Pleased to meet you, don't forget my name [Character Interaction Post]

Draak's picture
Been meaning to try to make one of these for a little while, but this would be your usual character interaction blog thing where you can interact with any of my deer (since getting inforest can be a pain sometimes, also timezones).

Here you can:

Send any of my deer an ask/question/bla. I MIGHT draw these out but not sure yet.
You can also ask their human versions things too.
Questions can be as silly or as serious as you like.

Have minor rp things.

Other interactiony things I can't think of cos it's past midnight.

(Click pictos for bios)

Chime
Draak - My first TEF deer. He's been around a long time (not an OOC deer) has a kid and has seen and experienced a fair bit.

Aura - (Who I can't remember her text colour for) Daughter to Draak and Mitra, she's your average little kid and will talk your ear off about whatever is on her mind at that point in time.

Corvus
Corvus - Second TEF deer of mine, has also seen and experienced a lot in his time. Is slowly coming out of a deep depression and isn't too great when it comes to being social.

Chime
Chime - Miss Fusspot/Motherly of the year. She's pretty much like Mrs Weasley. She'll welcome you with open arms, but try to walk all over her and she won't take any of it. Just ask Helel's Jareth

Kostya
Kostya - he is Kostya and he likes the blueberries Will sing for you at the tiniest of hints. Kostya's like a friendly dog; always willing to play and give cuddles but will also simply flop and be quiet company.

Christian
Christian - When not being an awkward TEF deer, he's your typical English gentleman with a side of dork. Also a huge music buff. He also kills people to live.

Jehoel
Jehoel - He's still a WIP but I think I have just enough to be able to include him here. Either way it'll help his development. A Cherubim, second ranked Angel after the Seraphim. He's pretty chill lol and laid back, most likely won't preach the word of God to you, he knows others tend to find it irritating. Also likes tea

??? Bio
??? - Also a WIP. The timespace deer thing who's literally half a skeleton half living being. He's still being ironed out but he's rather mischevious with a bit of morbidity.

"Wha..?" Ross blinked, not understanding what Christian was saying. But nodded at his clarification. "Oh. So things are a lot better now? No plagues and such?"
Draak's picture

"Not really, there are still

"Not really, there are still disease outbreaks but medicine has come a long long way. Not to mention the cures aren't so...dangerous." Christian couldn't believe the remedies that were used back then, chemicals that were now considered highly toxic to humans. "Of course past cures weren't all dangerous, some natural cures are still viable."
Echosong's picture

Ross's ears perked up at the

Ross's ears perked up at the mention of medicine. Since he was learning to be a healer, newer and better types of medicine would be useful. Better than the old, slightly contradictory ways of the past. "Oh, you mean like bloodletting and stuff? Yeah, I thought that seemed pretty weird." The buck grinned. "Mhm, some are. There's a bunch here that can be useful if you ever get hurt." He had to keep himself from chattering on about medicines and herbs that could be found in the forest.
Draak's picture

Christian nodded. "Yes it

Christian nodded. "Yes it wasn't really my cup of tea either, fascinating to read about now but not at the time." He was also glad to find that Ross agreed with him; unsure if his claims about early medicine being dangerous would go down well. "There are? I shall keep that in mind..." He wondered if there was anything for burns, incase he had another run in with a cuddly "false god". He was lucky the burns he'd sustained on his shoulders and neck were minor, and by this point in time the fur was beginning to grow back.
Echosong's picture

"If you ever get hurt, I

"If you ever get hurt, I could help you. I'm learning to be a healer." Ross said with a proud grin, his childish nature more apparent. "Like, if you got a cut, you could use moss to stop the bleeding, and yarrow an' lady's mantle can help heal cuts too. Chamomile and marigold help with burns." He gestured at the traces of Christian's burns. "Borage can make you sleepy.. poppies can too, and get rid of pain... but you shouldn't eat many. Never, ever." The buck frowned, and gave an almost imperceptible glance back at the birch tree.
Draak's picture

Christian was astounded,

Christian was astounded, listening to the sudden bubbly explanation Ross was making of his knowledge on medicinal plants. It was unexpected, due to Ross being partly quiet beforehand. Christian knew that most of these methods wouldn't work on him, unless it was holy damage being the cause of the injury, on top of he wasn't able to ingest anything other than water or blood. Even trying to eat the pinecones and fungi made him feel slightly ill.

He made an attempt to look at his shoulder as Ross gestured at it. He wondered if it would actually work, although by this point in time it was pointless as it was already healed. "Chamomile and Marigold huh?" Christian decided not to mention that he wouldn't exactly need the rest of the cures due to his regeneration. That and he didn't want to burst Ross's bubble. But he never knew when "false gods" would appear.

The myling gave a sheepish

The myling gave a sheepish grin, looking a little apologetic for rambling on about medicine. "Ja. But I guess you don't need it now." Ross looked curiously at the patches of missing fur on the stag's shoulder. "How'd you get that anyway? Did Fire-face burn you?"
Draak's picture

(Either Ross is very good at

(Either Ross is very good at hiding, or the livemap is lying to me lol)

Christian just gave an amused smile, he didn't mind, especially when they seemed passionate about it.

He shook his head. "These weren't that bad, fairly minor. Just wish the fur would grow back faster." He tried to look at his shoulders again.

There was a twinge of anxiety in him as Ross asked about his burns."No, this was someone else. I have no idea who they were. My friend who was with me at the time mentioned they were wielding something they shouldn't have been." The story he gave was partially true, though purposefully vague. The deer had been carrying one of the twin gods pictograms and with such a thing, gained holy power and was able to burn him via touch.

"Hm. Was it one of those odd deer with a spell from the statue? A lot of people get hurt from those spells." He was affected by the devout spell too, though it wasn't so much a burn as mild stinging and itching.
Draak's picture

(There we go, that was

(There we go, that was weird)

He shook his head. "This deer was...how do I describe it. Rather plain looking?" He wasn't sure how to describe a "naked" TEF deer. "They do?" He wasn't sure if he should be surprised, what with the forest being crawling with demons and part demonic deer. He himself was included amongst the deer that were harmed by the spell. However unbeknownst to him it varied, the spell being more potent if an actual god had been inforest. He was lucky the one time he'd been hit by a devout spell was before Halloween, before the twin gods had made a physical presence and "recharged" the potentcy.
He did know that at this point in time the statues made him feel uneasy.
Echosong's picture

"Yeah, those ones." Ross

"Yeah, those ones." Ross thought that most nameless deer were a bit unpredictable, since most seemed not to know that devout spells hurt, or that mooing in someone else's face was rude. Though some were nicer than others.
"Yeah, some of my friends get a bit burned by it. It happens to me too, but I don't really get burned that much. It mostly just stings."

(Also a heads up: if I suddenly close, it's cos my computer's getting hot. It's like 30 degrees C here and my pc is acting like a mini heater asdfas)

Christian paused for a moment, thinking over Ross's words. He found it interesting that Ross claimed the spell caused him minor irritation. "The last time I was unfortunately graced by that blinding white nonsense was...hmm early or mid October? It gave me a bit of a shock, a stun." He thought for a moment once again. ".....oddly enough after October I...it was rather an uncomfortable experience going near that hill.

Echosong's picture

(Okay! Ha, we seem to have

(Okay! Ha, we seem to have opposite problems, my room's really cold.)

"Huh. Maybe you should be sure not to get hit with that spell again. At least until that goes away.." Talking about the effects of the devout spell had brought up a question that Ross wasn't sure if he should ask; if Christian was affected by iron like him. Though it might lead to the stag finding out what he was... He frowned, hesitated, then asked timidly, "Um... does touching iron burn you at all? Kind of like the spell?"
Draak's picture

(*Sends all the summer heat

(*Sends all the summer heat your way*)

"Oh yes, I tend to avoid that hill. Not to mention that place is always crowded and noisy." He pulled a displeased face, being amongst a pile of noisy, spell casting deer he didn't know wasn't a favourite past time.

It was clear Ross was antsy about admitting his weakness to iron, Christian couldn't really blame him, the two of them had been rather vague and secretive about what they were. He figured Ross was like him, and didn't really want it widely known what the truely were. It did however give Christian a bit more of an idea, although he didn't really want to go tossing species names at Ross. Instead in hopes of making Ross feel a bit better he quietly mentioned one of his own weaknesses. "Iron doesn't harm me, no." He said, lowering his voice. "Anything that you may consider holy does." He felt that mentioning garlic would be too straightforward.
Echosong's picture

Ross gazed keenly at the

Ross gazed keenly at the stag, thinking about the things he'd said and putting the pieces together. Awesome fangs, born a long time ago, could be harmed by holy things... he must be one of those things that he'd heard about in his past life. The people he'd overheard had called it a 'vampyr'. "Oh. Are you a..." Ross said brightly, stopping short of actually asking his question, for he didn't know how Christian would react. He'd never properly met a vampire before, although he'd briefly met one named Plague, and had a notion about his friend Kaeltiir.
Draak's picture

Christian watched Ross think,

Christian watched Ross think, figuring he was putting two and two together. He waited for Ross to say what he was in heavy anticipation, Ross seemed rather positive about it so far which he was greatful for. He generally dreaded the idea of revelations.

But Ross stopped, causing him a bit of concern.

"...go on..." He said, attempting to give him a bit of encouragement. He didn't know why he himself didn't just outright say it.

It felt like he was in a corny vampire movie.
Echosong's picture

The buck was relieved that

The buck was relieved that Christian didn't seem to be worried about it, and continued. "A vampyr?" Ross finished, looking at Christian inquisitively. There wasn't even a hint of fear in his expression.
Draak's picture

There it is. He felt kind of

There it is. He felt kind of odd, not good or bad about Ross figuring it out. It had to happen sooner or later he supposed. He did feel good that Ross hadn't ran off or be disgusted by it, infact he looked rather interested. He slowly nodded. "...but please all I ask is that you keep it to yourself." Christian said quietly, he much preffered to keep his vampirism private, known only to very few. "...you never know how others will react to such a thing."
Echosong's picture

Ross nodded. "'Course. I

Ross nodded. "'Course. I shan't tell a soul." He was silent for a moment. It was only fair that if he knew that Christian was a vampire, Christian should know what he was, right? Still, he was anxious that the vampire might be uneasy about it, or run off. But he blurted out his secret in return, looking away nervously. "I suppose I should tell you mine, then. I-I'm a myling." He continued looking at the ground, fearful of whatever Christian's reaction might be.
Draak's picture

"Thank you." Christian

"Thank you." Christian smiled, expressing his gratitude. Ross then abruptly spoke, blurting out his own secret. He watched his face fall and stare at the ground. In all honesty, Christian wasn't sure what such a being was.

"A Myling? My guess was incorrect." He gave a light chuckle. not bothered at all. "I was thinking along the lines of Fairyfolk or Fae." Christian's own expression then fell slightly and his ears followed suit. "I must apologise, I haven't the foggiest idea what a Myling is. I have never heard of one before." He felt a bit guilty, feeling bad that he didn't know exactly what Ross was. While Christian had general knowledge of supernatural beings, due to the sheer amount of them in existance he was bound to miss some of them.
Echosong's picture

Ross nodded, hesitantly

Ross nodded, hesitantly glancing back up. "It's pretty much the same thing." He shrugged. "That's alright. Er, since you seem to know a lot about history... maybe there's a book on folklore you could look at. Norse folklore, or Swedish." He thought about this for a moment; it was odd to realize that you were the subject of folklore, horror stories and old tales. "Anyway.. a myling's a sort of... ghost or fae thing, that used to be a child." He didn't elaborate, leaving out the whole 'vengeful and murderous victim of infanticide' thing.

"Ah I see. And I shall. I do love a good read." He was confident he'd have a book with somethign about them on his shelves. Having lived as long as he had, Christian had slowly amassed a fairly large collection of them. "So...we're two undead fellows?" He chuckled.

Anyways, Ross has some presents for Christian- some old books. (Something like these but better preserved; x, x, x, x)

"Good afternoon" He said with a smile and a nod. "Presents for me? And indeed I did." Christian was surprised at the prospect of unexpected gifts.
Echosong's picture

"Mhm." The myling took out

"Mhm." The myling took out the presents from where he'd hid them behind himself, and pushed them in front of Christian with a slight dramatic pause for effect. It was a small stack of books that looked as though they were from the middle ages, though in remarkably good condition. "Tada! Most of them are in Latin, but I think one or two are Icelandic.." Ross looked up at the stag, hoping that he'd like the gifts.
Draak's picture

Christian's expression

Christian's expression lightened at the sight of the old books, he grinned like a kid in a candy store. "Ah! Good gracious look at these...and the condition...the covers." He wanted to leaf through them, but lacked the hands to do so. And there as no way he was going to attempt such a thing with his mouth. "Thank you. In the 21st century books aren't really made this way anymore. It's disappointing because they're wonderful to look at." Christian continued to smile, although there was a hint of awkward that he didn't have anything for Ross in return.
Echosong's picture

"You're welcome, I'm glad you

"You're welcome, I'm glad you like them!" Ross smiled enthusiastically.
"Huh, really? That's sad. Do they still have nice pictures?" He was especially fond of looking at the intricate pictures of the books he read in the library of the castle where he spent part of his time. Though he could now read fairly well thanks to his lessons, the pictures often helped him understand the book a bit better.
Draak's picture

"They do yes, however it's a

"They do yes, however it's a bit different these days. Illustrations are no longer drawn directly into the books, and you don't find the gilded, illuminated handwritten text anymore. Books seem to have lost their...art so to speak. It's a shame, calligraphy can be so grand." He paused. "Calligraphy isn't altogether lost though, you can still aquire pens and brushes to do it with. Quills...aren't commonplace anymore." He himself knew how to use such pens, since when he was young he was expected to have immaculate handwriting. He still retained his fairly fancy handwriting, as much to his friend's dismay. But the art of Illuminated text and intricate artistic calligraphy script writing was something out of his league.
Echosong's picture

"Hm. That is a shame. 'S good

"Hm. That is a shame. 'S good that calligraphy is still around though." He mused, pondering the mysteries of the 21st Century. "I wonder if I could find someone to show me how to do stuff like that... Heh, maybe it'll catch on if more people know how."
Draak's picture

Christian nodded, it was one

Christian nodded, it was one of the sad things about time marching on, the loss of things being an art; calligraphy, metal work and other handmade crafts. "I'd certainly try if I were you, it does take a fair bit of practice but it would be certainly worthwhile. While it was a nice skill to have, and the text produced stunning, he didn't envy those in the past who had to reproduce written works by hand.
Echosong's picture

He nodded thoughtfully in

He nodded thoughtfully in return. "Yeah.. I'll have to convince Krum to get someone to teach me-" Ross's voice faded as he realized what he'd said. He hadn't meant to mention Krummavisur, since his association with the bear had led to some of his friends leaving him, but now he'd gone and said too much. "Anyway. I'll be sure to try it." A nervous pause, then he changed the subject. "Um, so what else is different about this century? I really don't know much about it, besides that medicines and books have changed."
Draak's picture

"Ah, that's good you have

"Ah, that's good you have connections or something of the sort." Christian didn't bat an eye at the mention of the name, he didn't recognise it and just figured it was someone Ross knew. He slightly quirked a confused brow at Ross's change of the subject but didn't feel like questioning it. "....Hmmm" He had to think for a moment, thinking back to both his and Ross's times. "Horses aren't a primary means of transport, we now have uh, these box like machines on wheels to drive around in. I guess you could call them automated carriages? But we call them cars." He tried his best to try and describe a car to Ross. "Of course people still ride them, they still exist on farms and ranches. Or if you have enough room."
Echosong's picture

Ross gave a tiny sigh of

Ross gave a tiny sigh of relief that the vampire didn't ask about who Krum was. Whew.
"Woah." He had to stop and contemplate this for a minute. That was very, very different from his time. "Carriage.. cart.. car.. hm. So it's a machine that can carry people around everywhere? Are they very fast?"
Draak's picture

Christian nodded. "Basically

Christian nodded. "Basically yes, they come in a lot of different shapes, sizes and colours. People even have special kinds that they race. Those ones are designed to go very, very fast. Travel by car just in general is faster than going somewhere by horse. Horseriding is still enjoyable though, especially trail riding." Christian owned a couple of horses and would often ride them when up at his country property in the English countryside.

(EDIT:
I gotta close TEF and make dinner and such, so I'll respond after and stuff)
Echosong's picture

"Wow." He said, impressed.

"Wow." He said, impressed. These machines sounded quite useful. "I bet you're able to go a lot more places with cars than with horses." Perhaps, Ross thought, they could go further than horses, or even the longships of his time. Machines didn't get tired, after all. Perhaps one could even go from Svealand (where he was from) to India, that interesting place he kept hearing about.

(He has no idea where India is. Or anything outside of northern Europe for that matter.)
Draak's picture

"Mostly yes, of course you

"Mostly yes, of course you still need to provide fuel for cars. They don't run for an infinite amount of time. You can't let cars graze like you can with horses." He chuckled. "But there are plenty of places that will sell you fuel." Christian gave a small pause. "I should mention that boats progressed in a similar way, they also look radically different. Most are made of metal. Course you still get boats with sails and all that.
Echosong's picture

"Ah. So they're not like

"Ah. So they're not like clocks. And they don't burn wood, I assume. Do they burn oil as fuel, like a lamp?"
Ross laughed at the idea of a big boat made out of metal. He just couldn't imagine it. "Metal boats? That's silly, won't they sink or rust?"

Christian shook his head. "Uh, sort of? They don't run on oil...I think it may be a biproduct or something of the sort." He gave a small laugh. "I'm not too great when it comes to chemicals. Either way, you put it in the car and it makes it go." Christian did like his fancy cars, but when it came to the nittygritty about what went in them and made them work he pulled mental blanks.
"Surprising isn't it, but, they do indeed float. They're still rather hollow inside much like the old wooden boats so I suppose they get their boyancy from that and can bob around in the ocean. They do indeed rust but it takes a long while, they must treat the metal with something that prolongs it, they call it 'stainless steel'."

Echosong's picture

"Ah." Ross nodded. "Huh.

"Ah." Ross nodded.
"Huh. They've gotta be pretty heavy though.." Ross considered the metal some more. Stainless steel. Like iron, he couldn't touch steel without getting burned. Though the burn was milder than that of iron, it still hurt. If he somehow managed to visit the human world would he be able to actually do anything? "Are a lot of things made of iron and steel?"
Draak's picture

"And massive, some can be a

"And massive, some can be a few stories tall. It's a wonder that they can float at all. They'd most definately be in the hundreds it not thousands of tons." Christian also quietly realised Ross's weakness to iron, but in present day he didn't think it would be too bad. "...ah, yes and no. I think it be pretty easy to spot and avoid in most cases. I think the main one would be cutlery. Maybe door knobs too..." He thought about his own home and tried to recall all the metal objects in it. "...would gloves work? Christian said quietly, almost in a whisper.
Echosong's picture

Ross's ears perked up, his eyes wide in astonishment. "Amazing. My people's grandest ships were never that big."

"Ah. That's good." Even if metal was in a lot of places, if it was easy to spot he could easily keep away from it.
"Yeah!" Ross chirped. He'd already used strips of cloth as makeshift gloves in the other world. Any old scrap of cloth would do.
Draak's picture

Christian gave an amused

Christian gave an amused grin. "I know what you mean, I recall seeing the old Tall Ships...Frigates and Galleons and others of the sort. While these boats were mostly sail, present day ones lack them. Or well, the massive ocean liners." He scratched into the dirt with one of his hooves and attempted to draw an old ship and a present day cruise ship, to try to show Ross the size. The drawings were crude but they got the message across. "Excuse the ah, lack of artistic skill." He said with a slight chuckle. "I'm no artist back in the human world. That and...the whole used to having hands thing." He waved a hoof around.
Echosong's picture

Ross gazed keenly at the

Ross gazed keenly at the rough drawings in the dirt, then carefully drew a Viking longship next to the Tall Ship. It was the biggest one he knew of; it had been somewhere around 120 feet long."...There." He then looked at the drawings again, trying to estimate if he'd gotten the proportions right. If he had, that meant the modern ship was absurdly huge. "It must take a long time to build one of those."
He giggled, gesturing with his own hoof as well. "Heh, that's alright. You can learn to do things with hooves if you practice. Or you could get someone to turn you into a bird with a spell. Claws are much better for drawing."
