A[=9]t least it wasn’t snowing, like the last time I awoke. I couldn’t sense anyone I knew, though as usual the sounds of many other deer filled the air around me. I walked to the stream, it was
cold, and quite a shock as my lips touched the surface, but thirstily I drank. I quickly climbed the bank, not interested in playing around the freezing waters.
I trotted through the forest,
observing the others in their various activities… I would have walked right past her, if she hadn’t at that moment appeared slightly saddened… I’m not the best
judge of emotions, but the doe a little in the distance made me stop, and stare
curiously. She caught my interest. I admit it’s not too hard in this forest of
fascinating deer, not all of them even really deer… I would have approached… If I hadn’t been stopped by the most
peculiar thing. I stared at the arrival before me, acting most strangely. It circled around me once… I don’t know what it was doing but I greatly
disliked it, whatever it’s intention was, but it certainly
distracted me.
It wore the skull mask, and great white antlers… it must have caught the other doe’s attention as well, it left me to circle her, then simply stood in front of her.
After a while it began to walk.
Maddening it was, as I was uncertain of destination or previous actions. The other doe began to follow, and without a thought so did I. What? It’s not really as if I had anything better to do.
It seemed I was a
magnet for energetic deer today. They seemed drawn to me, as I attempted to continue my observation. It was like being abducted by aliens or such. Only I managed to get away. We reached the apparent place, as the deer we had been following sat down in the poppy field.
And so I took the time to introduce myself to the doe.
