Hide your face, don't let them see it. Wear the mask so they will never know who you really are.

It wraps around you like a strange flower, but your eyes peer behind them. You are kind and your eyes show it. You whisper soft and beautiful words to those around you, but they run off, too busy to hear you speak.

It doesn't matter, you smile as you watch them run and play with their friends. The violet flowers in your antlers flutter in the wind. You catch a whiff of the perfume and it brings back memories of a time where you barely knew anyone in the Forest, and even then you were happy to dance and nuzzle them. Things were so much different back then - not everyone was so lovestruck as they are today, and everyone loved each other quite equally.

Walking off, you find the Pond. You look at the face that stares back at you. Gentle eyes, a lovely smile, and that mask. What are you hiding from?

You close your eyes and raise your head, taking in the smell of the water. It makes you remember being a fawn, laughing as you splashed in the pond with other little ones. "Come play with us! Come on, it's fun!", the words echo in your mind.

You jump into the water. You feel the cooling water clean off your body. The colors of your pelt change to a lovely brown and white. You feel the violet flowers fall from your antlers. You watch as the mask on your face disintegrates...

You emerge, shaking off the water. You walk away from the Pond, and finding a patch of those violet flowers, you lower your antlers and let them get entangled once again. They are symbolic to you, and bring back too many memories for you not to wear.

Your face is bare, kind, and glistening. You soon find a group of deer, and they look to you curiously. "Redkora? You look...different...", they say to you.

As some of you may know, there was a show on TV for ten years called Mystery Science Theater 3,000, created by Joel Hodgson. This show was a huge success, and the fanbase is gigantic. The show's idea is simple enough: Play a bad movie, and have someone make fun of it. Let's take a look:



You're probably thinking, "Okay, that's funny, but what's your point?" Well, Joel once answered a question I posted that would be included in an interview that is posted here.

Me (Sensoria): "Hey, Joel. This isn’t a question (so it will probably be promptly thrown out), but I just wanted to say that your work in MST3K and Cinematic Titanic inspire me to be creative, even if I’m not the best artist in the world."

Joel: "Being creative even though you’re not the best artist is my story in a nutshell. Have you ever seen the MST3K pilot at TV 23? When I was working on MST3K I was always wondering where the creative fans were, and where were all the people we were hoping to inspire? It’s nice to see that emerging now. Creative people know this and I’m sure you’ll agree, there is so much pleasure in making things. It’s sort of its own reward."

Point being: Even if you feel like your skill in creative endeavors is sub-par, remember why you do it in the first place: For yourself!

Eep! I seem to have disappeared for a while. Rest assured it was for no particular reason, on the offchance anyone was overly concerned (but probably not ).

TEF is still a very deer (dear) place in my heart, though, so even if I do get distracted from time to time I will eventually wander back to my forested home.

As a side-note, life's not been too generous lately... I'm in a bit of a hard spot right now. So, I was wondering if those animated siggies I was making a while ago, are still enjoyed? Is there still a demand for them? Because maybe I can open up requests again... but I'd really need to charge a small fee this time. As painful as it feels to take money for such enjoyable work, I have always short-changed myself, always felt bad about taking money for anything, but to be perfectly honest right now... I need the help. :c

So, if I was to do that, I'd let people completely customise what they want from their deer animation. I'd be able to make any pose you want, doing any animation you want. Sitting peacefully as a butterfly flits about, frolicking playfully in the grass, multiple deer interacting with eachother, the options are pretty limitless. If I made GIFs, the animations could be used almost anywhere, but they'd just loop (not so bad for simple things). But SWF animations could be even more complex, behaviours could even be randomised so that it truely feels alive, the only problem is most other forums don't allow SWF files (they do here at TEF, though) but they could still be used on personal blogs and such, so that's still pretty cool I think.

I feel confident I could make some really wonderful custom work, like the first batch of running/walking deer that people seemed to enjoy, the only problem is I can't start doing it for free again. But If there's still any interest, I could work out pricing and other details and take it from there.

I should know, I've been there!

A couple of days back( too lazy to post any time sooner) I took my bike and went to the local woods
to take in my much needed dose of nature.

The route I took reminded me of Tale of tales in general because; It's through a forest
there's and old little Monastery, though intact unlike it's virtual counterpart,
and last but not least there's the old playground where I from now on will be hanging about with a rolled up carpet and a pack of smokes >:3( I reeeaally hope this makes sense to the most of you)

anyhow I was probably the only soul in the forest at the time, the sky was such a thick dark tone of grey you would think it grased the tree tops, giving it a real ambient feel.

after a couple of minutes I come past this chainlink fence with a little reed filled lake wich seemed like a real frog's nest, being a real biology-man I decided to stay there for a minute and hope to spot some nature and, well the second I push in my breaks and set my two feet on the ground I see two deer walking up from the opposite direction.

General mood: Happeh face

as soon as I saw the pair (a young buck and his lady friend) walk behind that fence to drink all the connections with The Endless forest came to mind.

To be clear these were Roe Deer and not the weird human-faced anomalies you are accustomed to
but it was phun to see those deer, to bad the highway was 50 feet away but you can't have it all now can you.

it was nice and I might post some extra details here when I come back right now I gotta go but If you have something similair happend to you, please post it cause I would love to read It!

Well Day five has struck, And Wraithy Has had a Dillema.
After drinking from the lake, he saw another 6 fawn's roughly six at least.
All of them had Antlers grown/Growing-Yet-Visible|.
It gave him a thought, How would he want to grow?, Magestic yet robust?.
Or elegant with a hint of mystery?, So i got comparing many of the older deers in the forest.

So Wraithy has a large problem, He doesnt know if he really wants to still be a fawn.
Yes he will have to wait, But for how long?.
Also his day was rather limited due to a Lack of time [Busy day T.T]
However I reckon Day six for wraithy will show a large suprise I just know it.

Wraithy is looking forward to playing with you just like he does with the fully grown deers :3
