Naturespark (shortstory)

Inspiration, and a little from this too

He stood before the world, staring deep with newborn eyes. The land was scarred, burning, withered, and dying...

Things were much different, a long time ago. The land was much more beautiful. What had happened was unknown to him, but he lived in the consequences of so many terrible choices.

"Mother...", he spoke, "How could it come to this?"

"It's our burden to bear, my son.", his mother replied. "None of us were the cause, but all of us must suffer."

"It's so unfair...", the fawn said.

"Nothing is ever fair. We live in times where those who live to serve and protect are cast down by those who only care for themselves...", the doe sighed. "Not one soul will ever give itself to save the others."

The words touched her son. He looked upon the crying land, and with deep confidence, spoke to his mother, "I will."

The doe looked to him in shock. "No, my son! You haven't lived your life! You should not be the one to sacrifice for the mistakes of the world."

Her fawn smiled just slightly, "It's okay, mother. I would give my life to see a beautiful world than live in this one."

And as the words were spoken, he rested his body on the ground, closing his eyes and speaking, "Let my life save the world." He drew his last breath and collapsed, his very life drawn deep into the earth. His mother watched as all around him sprung green grass and wildflowers. Trees seemed to shoot up, growing rapidly and digging deep within the soil. The land was transformed within a matter of moments, what would have taken years to do happened before the doe's eyes in an instant.

The naturespark slowed as things seemed to be set in place once again. A lush forest covered the barren land, and soon many other animals arrived to bask in wonder.

The mother herself held her head proudly.

~A day [of a Gecko] in the Life~

I just realized that I've shown my lovely pet gecko everywhere but here. Shocked You poor deprived souls. xD.
So this blog post will serve as a sort of photo gallery. ;D Today I got some pictures of her out in the autumn weather in fact. ♥
But first I guess I should tell about her, eh?

This here is Famine, a hypo-tangerine leopard gecko. She's roughly about two to three years old, and has been in my ownership for just over a year. <3
Now all you reptile-phobics out there, let me say this: They are not that bad, honestly! There's only a handful of these that I wouldn't want to touch or own. Imagine them as furless cats or dogs. Or just simply navigate away from this page. ;3
If you have any questions about Famine, her species, or just reptile keeping in general I'll be happy to answer to the best of my ability! However I'm a bit more comfortable on answering questions on leopard geckos or anoles, since I've actually owned these.
Anyway, enough chat.

MEETING ANYONE?

If you want to then meet tonight at the pond, im seeing how many people - deers - I can get to go. If you can go then make a comment below!!! Sticking out tongue

Halloween Pics (late)

Let's just say I found the Lamp that Never Was.

Blurry camera was blurry.

BUMBLE BEAN.
And a camera-shy Rony mooning the camera. (SEE THAT SAIX! A MOON! *shot*)
Looking at it now, I should have remembered to straighten my hair again before putting the wig on. Streaks of red curliness threatened to take over.

Got my dad in his costume in a few shots, but the camera was dieing so most shots were very messy. XD Here was one of the better shots, along with the dogs.

THEN THE ADHD HITS.

In other words, I saw COSTUMERS and had to give out candy quickly. |D

Santa Baby...

I can't accept mailed gifts this year because my neighborhood is still new and the mailman is somewhat unreliable. Sorry! I can accept e-mailed art and cards, though. Smiling

I like Christmas e-cards. I'm a sucker for them.
I like poems and stories that the giver writes.
I like fan art (winter themed or not) of my deer, . Here is his bio.
I like general deer art.
I like general winter-themed art for Christmas, like this: http://meemgroup.org/blog/?p=95
As for the style of art that I like, I like all kinds.
Also! I love nature photography.

What I like most of all is something that means a great deal to the giver. I feel as if they are sharing something important about them with me, and that means a lot to me.

Thank you! <3

Mistchill's Waking

... It feels as if I've been sleeping in darkness for a very long time... until this day. On this day the dark slipped away, and I found myself... alive, perhaps. Existing, as thought, as action, something in a physical world...
I have a body, and a voice... there are others around me, though I am not yet sure of them. Do they truly exist? Do I? Is this world I have come to... all a strange dream come suddenly in my endless sleep? Or is it something more? A reality I will grow into?
Movement comes to me quickly, but I believe it will take time, if I have time, to come to understand my awakening. Does water always leak from the sky in a constant torrent? And the others, all bigger, stronger, seemingly disconnected from myself... what is their story? Or is it all an illusion...
