Dotd mask \(n.n)/

Hello Laughing out loud

Would some good soul be willing to cast the DotD mask on my deer?

I'm in the poppy meadow near the old ruins (^u^) White pelt, plume and owl mask (that’s me)

Hello!

Hello, hello!

I just found out about this game today. what a fun concept! i've only played a couple minutes so far but i've had a lot of fun exploring Smiling

i've seen a few deer around! some were fawns like me, but others were all grown up with the craziest styles. i came here right after seeing them to find out how i can look as cool as them Laughing out loud

turns out i just need to give it some time haha who'd of thought haha

anyways, all the deer i've seen so far have been pretty sleepy. they didn't even wake up when i said hello or jumped around! who knew deer were such deep sleepers haha

i'm gonna keep running around for a while Smiling

see ya in the forest!

To save forests, cut some trees down, scientists say

Forests are feeling the heat. In places like the American West, rising temperatures and drought mean less water for trees, sometimes shriveling swaths of woodland. Now, scientists have found that thinning early in forest growth creates tougher trees that can endure climate change. What's more, these thinned forests can suck carbon out of the air just as fast as dense forests.

"When it comes to carbon sequestration and climate change adaptation, we can have our cake and eat it too," says Andrew Larson, forest ecologist at the University of Montana in Missoula and author of the new study. "It's a win-win."

As trees grow, they convert carbon dioxide to food and store it in their leaves, trunks, and roots. U.S. forests capture between 10% to 20% of U.S. emissions each year. But if trees get too crowded, they compete for light and water—and stressed trees are more susceptible to drought and insect attacks. Removing some trees can ease the competition, letting the remaining trees grow big and healthy. But scientists worry that removing trees can reduce forest carbon storage. These worries, however, are based mostly on models and short-term studies.

To see if the climate trade-off truly exists, scientists tapped into a long-term experiment in northwestern Montana. In 1961, U.S. Forest Service officials started the experiment in a young forest of western larch—a conifer common in the Inland Northwest. The forest was broken up into plots. In some plots, the 8-year-old trees were thinned from tens of thousands per hectare down to 494 per hectare (2.5 acres). These trees grew thick trunks and broad canopies. Other plots were left alone, and the teeming trees grew tall and skinny as they competed for sunlight. The original study was rooted in an interest in growing timber rapidly. But the scientists at the University of Montana sprouted a new question: How did tree density affect carbon storage?

. The Rut 2023 . (Finished + a Poll!)

Please consider taking this brief survey regarding a proposed change to the Rut event!

The Rut
Intro

This event starts on the 16th of September and ends on the night of the 1st of October

Welcome to the Fourteenth Year of the annual Rutting Event!

In reality The Rut is a time where does gather and stags attempt to round them up for breeding. In their quest for romance, the stags battle one another to win the attention of the does, who only want the best of the best. It is an impressive spectacle for nature enthusiasts all over to observe.

In The Endless Forest where the rules of nature do not apply, The Rut is an organized contest and an annual tradition; a competitive game in which characters of all types and backgrounds gather simply for the thrill and entertainment of reenacting its concept. It is a perfect opportunity for characters to gain development, prove themselves to one another, expand their social circle, and enjoy themselves.

And so it's a Kumu. ( I am publishing the news at Final's old request )
As some already know, the sparrow is no longer with us. At 8 a.m., she left. It's a big loss. In the last months, she felt very bad and everything was going to this, but everyone hoped that everything would work out....but no.

I hope that now she is in a wonderful place where she will not get sick and will do whatever she wants. Tef became for her the realization of some of her ideas, plots and characters. She also met some people. Although she couldn 't sit in it lately , she wrote me the following :
You don 't have to act it out , just sit in the same place as a ghost
After all, I've been ill since I was young and I have nothing to leave behind, so let her stay
People can come to her and never know loneliness
They can write in her bio in the comments that they want to make wishes, maybe at least this way I can... Do something for others? Inspire them with hope and faith?

She asked me to sit at the Piaf account sometimes so that the players could not feel the loneliness that she sometimes felt. Therefore, sometimes Piaf will appear in tef. Most often she will be sitting near her favorite place. Do not hesitate to come and sit next to her.
_Also in this regard, we propose to gather in the forest, in Piaf's house near the Weeping Stone and honor her bright memory_

laziness

at the moment, 55 players are playing, but they just sit and do nothing, it's sad. Sad

When I see a player running, I run to him and rejoice, but he just passes by and does not pay attention to me. Sticking out tongue
