Aivilo and I have figured out a way to change your avatar or display name via the code in your signature. Special thanks to Klownda and Atlas for the help with shortening the code!

How does it work?

• Choose a unique combination of letters to create your "Codeword." 3 characters is recommended for length and simplicity, but you can use any alphanumeric combination. In the code examples below, we will be using "CDW."


• You can find a list of available codes on this Google Sheet.
  To claim a code, use this Google Form. Once a code is claimed it will be marked off on the list as unavailable. This spreadsheet will be minimally maintained. If you claim a code please keep it.


• We recommend imgbb and catbox.moe for image hosting, as both of these sites have very short image links.


• These avatars will only show up on your comments. Nowhere else. You can make them show up on your main thread posts if you copy-paste the signature code into the body of your thread.


• Signatures can only be up to 255 characters in length. This means any of these codes will limit what else you can put in your signature! We did our best to make it so you can at least include an image and a bit of text with either of these codes. However, you cannot have an avatar and a display name changer at the same time. Together, the codes are too long.

Hey, I'm Hydde! This post is a recreation of an older one I made off of my Wald account, the oldest character of mine that saw any use on TEF. The reason for the remake is that I really wanted to have all of my deer to be consolidated under my actual chosen name, and given that I've accidentally deleted the avatar on my old account, it wasn't really worth sticking to anymore.

The rest of the post is mostly copy-pasted from the older version, with minimal edits.

I've been on here for a long time now, but have never been active in the community, a fact I regret nowadays. Much has changed since the moment I made my first deer: I finished school, university, moved across the world and got married. However, through the years, I made it a habit to log in every couple of years to see what was going on. Most importantly, I was overjoyed to see this game is still alive in 2025, and is even getting remastered. I can't overstate how excited I am for that!

Nonetheless, the forest is quieter than I remember. After logging on every couple of months this year, I managed to find my first active user! In retrospect I've realized it was Oxyinco, and it brought me so much joy seeing you! I hope you're having a good day. I'm going to try and make it a habit to update this blog with an additional screenshot every time I'm on :]

Also, thanks to old me for writing down all of my deer names on here. I was convinced I've only ever made one, so finding quite a few nice pictograms saved was a pleasure!

Thank you everyone who has given me a warm welcome before, and I'm looking forward to seeing you in the forest again and again. Sorry my presence has been flaky, I have gone on a long trip that look a lot of prep, as well as gotten 1 cat richer in my life, so I haven't had time to walk the forest as much as I'd like.
