This place is insane.
P: 100% M: 100% E: 50% (Scared)

Arrived in the Forest with his sister, Abhiri. After several minutes of freaking out, dragged her over to the pond to see what the heck they looked like. Mortified. Tried to smash his reflection, but ended up just getting himself wet. Then the pond ate a deer. And then they got chased. Quickly learned that deer are scary, the pond is a zombifying, deer-controlling meat-eater, and everything in the place is out to kill him and his sister. The fountain in the middle of the grassy place is safe to drink from, but only if you're there for a minute. Otherwise it explodes into squirrels and turns you into a bird.
Eventually met a fawn he and Abhiri dubbed Hugs, who seemed alright. Tried to make friends. Then Hugs drank some pond water and slowly went insane. Tried dancing with him to make his last moments better, but has four left feet.
Discovered pine cones were safe to eat and gave people hats, and established some landmarks and a safe meeting place to get to in case he and Abhiri got separated by some of the crazy deer.

6-10-14

Not so bad when they aren't trying to eat you...

Spent a good chunk of time sitting next to sleeping Abhiri, disappointed that he hadn't woken from the unusual dream, and eying their newfound neighbors - a weird purple kid (Neela) and a weird white kid (Indira). They didn't do a whole lot, though, so he tolerated them. Eventually got up to see if he could figure out some more things about this place they'd magically appeared in. The deer mostly ignored him this time - didn't have to run away much, though a few did that weird bowing thing at him, and some more tried to get him to dance. Showed off his left feet again - they were unimpressed and left shortly thereafter. Must look into this strange ritual further...
Periodically checked in on his sister to make sure their neighbors hadn't turned into brainwashed pond cannibals.
Watched a couple adults play with antler spells. Shocked when one sneezed and the antlers vanished. Watched a while longer to confirm that that's actually what happened, then bounced off to see if he could get something put on him and try it out for himself. Someone threw flowers on his head; almost immediately sneezed them off. Pleased with himself.
Stared at what he assumed was a mom with teeny tiny babies. Wondered if he might be able to sneak in and benefit from maternal instinct, but ended up getting distracted. Wound up by the pond and watched a couple deer fall in. One got lucky and made it back out, or got spit back out or something. Requires further observation.
Sat in the giant humming oak tree for a while and repeated his favorite mantras in hopes that he'd hit upon some divine inspiration. Nope. Just sleepies. Dozed off for a while without realizing it. Woke and ran back to Abhiri, who was still just like he left her. Whew. Curled up and stayed with her.

6-11-14

Dared to venture out again. Followed a fawn around the playground before realizing he'd practically walked on top of a frickin' TIGER. Terrified and awestruck at the same time. Oogled at it until it woke up, then decided he better stand at a safer distance. Oogled from further away until it stood up and stared right at him ooooohshit. Played a little cat and mouse (he being the mouse), convinced that it was going to hunt him down and eat him. Backed away slowly. Because predators chase you if you run. He read that in a book once. Hid behind something until the tiger lost interest, thank goodness, and watched from a safe distance.
And then there was panicked screaming. Quickly realized it was a sane fawn in trouble from one of the crazy pond deer and, feeling obligated, leapt in to help the poor kid get away. Kicked at the big thing while its back was turned to him, got a startled reaction and hoped the lunker would follow him for a minute and let the other fawn run off, but he was intent on the other fawn. Tried a few more times before - much to his surprise - the EFFING TIGER came to help! Was more than glad to let her try to kick the bad guy's ass (which she totally did). Cheered from the sidelines. Well, mentally. Mostly just stared in shock and awe as the majestic mythical beast did her thang. A white deer came in to help, too. Not sure what kind of beastie it was, but it looked pretty cool, too. Concerned for a minute that the tiger might just be defending her prey, but then she actually went to check on the other little guy when the big blue predator was gone. Kick-ass. Still panicked a little when she approached to inspect him, but remembered to do the bowing thing and she bowed back. COOL. Decided it was in his best interest to stick with the tiger who apparently didn't want to eat him after all.
Indian space kid's dream come true. The Forest suddenly doesn't look quite so bad.

Later on, a little tiger cub came up, looking even more tigery than its mama. Awesome! Joined by a green deerthing as well. Nervous at first, but the tiger family seemed okay with it, so he figured he was, too. Eventually wandered off to check on his sister, who seemed to have done some exploring of her own. Returned and sat with the group for a while before feeling restless and going off to see if maybe Abhiri was around the pond. Nope. Checked the ruins. Nope. Spent some time inspecting the pudgy statues there, though, and considered getting a closer look at a fawn hiding among the rubble but decided against it. Didn't want to stir up trouble.

Returned to the meeting spot again and sat down for a while, nearly dozing off before the faint sound of hooves attracted his attention. Turned around to find one of those crazed skull-wearing deer staring at him. Hoped it would go away, but it kept sneaking closer, obviously hunting him. Got up and started backing away - it had worked the first time. Nope, it kept getting closer. Tried to make himself look big and intimidating, but that didn't work either. In fact, the thing bowed at him. Puzzled - zombie deer don't bow, do they? Maybe it was a trick... Continued backing away for a bit before turning tail and fleeing a greater distance. The big red deer followed. Wellcrap. Started to panic and desperately sought out the giant playground rocks where his guard tiger had last been seen. Bolted back as soon as he caught sight of them in the distance and dove beneath the tiger as soon as he was on top of the rock. She seemed a little puzzled by this. Tried to convey his alarm when the big red deer came into view again, but she didn't seem to get it. The red deer came and went a few times and eventually settled on the largest playground rock. Not happy.

Rohit was almost immediately distracted by the arrival of the freakiest dog he had ever seen, but it seemed... nice enough. And puppyish. Tried bowing to it and got a bow back, and then the little tiger cub woke up and played with it. Okaythen. Watched with mama tiger for a few minutes, trying to decide how brave he was before he jumped down and tried to make friends. Those two will surely be dangerous when they grow up... better be nice now. Hopped around a bit, not sure whether to laugh at the puppy antics or break down bawling because it was so weird and he wanted to wake up and go back to his family.

Tried to hop back up on the rocks with the other kids when they tuckered themselves out. Missed a couple times, but was determined. Third time's the charm. Pleased with himself. The dogthing pointed at the ground and sat down, which he thought was weird - it's like they're intelligent. But this is the radioactive-mutated world, right? They came from smart things a long time ago? Maybe that's why. Decided to puzzle it out later and accepted the invitation to sit, still keeping an eye on his stalker. Somewhere between smug and a little comforted when mama tiger sat right next to him, feeling somewhat safer. Now if only he could find his sister and get her to join the Awesome Tiger Family Club.

6-12-14 to 7-1-14

Spent a few days being stalked by the same strange red deer who seemed obsessed with him. Confronted her at one point, luring her close enough to get a good kick in before bolting off. The next time she found him, Rohit was surprised to have a short conversation. Apparently some of these freaky deer can talk.
Not entirely convinced the red deer wasn't a zombie, but she at least seemed to know some things. Learned his tiger had a name - Shahla. And so did his stalker - Jokerman. And to top it all off, there was someone out there who apparently knew him and his sister and figured they'd show up here. What the heck, man.
All in all, though, JM was pretty vague about things, and the encounter was overall frustrating.
A day or two later, the pair of fawns were stalked by a deer they'd seen with JM a few times, this one more orangey. Darted through the forest with his sister on his heels, and led her to the safety of a gap between and beneath some of the giant boulders in the bright birch forest. Reacted vehemently to the stranger and second stalker and tried telling her off, only to be met with a request that the two fawns help her find her lost children.
Didn't buy the "I have candy in my van" trick and stuck to his guns for the most part, but some of the things the doe said rang a number of bells. Eventually he and Abhiri both became suspicious enough of the doe's identity that they tracked her down after she left them in peace.
After some more questioning and a whole boat load of wariness, more or less confirmed that the stranger was in fact their mother, Indi, in deer form. Or at least was very likely to be. Figured it would have to do for now and, desperate for security and someone to trust, thought it best to go along with things. Wost case, she'd turn out to be a mind-reading zombie who'd eat them in their sleep, right?
Emotionally overwhelmed and burned out.

7-7-14

Wow, pretty...

Explored with Abhiri, and even got into some games - mostly tag. Hid in the blue bowl after slipping away momentarily, but she found him eventually.
Later on, the pair came across two pretty deer in the birch forest. Curious, Rohit hung around and even dared to get close enough to sniff at them since they didn't seem to be paying the fawns too much mind. BAD IDEA, the black and blue one got up as soon as he'd managed to skitter back to his sister. Abhiri panicked and tried to drag him off.
Retreated a ways, but maybe pretty deer don't eat kids? This one seemed nice enough. And the does so far have been nicer than the big ol' brutes tromping around the forest. She even hopped around! Humored her and eventually the trio were romping.
Settled down beside 'Bhiri when she got tired, and eventually the red deer came over and joined them too. Kinda wanted to ask the black-blue lady how she got all beat up, but decided it wouldn't be polite. And Mom showed up! Practically dove under her because, well, mom. Snuggled with his sister.
And then more playing ahmg running around everywhere and fawns all over. Not so sure about the random fawns that joined in (one got all huffy at them and started stomping at his sister - not cool bro - but it was okay because Rohit scared the bully off), but tolerated them for the most part. Saw a little puppy go by, and there was this weird bird-person-face kid he kinda wanted to go and poke but thought better of it. Played King of the Hill at one point and boxed with Mom while she had some funky antler spells on. And then Mom turned out to actually be an evil zombie after all! With evil black antler things! Oh no, she's gonna eat 'Bhiri!
Being the helpful big brother that he is, Rohit threw an antler spell at Abhiri. And she totally got the same kind of big creepy black antler things. And then 'Bhiri kicked Zombie Mom's butt.
Noticed Shahla with the green deer shortly after and excitedly dragged the family along to meet his awesome tiger friend thing, but she seemed a little preoccupied. And then there was a tiger baby, and more playtime.
Abhiri was a chicken and scared of the tigers though. After realizing she wasn't in the frolicking group, trekked up the hill to drag her butt into it - but she wouldn't budge and there seemed to be some kind of craziness happening and some weird purpley deer off to the side just staring at them, so he sat down with Abhiri.
Zonked out after a while.

7-14-14

Spent the last couple of days hanging around Mom and occasionally venturing out to poke around the Forest. Was kinda introduced to Israel, but stubbornly hid behind his mother during the attempt.
It seems the stranger isn't going away, though, so after a few days of being bull-headed and avoiding the buck, decided to at least try and be polite. Found Israel at the ruins and settled down nearby. Feeling a little awkward, but oh well.

7-14-14

Hm.

Woke up alone and went hunting for his family. Wondered if maybe Abhiri might be around their meeting place, but only found strangers there. Noticed Shahla and her family nearby, though, and hopped his little self over there. Didn't want to intrude, though, so he sat by a tree instead of flopping himself in the middle of the tigers. Mom showed up pretty quick afterwards, anyways. Got inspected by Circe and said hello, but she didn't seem terribly keen on playing or anything so he mostly peeked around the tree and watched her stomp at a stranger who got too close. That big dude (Israel) came by and Mom went to hang out with him. 'Sokay, he's too cool to hang with his Mom anyways. Chillin' with the tigers.
Didn't exactly hesitate, though, when Mom called him over. Eyed Jokerman, who'd showed up while he wasn't paying attention, and figured Mom might want him to go play nice with her or something. Picked Israel instead, though, and went and plunked himself by the at least somewhat more familiar and less scary buck. Mostly unintentional diss on JM. Mom didn't complain and came and sat with the two boys. JM did JMish things. Israel went and made kissy faces at some strangers way away and Jo got closer some time while he'd been dozing. Tried to ignore her.

8-14-14

Hi, Mom.
P: 100% M: 100% E: 90% (Observant)

Watched some giant deer craziness the other day while hanging out with mum and sister. Intrigued by the big bulls and their scuffling, but at the same time wary. Especially when they got too close and Mom got fussy with them.
Eventually got led off to the Oak and tried to be sneaky about watching TF mess with another deer under the pretense of playing with a random fawn who had decided to follow the family. Creeped on Jo a little bit 'cause she was there, but quickly decided it was better to stick to Mom.

Fastforward to today - bumped into one of the deer who'd been scuffling (Gustiro) and snuck up to observe him. Hid at a pretty good distance in some tall grass at first, but got closer when he was distracted by a very loud fawn. Peeped out from behind a tree for a while until the fawn got dragged off by another adult and Gustiro took interest in him. Played some cat and mouse around the big tree he'd been hiding behind, somewhat amused when Gus tried to approach and wound up getting blocked by a smaller tree growing close to the big one. Silly Gus, your antlers are too big to fit through there. Nyah nyah, can't get me.
Noisy fawn came back and Roh settled down to watch for a bit. Got bored and dozed off at one point, woke up to bright lights and that weird whistle. Freaked the hell out for a minute and shook like crazy trying to get the weird tickly things off - had to be spiders in his hair, augh, awful.
Nope. Just peacock feathers. Still not used to the weird magic stuff here.
Played (hesitantly) with Gus and the other fawn, tossing some antler spells back at Gus and pretending to be tough, though he was being too shy to really get into it.
Then Gus went off and put antlers on a sleeping deer who got mad and chased him around. Followed the pair for a little while until he came to the conclusion that they weren't going to stay in one spot and they might turn on him if they realized he was following. Never know with those crazy deerthings. Grabbed a mask spell for safety, and stopped following them shortly after they passed through the hollow full of berry flower things. Hung out at the edge of the Blue Bowl for the rest of the night, eventually joined by Mom.
And Jo for about three seconds, but she must have sensed his growing ninja prowess from all the stalking practice he got today, because she ran away scared.

8-20/21-14

Whew.
P: 95% (Bumps & Bruises - roughhousing) M: 100% E: 90% (Shy/Playful)

Found the Forest covered in a thick blanket of fog today. Creepy. Skittered under the slanting rock at the playground because he wasn't sure where else he'd feel secure, then noticed Shahla and company nearby. Playground's a good choice, then. There were a lot of deer he didn't recognize, though, so he stayed put.
Mom turned up soon afterwards - snuggled some before she dragged him out from the cover of the rock to meet a puppy dog thing. Not quite sure what to do with it (play fetch..? That's what you do with dogs, right? ...But no hands!), but it ran off so... problem solved?
Got dragged to the pond, where he spied another dog thing. Dogs and deer. Oookay then.
Hopped in the shallows a time or two before trotting after Mom. Played chase with her a little bit, and ended up faceplanting into her butt a few times when she stopped suddenly. Got a little better at dodging after a while.
Back to the playground.
One of the tiger cubs approached to check out the pair, and Rohit found himself mercilessly shoved towards Circe by his mother before she outright abandoned him. Figured she meant for him to go play or something, but Circe went back to the family. Shuffled his hooves awkwardly for a minute before asking if he could sit down with Circe. She didn't seem too put off by it, though she moved after he sat? Just feeling all around awkward. And plus girls have cooties, Mom, don't you know?
Took a nap and Mom cuddles, yay.
Woke up to some minor ruckus and watched Circe and Shahla play for a while before deciding to be brave and try to play with them. Stood and watched awkwardly for like 10 minutes, during which time Sonali jumped in and he got a lot of weird looks while he shuffled around. Eventually Shahla told him to play and went to sit down, and once he got going things worked out pretty well. Roughhoused with the tiger sisters for a while, and with a red fawn who seemed to know them. Much poking and headbutting and running around like headless chickens. Chased Sonali in a big circle until he figured he wasn't going to catch her that way, stopped, turned around, and pretty much butted heads with her. Laughed it off.
Eventually the four wore themselves out and plunked down in a big pile of furballs.
Watched JM creep over a hill and sit next to Mom. Eyed her skeptically. Mom looked unfazed. Let it slide for now.

8-23-14

WEIRD.
P: 95% (Bumps & Bruises - roughhousing) M: 100% E: 90% (Wary)

You would think that after two months in this place he'd get it figured out at least a little bit. NOPE.
The day started off okay enough; bumped into a fawn while he was looking for Mom near the playground. Decided to try and be polite and kinda made a friend. Threw masks at each other until he caught sight of Ama, then threw a mask on her too. She didn't want to play though so he went back to the other fawn and they ran around and there were general fawn antics with more masks and some antlers until the other kid got distracted by something and ran off [player idled or something]. Went back to sit with Mom.
Jo showed up. Aaaagain. Huffed at her and got reprimanded and shoved towards the kudu. Pretty much blatantly ignored JM and turned around to face the other way when he sat back down with Indi.
Dozed and apparently missed the bulk of some fight. Caught the noisier tail end of it but figured it was better to stay put.
The fight made him curious about another set of shouts later on, though. What the heck's going on? Could make out Shahla's voice somewhere in the ruckus, and caught sight of some of her cubs not too far off. When Jokerman went to investigate, and Ama conveniently wasn't paying attention, followed the kudu at a distance with the planned excuse of trying to be nice to Mom's weird friend or something. When he got to Sonali, though, she and JM went in completely different directions. Hesitated for a minute, then darted after the tiger cub. Just as she came into view again through the birch grasses, so did a rampaging herd of crazy deer headed straight for him. Of course.
Changed course PDQ and nearly ran headlong into the Shahla cubs where they'd managed to find a spot out of the way. About a millisecond later found himself getting chewed out by his mother. Geeze, where'd she even come from?? Started to try to explain himself but things happened too fast. Everybody went everywhere. Tried to stick with the cubs, worried about what was going on. Shahla didn't look so good, from the glimpse he got of her as she ran by, and the kids were obviously upset. Indi didn't seem to get it, though, until he kept refusing to follow her.
They're like, my only friends, Mom. : <
More craziness.
Eventually found himself near the blue bowl, huddled in a group of youngsters surrounded by a few adults while the stampede continued all over the rest of the Forest. Eventually got enough glimpses of the crew to figure out that everybody was chasing one lady at the front and trying to beat her up. What even is? She kept leading everybody close to the fawn group, even nearly running into them at one point. Indi and Shahla stayed with the kids while Jo kept a perimeter watch (as much as one deer can). A little awed by the teamwork, but too anxious to focus on it much.
Then, as suddenly as it all started, it seemed to be over. The lady everyone was chasing fell down behind a big tree where he couldn't see, and then vanished under a hundred different hooves. Shaken by the violence of it all and wondered if he'd just seen someone get beaten to death.
Then there was some kind of party. Even more disturbed.
Everyone dispersed and Indi finally managed to get her kid to be obedient again. Followed her to the playground, annoyed when JM tagged along. Clambered up the giant boulder, carefully picking his way up since he couldn't just make a couple leaps like the adults, and was subjected to forceful grooming by his mother.
After an hour or so of sitting around, got bored and decided to entertain himself. Noticed a flock of birds gathered about one of the rocks and got up to launch himself into the middle of them. Watched them scatter, then gave chase. Somewhere in the middle of his antics, a stranger approached. A GHOST stranger. Or at least he looked like a ghost. WHAT EVEN IS. Vaguely recognized him as one of the deer from the earlier chase, and someone who'd gone up to Jo afterwards, but had no idea who he was. Plus the group had been kinda crazy, so the guy just seemed all around sketchy. Scampered back up the rock to stand by Indi. JM got up and started playing with the stranger, though, so figured he was at least... sorta alright. Resumed chasing birds. Wore himself out eventually and found a neat little ledge to rest on on one of the smaller, flatter rocks.
Then JM got weird. Well, weirder. She snorted at him! Mom, did you see that? How come she can snort at me, but I can't snort at her? >/
Huffed back.
Jo stomped.
Roh stomped.
About had it when she started shaking her antlers at him. Jerk.
Then she went off and started rubbing all over the rocks and trees. Ooookay then, weirdo.
Stared at her for a while, and eventually everybody sat down on the flat rock. Resumed his place on the ledge until the ghost stranger started talking to him. Got a name: Rossamund.
And then the jerk jumped at him and was all toothy and who even does that, scaring kids for no reason. Bolted, then sulked back to his mother, fully intending to ignore the ghost-jerk - which promptly didn't happen.
Ended up having a conversation with the guy in which he pummeled Ross with about two billion questions about zombies, ghosts, predators, Evil Pond Water, antlers, the police, what the heck happened with that lady everybody beat up, and the Forest in general. Learned he might be a kudu, whatever that is - but that's okay because apparently they get big and strong and have really neat horns. Not as cool as a tiger, but that sounds pretty legit.
Ross also offered to give him some fighting lessons. Wondered if Ama would let him, but Rossy seemed to have a solution maybe. More interested than he let himself give away.

9-28-14

Raaawr.
P: 95% (Roughhousing) M:100% E: 90% (Amused)

Hung out in a mushroom circle until his sister tackled him, Mom not far behind. Played around with Abhiri a bit and encountered a weird guy who kept mooing in his face. Rood.
Skittered down to the pond to play in the water, but 'Bhiri wouldn't have any of it. Pretended the pond turned him into a zombie and chased her around, but she was a big baby about it and went and tattled to Mom. Let her be the zombie instead and ran away from her for a little bit.
And then something weird with a dinosaur-looking deer thing (Gretai). And then more zombies.
Then Mom was a zombie!
Told Abhiri to run while he fended off the Evil Zombie Mom (TM). Valiantly sacrificed himself for his sister, then chased her down with EZM after he'd been bitten. She hid inside a bunker at the ruins, but he and Mom broke down the doors and ate her.
And then EZM led them on a hunt for the Zombie Hunter, who they all beat up. Totally approved of the Mom-endorsed chance to beat on JM.
Then Abhiri surrendered because she was tired. Didn't really want to stop playing, but sat down to catch his breath while Jo hugged trees. Still not sure what her fascination with them is.
And then this happened.

10-25-14

No girls in the fort!

Found Rossamund, but he was busy sitting with some kind of bear deer thing, so Roh sat a ways away and kinda hoped maybe Ross would just notice him.
Except then he did and it wasn't as cool as he hoped.
Got some mild reprimanding and cautioning against being near the bear, who did indeed sound like a Big Fat Jerk. Learned that Ross was stuck serving the bear and trying to figure out how to stop him or something. Translation: Ross is in trouble, halp.
When the bear lumbered off, followed Ross around the Forest for a bit and met some folks. Got turned into a raven and freaked out until the magic wore off. Bumped into Thais (pretty) and Altij (woaaaaaaaaaah), and tried to remember his manners while blatantly staring at the halo thing.
Then Mom came up as they were moving along. Not sure if he was in trouble or not, but it didn't look like it, so they carried on. Found Lieva. Roh thought she was reaaaally pretty, but Ross kinda just shrugged and said she was unpredictable. Met Ramsus next, at a very large distance - for obvious reasons. Big, big, big toothy thing. Skeptical when Ross said he could be nice, but made a note of it anyhow.
As they were wandering around the ruins, stalkermom and Creeper made themselves more obvious and then Indi came up and dragged Ross aside. Could hear some vague threats (something along the lines of 'stay in my sight or I'll eat your face') and was absolutely mortified that his mother would embarrass him in front of one of the Big Kids. Apologized sheepishly and explored the ruins with Ross. Inspected a little cubbyhole Ross said would be good for hiding, then sat down on a fallen column and chatted. Apparently Ross had been limping because someone beat up his sister, so he beat up the beat-uper. Sounds legit. Rohit would totally kick the butt of anyone who messed with his little sister, too!
And then Ross tried to shove him towards the cubbyhole when two weird horses showed up.
One of them was on fire.
On.
Fire.
And no one else seemed amazed by this.
IT WAS ON FIRE.
wtf man.
Watched a fight start, the horses going after some bird kid he'd seen around before, and then there was a mighty battle cry of shaLALALALALALALA as the Tiger Brigade brought reinforcements. Jo and Ross were in there, too, somewhere, and really it was just a big mess.
Stuck pretty close to Ama until she got turned into a rabbit.
Don't worry, Mom, I'll protect you! *gulp*
Then Indi bolted for the birch forest. Lost her in all the tall grass and panicked - what if she got eaten?!
Found her and eventually she got the rabbit spell off. Relieved.
Things started to settle down and the tiger family and his group settled down near the Crying Idol.
Had a serious conversation with his mother and was dragged into 'thinking about' talking to Jo because she could answer his question and had some kind of 'surprise' for him, whatever the heck that means. Grumped some more, then asked if he could go and play with the tiger family. Mom shoved him off and he went and had a ball.
Shala and one of the cubs were dressed alike, and Circe was close to getting the set, too, but some of the pieces just wouldn't show up! Eventually everyone chipped in and by the end of it, with much determination, even Rohit had his very own ugly costume to flaunt.
Learned how to clamber up the Idol to sit on its head and flopped into a big deer hat pile until Abhiri came around.
Went to show off to her.
Played a bit, then dozed off for a while.

Played Zombies with Abhiri and dragged Ross and Casti into it, at one point the fawns eating the older boys' brains before trying to eat Jo's as well. Backfired, 'cause she thought she was a zombie.

After Abhiri flopped and was ready for a nap, Roh found himself still ready to bounce around a bit. And then Jo like... tried to play with him?
Didn't like the idea at first, then thought on his mother's earlier conversation and decided to humor her.

Made a 'boys only' fort out of one of the flower beds and guarded it viciously from the kudu while simultaneously inviting Rossamund in. Defended it from her for a while, then decided Casti's fort was better and went over and claimed his.
Abhiri wanted to be in the fort, but she was a girl.

A busy few days. Snow! Very cold. And huge mushrooms! Clambered up on them with Ross and did some general monkeying around.
Worked up the nerve to talk to JM, and discussed things with her begrudgingly. She agreed to help him out, more or less, then told him he better leave before anyone caught him with her. Not sure if she was being considerate or poking fun at him, but left to sit with his mom anyways. Even remembered to use his manners and thanked her.
Very surprised when the kudu brought him a beautifully decorated hog's skull, which he soon realized was a mask. A little large for him, but he'd certainly grow into it. Completely baffled by the unprovoked gift from someone he was pretty sure was aware of his distaste for them. She even wished him 'Happy Halloween,' which he couldn't quite remember the meaning of but he got the gist. Then she told him he could practice sparring with Ross now; realized the new helmet (and its tusks) would be rather useful down the road.
Jokerman received a bewildered but sincere thank you and he contemplated the new treasure most of the night before he zonked out.

Decided to wear his mask the next couple of days. Even let Jo see him wear it, though he's still not sure what to think of her. Not putting her as the antagonist in his recent games, but not really acknowledging her presence, either.
Played around the Oak with Mom, 'Bhiri, Jo, and Ross. Lots of running and ducking in and out of the roots. Played with a fawn who later turned into a giant zombie. Pretty sure no one can be trusted not to be a zombie at this point.

Ivi is really bad about updating this, so have like 3 weeks of updates.
ALL THE THINGS. Got his first flower sparring lesson from Jokerman, who spent a good 20 minutes just convincing him to stand in the flower bed with her.
Practiced by himself the next couple of days, careful not to let Jo catch him at it. Happy to show off to Rossamund, though.
Lots of play time with the big kid scattered over the days.
Had a revelation moment where he actually took a few minutes to look out over the birch forest from the Playground and realized how pretty the Forest is. Was prompted to actually be a sweet child and pick some hyacinths for his mother, and dumped them on top of her with a quick snuggle before scuttling off to be a muddy little boy again.
Speaking of mud, made a mess of himself and his family while it rained. Grumpymom dragged him into the pond soon after.
Stared at Herla from a distance, curious, since JM seemed to know her. One of the most normal-looking deer he's seen so far. Feathers and shinies!
Lots of roughhousing, covered in bumps and bruises as a little boy should be.

Met Jhorla and bounced around with her for a while. Mom showed up, dragged her into it. Got chased around and splashed with water 'cause he's a dirty little boy. Hid behind Jo, who wasn't much help. Lots of sass. Real men don't take baths >/ Besides, he's not that dirty.
Showed off for his new friend and clambered on top of the Crying Idol for a bit before settling down and zonking out.

Met up with Abhiri and she made some stupid remark about his antlers growing in. She decided they were pimples/warts. Told her they were zombie pimples and he was going to give her some. Much chasing and shenanigans ensued. Caught her at the old Oak and rubbed his face all over her. And a mask. Told her it was zombie warts on her face. Take that, little sister!

DISTRACTION! A whole bunch of fawns were playing with some adults by the ruins. The pair went over to investigate and were quickly accosted by one of the older ones. Leapt to Abhiri's defense, but too late - more zombie warts. Er, masks.
Tried to convince 'Bhiri to go make friends, but she wouldn't have any of it. Told her fine, those fawn friends were lame anyway, and they should go find some cool big deer to mess with.

They came upon a few by the playground. The pair debated over whether they should be ninjas or pirates for a few moments, then charged up the slanted rock with ferocious pirate battle cries - only to discover their target was snoozing right through their attack. And he had giant antlers.
Yep, time to find a new target.

Abhiri spotted two deer sitting in the grass a ways away. Quickly concocted a plan with her, but they were spotted! Stared down one of them and plotted to distract the pair while Abhiri ran to get blueberries to pelt at them.
Naturally, it didn't work very well; the two deer were suddenly in his face. Fussed and backed off from the first one with big antlers, but recognized Stria about the time she recognized him. Ohokaythen.
Tried to convince Abhiri to come over. Chased her around a bit until she was properly introduced, and then chaos started. Another fawn and deer came over and ohmygosh so many deer for a minute there. Clambered into a 'fort' with Abhiri and told her to help him defend from the attacking zombies. The walls were breached a few times, but the siblings fought valiantly and mostly kept their safe space. They even killed a few and got zombie!Stria to run away.

But then, out of nowhere, Stria ~~LeBeouf~~ reappeared! She gave the zombies an opening and Abhiri and Rohit were forced to retreat. Stria pulled Roh into a fierce one-on-one battle first, though. He barely escaped with his life. It was brutal. After meeting up with Abhiri at the backup base, their teammate turned him brown. Uh. Apparently he got a little muddy.

Anyways. Called for revenge, and the duo sprung back into action. Roh chased Stria all the way to the Twin God statues, where she was devouted. Hah! She cast the purifying pelt on him, too, and magically healed him all up so he could continue to do battle. With an ally reclaimed, raced back to hand off the Holy Water Spell (tm) to his sister - but alas, he missed and dropped it on the ground! The water splashed everywhere and sank into the ground, useless. Oh noooo!

Tussled with Muiel for a while, then, and shouted for Abhiri to go and get the saving Water Spell.

"I won't fail you, Brother! Don't worry!"

"Hurry, 'Bhiri! It's stuck in the mud! Help!"

With a blinding flash, the battle was won, and the group of adventurers trotted off to the Birch forest to catch their breath.

Woke up some time in the middle of the night-day and decided he was thirsty. Blundered his way down to the pond and was approached by some weirdo... oh, no, just Ross. A really beat-up looking Ross. Bro, what happened? Got his drink and flopped down by a tree to fall back asleep or chat, whichever came first. Ama came by, too.
Ended up with a bawling zombie on his shoulder and no idea what to do with it. MAM WAT DO.
Brought up something his Nanaji had taught him - a mantra. It seemed to at least distract the myling, so Rohit decided to give him a little lesson in mantras and meditation. Fairly pleased with his results, and eventually managed to pass out again shortly after a stranger (Gabriel) joined them. Ross seemed to know him, though, so marked him as 'okay.'

Shenanigans. Found Ross with some guy (Christian), not sure if they'd met before or not. Hopped around for a little bit, trotted after Ross when he went to get a drink and splashed around and generally made a fool of himself. Noticed Christian had moved a bit and went to try to drag him into the roughhousing by shaking some water off on him. Ross looked mortified and Christian wasn't particularly amused either, but WHATEVS GUYS STOP SITTIN' AROUND.
Ross turned into a bird? What even? Wasn't really sure how to react to that, so he just sat on it. And then it turned back into Ross and suddenly Rohit was sitting a couple feet higher. Okay then.
Somehow wound up near Red Hill and frolicked in the flowers. Noticed at one point that Ross was no longer keeping up with him and was instead staring from the edge of the flower beds. Shrugged it off at first and went back, but the next time he ended up over there the same thing happened. Got curious and tested the theory by being annoying and then darting into the poppies. Nope, Ross wouldn't follow. Hah! Base!
Messed around for a bit, Christian sat on top of the poppies what even is? Found a tiny patch that was just about his size and flopped down, and Ross seemed to get particularly agitated with that. Much 'Come here!' and 'NO U' ensued. Grabbed some poppies and crept towards Ross, who backed up. Amused by the reaction, but decided not to be too big a jerk and dropped the flowers. Only to sneeze or something idek and got them all over Ross. wellcrap. Snagged a mouthful of purple flowers and tossed them at Rossamund frantically while the myling flipped out. Sry bro!
Angry!Ross hid in a tree. 'Coaxed' him out by threatening to sit in the poppies again. More shenanigans, much running around. Chased Ross around for no particular reason because he wouldn't stop running? Ended up by Ama and Jo, who were snuggling butts eww cooties. Played with a fawn for a little bit while the others caught their breath, then sat down.
Eventually snuck over to the Oak to sit down and practice his mantras a bit. Got squished by Ross at some point and Jo kept poking her nose around, but stubbornly continued his chants until he felt nice and rested and maybe a little drowsy. Got dragged back to Indi and Jokerman, not really sure why but kinda just going with the flow.

Ran into Ross the other day, having some kind of weird stare-down with Jhorla's scary dad while she and her mom and watched from the sidelines. Got distracted by a cute little fawn who wanted cuddles or something, then hurried off to figure out where Ross had disappeared to when she fell asleep.

Found him huddled up and kinda crazy-looking under one of the playground rocks. Looked like he'd snapped off his other horn and gotten beat up.... again. Siiigh. And the whole foggy eye thing, and being frazzled and looking like he might jump on the kudu-mix didn't really help his case, either.

Disappointed with his Cool Kid hero. Talked for a while, decided he'd try to teach Rossamund how to meditate and use mantras so he'd quit doing stupid stuff. You know, since Ross was supposed to teach him how to fight like a deer. Gotta make a fair trade. No ulterior motives here, nope.
Ross also had a random candle that apparently came from his mom. Decided not to inquire further about it - pretty sure he said she'd died or something and he was already pretty close to the deep end, so. Let sleeping dogs lie, man. Told him he should come back to India whenever they figured out how, though.

Today, meandered around the Forest for a while. Stumbled upon Ross, but he looked busy so Roh trotted himself elsewhere. Weird interactions with a nameless deer, more wandering. Ended up hanging around the Aumkara Tree for a while and practicing his mantras until Ama showed up. Hung out with his mom for a while before feeling the urge to go stretch his legs.

Wandered around aimlessly for a bit and sat in a flower patch until some weird noises not too far away caught his attention. Got up and came across... giant squirrels what even. Just stared at them and the deer running around them, not really sure what was going on. Recognized Jhorla and her parents and kinda just stared like 'wtf?'

Then Jhorla appeared in his face. Woah, girl, how you do that?
Chased each other around and jumped over the stream and splashed in the water and general shenanigans until they wore themselves out and sat down. Not sure what to think of big ol' Ramsus hovering nearby, especially when Jhorla went to bed or somesuch. And then so did Isiel. Just Ram and Roh. Wohboy. Maybe he should go back to Ama.

Did so, but wasn't there too long before he realized the group Ross had been with earlier had dispersed. Tracked him down in the blue bowl and tried to drag him over to the Oak. Didn't get a response and became increasingly concerned. Indi turned up, followed by Pica, then Abhiri, and Jo. Accidentally brought ALL the deer to Ross's freakout session.
Didn't get much out of his friend before he dove into Pica's side and, not knowing what else to do for Ross, went and snuggled with his own kin for comfort.

Wandered around until he stumbled upon Jhorla and another little deer with some neat red feathers. Started to say hello, but was pulled aside by a deer who needed some help getting his set back. Helped the fellow get dressed and bounced around a little bit to celebrate his non-nakedness before re-attempting to say hello to Jhorla and her friend - though the friend had disappeared.

Roughhoused with Jhorla for a little while and was introduced to Isabeau, who'd actually just gone and vanished somewhere around Ramsus. More romping, and then everybody settled down by Jhorla's parents. Just chilled for a while. Ama turned up - got up to sneak her a quick nuzzle before sitting back down with Jhorla.

Then mom got up and stared at something?
And then ohmygosh Jo and Indi everywhere, acting like kids and snogging and idek u gais r so embarrissinggggggggg NO DON'T SPELL ME GAIS WHY noooooo.

Then noticed someone else staring at them. Ohai Una. Hadn't seen the zebracorn in a long time and mostly had fuzzy memories of her being okay towards him but everyone else didn't like her for some reason. Probably because she's weird and likes to sniff butts, which is exactly what she did as soon as people started moving around. Crept about halfway over to Una and stared back and was like 'wtf yo?' Christian looked tense and then Indi got up and circled around to sit somewhere behind Unathi. Wasn't sure if it was a threat or permission for him to do what he was doing, so he decided to take it as permission and got close enough to give Una a sniff. The unicorn promptly freaked out, which made Indi freak out, which made some RANDOM PERSON HALFWAY ACROSS THE FOREST freak out and chase Una and then Indi chased him and wtf even, gais. Stared after the bundle of chaos, dumbstruck. Indi told off Nikhil or something and then Una stared at everybody from a distance. Gave up and went to sit down next to Ama again.
Ross slept through the whole thing. Amused.

Started out with a slow day: found his mother, Jokerman, his sister, and Rossamund all hanging out and had some nice family time. Wandered off after a while, took a pleasant walk and challenged himself to walk slow all the way to the humming oak tree and just enjoy the scenery. Ross tagged along as he crossed the bridge and the two romped for a while (after Rohit made it to the tree, of course) before settling down.
A rather frustrating conversation ensued; ended the day with some sulking.

Lazed by the Ruins for a while until some constant back-and-forth mooing between a fawn and a random deer some ways off got on his nerves. Decided to wander around and caught wind of Shahla, decided to pay the tiger a visit. Bumped into Rossamund along the way and dragged him along with - at least until he got to the top of the hill, noticed a new babin next to Shahla, and Shardul across the way looking like he was probably in the middle of a conversation with her. Awkwardly bowed an apology for interrupting and noped the hell out of there. Lost Ross somewhere along the way. Pfff, social fail.
Snuggled into some flowers to recuperate.

After recovering some 'umption, trotted off to figure out where Ross had gone to. Found him staring down a pair of big cats. Ohboy. Vaugely recognized one as Shahla's kid, though - one of the ones he hadn't seen in a really long time. And then suddenly RUNNING EVERYWHERE OH MY GOSH. Startled at first, but quickly coerced into romping with the group. Had a feeling in the back of his mind that his mother would probably have a miniature heart attack if she knew he was frolicking with a lion, a tiger, and a ~~bear~~ ghost, oh my.

Ross kept raspberrying his fur, so of course he determined to get back at the myling boy. After much shenanigans, ended with the pair raspberrying each other at the same time until Ross squished Roh to the ground and then there was a giant dog cat pile and much Tsabhi grooming. Rasp rasp rasp. A little awkward, but content to be an 'honorary tiger' again for the day.

A little while later, Tsabhi went to go play with a couple of the new tiger babies (!!!) who'd started romping behind Shahla. Wriggled out from under Ross and followed to inspect the tiny little things and say hello. They seemed shy but super curious, and then there was some hopping and a pile of little adorable kittens ahmg. Settled down a respectful distance away. Then Circe turned up! Glad to see an old friend, moved over to say hi and sit with her.

Ross joined the group (kinda) later on, and sat with Roh for like 5 seconds before going to sit by a tree and then riding off into the sunset. k bai? Puzzled, but figured he just didn't want to intrude on the family or something but that's kinda what Rohit himself was doing so idek.
Circe got up and left too, wandering around the group for a minute before sitting by a little sapling way away. Watched her for a bit, then went to ask if he could sit next to her once she'd settled for a while. She looked lonely and he was sitting all by himself too : <
Glad when she didn't tell him to go away. Sat and just chilled.

Lazed around for most of the evening, but eventually had enough and squirmed out of the fluff pile. Waited patiently for someone to notice, except they didn't and he had to holler. Tsabhi got up and got turned a lovely shade of Noh orange before Roh hightailed it out of there. Ran around with her for a while until she snagged a pelt spell for herself, then played keep away until he slipped and got caught with a gray pelt spell. Tried to get Tsabhi to help him peacock Ross, but the magic just bounced off him for some reason. Laaaaame. Some extra rough roughhousing and displays of horns and lots of bucking and kicking ensued, until they mutually decided they were out of breath and simultaneously paused and panted for a little bit.

Hokay, more sleeping time.
Ross slept through the play, of course, but woke up just in time for more snuggles <3

I'm the king of the mountain...
Mozied around near the Oak after a pleasant nap and was startled by rapidly approaching hooves.
HI JHORLA.
Much running and jumping and bucking and general roughhousing followed. Joined by a couple of nameless deer and a fawn for a while, not sure how to feel about the super nuzzly one.
Played king of the hill a little bit, except neither really fully claimed the hill for long before going to jump over some logs or something.
Eventually they wore themselves out and settled down to rest. Suddenly found Rossamund bowing in front of them and bounced right back up to greet his friend and introduce him to Jhorla, blissfully unaware the two had history already. Sniffed at Ross again - you been in trouble again? Confused when Ross went and sat waaaaaaaaaaay over by another tree and after a few moments of deliberation, went over to poke at him and try to reassure him he wasn't intruding and could sit with them. Managed to get Ross all the way to the fairy ring before Jhorla got up and excused herself.
Watched as Jhorla ran off in one direction, and Ross in the other, both befuddled and saddened by their unexplained departure. They didn't like each other?
...Who was he supposed to follow?
Blinked dumbly after the pair for a while before deciding it wouldn't be right to pick one over the other, so... he'd just sit by himself.
King of the mountain isn't much fun when you're all by yourself.
Ross started to come back over, but again sat outside the circle of mushrooms. And then Umay came over (HOW MANY LIONS ARE THERE). Felt awkward while the two chatted or something, and eventually slunk off after a quick bow farewell. Trotted towards the Oak, only to find his preferred spot occupied. Feeling very out of place, floundered for a few moments before settling on a drink from the pond to clear his head.
Still not sure what to do with himself, watched the water for a while before finding a tree not too far from the pond. Vaguely aware Jhorla wasn't too far away, but unsure whether he should approach her or not. What if she hates me for being friends with Ross oh gosh why do my friends have to hate each other teenage angst what even.
While he was debating the matter, Jhorla approached him instead. Not sure why she was there except that maybe she didn't hate him after all (!), and found his mood somewhat lifted when she settled in next to him. Still not sure how to feel about the whole thing, but taking it as a sign that it'll work out.
Jhor left after some time spent in quiet company, and Rohit wandered towards the Oak again. Nope, still occupied. Plopped down next to a tree instead and zoned out. Surprised to find Tynan at his side later on, but glad to have some company even if he didn't really know the lionthing (oh my gosh all these giant cats why did I have to be a deer).
Stayed with the semi-stranger until he couldn't hardly hold his eyes open, then excused himself and trotted off to bed.

Spent the first portion of his day alone, wandering here and there and finding pleasant places to sit and enjoy the scenery or the sunlight or this or that.
Came across Jhorla at one point, but she looked preoccupied; passed by with a brief hello before finding a flower patch to nestle in. Realized shortly thereafter that Ross was very close by. Mozied over and found him in a hyper-alert sort of state, standing guard over someone he wasn't familiar with. Not sure exactly what was going on with the little doe (Cree), but she didn't look real great. Kept vigil with Ross for some time, mumbling some quiet prayers. A couple of stags he'd seen with Shahla's family came by (Nikhil, Shardul). Wasn't sure what to make of their visit but if Shahla's chill with them they can't be too bad.
Stayed a while longer after that before finding himself too restless to sit any more. Paced around some rocks slowly, pacing his steps to a mantra in his head, but eventually found the need to wander overwhelming and departed with a mental note to keep an ear out for Ross in case he needed help.
Came across Jhorla again, tried to figure out what she was focusing on. When the answer eluded him, started to move off, but she snapped to and gave Roh a sniff and a nuzzle. Stood shoulder to shoulder for a while before moving to sit by the stream.
Noticed a fawn (Víðarr) nearby after a while and got up to inspect it. Surprised when the kid stamped his hooves and made a fuss, but quickly realized it was the little punk's way of saying hello. Returned the greeting with a proper bow and couldn't help but laugh a bit when the child leapt into play. Followed suit and play-tussled with him, careful not to knock the little thing with his hooves or horns. Jhorla joined in eventually, and he was a little less careful about knocking about with her. Fun times had by all. Everybody flopped into a flower patch shortly before another fawn (Nephele) joined them. Settled down beside Jhorla to watch the fawns ~~fight for their amusement~~ play. Eventually they wore themselves out and sat beside the older pair. Quite content with the energy outlet and peaceful evening afterwards.

Went to check up on Ross since he looked kinda frantic yesterday. Found him sitting with the same doe and another one he didn't recognize, but not entirely certain the downed female was really there any more. Mumbled some more prayers before straying off to gather his thoughts. Wasn't really paying attention to where he was going until he fixated on some distant rocks. Good 'nough.
He didn't make it there, though; Jhorla bounded up to him from over yonder and, with some coaxing, drew him into some roughhousing. Sparred lightly, briefly joined by Jhor's friend. Then all of a sudden there were pounding hooves and TEETH EVERYWHERE all up in his business. Backed off from playing with his friend, panicked, but wasn't eaten. Stood shocked for a moment before thinking to bow; was met with no change from the interloping male. Eventually garnered half a sniff, but the small hope of success was obliterated when Jhorla excused herself with a brief nuzzle and a bow and ran off with the newcomer. Too stunned to even say goodbye until they were halfway across the playground.
Did he do something wrong?

After gathering his wits about him again, trudged to the Oak to ~~sulk~~ meditate for a while. Went above and beyond the traditional 108 repetitions of his mantras, too distracted to count properly; lost several hours to halfhearted mumbling. Eventually gave up on the exercise and went for a drink of water. Settled by one of the willows, but that wasn't right, either. Got up after a bit and sought a release for his pent up energy and frustrations. Marked up a couple of trees with practice kicks and charges, in addition to some antler rubs. Finally dumped himself into a random fairy ring and huffed and puffed himself back to calm.

Spent the morning on his own, doing this and that and practicing headbutts against one of the trees he'd used previously. Something to do. Settled down eventually and was later joined by his mother.
Surprise visit from Jhorla. Not entirely sure he's allowed to interact with her after the episode the other day, but Z'ev didn't seem to be anywhere around and she approached him, so... invited her to sit.

Later on, slipped off to check in on Rossamund. Noticed the doe's spot was empty and figured things must not have gone well for her, given how sullen his friend looked. Must have startled him or something because he got up suddenly. Started to ask if he was alright, but something in the distance caught Ross's attention and he beckoned Roh to follow. Found a fight between the blue bowl and Red Hill. Not sure what to do, really, but when things started breaking apart tried to help Ross and Stria pull apart Tsabhi, a buck he didn't know (Ini'heret), and some stag (Clyde). Ross didn't take very kindly to his help, but mostly ignored that until Ross started trying to ship him off with everyone else while he stayed behind.
Nope.

Stria got the guy all riled up again, and then he ran by everybody and Ross went after him again and Tsabhi started limping away and... everything happened all at once, really. Decided to make sure Tsabhi got wherever she was going safely while everyone else did... whatever they were doing. Very confusing (and laggy ;; ).

Things finally calmed down and most everybody sat. Then Stria looked mad at Ini or something and ran off? Not really sure what happened there. After some time given to let things settle, went to go check on her. Found her around Shahla's family's area with a little deer (Rune), looking busy. Not sure if she noticed him checking in, but as long as she was alright didn't care too much and trotted back to the main group. Pretty sure they were talking or something but was really too tired to pay attention. Zzz.

Sat by the Oak for a while before setting out to see who was around. Came across Tsabhi eventually and sat with her since she'd been limping the day before and looked pretty sad. Got some sad tiger licks before Jhorla suddenly showed up. Returned her nuzzle after frantically making sure Z'ev wasn't in tow, and relaxed when things seemed like they'd be alright. Tsabhi got up and walked away after a minute though - not sure if it was because Jhorla joined them or because she'd spotted a friend in the distance. When he realized she was with someone else she knew, though, settled down again.
A few minutes later, a random white deer joined them, which prompted Roh to look around and find Z'ev staring at him. Oh boy.
Seriously, dude, we're just sitting. ;;
Jhorla spotted him shortly thereafter and went over to him. Waited nervously to see what would happen, figured they were talking. Started to back away with the intention of just leaving so as not to cause any trouble, but then Ross came over. No, dude, go away, you guys don't like each other and it's COMPLICATED OKAY.
Ross wouldn't go away, though. Stood frozen, not sure what to do and feeling torn between friends again - first deciding whether he should follow Tsabhi or if that would bother her and the other friend vs. staying with Jhorla, now this. JHORLA. YOU MAKE LIFE COMPLICATED.
Z'ev kept glaring though so Roh gave a hasty bow and retreated. Z'ev moved then, too - not sure if he was keeping pace with Rohit or what, but then the poor white-furred stranger was over by Jhorla and Z'ev through a hissyfit over them instead. Watched at a distance, leaning against Ross for comfort. Felt bad for the stranger, but was pretty sure interfering would just make it worse. Jhorla and Z'ev left soon after that and Roh just... flopped down in a heap with Ross.
Moped for a little bit and talked with Ross, and was eventually dragged into a short sparring lesson. Learned a couple tricks, taking them to heart. Ross mentioned the rut indirectly and Roh got told to 'talk to your mum' about it. Not sure what that's supposed to mean - either it's super lame or super forbidden cool. Hm.
Trotted after Rossamund to go sit on Red Hill after the lesson, only to find the area in disarray with shredded trees everywhere. Was reasonably certain Ross was going to explode into a million knives and go kill somebody, but mostly he was just a poofy ball of anger and shouting.
Helped him clean up a little gravesite and had a long conversation with the buck where Roh failed miserably at turning the conversation to lighter things. Family is apparently not a good topic with Ross.

Woke to rain in the Forest. Found Ross and was dragged over to a herd - surprised to see so many deer in one place. Ross asked if he was going to spar. Asked what he meant, and only received a cheeky 'Watch' for an answer before Rossamund hopped over to a tall stag in the middle of the herd. A bit startled when they started to tussle, but compared to other fights he's seen it was pretty benign. Not exactly playful, but not really a fight either. Huh.
Got inspected by Ryff in the meantime, not sure what to make of the encounter. Deer everywhere ahmg what do. More interested in watching Ross and Lucchaine for the moment. After the Myling got back, asked what the point of the game was and got shoved into the sparring ring so to speak. Took his turn with Lucchaine and seemed to win the stag's approval; was invited to sit with the herd. Hung out with Ross and the rest of the deer for a couple of hours until Ross dozed off and he got restless again.

Found Circe next, with a deer he wasn't too familiar with but had seen in the distance with Tsabhi (Ronra). Figured it was a friend. Puzzled and a little riled by her desire to get up behind him to sniff; bristled, but aside from keeping his front to her as much as possible, didn't do much about it. Hopped around with Circe briefly, but spotted a big crowd a little ways off and went to say hi to Jhorla, who was among them. Inspected Idelle, who seemed to be Jhorla's friend. Hopped and skipped around, feeling showy for whatever reason, and drew Jhorla into some sparring. Roughhoused with her for a while, joined by Rota for a bit. Explosive energy everywheres!
Kept a wary eye on the deer who seemed to be guarding the herd, who seemed to be giving him the same sideways glances, but nobody did much else.
Ran over to Indi for quick snuggles during the antics, approved when Jhorla came over to say hi too. Then they were off causing chaos again.

At some point spotted Circe nearby and went to drag her into the fun. Soon had a VRY ANGREH RONRA on his butt, and gladly accepted the challenge. He's allowed to play with Circe! And apparently the Forest is into spars now so why not.
Started out pretty lighthearted, but quickly got drawn into the scuffle when Ronra started getting more serious. Pushing and shoving turned into running and kicking and antlering, and a couple experimental swings of his mask's tusks. Quickly learned to wait for Ronra to charge in, then turn and buck at her face while she lowered her antlers. Missed most of the time, but feet in your face is scary yo and that's the point. Of course, this also meant he got run over by the bulkier deer sometimes. Made the mistake of letting her clash with him head on more than once - ouch. Started trying to sneak around behind after that.

Eventually the two drew apart. Wasn't entirely sure who won or what got won, especially when Circe went to inspect them both - and inadvertently started Round 2, FIGHT - but at that point Roh was starting to get tired and didn't want the big bad to smush him, so things didn't last half as long.

Snuck a nuzzle to Circe when she next came to check on him, and ran away almost as soon as he touched her because he guessed 200% right that RONRA WAS BREATHING UP HIS BUTT AS SOON AS HE DID IT HELLO RONRA. Cackled once the charging lion had stopped, which only made her more mad. Ohwell.
Except then she was all over Jhorla and Idelle. Oh HAEEElllll naw.
Jumped between them and chased Ronra around a bit until she went away.

Squished himself between Idelle and Jhorla, quite content to have a lovely lady on each arm (and to be sandwiched between two warm bodies in the rain!). Hung out with them for the remainder of the evening, until both girls had departed. Still not fully understanding the whole Rut thing, but feeling oddly fulfilled and exhilarated. Took shelter beneath the Oak and dozed.

Found the Forest cloaked in a lovely twilight today. As much as he enjoyed the mud wrestling yesterday, the pretty atmosphere was a nice change. Also pleasantly surprised to have Abhiri come bounding up to him; much sister snuggles and hopping.
Then Jhorla came thundering in, too; much running and jumping!
Abhiri got winded a few times and had to sit down, but the small group's antics didn't slow too much. Somehow made their way to the playground. Roh climbed up the sloping stone and hopped his way across the rest, albeit a bit clumsily. Cheered on Abhiri when she did the same, and had a bit of a laugh at her second-guessing starts and stops as she prepared to leap the last gap. Celebrated a bit when she cleared it before settling down, expecting to be able to enjoy the view with his companions.
The girls had other ideas, though, and Rohit soon found himself surrounded by dancing hooves. Stumbled up and chased after his sister some more and gave Jhorla some raspberries while she wasn't paying enough attention, and then the group settled down for real. Not sure why Jhor tried to use his head as a chair but okay if you say so.

Abhiri got up to go look at something. Noticed Jhorla had snuck off, too. Followed after Abhiri and noticed some scuffling going on not too far away; got closer to watch a big red stag (Gustiro) go after one of the deer from the day before. Inspected Emmy while the big guys duked it out (she didn't seem terribly interested in letting him close though), then joined Jhorla to watch the show while Abhiri went and socialized with some of the mingling judges. Then noticed Gus had taken a sudden interest in his sister. NOPE.
Charged in to give the bull a good kick as he dashed by, and drew Gus's attention away from Abhiri. Not really sure what to do with it after that, but figured he'd gotten that far, may as well jump in all the way.

Tried to stay out of the way of Gustiro's tremendous antlers while still landing a few blows of his own here and there. Lots of running in circles resulted, as well as a few good bashes from the bull. Tried out his mask's tusks again, but totally missed amid all the dodging in and out. Distantly aware of Abhiri freaking out and a number of eyes on the pair as they squared each other up. Recognized he'd gotten in over his head (FOR HIS SISTER'S HONOR!!1) and considered backing down when Rossamund came into view behind Gus. When the big bull turned to regard the newcomer, took the opportunity to charge. Worked in tandem with Ross and made quick work of sending Gustiro packing.

Exhilarated with their joint victory; would've high-fived the other buck if they'd had hands, but as it was made do with some manly chest bumps and nuzzles. Because greeting nuzzles are manly okay. Said hello to Saadi and Henna (why do I know you), and got an earful from Abhiri, but was too excited to care - at least until he realized the other member of his mini-not-a-herd wasn't so excited and was keeping her distance. Lost his smile pretty quickly when he noticed Jhorla was moving away rather than joining the small congratulatory crowd. Soon remembered that she and Ross didn't mesh for whatever reason and found himself torn between friends again. On one hand, Ross just helped him win a fight. On the other, he was hanging out with Jhorla first. Would feel bad ditching either one for the other.

Ended up just standing in the middle again and being a mess of uncertainty until both Ross and Jhorla had gone elsewhere. UUUUGH.
Figured Ross was okay and could have the group he'd left behind, since he seemed happy to be with Henna and the lot; trailed after Jhorla only to find that Ramsus had beaten him to her. Stood in a flower patch and deliberated some more, generally feeling awful, before deciding he should just sit at the Oak and call it a night. Didn't expect Jhorla to run up to him almost as soon as he'd made it to the tree, and also didn't expect the enthusiastic? nuzzly greeting. Gave Ramsus a polite bow and got a head bob in return, so at least that worked out okay. Let Jhorla go snug with her dad and settled down in his usual place by the oak, mumbling Om gam ganapataye to himself. Father and daughter settled in nearby. Still not sure how to feel about the whole mess. Mostly sad, tired, and frustrated. And bruised.

Sat in the birch forest for a while and zoned out for a while, lost in the fog. Suddenly a giant dragon face loomed out of the mists. HELLO Z'EV HOW ARE YOU holy crap slow down heart. Scrambled to get up in case the other meant to cause trouble and looked around frantically for Jhorla in hopes she might've put him up to it and Z'ev hadn't just decided to come over and eat him. Z'ev sniffed him and eventually backed off as Jhorla became partially visible in the fog - not sure if her presence saved him or what, but they both vanished into the mist shortly after. Dramatic.
Well that was weird...
Eventually went wandering and hung out with Luc/Kari's herd for a while, mostly staying on the outskirts. Got a very brisk investigation from the older stag, as well as a very tiny one (Rune) that he had a hard time taking seriously. Not really in a mood to spar, so Roh decided to just watch Luc do his thang. Joined by Ross a little while after that.
Got a pretty good show when a GIANT FLOATY-HEAD DRAGON showed up. Nope'd the hell out of the way of the brawl. Looked at Ross like he'd grown an extra head when the Myling told him to stay out of the fight. Who the hell would get involved in that?
At almost the same time, had gone to suggest to Ross that they go make their own herd, since this one was kinda crazy just then. Got an 'okay' and they both... stood there for a while.
Finally motivated himself to actually go do something and set out to find some stags to challenge. Came across another challenger playing with two small does, but he up and vanished while Roh was sizing him up. Took the opportunity to sweep Gia and Arry off their feet (okay not really) by picking up the play time where the other buck had left off. Then everybody settled down. Complimented Gia on her feathers and tried to find something nice to say to Arry that wouldn't sound horribly superficial but failed miserably. She is pretty though. And girls smell really nice right now, it's kinda weird.
Kept guard while Ross took a nap, though no one actually came over to challenge the boys. A couple of deer got close to the mini herd and set him on edge, though.
Then Indi came up and joined them around the time the two ladies departed for bed or somesuch. Then Jokerman. And then he noticed Abhiri playing with Jhorla in the distance. Oh, great, more Jhorla-Rossamund conflict ahead.
In a bit of a mood, went to sulk next to his mother for a little bit. Except she went to go sit with JM. Well fine, I'll sit with Ross. Saw Z'ev over by Abhiri at one point and went to investigate and make sure the weirdo wasn't bugging his sister. Not sure how he felt about it when she insisted he wasn't, but went to go sit near Indi and Jo. Unwilling to get close to either Jhor or Ross just then, in case of dramas. Enough's enough gais.
Slowly coming to some internal realizations regarding the conflict between his assortment of friends.
Ended up roughhousing with Ross and Abhiri eventually, mostly because they followed him when he set out to go be moody. Tried to ditch them and sit down a few times, but it didn't really work; he ended up getting danced on and raspberried. Splashed in the pond and chased 'Bhiri around, trying to shake water all over her. Nearly ran into a huge lion-stag (Ezekiel) and Mjolner's brood. Pleased when Vidarr jumped into the play; encouraged him to be a brat. : I Because he's adorable when he does it.
Finally managed to sit down for a minute, but then more Abhiri dancing and trying to get him up.
Groaned and acted sick, blamed it on the pond water.
Of course, that can only mean one thing...

Chased after Abhiri and Ross some more. Eventually 'Bhiri turned to fight him to save Ross, so he slobbered all over her and made her a zombie, too. Then they both chased after Ross and almost bashed into a few groups of deer (SORRY, SORRY, 'SCUSE ME, ZOMBIES COMING THROUGH VRY IMPORTNT). Ross even managed to get Rohit to crash almost head first into a giant birch tree while the kudu hybrid was intent on catching the Myling, dodging nimbly out of the way and making a sharp turn that Rohit couldn't mimic with his stockier frame. WHUMPH. Had to stand still for a few moments, dazed, and lost track of his quarry. Set off after him again when Abhiri caught up, only to be pulled aside by Indi to say goodnight. Then back after Ross!
Found him up in a tree by the pond. Hollered for Abhiri to come quick and got her up on his shoulders to knock him out of the tree. Ross turned into a bird, which was both genius and dumb because then he was (lovingly) squished and drooled on.
Everybody exhausted, the group dozed off together.

Came across Circe shortly after getting up from a nap. Played with her a bit and was led towards the river. Greatly displeased to find Circe was looking for Ronra. Got huffy with the other deer and tried to start a spar with her - he had Circe first, after all, not gonna steal her again! - but Ronra mostly just laughed and shrugged him off. Miffed.
Followed Circe (and Ronra mumblegrumble) to a nearby herd, and while Ronra was busy locking antlers with the big competitor, Roh figured he might as well try his luck and took on Jovan after being inspected by one of the herd's judges (Nyx). They drew apart after a bit (after some repeated interferences by Ronra trying to escape her opponent), and Rohit was content to call it a draw. Glad to find Circe suddenly at his side, though no one else seemed to be forthcoming. Ronra came over shortly after, followed by Nyx. Grudgingly joined the little celebration, mostly to please Circe because it's rude to rain on someone's parade and he's not rude like Ronra. Eventually the group sat down, more or less in a pile.

Eyed some shapes not too far off, couldn't pinpoint a competitor guarding the little herd and went over to investigate. As the distance he had to peer through fog lessened, realized a couple (Zol, Cassiopea) were does from the night before - though they seemed preoccupied with chatter. Inspected Accendare, who got up to look at him - only to realize with horror that Luc was watching him from the shadowy mist nearby. WHOOPS MY BAD, Luc's actually kinda okay in his book right now; didn't want to be stealing his crowd without a fair fight. Bowed awkwardly to 'Dare and hightailed it back to his own little group.

Spent the remainder of the evening essentially playing chess with Ronra, with the ultimate goal of Circe's favor. Eventually stopped playing because he cared and started playing because it was entertaining/just to get on Ronra's nerves. Dozed off next to Circe at some point while Ronra stood over them; the lion may have gotten to play 'dominant guard' or whatever, but he got the snuggles!

The fog finally lifted! Perused the Rutting scene, watching several ongoing spars as he wandered past. Paused when he noticed Rossamund, and noticed a little too late that another challenger (Eve) was staring at him. Got rushed by the doe and, taken aback, retaliated only briefly and mostly sought to dodge her tines. Eventually bounced behind Rossamund, who'd finally come over, and things settled down. Ross tried to introduce the pair properly, but Roh wasn't sure he wanted to get close enough to exchange sniffs with the feisty deer just then. Ross went off to do other things, insisting Rohit stay put. Absentmindedly agreed, then moved forward to watch The Red go at it with a huge demon-y horse thing. Pretty epic fight, as far as he was concerned.

Wandered off on his own again, pretty much forgetting to stay put, and came upon a small herd with two challengers at its head. Had met and sparred Jovan the day before, but Mandel was a new face. The judges seemed curious and came over to greet him, one by one, though one doe in particular seemed keen on keeping the others back in the safety of the herd. A little smug when they ignored her. Said hello to Sabel and Nemesis and sized up each of the bucks when they came over to inspect him. Showed off a little, bucking and kicking at the air and generally strutting around, but neither of the other challengers seemed interested in a spar. The judges didn't seem to be budging, either.

Figuring he wasn't going to get anything out of the group, gave them a bow and walked away. Apparently Mandel realized why Rohit had been there, then, because he trotted after the hybrid and initiated a challenge. Gladly accepted and got into a scuffle with the male. The two went at it for a while, with lots of antlering and kicking between them. Drew apart several times to catch a breath, only to have Mandel start things up again. Managed at one point to get himself between Mandel and the herd, at which point Nemesis came up to him and Sabel went to Mandel. Stared at the pretty little doe for a moment, at first confused but then quite pleased. Bowed to his opponent and departed with his very own judge. Brought her to meet Rossamund, of course, but hardly got a glance from the buck, who was doing... something at the ruins, talking to some other deer or something.

Shrugged it off and went to find somewhere to rest. Came across Eve again and figured she's probably alright if Ross thinks so; shared a flower patch with her and her remaining judge. Got up and brought Nem along with him to go look into some rattling antlers nearby, found Eve and Ross already ahead of them. The match was already over, though, and the group was joined by Gia and Arry. Recognized them from the other day and said hello, played about a little bit.

Then the lot got it into their heads to form a huge herd, since they already had a racket going. Followed Ross to Red Hill, where they encountered Alain. Encouraged when Nyx and another judge rose to inspect him while Ross took on the Competitor; tried to hop and skip away with them, and nearly succeeded when Alain caught on and moved the whole herd. Darn.

Eve joined them at the base of Red Hill; Idelle and Briony joined the herd. Also joined by Pica, whom Rossamond dragged into the group. Pondered setting out to obtain more judges when he noticed a large ram-horned stag (Rahal) and Isabeau coming down the hill. Became increasingly edgy and suspicious about Rahal as he circled the group, gradually getting closer. Tried not to pay Isabeau too much mind as she ran crazy circles around him - not sure if she was egging him on or stirring up the judges, but Rahal was presenting a pretty clear threat as he paced. Hesitant to take him on unless necessary due to the other being... well, about twice his size. Did antler him away from the judges when he got too gutsy, though, and the pair started to spar. Had to repeatedly draw him away from the group of judges to avoid the fight being driven in among them; frustrated that he kept getting pushed back among them when he put himself between Challenger and herd, and that Rahal ignored him and did what he pleased when Rohit got him to turn around so that they would move away from the herd instead. Idelle seemed to help defend the smaller does, though - glad for that. Got pretty heated with the fight, though he did his best to stay out of the way of the bigger deer's horns and take on his backside instead when he wasn't getting thrown around trying to keep him off of the judges; not entirely displeased when Isiel showed up and he ran off. Bowed to his friend's mother and eyed Isabeau suspiciously, not sure what she'd been up to while he was grappling with her friend; from the corners of his tunnel vision it looked like she was harrassing his judges, too. Not overly fond of either deer just then.

Things calmed down after that, and willingly followed Idelle as she rounded up the herd and moved them up the hill. Stood guard for a few minutes before flopping down to rest and nurse some deeper scratches. Took turns with the other Challengers to alternately guard the herd and go scouting for potential spars and judges, but returned empty-handed. Still tired, dozed off at some point.

Woke alone and peacocked. thx, gaiz.
Found Idelle on a neighboring hill, but she looked like she was engaged in conversation with a rather formidable-looking stag (Ezekiel). Noticed Jhorla nearby and trotted over to her instead. Confused when she retreated to the hills of the birch, but followed cautiously. Stood with her for a while, only settling down after she did. Feeling weird about things in general, but not sure why.

After Jhorla departed, went and found Ross and Pica, who were... drunk as skunks. Acted as the boring designated driver for a while and turned his nose up at the awful-smelling nastiness they offered him. Opted to sit by a tree for a while instead, and dozed off.

Woke up two-thirds peacocked and charged after Ronra just as she threw a white pelt on him. Chased her halfway across the Forest to prove his point, then returned to the river.

TEF CRASHED AND ALL THE DEER WENT AWAY

Hung out with Ross and Pica some more. Ross went to play with some wolfy deer. Chatted with Pica briefly, but noticed someone staring at them. No... staring at Pica. She and Gretai started fighting, but Ross didn't look concerned with it so Roh decided he wasn't really, either.
She came back eventually, huffing and puffing. Left the two siblings to catch up while he went to catch up on some meditation time. Settled at a small pine still within earshot of the Oak's hum and focused.

Suddenly there was a white deer on either side of him, staring. Thoroughly creeped out; got to his feet and switched his gaze back and forth between the eerie pair. One - the one without a veil - kept dodging closer to his hindquarters and taking a quick sniff, then darting away again as if he expected retaliation. Not really in the mood to do so, however, aside from doing what he could to keep his front or sides to both deer; definitely didn't trust them enough to put his back to them. Lots and lots of head tilting from both sides. Seemed like one did it every time he did.

The pair got distracted and disappeared after apparently deciding Rohit was boring, so he resumed his meditations while keeping an occasional eye on the white deer - who were playing with some fawns nicely enough. Lost track of them after they crossed the river, at least until one - again the one without the veil - dashed in front of him and cowered. Found out why when Gretai barreled into him shortly thereafter. Startled, couldn't do much more but fumble to get out of the way. Not sure what the deer had done to earn Gretai's wrath, and wasn't keen on interfering. Made his way back to Ross and Pica amid the chaos that erupted, with pretty much everyone who was awake suddenly involved. Assured them he was alright and they assured him they were alright. Content to let that be that until he noticed the two white deer circling and apparently harassing a doe (Evelys) in the distance. Nudged Ross and went to her aid, getting between her and the whites while Ross took a more direct approach. Went to bail him out after the pair tackled him together. That continued to be the theme as everyone chased everyone else around the Forest; things would settle for a moment, and then someone would taunt or leap at someone again and off they'd all go. Eventually wound up in the birch where Roh and Pica jumped in front of Ross before he could start in again; the pair convinced the Myling to back off, but the veiled deer kept looking after them expectantly. Noticed the head tilting mimicry again and tested the hypothesis; interest piqued when it was confirmed. Much to Ross's chagrin, stayed behind and played "Simon Says" with the veiled deer while Evelys interacted with the other one.

After a long process (and Ross's very grumpy departure), managed to get Kudzu to nod, bow, and even dance - and then got close enough to sniff the other. Kudzu sprang away and cowered. Surprised at the volatile reaction, but aside from backing up a bit tried not to react. Invited the other to approach him instead and nodded encouragement at the baby steps. Sat down, and was more than pleased to have the other sit beside him. Success! Evelys seemed to be doing well with 'taming' Kubiru, too; the pair were dancing and having a grand time, and eventually joined Kudzu and Rohit in a little sitting circle.

Brief interaction with Idelle, Matthew, and oh my gosh where did all these deer come from. A little overwhelmed, went and sat at the Oak for a while.

Later on, found Idelle sitting by herself and offered her some company. Not long after, she decided it was time to get up and play and hauled him around half the Forest. Amused, tried to keep up with the taller doe. Joined in some shenanigans with her and Jhorla and Isiel at the Crying Idol. Sat with Ross for a bit until Ross dozed off in the flower patch, then went to see where the girls had gotten off to. Noticed Z'ev a little too late when he got to the group, but seemed to be getting a minimal reaction so he jumped in anyway (after TEF stopped being stupid and disconnecting).

Gave Jhorla a raspberry when she held still for too long at some point, as was pretty typical for him with any interaction between friends, and found Z'ev hurtling towards him. Sprung away and stomped a hoof at the other, irritated by the needless interruption. Couldn't be sure whether it was exacerbation from all the times Z'ev had prodded at him, the cocktail of hormones from the rut and the onset of puberty, or some terrible blend of the two which caused him to start pushing at the boundaries Z'ev set in place, but he did. Started by walking around Jhorla, which riled Z'ev again. Then during a stare-off, inched closer to Jhorla until Z'ev sat down. Stood shoulder to shoulder with her, which he also didn't like, but he only got up briefly. Dropped the last straw when he groomed the hair on Jhorla's shoulders the way many of his friends had done for him; figured it might be what broke the camels back and was ready when Z'ev came barreling in again. Took part in a brief scuffle, appalled when Z'ev pushed Jhorla back and out of the way like he owned her. Angry staring contest ensued, then Jhorla left for the Idol. After a few more tense moments in which some part of him hoped for a better chance at a brawl to settle their differences man-to-man, Z'ev followed her. Furious, shrugged off his mother when she approached from behind and trotted off, stomping. Fluttered around for a minute, flustered, until Indi approached him again. Scoffed and moved away again, and again. Was just about ready to shout at her to go away, refusing to be comforted, when...

SOMETHING happened, and the Forest crapped out and Ivi couldn't get back in for like 15 minutes. srry mom.

Forest working again, went on a little mini-rampage and tore into pretty much any tree that he came across. Tempted to start a few fights with some of the Competitors and Challengers who were around, but was at least with it enough to not take it out on innocent parties (trees aside). Blew off steam in the Blue Bowl for a while, eventually staining his ruddy pelt a dark mess of red-violet, but was too angry to care that his flashy fur had been ruined. Flopped next to the pine tree he'd been at the night before, half an eye on a mostly-obscured Z'ev and Jhorla over by the pond. Fumed until he managed to calm his mind enough to focus on some mantras.

Reached a few of his own conclusions after a number of repetitions of 'om gam ganapataye namaha'. Not happy with them, but it is what it is, and he asked Ganesha for them, after all.

Got huffy with Ross when he came over in the midst of his meditations, followed by Abhiri. Got up and went off on his own again, first to sit by a long and then to take a long, slow walk around the border between the birch and the First Forest. Ended up settling by a random tree and just staring into space for a while.

Feeling a little better today. Moped around for a bit, watched Ross follow Cole around like a lovesick puppy, Circe was with family and when he thought about maybe going to say hi after she moved back into the birch without them, noticed Ronra go by so nope.
A little fawn came up and acted all timid; invited it over, and eventually she worked up the courage to sit with him.

Finally went up to Ross and was kinda apologetically sulky. Sat and watched Ross play with Cole and Jovan.

End of Rut Results

Feeling restless, pent up energy. Itching to get up and move almost constantly. Feeling unusually social, frequently seeking out others and avoiding alone time.

Still young; no interest in breeding and mostly focused on having fun, meeting other deer, and making a nuisance of himself. May make a game out of collecting deer or seeing how many of his friends he can round up at once.

Will likely be wearing his warthog mask for the duration of the Rut. Shaking (listen + listen) may be interpreted as use of the mask's tusks during a spar. Or maybe just raspberries if he's being silly.
Fighting style varies, as he is still learning and still only about half his adult size. Unlikely to fight seriously with most deer, though he may be drawn into bigger battles in the right circumstances. Not particularly interested in being majorly injured - or dishing out major damage to someone else.

Been hanging around the Oak for the most part, of late. Ran into a whole crew of cats + Stria the other day, was pretty much buried in a Ronra-Circe-thatoneguyHraeplayswhosenameI'mreallybadatremembering-Stria-and-even-Umay fluff pile at one point. Had dozed off right before Umay came up and opened his eyes to find giant The Mrs. Lion all up in his business. May or may not have freaked out internally for a few moments. Noticed Circe staring off into the distance, went to check on her but never really figured out what she was staring at (her brother, Roh, you're so unobservant). Much napping. Some debating over a few trees and flower patches, trying to figure out a good spot to set up 'home base' at. Strong preference for some areas where the Oak is audible, but not overwhelming.

Slow day. Wandered here and there, eventually settling on a hill near the tiger family's home. Ronra joined him at some point, not sure how he felt about that but company's company sometimes.
Got restless after a while and went to poke around the Oak for a bit. Found a nice triangle of trees and tried it out for size - pretty nice. Soon got up again, though, and strolled around. Eyed Jhorla with a fawn as he passed the Ruins, debating on whether he should be the bigger person and go say hi when Nikhil zoomed out of nowhere and took a couple of swings at them, Ramsus hot on his tail.

Galloped over and stood guard over the pair. Debated jumping in to help Ramsus, but also recognized that Nikhil was tied in with Circe somehow and leaving would leave Jhorla and the fawn (Rajani) open for attack again, so... stayed put.
Somewhat relived when Jhorla pulled the fawn to a safer distance; followed, but at a distance so that he could continue watching the fight and ensure that it didn't head their way, or that he could get between the groups if it did.

Still, a little sour at the buck's appearance. Whatever, more antlers to fight if they needed them. Ugh.
The fight ended pretty shortly thereafter, though. Hung around long enough to make sure everyone was alright. Grateful at least Isiel acknowledged him; returned her bow shyly. Still feeling pretty stung by the whole situation, though.
Retreated to a distance where he could keep an eye on the family, as well as Nikhil and Shardul until they vanished in the distance. Then the Ramsiel crew left for their home tree, as well.
Sulked until Ronra came and tackled him. Panicked at first, thought she was mad at him for being indirectly involved with the whole Nikhil thing, but then it looked like she was just being her usual turd-y self. Shoved at her a few times when she got uppity and ignoring her antics didn't work; wasn't really in the mood for play, and a recent conversation about 'the wrong kind of people' was playing in the back of his head as he caught sight of Ramsus again.
Turned out she just wanted to show off her new tree, though. Grudgingly followed and politely oohed and ahhed at her new cat pad before settling in. Some minutes later, Ronra got back up and stared at something over his shoulder. Got up as well and turned around to find Jhorla watching them. Got a better look-over to make sure she was really alright after the earlier scuffle, and a little thank you nuzzle as well. Disappointed that he just felt... sad and disappointed afterward, and the pair said their goodbyes.

Being a teenager is hard, man.

Hung out in one of his favored test-homes by the oak - a patch of flowers with a mushroom tree. Felt eyes on him after a while and turned around to see Jhorla up on the nearby hill, staring at him. Stared back for a minute until she came over and asked if she could sit with him. Looked around to see if Z'ev was going to jump out of a bush and rip his head off, but no sign of the beastie so figured it would be okay for a little while. Sat with Jhor for some time, people-watching and enjoying the quiet as much as he could between jerking to look at every set of running hooves that came within earshot, expecting it to be Mr. Teeth. Disgruntled that he can't just enjoy a friend's company without fretting over who might show up any more.

More rain. Pleasantly surprised to find a giant mushroom umbrella had sprouted beside his preferred flower patch. Huddled under it and tried to stay relatively dry, but every gust of wind made it impossible to actually call it more than 'damp'.
Also surprised when Jhorla came up to say hello. Wondered if she'd sit again, but it seemed not; a couple nuzzles later she was gone. Watched her vanish over the ridge by the little river, then sat again.
Deliberated for a while when he noticed she didn't go back the way she'd come again and eventually wandered over to investigate. Found her half submerged and almost asked 'but aren't you wet' but caught himself because duh. It's raining. What's some pond water going to do.
Stood around awkwardly after she clambered out, not really sure what he'd wanted or why he'd gone over. Vaguely hopeful things would start to normalize again, maybe. Extra awkwardness with a random nameless thrown in there, too.
Spotted Z'ev on the horizon, though, and quickly decided he didn't feel like burying the chance for 'normal' in the mud, metaphorically or literally. Snuck in a quick good-bye nuzzle and retreated to his mushroom again; watched Jhorla make a beeline for the dragon, then watched Z'ev walk off. So much for avoiding a scene.

Totally oblivious to being watched until he'd made up his mind, rehearsed and rehashed some crappy lines in his head a dozen times, steeled himself, and plodded halfway to the pond. As he rounded one of the willow trees and spotted Jhorla - with company - he noticed an odd splashy echo and turned around to find some fawn not only following him, but copying his every move. Not sure what to do with the little kid. Normally would've found it endearing, but not really in the mood. Making Big Boy (tm) decisions here, kid. You're interrupting.
...Except he didn't really want to bother Jhorla if she was with a friend she's actually allowed to be with.

Stared at the fawn for a few more moments, then decided it didn't need to be cold and/or wet and flopped on top if it.

It's still raining!
Moped under his mushroom most of the day. Decided to get up and look for Jhorla at some point, but didn't have any luck. Moseyed over to Circe's home and found her snoozing with family; set off again and bumped into Nikhil and Shardul. Kinda headbobbed at Nikhil in passing, bowed to Shardul when he came over to inspect Roh while he tried to dry off a little under a mushroom. Quietly pleased that the older tiger-hybrids acknowledged him. Because tigers, yo.
Random search for the Forest's biggest mushroom. Found some pretty big ones.
Hopped about a bit, splashed in mud puddles like a kid, trying to chase away some of the blues. Worked a little, but got him pretty dirty. Scuttled off to the Oak to dry off more thoroughly, and to warm up. Brr.
Much later, made rounds again. Circe wasn't home any more. Jhorla was, but there was Z'ev and nnnh. Pass.
Flopped under his mushroom again and dozed.

Tired of watching the rain fall from under his mushroom; sought out a new vantage point and spent a good portion of his day under the slanted rock at the Playground. Joined by a trio of intimidating strangers. ...Well, he knew of Lieva, but does that count? Anyway, left Lee, Rota, and Romulus (ohgeeze big and sharp and pointy) to wander some more. Trudged by Jhorla's home and found her tucked away with her parents, Z'ev near by but sound asleep. Twiddled his (metaphorical) thumbs awkwardly, half hoping Jhorla wouldn't realize he was there, but she did and came over.
Grabbed his Big Boy pants and tried not to fumble too much in the conversation that ensued, then retired to his little corner of the Forest for the night.
Except not, because he noticed Rossamund getting stashed away in the Oak not long after he got to his flower patch. Huddled with the Myling, who looked a fair sight better than he had the last time Rohit had seen him.

Woke to the sound of crickets instead of the constant barrage of raindrops. Relieved, and at the same time found the change in the Forest's symphony eerie after drifting off to the pitter-patter for so long. Got up and stretched his legs for a bit; took note of Eve sitting outside the Oak and went over to sniff and say hi. Ross woke up about then, too, so Rohit returned to the Oak and plunked himself down again.
Eventually realized Ross was glaring at someone outside who was acting oddly, but not really unfriendly. Poked his head out to investigate Soet, only to have the wolfy thing dodge around him and trot into the Oak. Figured he was one of Ross's friends visiting or something and returned to the tree as well. More weirdness, and Soet soon departed, to be replaced by Circe and a tiny fawn. Got up yet again to say hello, then settled in once more.

Finally got a chance (and the nerve) to go talk to Jhorla. Somewhat reassured by the conversation.

Left Ross in Talla's care, since they seemed to be chatting, and went hunting for the tree he'd stashed last Christmas's gifts in. Retrieved the little bundle and returned to his little flower patch. Stashed away the things he wouldn't be needing right away, then occupied himself with a little craft project. Desperately wishing for some thumbs, but determined to complete it anyway. Humming/chanting to himself while he works, occasionally pausing to watch Circe, Ronra, and Umay frolic and spar around the Oak. Almost cheerful.

Got dragged into the roughhousing later on; fussed at Ronra for knocking his things about as she charged in, and quickly stashed his project in a cubbyhole. More fussing when Ronra followed him and stamped about in the ferns covering his things. Bounced around for a while, got inspected by Umay (and was approved? idk), more romping. Got snuggly with Circe, partly to annoy Ronra - who didn't seem to notice and ran off with Umay. Whatever, more tiger snuggles for me.
Got up for some reason (think Umay/Ronra barreled through and Circe got up or something), but then Circe fussed at him and kept pointing. Wondered if she was demanding he get back in the snuggle pile or was trying to make Ronra jealous, but going back to her just made her run off IDK GIRLS ARE WEIRD AND CONFUSING OKAY.
Bowed back to a couple of nameless (or at least very naked deer) who SPELLED THE EVERLIVIN' OUT OF HIM holy cow did not know that was possible. Dazzled by the barrage of lights. Everyone was on another hill with another cat (Rojan) by the time he recovered; trotted over. Cast a spell on Umay while Ivi was fiddling with the controls to see how the craziness happened, whoopsie. Got his mask knocked off in return. Ran around for a minute before scuttling back to retrieve it, then stashed it away with his other things so it wouldn't get lost.
Some more shenanigans, hopping in and out of fairy rings, sitting by logs while Circe tumbled on and off them, and then a giant cat pile. Plopped himself down on the other side of the tree they'd picked.

NAP TIME while player did stuff.

Woke with only Ross by his side... hello Ross where did you come from and where did the kitties go.
Scooted out from where he'd gotten wedged between the Myling and the tree, careful not to wake him, made sure there were no crazies around to eat Ross in the minute he'd be gone, and trotted over to his tree to retrieve what he'd been working on earlier. Settled down beside his friend and resumed work, humming a different set of mantras quietly while keeping an eye on Ross.

The Myling woke shortly after, however. Surprised when he sat up, and quickly apologized - though it turned out Ross just happened to wake up and it wasn't Roh's fault. Got some help with his crafting; Ross turned into a bird (geeze, never going to get used to that) and helped thread the beads. Chatted while they worked, educated Ross on things like school and museums. Shocked when Ross announced he might be able to get his family back to India.

The pair checked around for prying eyes (ohgeeze if Ama finds out... But really, Indi, who can resist an offer to visit to a castle?) but found only Circe and Nikhil nearby, and Jhorla passing by to say hello. Further stunned when Rossamund just up and vanished into thin air after telling him to 'wait here.' Inched around to where he'd disappeared from and tried to figure it out for a couple minutes. Sat down to wait what felt like an eternity. Shortly before he officially decided Ross had either gotten lost or eaten and he needed to find a parental-type-person ASAP, the Myling poofed back and landed on top of him. Owww.
Got over it pretty quickly when Ross told him it was safe to go through the portal, though, and hardly hesitated to grab his things and jump through with him.
Found himself completely human on the other side.

Woke in his flower patch and noticed Umay pacing nearby. Mildly concerned for the lion, but didn't want to intrude on someone he was barely acquainted with. Kept an eye on her while he deliberated, and eventually the source of her vexation revealed itself. Watched a big blue stag egg on a zombie stag. Garnered that Umay knew the blue stag somehow and didn't want him... harrassing the other deer? Playing? It was hard to tell at times as they went from posturing and bucking to casting spells at each other. Noticed the zombie guy staring at him at one point, and was relieved when Walter distracted him. No trouble for me today, pls.
Then zombie guy returned and did some posturing at Roh. Played dumb and head tilted and bowed until Walter pulled him off again. Not sure who was the antagonist and who was the victim any more, between those two. Maybe it was mutual.
Noticed Jhorla as the scuffle? and its spectators moved into the distance, and gestured her over. Watched the event fizzle out and settled in among the petals, Jhor beside him.
After a while, remembered/figured he should fetch something before he got interrupted, since that seems to happen a lot when Jhorla's around. Retrieved the second mala he'd made from last year's Christmas gift beads and gave the little craft to the doe. Gave a brief explanation when she asked what it was, but pretty sure most of the 'not quite a necklace' bit went out the other ear. Still pleased.
Enjoyed continued quiet company and the thrum of the nearby Oak until Isabeau thrust her way between him and Jhorla. A little disgruntled, but mostly ignored her antics - and occasionally leaned obnoxiously back against her when she 'stretched' a little too much. Considered just getting up and moving to Jhorla's other side, but couldn't be bothered with the possibility of a petty game of musical chairs.
The second Jhorla was off to bed and out of sight, both parties got up without a word and went their own ways; saw no need to tolerate Isa's extreme closeness unless he had to, and couldn't deny he was glad to see the pushy thing out of his 'house'. Hmf.

After a rambunctious sleepover with Ross, wherein Ross was peacocked for being the first one to fall asleep, woke to find his 'house' full of strangers, so went and found somewhere else to sit. Soon joined by the Myling; much romping ensued. Posed around one of the giant mushrooms like the big doofuses they are. Hung out with Ama and Jo when they came around. Then they left and Ross was asleep so Roh wandered off to go see who was around and HELLO AGAIN MOM. Messed around with Indi for a bit, totally sidetracked from his original path around the Forest. Ended up near the poppy patch, where Jhorla's family was all gathered. Pretty content to hang out with his own family, though, as they re-convened in a flower patch. Even Abhiri turned up for the cuddle pile! Watched Idelle walk over to Ramsus and Isiel + Co. with a fawn in tow, and some teeny tiny fawns he hadn't seen before get up to see them. Babies everywhere. Distantly recalled Isiel had been looking rather gravid the last time he'd seen her, and eventually put two and two together.

Curled up next to a nearby mushroom after the rest of his own family had wandered off. Hung out with Jo for a little bit before she left, too. Couldn't be bothered to walk all the way home to figure out if the strangers had left or not, and simply dropped off to sleep where he was at.

Found the Forest covered in snow, with more falling from a darkened sky. Pretty, but very cold. Took a walk to warm himself up and see if he could find anybody to share some body heat with, or at least somewhere less open than his flower patch. Wandered toward the birch woods, since Ross likes to hang out there and Jhorla's and Circe's families are over there. Took note of Z'ev sleeping by Jhor's place, but didn't catch sight of the doe until he'd gotten a little closer to the birch. Watched her hop around with one of the teenyboppers and weighed the pros and cons of going over to say hello.

Eventually curiosity got the best of him and he moseyed over. A little disappointed when the youngster stopped playing and hid under Jhorla, but Icarus seemed to warm up to him pretty quickly after he'd given the little guy a bow and catered to him a bit. Greeted Jhorla after, and was quickly nuzzled by Icarus in imitation after. Amused. Gave him a hug, too.

Romped around with the pair for a good while until Icarus suddenly decided it was time to go home. Broke off when he realized where the fawn was headed and watched from a distance, not sure what to do with himself since Z'ev was RIGHT THERE but the little kid was giving him big puppy eyes and insisting he go over. Soon realized that there is no resisting puppy eyes and you just have to make the kid happy or else he'll cry and that's awful and he would be a terrible person and we can't have sad children okay.

Got a little closer, and eventually made it all the way into the flower patch. Nope, still not close enough according to Iccy. Stood directly in front of the fawn, who promptly flopped down. Hesitated another few moments before sitting with just enough space between him and Jhorla and the fawn that maybe he wouldn't get his head ripped off if someone woke up.

It looked like Z'ev was intent on sleeping through the night, though, so eventually he relaxed - though Ramsus gave him a start when the giant sat up for a while. Dozed off and on for a little bit before deciding he'd better not crash where he was at for the sake of his neck and keeping things civil with Mr. Dragon. Thought about going to hang out with Ross, since he wasn't too far off, but the Myling was hanging out with Cole and ahmg it's 1 AM, time for him to go to sleep. Gave the two next to him a quick snug since they seemed pretty sleepy, too, and trotted off to bed.

Mostly boring couple of weeks. Got slobbered on by Tsabhi early on while he was apparently out cold for the night. Kept an eye out for her for several days following but failed to cross paths with her again. Bumped into Ross here and there, as usual. Couple of family days. Hung out with Circe & fam and had a nice chat, added another 'student' to his list. Apparently he's becoming Guru Rohit or something. Lots of lazy days listening to the Oak and taking strolls through the woods, looking for a change in scenery. Home's nice and all but you can only stare at the pond for so long before you get a little stir-crazy.

Rain. Rain rain rain. Sulked in his flower patch for a while because the mushroom didn't come up this time, so aside from the not-very-helpful trees he didn't have much shelter. Went looking for somewhere drier, or at least with someone he could share warmth with. In doing so, passed by the birch's edge and thought he caught sight of a familiar tiger pelt but wasn't sure until sure enough Tsabhi clambered up the hill to greet her family. Stood around awkwardly for a minute but decided he didn't want to disturb the group right after she'd gotten there, and meandered off. Passed by the playground and noted Ramsus's giant figure under the rocks, figured the family had abandoned home for drier prospects, too. The Forest seemed pretty normal and quiet otherwise. Looped back around to home, sulked some more, then went to give Tsabhi an appropriate hello.
Hopped around with her like a derp briefly, made a pitiful attempt to mimic the greeting chuff she gave him, and then she bolted after someone else. Wasn't entirely certain whether they were playing or fighting (kinda the same thing sometimes?!) but eventually concluded it was just roughhousing. Settled in with Circe until things became notably tense. Kept hearing a vaguely familiar call in the distance, which the tigers seemed to be responding to. Not really sure what all the fuss was about, but kept alert in case something should happen. Suddenly, STRIA. Startled by her sudden, volatile appearance but apparently the tiger fam greets people by colliding at full speed. Okay then. Lost track of Circe at some point, only to have her replaced with Tsabhi again. Endured some aggressive cuddling and gave a proper hello to Stria. Eventually the group ended up standing side by side and pretty much staring at nothing until everybody dropped off to bed. More tiger snuggles with Tsabhi. Zzz.

Today, came across Tsabhi on a hill near his home. Can't have her catching cold snoozing out in the rain by herself, now, can we. Settled in next to her and promptly dozed off. Woke later when he found himself chilled by her absence; followed after, but got held up by a couple of fawns. Entertained them for a while, joined by Tsabhi. The pair danced for the fawns' amusement. Then STRIA. More head-on tiger collisions. Might have to start wearing his mask again in case they ever decide to greet him that way, ouch. Went over and said hello to Stria as well. Had a lady on each arm for a few minutes - quite cozy. Then Stria moseyed off to do Stria things and Tsa dragged Rohit to say hello to Shahla and Circe. Bowed to the former, gave a quick snug to the latter before seating himself a friendly but respectable distance away. One of the youngest tiger cubs came over, too.
Then Shahla got up and trotted off across the stream, and everybody followed. Got up and tottered after the lot, and ended up standing about awkwardly and trying to figure out why they'd all stopped all of a sudden. Eventually noticed that Shahla was staring at a distant Jyoti and a red dogthing (Jacqueline) that was near him. Still confused, but at least that explained why they'd stopped. Then Shah ran off and Circe was acting all upset and omg wtf is happening why is the baby all alone okay well Shahla and Tsabhi are right there and Circe's upset and all alone so maybe I should go there.
Trailed after Circe and found her near the tigers' home. Hesitantly put his chin over her back, but she quickly moved away and sat down further up the hill. Followed a little more cautiously and sat with her, and soon enough the rest of the family caught up as well. ALL MY FRIENDS ARE UPSET SO I'M UPSET BUT I DON'T KNOW WHY.
Had two tigers on top of him at one point gaiz ur rly heavy omg.
Hung out the rest of the night, dozed off next to Tsabhi again. Hard to beat a big ol' tiger snuggle when it's cold and rainy.

Went for a walk and noticed Jhorla and Isiel sitting in an unusual place. As he got closer, realized they weren't exactly the picture of joy. Settled near Jhorla out of concern, hoping he wasn't intruding too much. Reassured a little when Jhorla moved to sit closer to him, until Isiel got up and gave him some death glares. Stumbled to his feet and gave her an awkward bow, and didn't take long to back off when asked. Rested with Jhor for a while, mostly acting as a worried pillow.
Trailed after the doe some time later, giving Isiel another quick bow in farewell before checking in on Jhorla by the pond. Stood back for a moment before approaching slowly, to give her time to shoo him off or otherwise indicate she just wanted some space, but didn't get any. Stayed next to her with his head on her shoulders, one eye on the strangers who came and went around them in one of the Forest's more active areas. Took after her lead again when she suddenly turned back towards home, though with some distance that quickly widened when he caught sight of Z'ev. Hung back while Jhorla settled next to him, then turned and went his own way when none of the group further acknowledged him.
Curled up by a vine-laden tree near the blue bowl, far enough to be out of the way and close enough that he could keep an eye and ear out for the family. Disheartened at being not only ineffective in his efforts but entirely abandoned in favor of someone else's. Although he recognized the pattern that's been in place for some time now, it left him feeling extra useless given the circumstances.

Lots of hanging out in 'his' flower patch.

Approached by Rossamund; had some snuggle time and a conversation. Learned that the boy was now a king and no more bears and all kinds of awesome things (yay? but also very complicated). May or may not have inadvertently invented democracy in the eighteenth century. Time warps are weird. Swore to drag Ross to school with him if they ever got back to modern(akafuture) India so he wouldn't have to keep explaining 'simple' things like what a government is. Ross seemed pleased with that, so Rohit was too.

(One day somewheres around here) Dogpiled by Ronra and Circe, who crashed his place after deciding Ronra's pad wasn't cool enough. Happy clam.

PREVIOUSLY, Lots and lots of sitting and being unproductive. Getting pretty bored with his daily routine. Sought out Jhorla one day and seemed to scare off some kind of ...peacock-dog that was resting nearby? Got inspected by the jumpy thing, and inspected it in turn, but it ran away soon enough. Dozed and wasn't surprised to find Jhorla gone when he woke quite some time later. 'S what you get for being a lazy bum.

Saturday (21!), was joined by his friend in the patch by the Oak. Sat with her comfortably for a while before feeling a need to stretch his legs; took the opportunity to show off and kick at the air and incite a little fun. Chased after Jhor when she threw an orange pelt on him, and retaliated with some feathers. They stopped to catch their breath somewhere near the ruins, accidentally disturbing Gustiro. Stared back at the older male for a bit before Gus trotted off to rest elsewhere. Oops.
More spells and some roughhousing happened, tore after Jhorla when an antler spell backfired and gave him an impressive set of tines, and then Pretty Princess Jhor became Princess Baboonbuttface, and suddenly there were shenanigans everywhere. Decided the whole Forest should have baboon butt faces, starting with Gustiro. Ambushed him by the pond, then found themselves being chased by the bull. An awkward game of spell-tag ensued, until Gustiro started hiding behind some grumpy-looking blue guy. Lots more running and a few sneak attacks, and then the duo gave up and resumed their individual play for a while before settling down to recover. Jhorla noticed Idelle nearby after a while, so they migrated and dropped off one by one in a little pile.

Yesterday (22!) was hanging out at home when some weird guy came around and wouLDN'T StOP sCREAMing. Eventually got fed up and got up to see what the heck was wrong with him, but got some minimal cordiality - a bow and some head tilting from both sides. Tried to invite him to sit down (and be quiet ajflks) but that didn't work, so Rohit dragged himself up and went in search of somewhere quieter to nap. Found Jhorla with someone unfamiliar (Rajani) and settled on the other side of the flower patch.

TODAY (sobehind), woke up in said flower patch and started to wander back home when he realized Jhorla was still there. Groggily moved over to sit near her instead and promptly resumed being a boring lump. Ronra dropped by. Gave her a cool nod like 'sup man. BI
Later, got distracted by the grumpy-looking blue guy from the other day. Thought he was pacing at first and got a little closer to see what was up, only to discover Eli was dancing. Amused, sat and watched for a while.

Noticed Idelle and Jhorla over by Jhorla's home, went over to say hi since Z'ev didn't seem to be around but instead found Jhorla and her dad all beat up. Appointed himself as a watch dog and settled nearby, only moving when Z'ev got up to shove in between him and Jhorla. Whatever, man, just picking up your slack. You're welcome. The other male looked a little green around the gills and didn't put up any further fight, though, so Roh made himself comfy in a small patch of poppies and kept guard while the others rested.
Chatted with Jokerman for a little bit when she came by, then had a puzzling conversation with Rossamund, who freaked out about him sitting in the poppies among other things. Eventually convinced the myling to go to bed.

Dozed fitfully through the night, trying to keep himself awake to make sure the family would be okay if whoever tore them up came back. Lost the battle somewhere around early morning and slept pretty hard for a while, waking some time before Rossamund came over and was run off by Ramsus. Surprised to see the bull up and active, guesses he dislikes Ross more than Roh originally thought. Shrugged it off until Ross returned and tried to ask him a question, but didn't have time to hear him out before Ramsus got aggressive with him again. Shook his head and sat down, waiting for things to settle before going to find Rossamund to see what was up. A little agitated when Ross asked him to stay, since he was still concerned about Jhorla's family, but agreed on the condition that they stay within sight of the group. Taught Ross a simple mantra to help distract him and calm him down, had some scattered conversation while keeping an eye on the poppy fields and the family among them.

Then Ross suggested he go back to the family, just in time for Mjolner and Vidarr to show up. Had been watching them watch him and Ross for a while, and wasn't particularly concerned about Vidarr because he'd played with him as a fawn and the boy seemed pretty harmless when he came over to inspect, but Mjol seemed a little more serious and set him on edge. Ross told him to leave rightnow just a heartbeat before Mjolner took a go at him, so of course Rohit didn't listen. After a lot more bickering, did back off - so long as it was only Mjol and Ross doing the fighting. Eyed Vidarr throughout, but seemed to reach some kind of silent understanding that they wouldn't go after each other as long as they didn't cross any of the invisible lines. Even stood next to him to watch Mjol and Ross scuffle - physically and verbally - for a while before all hell broke loose. Fidgeted in place for a long time while Mjol and Ross talked, trying to keep track of Jhorla's family, the altercation, and a newly-arrived Ronra all at once. Ignored Ross's first shout for him to leave, then walked calmly towards Ronra when told more urgently. Glad he'd done so, as Mjolner made a dash at him halfway there. Got some help from Ron in fending off Mjolner and the boy. Pointedly went after Mjolner only; while disappointed in Vidarr's life decisions, still remembered him as the nice little kid and didn't really want to get into it with him. Relieved when things came to a standstill and, at last, Mjolner left with her son in tow. Argued with Ross a bit more. Not too badly messed up, himself - bruises and a few scrapes - but a little unnerved when Ross told him the others wanted to kill him. Covered it with his temper. Made sure he could keep an eye on Jhor & Co. from the new location, and sat down next to Mr. Bloody Mess and Ronra. Not sure if he's more upset about being attacked out of the blue or being attacked right after he'd gotten Ross to calm the hell down, thx u asshole.

Bickered with Ross a little more, insisting he wouldn't just up and run away just because Ross was in trouble. Are we family or what, cuz? Eventually took note of how much Ross was bleeding and that he didn't seem to be doing much about it. Grabbed some grass and leaves and put some pressure on the wounds - a little less than gently whOOPS - and managed to trigger some kind of panic attack from the Myling WHOOPSIE AGAIN. Rode through it until Ross konked himself out, braced for a long night.

Woke to find Rossamund gone the next morning. Took up his post near Jhorla's family again, though in a different patch of poppies than he had previously; gradually distancing himself as the family becomes a little more mobile. Wandered off to check in on Ross and get himself a drink. Found the myling tucked up against a tree with a couple of other deer, but only hung around long enough to make sure he wasn't dead and had someone to watch over him; returned to the poppy fields not long after, passing Vidarr along the way. Paused for a moment and thought about approaching him, but wasn't sure what he'd hope to gain from the gesture and moved along.
Surprised when Jhorla got up and stumbled towards him later in the evening, and immediately moved over so she wouldn't have to. Sat with her a while until she went back to bed.

Caught up on some sleep the next morning, withdrawn a little further from the group again. Still not sure he should leave his post, but starting to sense it might be some time soon; consequently a little more likely to make short trips about the Forest.

Found Jhorla dozing at the playground, tucked away in a corner of the rocks. Settled in at the opening and people-watched for a little bit until Isiel came up. Said hello and stepped aside so she could be closer to her daughter. Then Ramsus came up ohgosh forgot how big he was.
When Jhorla woke a while later, happened to be present for some unexpected news. Kept quiet, not wanting to intrude on the family any more than he was simply by being there, and bit his tongue a good bit. Followed Jhor to the pond when she didn't return promptly and found her in a sorry state. Snagged a quick drink before draping his head across her shoulders. Talked a bit, tried to be reassuring - or at least a distraction from what was on her mind. Not exactly sure how to feel about things, himself, and not entirely ill-content to distract himself with distracting Jhorla so he didn't have to think on it too much. Worried.

Once his friend had taken her leave, wandered off to make sense of himself. Noticed his sister nearby with a friend; eyed them suspiciously, feeling unusually protective of his younger sibling. Just as he decided to leave them be and turn towards home, though, Abhiri spotted him and charged over with Monroe in tow. Grudgingly went through the motions of saying hello, but wasn't really in the mood for any of their antics. Further suspicious of the stranger, and settled down a little ways off to keep an eye on the pair... at least until they ran off while he wasn't looking. NOT WINNING ANY BROWNIE POINTS WITH BIG BROTHER, MONROE.
Looked around for them but was too moody to do a proper search and went home to sulk and turn things over in his head. Still not sure how to feel.

A couple days spent being quiet and trying to sort himself. Kept an eye out for Jhorla, but generally missed crossing paths when he went looking. Came across Z'ev when checking the playground one day, and after staring stupidly for a moment immediately avoided the area.

Today, found Jhorla at the ruins with an unfamiliar buck. Settled nearby, wanting to be present but not wanting to intrude on them. Dozed off and on, but mostly just kept an eye on the Forest until Z'ev came up. Perked a bit and watched the pair reunite, waiting only long enough to ensure no one was going to do anything dumb. Once the dragon stag had settled, moved off to nestle in some ferns; kept an eye on things for a short while longer before removing himself entirely and meandering back home. Found a stranger there, but didn't pay him much mind; content to share the area until someone else showed up. And then someone else. Beginning to feel crowded in his present mental state, relocated to the Oak to drown himself and his thoughts in its hum.

Spent the night at the Oak, and eventually dragged himself up to go get some water. Interrupted along the way by a charging Jhorla and Idelle. Not sure what to do with the exuberant girls at first, thrown off by Jhorla's sudden change in attitude compared with days prior. Eventually gave in to some cajoling, chasing after one and then the other when they ganged up on him. Settled down to rest with them for a while, but eventually wandered back to his flower patch to muse to himself and give them some girl time. Got a brief snug from Jhorla on her way back to Z'ev after Idelle had gone.

Approached by Abhiri and surprised her with a shape spell he'd been holding on to; played with his crow-sister a bit until he heard Ross calling. Dragged Abhiri over for some Ross shenanigans where the Myling also changed into a bird. Protected the tiny Abhiri from big scary fawns and stuff, even though she bit him and pulled out his fur. Rude and ungrateful : (
And then there was a giant snuggle puddle.
Found himself weaseling away after a while, though, seeking the comfort of home.

Slow day. Spent some time at home before wandering off to check in on Jhorla. Found her snoozing and settled in next to her, humming quietly to himself until he zonked out (because Ivi had to go to work ;; ). Woke up green; assumes Jhorla did it. Wandered back home and did a whole lot of nothing.

Much later on, nearby shouting woke him and, when it persisted, drew him towards the Ruins to see what was going on. Watched for a few moments to determine what was going on before charging in headlong at a giant bird... thing who was heckling a family sheltering among the crumbling walls. Thought it was bad enough the critter seemed to be after a small doe, but a glimpse of huddling fawns behind a second doe sealed the deal. Bad birdie.
Managed to send the creature packing alongside the family's defender and after making sure everyone was okay, nestled alongside one of the walls to keep watch in case the bird decided to give it another go.

--Small panic attack in the birch, mostly oblivious to nearby Circe
--Bashed his head against a tree a couple times before just slumping down next to it and shivering
---Curled up against Circe when she came over. Still too stunned to cry or do much more than shake like a big red leaf.
-Distantly acknowledged Ronra's arrival with a nod
-Essentially shut down, but mostly aware of his immediate surroundings and immensely grateful not to be alone
--Spent the remainder of the evening trying not to think about it and not to spill his stomach contents on the forest floor, tucked against Circe and Ronra
----"He'll be back... I don't know if you know, if it matters, or whatever, but.. he'll be back."

One ear shifts towards Circe's voice, listening but as lost for words as he has been since coming across Ross. ... but he nods an acknowledgement that the tiger's words are there.

Regardless, there's one thought that keeps cropping up in his steadier moments: He's going to owe these two a big thanks in the morning, or whenever his body stops trying to expel its contents every time he opens his mouth.

Calmer this year; while last year he itched to get up and move almost constantly, he is not as bothered by quiet moments. That said, he is feeling unusually social, and frequently seeks out others and avoids alone time.

Still young; no interest in breeding and mostly focused on having fun, meeting other deer, and making a nuisance of himself. May make a game out of collecting deer or seeing how many of his friends he can round up at once. Experimenting with striking out on his own and declining allies, although exceptions may be made for fond relations. More likely to attempt to win a match without physical force; lots of posturing and tending to the Judges. However, also fairly shy and may not get too intimate with Judges, particularly those he has not known long.

Will likely be wearing his warthog mask for the duration of the Rut. Shaking (listen + listen) may be interpreted as use of the mask's tusks during a spar. Or maybe just raspberries if he's being silly.
Fighting style varies, as he is still learning and has not yet reached his adult size. Unlikely to fight seriously with most deer, though he may be drawn into bigger battles in the right circumstances. Not particularly interested in being majorly injured - or dishing out major damage to someone else.

Spent the day at home, fairly listless. Later joined by his mother and tried to work his way around to the things that were bothering him, but communication is hard, man. Happened to be facing the wrong way as Rossamund approached the pair, but got up to look when Indi did - and almost immediately sat back down, shaking like a leaf. Fessed up to Mom, who offered to make Ross leave. Didn't directly protest, and when Ross got too close Indi confronted him. Stood by awkwardly, feeling terrible about the whole thing but also not equipped to deal with the Myling just then. Lay back down and brooded the rest of the night.

Unexpectedly spent a few weeks out of the Forest with Indi and Jokerman, traveling; took up the offer to get out of the usual spaces on a whim, hoping it would help clear his head. Parted ways before his parents were ready to return, and brought back a couple of small things to be tucked away for later.
Settled back in at home to rest, and was later joined by Jhorla. Dozed off and on until finally passing out for the night.

Sat at home like the lump he is, still procrastinating on talking to Ross.
Surprised, but not displeased, by a visit from Llyr; hadn't seen her since the early part of the Rut. Joined by and masked by a fawn. Hopped around with them for a few minutes until the fawn bolted off randomly. Had a little laugh at that and sat back down with Llyr, who wandered off shortly after.
Then Rhiannon. Then Rhia and Llyr. The girls dragged him over to a small pile of deer in and around a tree; settled just outside and dozed off and on.

Huddled in his flower patch, trying to keep warm. Grudgingly let a blanket of snow build up on his back until it was replaced by Rhia's real one. Sat with the doe for a bit before being hauled up and dragged to the pond and then over to Sage, later joined by Llyr. Enjoyed some quiet company - and blankets.

Finally got himself to have a conversation with Ross after that thing forever ago. Found the Myling soaking in an ice-cold pond, drunk. Welp. This should go well.
Actually didn't go too bad, but quickly ran into the roadblock that comes with being a kid and not an all-knowing being and/or psychiatrist - namely, not being able to do much about the situation except be sad.

Drifting between familiar faces as the weather shifts; a day here and there with Rhiannon, spent a while with Circe, later joined by Ross... On a particularly rainy night, noticed Jhorla on the hill near his home and went to retrieve her so she wouldn't be cold and wet all by herself. Quiet days, mostly.

Sat with Talla one evening, thought about asking her if she knew what had happened but in the end decided it didn't matter; Ross was a mess, as he often is, and probably will be again. Just a sad fact. Sigh.

Still laying low following his trip outside the Forest, occupying his time with experimental hobbies and crafts. Picked up a little pouch and a few packets of seeds from a strange creature passing out wares in the Oak. Not sure what he'll do with them, but toying with the idea of adding a more colorful extension to his current flower patch and tending a little garden. Brought one of his craft works to Jhorla one evening while the Forest was still dark, since he happened to catch her around. Searched for signs of Rhiannon and other friends. Somewhere between lonely and content, bordering on an odd hermit phase while he figures himself out; passed his birthday unknowingly without a calendar to keep track of time, but sensing it's about that time of year. Becoming aware of his own transition into adulthood, not sure how he feels about it but not quite so.... teenage-angst-y over it any more. Maybe missing the days when he'd chase Abhiri around pretending to be a zombie, instead of leering at potential suitors he doesn't like hanging around his 'baby sister'.

Finally figured it'd been long enough since Jhor popped and went to say hi. Got surprise-attacked with a spell and some light sparring. Mostly light in that he declined to return any of her punches and significantly pulled back on his own and mostly kicked the air and a tree instead. Babies don't need bruised milk. Yes, that's a thing now. w/e shutup. Just too manly to hit a lady with a child.
Still needs to ask if it's a boi or a gurl b/c Jhor went to bed before he asked. Whoops.

Woke where he'd previously dozed off at a random tree near the Oak and started to make his way back home, but noticed Rhiannon along the way and went over to say hi. Paused when he realized she was conversing with Nikhil, and moved over to his home base while they talked. After Nikhil had departed, joined Rhia and a fairly large group - Bree, Llyr, Keidasi, and Farren - and hung out for a while. RHIA WHY U HAVE BABY IN TUMMY. Fawns everywhere lately.
Dozed off and on until Rhia went off to bed or something, then peaced out because he didn't know the other ladies aside from a few encounters during last year's rut and didn't know the guys at all so shy wallflower and all that. Plus he wanted to check in on Jhorla, but he found her asleep with the babbin ~~who's the spitting image of her daddy what no at least be cute darnit~~ so he left them be and went to go hunt down rOss instead.

Except Ross was asleep by someone he didn't know either, so frack.
WHY DO ALL YOU PEOPLE SLEEP AT NORMAL HOURS. Pf.

Since there was a gathering at his favorite flower patch, ended up making is way quietly to one of the rocks near Jhor and the kiddo because at least he knows what to expect from that group and just zoned out for a while. Fawn twitched once and some strangers ran around at a comfortable distance but p much nothing else happened. Headed home when he started to catch himself dozing, but found it still occupied so he crashed at a neighboring flower patch instead since Ronra's tree required too much effort 'cause he'd already passed it. Zzzzzzzsleepyroh.

Walked around, sparred with himself and practiced kicking at some trees and stuff, occasionally pausing to look around and make sure no one was watching him make a fool of himself. Flopped down at his favorite spot when he'd burned off a little energy. Ultimately feeling bored, unfulfilled, and sulky.

What day even is.
Dozed in his favorite flower patch most of the morning, mostly people-watching today. Made a note to go say hi to Ronra later since she was nearby.
Roused later by some scuffling and shouting; figuring it might be a Rut spar worth watching, ventured over. Thought it was Ronra and someone else at first, then realized Umay was in a scuffle with a smaller stranger (Libel). Watched for a bit, and quickly realized it was more than a friendly spar. Worried when Ron started getting closer, and moved to lend her a reassuring shoulder as she paced; she'd been there for him before, after all - owe her one. Hadn't gotten much further than a quick bump and a nuzzle before Circe intervened and pulled him away; initially thought she'd come for Ronra as well, but the tiger left the other behind. Presumed Circe thought he was going to put himself in the middle of things and didn't want him interfering, although since that wasn't intention he tarried behind to keep an eye on Ronra. Torn between going back for the lion and heeding Circe's wishes, settled for standing around anxiously somewhere between the two, albeit closer to where Circe had settled at the river.
Alarmed when Circe's older brothers joined the fray, but the pair seemed to finish sorting things out pretty quickly; relieved when the standoff dispersed into various groups and Ronra wandered over to flop on him.
Gladly spent the day lazing with the big cats, intermittently drooling and snoring like an obnoxious puppy.

This code is a train wreck, no wonder I haven't updated in two years.

Brought his most recent collection of trinkets to show to his cousin, Ross, and to see if maybe the Myling could figure out one or two of the more magical items. Found a fawn with him, but shrugged it off since she stayed quiet most of the time. Interrupted before he could get very far with the magic topic, however, as a spooky ghost horse thing caused some chaos nearby and forced the group to move. When things calmed, tried to cajole Ross back into better spirits and discussed the feather he'd found in the Reaches. Got a pretty decent hint about it, and maybe a place to look next. Annoyed the fawn in the process by making his cousin laugh a little *too* much, but oh well because they got interrupted again - this time to rescue a small blue doe who was beseiged by some kind of creature. Ross and Rohit teamed up with a few others in the area and ran the stranger and what seemed to be her ally off, but when Ross went to check things out while Rohit stood guard, Roh watched him get singled out by the creatures and run down on his own. Leapt into action to help his cousin, but the group had a huge head start. Tried to act as a barrier and push the strangers away where he could, but unfortunately was outsized and outclassed. Felt like he wasn't making much progress, no matter how many times he brandished his antlers and tusks. A long series of chases ensued, and when he finally thought the pair had left Ross for greener pastures and he could catch his breath while going to check on the Myling, Roh instead found a third aggressor beating on him. Chased after the beast when he ran, only further infuriated when he doubled back to attack Ross again.
More fighting. More running.
Ross was finally left alone again, and so Roh went back to the Ruins to check on the fawn and doe they'd left behind - just in time for the big white monster to swing back around, and for another one to duck in and reach into the fawn's hiding hole.
More running. More fighting.
Told Ross he'd have to move so he could watch both parties. Eventually more or less *made* him move.
Just minutes after getting the small and the wounded together, Ross tried to leave. Very firmly insisted he sit his butt down; cue arguing. Finally agreed to let Ross go on the condition that Rohit go with him. Stumbled with the Myling into his apartment and faced a rather grim situation. Grudgingly left Ross behind afterwards to return to the Forest; bombarded by the fawn almost as soon as he'd stepped back through the portal. Trudged to the pond to get himself cleaned up and mostly ignored the kid until she puttered herself out. Keeping watch nearby, but dozing off and on when the pain lets him. Not sure if the nausea is from the stress or the third creature's venom, but the searing stings certainly are.

As he mentioned her compatibility with his friends, she had a good idea of what he was referring to; it had occurred numerous times. "If you're talking about Ross, let me explain that." She paused. "I have known Ross since I was very young, and we used to have a very positive relationship with each other. But my father discovered that he associated with some others that he did not approve of. So, he forbid me to go near Ross, and for Ross to come near me or my family. Ross has been chased by my father, with the intent of hurting him, several times. I leave whenever Ross comes around to avoid him getting in trouble with my father. It's just to keep him out of harm's way."
