Going to try to re-organize this...

This post has two purposes.
One: I returned to the Forest after a long absence, and did not realize that I had missed an update. Due to this, I was not viewing pictograms correctly, and the new friends that I made could not be identified. When I realized this mistake, I began working on a way to convert a false 1st gen picto into its true 2nd gen form, so that I (and maybe others who made the same mistake) could recognize people they'd been playing with after the patch had been properly installed. I don't know if this will be of any use to anyone but myself, but I figure there's bound to be at least one other person at some point in time who has or will return after a period of absence and not realise there was a patch update for the second gen pictos.

Two: This is the one you will probably be most interested in. This is a way to find ANY deer's player/login WITHOUT using the map or resorting to a "Who is this?" post. All you need is a screenshot (or your memory) and the files I've uploaded.

One hundred… It is exactly one hundred hind-steps from the nearest mushroom growths to my place. It borders the birch forest and the much darker, older trees of the First forest. The small area is marked by a single tree surrounded by a barren reddish brown patch of earth. You cannot see anything unusual, perhaps the seemingly endless grasses of the bright birches world and the rolling hills and a few birds here and there. I've brought only one deer to this place, but a great many fawns. It is partly shaded by the oaks and partly exposed to the sun…all the more to love.

I suppose you'd like me to stop chasing after sparrows and tell the tale already. I must warn you that this is nothing for the younger ears. It is one of the few stories I will never tell to even the most curious of the fawns. Since you ask and persist (but mostly because you bring honey comb), I will tell you.

I started playing TEF when I read about it in one of the articles assigned for my Rhetoric of Serious Games class. I was intrigued by an online game that didn't have the usual "kill to gain progress" model but instead seemed to encourage community through the lack of normal typing communication.

What I found has been a very calming online experience, a community of friendly players on the game, and interesting a creative writers/artists on this site.

My stag started out lonely but has grown into an adult who has met many playful deer along the way. I've been going though some changes in my life recently and enjoy the parallels between my growth and my deer's growth. (I haven't thought of a name for him yet).

I've recently encountered some hurtles in my life with relationships and other things. But I always feel welcome when I enter the forest and just dance a while with other deer. So to all those that will dance with a stranger, I thank you! I enjoy this brief escape from reality to a simple area that comforts me. I hope to see you all in the forest eventually!
