Bandwagoning I guess

Zerg:

Orca Set - Her tribute to her Koi friends. The pelt is genetic. She claims the orca mask makes understanding the fish when they talk underwater even easier. Her orca antlers are genetic.

Dotd pelt - Kind of symbolic. I consider her to be reborn to the forest after a life which ended elsewhere. Plus it's such an awesome pelt... She'll only wear this during certain weather conditions now, since she doesn't like to scare others.
Long Mask - It was the first mask she was ever pelted with as a fawn. She immediatly loved it and decided it was going to be part of her adult set.
Magpie feathers - Genetics (mothers side?). These only show up sometimes, but typically grow out of her orca horns (which I kind of consider to be like velveted horns on her) during weather conditions.

Mar Sart:

Silver Pelt - Genetic. (presumably, one parent was a perma-devout, the other perma-black pelt. mix that and you've got gray, or Zerg's case, black and white spotted)
Kirin antlers - Genetic. (father's side?)
Orca Mask - Kind of a tribute to being friends with the Koi, and he wears it because his sister does as well. Since the two look otherwise pretty different set-wise, this shows their relation.

DotD pelt - Same reason as Zergs. Symbolic of being reborn.
Hair Mask - No real reason for this... it just kind of looks decent with the DotD pelt and kirin antlers.

Tiralarc:

Real Deer Antlers - Genetic
Secretary Pelt - He kind of goes for the 'soldier' look, and that pelt just fits the bill best.
Real Deer Mask - Kind of a preferance to the longer face.

Driftwood:

Real Deer Mask - Covering up the flat face. His real deer mask is made of red wood, and a twig sticks out of the masks mouth, in tribute to the cowboy mentality.
Real Deer Pelt - He seems to prefer seeming more realistic. Genetic.

That was fun! Although, Menelaus is really freaked out by the fog and wolves. That's why you'll see him cowering when it comes. But he still loves to dance.

An earthy-toned figure moved amongst the fog. Bats seemed to flock to the old deer, by some strange feat of nature. As naked as he was, the rune between his antlers cut a path through the dark air. More mist puffed out of his nostrils as he pounded across the ground - without his color, it seemed as if the cares of old age had melted away. Still, new ones had come to replace them. His eyes wild, the stag leapt over the branches and logs in his way, barreling towards the shadows in the distance marking the Ruins.

Without a backward glance at the few deer he passed, he seemed possessed by the devil, his path straight as an arrow but at a breakneck pace. Those who recognized him lowered their antlers in tense anxiety - something was wrong, but they didn't dare follow. An earthy trail was kicked up in his wake, and he would have run even further, had the cold, unforgiving stone of the Ruins not stopped him. The stag slammed into a pillar, his knees buckling under him, and collapsed to the ground. He writhed on the cold grass for a few furious paces, but his newly-young body was as exhausted as his old mind, and, at last, he lay still, his breath coming in deep gasps.

Another, darker shape emerged out of the shadows. Its ruby-red eyes were the brightest part of the beast, shining brightly. The doe neared the limp stag fearlessly - she needed no qualms about his frenzied state. He jumped considerably when she lowered her head to him, breathing in his smell. Her bloodred gaze met his, observing how his eyes were white with deranged fear, and she stroked his fur with her face before raising her neck and looking to the sky. The shadows around the pair were darker, and writhed with more intensity than the surrounding night - the air smelled of decay. The doe breathed in and out more slowly, closing her eyes in a deliberate sort of way. Several minutes passed of utter silence. At last, the darkness retreated, and the two deer were left in peace.

...Rain was still gloomy and tried to avoid other deer. The thick mist didn't scare her today, even the howling and bats that creeped her before now were old news. She was drowned to the top of her antlers in despair and loneliness and wasn't really paing attention to where she was going. She didn't notice that no other deer was heard or sensed, that ecxept for the howling and the flapping sound of the bat's wings, she couldn't hear a thing. Then, all of a sudden she heard a fawn's voice. Poor thing must be lost and scared. The voice was weeping and calling to her. She wanted to be alone, but she was a doe for Twin Gods's sake! She was a fawn herself once and she knew how scary it can be to be all alone in the forest at night away from others. Rain tossed her despair aside. The fawn could have hurt himself in that thick fog or maybe bullied, lets face it its spring - stags get pretty crazy by that time and they don't stand even offsprings near their does. Rain galoped towards the voice. But it seemes to come from everywhere. And the weirdest thing was - she didn't feel the scent of this fawn... strange..Damn this mist!
Then she saw a big dark silhouette rising from the fog. "The Ruin?" she thought "Oh no, if fawn hurt himself somwhere in the Ruin this could be pretty serious." But is this place really the Ruin? The Ruin was just a foundation by now, with a few arches and columns left... But what she saw was a great building, like an ancient castle or a monastery... There were no lights exept for one little spark - a candle... Rain came a bit closer. Near the entrance arch stood a young woman, dressed in white. She was barefoot and bare-headed. She held her hand out towards Rain and waved, as if asking to follow. Rain felt a little scared, but she had this feeling that this strange girl knows her and maybe can know something about her past. She followed the girl into the inner yard.
- Who are you?- she asked.

My first impression of this 'game' was WTF. What are those glowing symbols, why is everyone belling and how the hack can I change my deer's outfit?
Well, I haven't figured out all those things yet. I do know what that symbol is - my avatar image - and I know that I have to wait (play?) a month to grow up. But how do I change my skin, my horns, my face?
It's a long way to go. I don't even know if it's worth it (I hope so). After I've bought (!!!) The Graveyard and played it (and died) I'm impressed by Tale Of Tales. But a deer screensaver thing? I don't know. Let's see what happens in the next month until I get grown up!

Ich hoffe mal es gibt irgendwo auch Deutsche hier in dem Game, praktisch wär's. Falls es da welche gibt, über Kontakt und evt. eine Einführung in das Spiel bzw. diese Seite, damit ich wenigstens weiss, wie ich etwas erfahren kann, wäre durchaus hilfreich. Ich weiss (noch) nicht ob man hier im Blog Kommentare schreiben kann oder nicht, ich bin aber gegebenfalls über meine EMail Adresse erreichbar: daniel@codefreak.net
