Brave heart Gentle soul } A private rp between Emslee and OrinocoFlow

OrinocoFlow's picture
This rp shall chronicle the time Leonardo and Nadya spend in the human world with his 'witch'. Due to events that grew and grew on the large buck's shoulders he could not stand to stay in the forest and asked if his mate could come as he knew he would not return in just a few days. Leaving without so much as a goodbye to anyone the two vanished from the magical forest

This is a private rp amongst Emslee and I, you may post to track but please no comments here. If you wish to comment please do so on either Leo or Nadya's blogs. :3
Thank you and enjoy the rp.

Excitement filled him as she

Excitement filled him as she seemed more then eager to leave as well. He couldn’t wait to trail his behind as he left. At least out there they don’t look down upon me… at least I was cared about in their own sick way he was cared about. He was one of the very few prize looking trophy elk & they had to keep him healthy to stay alive. He nuzzled her, though in more of an attempt to suppress his great excitement ”Of course you will be coming with me” he whispered to her. ”I promise to try my hardest, pretty one, to get you to your family” he added before standing tall & giving one last look over at their current place of resting. ”Do you wish to farewell the others?” he asked, already knowing his own answer but he wanted to make sure his mate had no regrets. He was ready to go, but he would wait until his mate was certain she was.

She looked at him and shook her head,"No I'll be quite alright and I'm sure most of them will understand"she said nuzzling him. Her eyes sparkled with anticipation at the world that awaited. She wondered how much it had changed. And the greatest of all, to see her mother, her family. Even if they didn't even know she existed she desired so much just to see them..hear them one last time.

”Then we shall go” he said.

”Then we shall go” he said. Beginning to walk, though stopping every now & then to make sure Nadya kept up. There were different places he had left the forest & even sometimes when he could not… he really hoped this wasn’t going to be one of those times. He was thankful for the times he was injured & he could just leave where he was resting. He led her to the highest hill point he could find which was somewhere located in the birch. His gaze moved around & made sure they were alone as he walked over to a lone large tree. Sniffing it, he made sure it was clean of any stranger scents as he motioned for Nadya to come closer. Standing right beside her, he lifted his head & mumbled some things that couldn’t be understood before somehow moving his head down & touching his nose to his orb necklace. As soon as the soft skin of his nose hit the necklace his eyes turned completely white. There was no pupils, no blood vessels… they were completely white. He lifted his head a little higher & looked down to his mate ”It is time, Nadya” he said, his voice being lower then it usually was. He walked towards the tree & stopped just at its trunk before turning to look at his mate, his eyes still white ”It’s ok” he whispered before disappearing into the tree trunk.

She smiled wide and turned to follow him. Her cherry eyes watching curiously as he sniffed a large tree. She heard strange words but could no figure out exactly what they were. When his eyes turned white she backed up frightened slightly by this change. She nodded as his deep voice told her that all was ok. With a deep shaky breath she followed him into the trunk...all swirled black around her for only a while before she emerged on the other side.

He opened his eyes once he

He opened his eyes once he heard birds singing. They weren’t like the ones back in the forest though, it was a sweet sound & there wasn’t constant mooing or crying from fawns. It felt peaceful & he relaxed looking over to make sure his mate was ok. His eyes had turned back to their ice blue color as he looked around. He hadn’t been this far in a while & usually he would emerge much closer to his witches but he thought it would be a nice stroll for Nadya to see what kind of place it is out here. The early morning sun rays were bright enough to help pave their way through the forest. This place is just as beautiful as the last time he said in his head. He lifted his head & shook his body slightly as the wind blew through. ”Are you ok?” he asked at a whisper, looking down to his mate & nuzzling her ”Would you like to rest? It will be quite a time before we reach her home.”

Her eyes went wide at the

Her eyes went wide at the world. It lacked the magic of the forest but she didn't care. It felt like home again. The earth...the place she knew as a human. Oh how peaceful it was made even better by the fact she had the one she loved with her. "I am ok.."she said her voice a bit distant as she took in her surroundings. When he questioned her on whether or not she wanted to rest she smiled and shook her head causing the feather to flop around. "No Im fine lets go. I'm eager to see what you called home before the endless forest"she said her tail wagging lightly. She skipped forward a few steps then leaned her head back as she waited for him.

He smiled at her enthusiasm &

He smiled at her enthusiasm & was glad she was eager to go. As he started walking, he didn’t feel the constant worry of like he felt in the forest. He wasn’t worried about being attacked by a naked or by Umay & her minions. There were predators here… yes, but last he was here he was the biggest creature to roam this forest. It was nice… it was calm & if he could, he would stay here… forever. It felt easy here but he knew his mate would no choose this. He knew she would follow him anywhere, but he couldn’t take her away from her friends & family she had made. ”I guess I shall warn you, my love, that you can’t talk to my girl… physically you can’t. She doesn’t understand our language so it seems” he said, continuing to walk along an old worn out path ”Witch, on the other hand seems to understand a lot. I never understood how she knew what I was saying but I think somehow she can read my mind… perhaps she can read yours too” he said with a small smile.

She walked slowly by his side

She walked slowly by his side staying close as she knew in this form predators would go after her more than as a human. With her big guy by her side however she felt she'd be just fine. When he explained about his girl and the witch she listened very closely. As she was not human anymore she knew her behavior had to be changed. What really intrigued her was meeting this witch, especially if they could talk to her in this form.[olor=#00bfff]"Alright I will remember that"[/]she said looking at him for a moment before turning her head forward. A soft expression filled her face."I hope she likes me..your girl"she said glancing back at him.

A small chuckle left his muzzle at her last words ”of course she will like you, my love” he reassured her. He knew his girl would… he knew if he loved Nadya, then his girl would too. He lifted his head a little, his nostrils widening as he breathed in the sweet fresh air ”Isn’t it beautiful?” he whispered, opening his eyes yet keeping his head up. He pinned his ears back slightly as the image of his family & friends entered it as his head went from high to down. He sighed, almost slumping his shoulders if he could ”You think they’re ok?” he asked at a whisper his eyes moving to his mate ”back home, I mean.” He hoped he could ask his witch for guidance upon his return, perhaps she could & maybe she could let him know they were ok.

She sniffed the air and nodded,"It is , it really is"she said giving him a nuzzle before turning to look around. When he lowered his head and she saw the sad look on his face she too lowered her ears. "I ..I think so. Fletcher is strong...though I know he wasn't too well but he will be ok.. the others are there "she felt a bit bad now as well but she believed they would be ok.She hoped so for her mate's sake.

”I’m sure they will be” he

”I’m sure they will be” he nodded ”Perhaps they won’t be targeted since I’m not there” he hesitate for a moment before whispering ”Perhaps they’ll have replaced me in the group” . He didn’t know if Nadya heard or not… deep down he hoped she hadn’t. He didn’t want to upset her anymore then already being away from them & perhaps it would be better for the group to have a larger male that was more respected in the forest. He wouldn’t blame them. He kept quiet after that for some time & before he knew it, it was already starting to get dark. He knew there was still a small journey left to get to his witches but he knew Nadya needed to rest. He had to as well… more so mentally. The scenery looked familiar as he gestured for her to follow & he finally found an old dead tree. It was similar to the old oak though not near as big but enough for the both of them. He waited for her to enter before laying down so she could get comfortable into his side. He rested his head & wasn’t long before he fell asleep.

The doe looked up at him

The doe looked up at him frowning merely at his comment of them not being targeted as if it were his fault that they were."Oh darling..."she said giving him a nuzzle. He murmured and she pulled back and looked at him curiously but he offered no louder repeat of his statement. She could see he really didn't want to say it again or have her hear it. She worried for him but did not want to make him distressed by pushing the matter. Hopefully seeing this witch and his 'girl' would help him relax some. "Leonardo, regardless of what the group feels about you....or how you are treated..I will follow you where ever. Even if you choose to leave them I will go..you are my world..."she said moving close and nuzzling him. "I love you so much..you saved me at a hard time and I don't plan on ever abandoning you"she said giving him a big nuzzle before entering the large tree he had found. It was warm and cozy and would soon be cozier with her big mate by her side. As he rested his head she placed her next to his and fell asleep.

The dream was unbelievable &

The dream was unbelievable & he kept in the same laying position with his eyes open trying to rethink the whole thing. Did he really just play with half of his family? Did he really see his little girl again? He had hoped so… it felt so real… he swore he could still smell them & he was so relieved to see Halla well & alive. Oh how he wishes he could have touched them properly… talk to them, especially since Fletcher wasn’t there, he desperately wanted to know how he was doing. The sun was just beginning to shine over the landscape & he knew if they started early enough they could reach the witches before night fall. He scooted from underneath Nadya & gently prodded her awake… not sure if he should tell her of his dream or if it may upset her if it was real & she wasn’t there to experience it either.

She stirred awake. She had

She stirred awake. She had not been so fortunate to have had a wonderful dream like that. Her's was silent and dark, no dreams for her tonight. Flecks of color would sometimes come to her mind but nothing concrete. She yawned and looked up at him with sleepy eyes. She could see in his ice blue eyes a bit of a struggle as if he had something on his mind. She looked back at him quizzically but said nothing. Again she didn't want to bother him with her concerns. After getting up she stretched then looked around. "It is so beautiful her early in the morning"she said giving him a soft nuzzle before peeking out of their tree. "Did you sleep well?"she asked wondering if this roundabout question would get him to talk about what was on his mind.

He moved back as she rose &

He moved back as she rose & gave her a gentle morning nuzzle as he followed her gaze to the outside ”It is” he said quietly with a warm voice. Her question threw him a little. Still wondering if he should tell her or not, though he would rather her be upset & know then keep something from her… he could never have a secret from his love. He moved to the entrance of the old tree & glanced down to her ”I will tell you all about the dream I had, pretty one but first you must eat before we journey.” He motioned for her to stay as he left & came back shortly after. The forest here was abundant with different kinds of food. He never ate anything bad so he just gathered bit of everything & knew there would sure to be good stuff in the pile. Bringing it back on a large leaf he placed it at her hooves ”Breakfast, my love” he said dipping his head & chuckling… at least his mood was better.
OrinocoFlow's picture

She blushed softly at the big

She blushed softly at the big pile of food placed before her,"Oh Leo!"she exclaimed at the bountiful feast. "You didn't have to"she said with the warmest smile and a loving nuzzled before she lowered her head to eat. Everything was good, there was not one morsel left by the time she was done with it. She sighed feeling wonderfully full now and the growing body inside her seemed satisfied as well. She looked up at him and nuzzled him, being sure to keep the food juices from his fur. "So what was this dream you had darling?"She was curious. It was not a subject they discussed often, and she herself barely had interesting dreams even in forest. She figured it was the peace of the forest that gave her such perfect , yet dreamless sleep. "I did not dream at all..unfortunately"she said with a laugh.

He watched & waited for her

He watched & waited for her to finish eating. Glad she enjoyed it & seemed their unborn child had as well. He rested & motioned for her to as well ”You have a full belly, my love” he said quietly ”Rest while I tell you about it and we shall then be on our way” . He waited for her to get comfortable before breathing in a deep breathe & exhaling, trying to make the faint memory of his dream clearer. He closed his ice blue eyes & pinned his ears back before opening them. Turning his gaze to the outside, he flicked his ears at the sounds of the morning birds. It sounded beautiful, but nothing compared to his dream ”It was wonderful” he whispered ”Su-mi was first I saw. We tried to nuzzle each other but it was impossible. I couldn’t feel anything physically. We played, reared & bounced. I didn’t even care who saw me.” A slight chuckle left his muzzle as he continued ”I saw Tea by her tree and desperately tried waking her up to no avail, so I left as I scented Halla. I hadn’t seen that young doe for some time” his gaze moved to his mates ”She looked well… as well as to be expected from having been gone for some time” he paused for a moment, allowing his mate to process all the information & because he had to remember everything that had happened ”We went back over to Tea and she finally awoke. It was so good to see her even though she was alone. We all played and danced” a deep laugh left his mouth at the thought ”Yes I danced” he said smiling warmly. Quickly his smile faded as the last memory was the easiest to remember ”and then I had to leave” he whispered ”I didn’t get to see if Fletcher was alright from his injuries but I was so glad I got to see who I did” he hung his head before looking back to his mates cherry red eyes ”I’m sorry you weren’t there my love… I don’t even know I was there and I don’t even know if it was real or dream but it did feel so real.”

She smiled though a hurt look

She smiled though a hurt look filled her eyes as well. "it sounds lovely Leonardo"she said her tone dreamy. What a lucky buck he'd been. Her dreams had been nothing, just vast darkness. "I miss them...."she added but looked back up."We have come so far already though..I..I want to see my mother, I have to.."she said feeling a bit of desperation fall into her words. She fell silent again and her eyes glanced down at the dirt. Her heart ached for her baby Tea and for those who were her family back in the Endless forest. "I ...I hope I have a dream like that too"she said softly and sighed.

He felt a little guilty at

He felt a little guilty at her sadness & he was right to feel that way. He had the luxury of seeing them, of playing with them. His body slumped slightly as he sighed ”I… I sure hope you do too, pretty one” he said, trying to sound convincing she may have one. His eyes moved to the outside once again, the forest was full of life, the birds were singing & it just made it more beautiful, though here they were, sitting in an old hollow tree being depressed. He quickly rose to his hooves & made his way to the entrance of the old tree before turning his head around to make eye contact with his love ”Then I suggest we leave, Nadya” he said in a serious tone ”You will be able to see your family and we will be able to return quickly back to the forest…” he hesitated ”back to… home” he managed to get out. It seemed strange to call the forest home, even though it was. He still felt some of his home belonged to his witch & girl. He figured wherever his heart was, was his home.

She forced a smile and

She forced a smile and nodded,"Alright that sounds like a plan"she said then rose to her hooves and moved to his side. She gave a warm nuzzle before stepping out into the sun. It felt nice, especially on her full stomach. The simple nature of a warm ray of light seemed to lift her moods some. "Ok let us go"she said with a much sweeter smile, rid of sadness. Her eyes were closed however knowing that they would betray her emotions more than anything. She moved forward and looked around. The forest here was alive with creatures small and large. Oh how it brought back memories of her old life when she would sneak into the forests to study them. She wondered if her animal sketchbook was still on her desk. Did they keep her stuff? She wasn't sure though she hoped the visit to her home would clear up any worries she had.

He followed her lead outside

He followed her lead outside until moving his grey hooves a little faster to be by her side. He didn’t say much though there wasn’t much to say, he hoped his mate was enjoying the different scenery & peace. They hadn’t come in company with any predators yet & hopefully they would move on once getting a closer look & becoming intimidated by the bulls’ size. As they walked, he was surprised that they were coming up to the witches little cottage already. They had made good progress & he was grateful for this that his mate wouldn’t have to trek for much longer. Finally after a little more time, a small cottage in the middle of the wilderness came into view. It was small, though for one person it was plenty. It had a very homey feel to it & it was made more beautiful by the flowers, vegetables & fruit growing all around it. It looked much more abundant then his last visit, though he knew she took extra care with it all during the colder months. As the cottage came clearer into view he saw her… his witch was already waiting for them by her garden. Of course she knew they were coming & had been awaiting their arrival since they first decided to leave their home.

Nadya walked carefully

Nadya walked carefully through the forest. A nostalgic look in her eyes as they scanned the fauna and flora around her. Mentally she named the various plants and animals. It was a sad yet happy memory that she received while doing this. Her eyes would occasionally flicker back to her mate and she would smile before turning back to the scenery around her. Steadily it changed. Meadows became deeper forests and the sweet smell of vegetables wafted into her nostrils. Something cooking also entered though the scent was unfamiliar. She was about to look to her mate to ask if he knew what it was but his gaze distracted her. She turned to see what it was he was looking at and found herself stopping when the cottage and the witch came into view. Her shy nervousness took hold. Perhaps it was just the deer side of her suddenly feeling skittish. Leonardo did not seemed worried but she held back and walked behind him to see what he'd do first. When she felt she was close enough she did a side step to hide behind a tree then peek out at her. Her ears were partially flat as they were usually held but they were just a tad lower, showing her nervousness.

A smile had kept on the

A smile had kept on the witches face & a small one showed itself on the bulls. He had stopped for a short moment before beginning to walk again. ”Leonardo” she said as she walked at a fast pace & made her way to his side. Her long brown hair was straight down, not a hair out of place & as her brown eyes landed on his blue ones, her smile grew wider. She was in her late thirties though looked like she was in her early twenties. Whether that was natural was another matter, but she still had a beauty in herself none the same ”I have missed you, strong one” she whispered, as Leo pressed his cheek to her chest & she stroked his face. Her eyes moved over his small wounds & she furrowed her eyebrows as she shook her head slightly ”We’ll have to get them taken care of” she whispered to herself before Leo moved to the side & glanced over to his mate ”It’s ok” he said to her before the witch slowly made her way over to the small doe ”It’s nice to finally meet you Nadya and might I say you sure are a pretty little thing.” she said smiling & slowing making her way over to Nadya. As she neared she moved her hand out & upon it sat a piece of cut apple. She stopped in front of the small brown doe though made sure she kept a small distance ”My name is Matilda”.

The doe watched as she

The doe watched as she greeted her mate. She was very gentle with him and he seemed happy to see her as well. Her eyes moved away from the woman as Leonardo spoke. She trusted him but that skittish feeling inside would still not go away. The witch then moved and her cherry red eyes shot back to her. When she spoke the doe could not help but smile. Her compliment not only was nice but made her happy to know he spoke of her when he came here. "Thank you Matilda" she said softly not sure if she could hear her or not. The apple looked delicious. There were none in the endless forest and she would be lying if she said it did not look positively appetizing. She took a small step forward and ate it from her hand. Oh sweet heavenly mercy was that delicious! A smile soon crept on to her face and her ears relaxed slightly.

Matilda returned her arm to her side as the young doe took the apple. With a large smile forming on her face the witch slowly began walking towards her cottage before stopping & turning to look at the travelers. Her long brown hair flying through the wind before falling neatly against her back ”Come” she said, motioning for them to follow ”You must rest and we have much to talk about”. She turned & continued her walking as the bull turned & stood beside his mate ”It’ll be ok” he whispered as he nuzzled her cheek & slowly followed suite of Matilda though kept his pace slow so his mate could keep up also. She led them to the back of the cottage where it was surrounded with vegetables, fruits, flowers & song birds. A small lone table & chair parked a spot right in the middle as the pale woman made her way over & sat down. Leo turned & was about to immediately head for the food until Matilda’s voice stopped him ”Leonardo” she said a little loudly ”You let Nadya eat first, we have things to discuss”. Leo looked over to the foods he had missed so much since last being here & turned away from them, droping his head as he made his way back to Matilda by the table. The brunette woman looked at Nadya & put a smile upon her face before moving her arm & hand towards the fresh produce ”Eat… you are indeed eating for two are you not?” she said with raised eyebrows & a small chuckle before looking back to Leo & getting herself ready for the discussion that was about to come to light.
OrinocoFlow's picture

The doe offered a small smile

The doe offered a small smile in return but said nothing more. As they moved she looked at the cottage. It was quaint. Obviously something that would have caught her interest as a human. When she saw the food she nearly began to drool. When offered she gave a light bow,"Oh thank you"she said politely then stepped up to the tasty morsels. Her eyes however glanced up as Leonardo was led away by the witch. What was it Matilda wanted to talk to him about? She was unsure though her mate would never lie to her and so she let it go for now and focused on eating her share and then some of the food before her.

The witch waited for the

The witch waited for the young doe to begin eating, hoping the delicious fresh food would perhaps distract her but knowing she would be interested in knowing their conversation. As she spoke, there was no need to be quiet ”You have sadness in your heart, my friend” she said with a small furrow ”As I am sure I know what it is that hurts your heart so, please… explain to me your problems” she gestured for him to get comfortable as did she while waiting for his answer. The bull rested on the ground as his eyes wandered around before speaking ”I… I just need advice” he said quietly looking to his mate to see if she was watching. He didn’t want to look weak in front of her… not in her eyes. ”I seem to not be able to do right. I can’t help feel I let my friends and family down. It seems whatever I do is never the right choice” . His blue eyes moved to her brown ones, a plea clearly shown in them, his eyes were begging for help… begging for guidance. Matilda could read him all over… she had known him for such a long time he was like a son to her ”I think you may already know that answer to your questions, my friend.” She extended her arm & quickly stroked his face before placing her hand back into her lap ”No one ever does right all the time, Leonardo and I know your thoughts… the thoughts about your group” she looked over to Nadya before she spoke again ”She is the most important one in your life right now, my boy… her and your unborn child. They are your priorities and if the others love you and respect you then they would never think negative thoughts of you”. She got up & walked over to the resting bull as she wrapped her arms around his neck best she could ”You will always have a family Leonardo… wherever you go” she whispered as he followed her gaze which landed upon his mate. His witch was right. No matter what happened… he would always have a family with his mate & their child.

Nadya listened though kept

Nadya listened though kept her eyes down so as to seem distracted. Matilda's words gave the doe a feeling of security that she had not had when they arrived. She was a good , no...wonderful person. She hoped that those words would bring peace to her mate so they could finally return to the forest. She would be lying if she said she didn't miss them. Her heart ached for her daughter tea though she knew she needed to do this. She needed to see her mother if but once. But Leo..did he have to stay for that. He got what he wanted to come for. Not to mention he can return whenever he liked. An idea came to her and she lifted her head when they stopped talking to find an opening herself to speak with the witch alone.

Both the bull & witch caught

Both the bull & witch caught sight of Nadya lifting her head as a small smile spread across both their faces… though both for different reasons. Leo knew it was Nadya’s turn for a little chat which meant he got to eat on the food & Matilda was pleased she would get to speak one on one with the young doe & hopefully guide her with whatever troubles she may have. She moved back & allowed Leo to stand ”Ok big guy… go ahead” she said laughing as Leo made his way over to the food though stopping at his mate & licking her cheek ”Did you get your fill, my love?” he whispered as he waited for her answer before going to eat himself. Matilda walked back to the cottage & brought over a large pail of fresh rain water & placed it where she knew Nadya would be resting as they spoke. She sat back on the chair & motioned for the doe to make her way over. Waiting for her to get comfortable before speaking ”Now, sweetie, what is it I could possibly help you with” she asked as her brown eyebrows rose & her dark brown eyes had warmth in them, trying to ease the doe especially since Leo wasn’t next to her. Matilda knew what the doe was requesting, in regards to seeing her family but she would allow the doe to gain the courage to speak on her own terms.

Nadya giggled softly when he licked her cheek and returned the favor. "Yes I am very full, if our child was any bigger it would be kicking me because there would be no room!"she jested and giggled at her own joke. When Matilda called her over she gave her mate one last look, nuzzled him then walked slowly to where the witch sat. She was nervous but mostly due to the fact that this human before her reminded her of her life before. Leaning down she took a sip of the cool water Matilda had provided. Both to quench her thirst and to draw out the time a bit more. "Well Matilda..."she began slowly."I am afraid...I was young when I left this world and was taken into this form. I never bore children.....so..I always imagined my mother being there when I gave birth. Since I know she can't I was hoping...hoping to at least take a look at my family. Even just a small peak to see how they are. I know that seeing them will give me that comfort I need to push through this"she said glancing back to Leonardo hoping he took no offense to this. He provided her with much comfort but nothing compares to that of a mother's warmth surrounding you during a hard time such as pregnancy.

Leo was stuffing his belly

Leo was stuffing his belly though trying his best to hear all their words & Matilda waited patiently for the young female to finish her speaking before she again reached out slowly to gently stroke the does face before replacing her hands back into her lap ”That is understandable, my child and I know Leonardo would agree” her gaze moved to the bull before moving quickly back to Nadya ”I will help you in your wish and shall take you to see them. Though there will be guidelines, so to speak” she hesitated for a moment, before continuing ”You cannot get to close or try to speak to them, though they will not understand you and I shall be with you the whole time. ” she spoke in a stern voice, only so the doe understood the importance of what she was saying. Her brown eyes moved to Leo ”Do you wish for Leonardo to accompany us?” she asked at a quiet whisper.

Nadya smiled liking how her hand felt on her face. Now she understood what her pets felt. It was an odd comparison but it was all she could come up with at the moment. As she continued to speak a smile grew on her face."Oh that is all I would need....to see them" she said feeling excitement rise in her at the thought of finally seeing them. Her eyes moved back to her mate when Matilda questioned her on if she wanted him with or not. She was silent for a moment then looked back up at Matilda."One moment"she said turning and moving over to where Leonardo was eating rather heavily. How he looked made her giggle slightly."Leonardo..darling"she said softly. "I'm worried about the family..back home. I will have Matilda with me here. Why don't you go home and see how they are doing. I can have Matilda call you when I am done"she said wondering if he'd go with the suggestion or not. She knew how protective he could be of her. But the worry was too great and knowing he was there to protect them would give her a peace of mind.

Leo was half listening &

Leo was half listening & really didn’t pay much attention when hearing his name a couple of times. This food was amazing; perhaps he could take some home to his family… though he was sure Fletcher wouldn’t appreciate apples very much. Matilda sat back as the young female made her way to her mate & Leo lifted his head & turned it slightly. A mouthful of food & juices running down his chin, he froze before quickly swallowing the mouthful in one gulp. His ears perked at her concern & surprisingly he was not scared or upset. He trusted Matilda with his own life & he had no reason whatsoever to be worried about Nadya being alone in the witches company. ”If that is what you want and truly wish for, my love, I shall do it. I trust Matilda and know you will be in good hands” he said smiling & nuzzling her gently before walking back to the pail of water & drinking his share though he ended up finishing it. ”When is it you would like to do this, Nadya” Matilda asked softly as she went to refill the pail.

She smiled at her mate glad

She smiled at her mate glad for his understanding."You see I had a dream like you did...I saw our daughter and how happy she was...I can only imagine ...if that was real it felt so real...if it was I just don't want to leave her there any longer. Not only her but our family as well. I know they must be worried sick."She moved forward to nuzzle him"Let them know I am alright and will be home soon as well"she said feeling a bit of fear at them separating. She trusted Matilda but to be in the human world without him scared her somewhat. Turning she looked up at the girl. "As soon as possible. I'd like to get home too...I miss my family"she said honestly.

Matilda got up & went inside

Matilda got up & went inside before shortly returning with a bowl & cloth. She moved the cloth around inside the bowl which had a thick paste & spread it over Leo’s wounds ”They aren’t bad” she whispered, though more talking to herself before walking to his front ”It should heal them up within a couple hours” she smiled & looked over Nadya & saw her old scar on her hind leg. Slowly walking up to it she spread the paste onto it & gave the young doe a reassuring smile ”The scar will soon vanish. It is old so it may take a couple of days… but it will leave and the hairs will grow back”. Leo looked at his wound before moving his gaze to Nadya & then Matilda ”How is she?” he asked, knowing Matilda would know who he was referring to. The witch smiled again, though it seemed the brunette had a permanent one on sometimes ”She is well and doing good. I keep a close eye out on her for you” she said quietly. The bull moved closer to his mate & nuzzled her cheek before nuzzling her side ”I will tell them, my love. There will not be a moment where my mind does not have an image or thought of you” he whispered to her before licking her cheek & looking to Matilda once again ” Please bring her back to me quickly” he said, though it sounded more like a begging. The witch nodded. She would do what she could, though in the end it all came down to Nadya as the witches eyes landed on the young doe in front of her… wondering if she was really ready for something like this. The bull interrupted as the witch was about to say something ”Were you able to get the things I was hoping for?” he asked. Matilda nodded & gestured to the cottage as Leo relaxed a little. ”I guess I’m going to head back home then so you can come back to me quicker” he said. He hoped the lack of worry from the bull didn’t upset Nadya, it’s just Matilda was one of VERY few he trusted alone with Nadya… he had no worries with her being alone in the brunette’s company at all.

She flinched as the odd stuff

She flinched as the odd stuff was placed on her scar. She could feel a tingling and the idea of it vanishing completely made her excited. From that moment things seemed to move a bit faster. Her separation anxiety speeding the time up in her mind. She heard all that was passing but by the time he stood before her saying he was to leave she jumped. A laugh escaped her and she nodded as she hid the feelings of nervousness down below her musical giggles. "Alright...please you be safe as well. Protect them and I'll be home very soon"she said giving him a fierce nuzzle onto his chest.

Matilda moved away as to give

Matilda moved away as to give the two privacy as Leo melted in his mates nuzzle. He knew it wouldn’t be for long & he already anticipated the time she would return to him ”I’ll be safe, my love & I will do everything to look out for them. You look after yourself though I know Matilda will do a good job of that” he said smiling & nuzzling her one more time before licking her cheek & walking to his witch ”I know you will but I need to say it” he whispered ”Please keep her safe and bring her back to me soon” he whispered before pressing his cheek gently against her chest as she closed her eyes & stroked his neck ”You know I will, my boy” she whispered back & opened her eyes as he stepped back. The witch quickly ran inside before coming out with a bag of sorts as she fastened it to Leo’s back before he walked out of the gate & turned at the border of the forest ”I love you, pretty one” he called out ”You will never leave my heart or mind” . He nodded to the witch as she did the same & she waved as he turned his back to them & disappeared through the trees.

She smooshed herself into his fluff the entire time they were nuzzling. When he moved away to say his farewells to the witch she felt herself shaking slightly. She did her best to be strong for him. When he looked at her she stood up straight and gave him a big smile despite the wetness in her eyes deceiving her otherwise happy posture. "I love you too Leo...and you will not leave mine.."she said back though her voice cracked near the end. She could not find the energy to move as she watched him bound away and she could not follow. She did not even wonder what was in the sack the witch had given her. When the forest was silent again and her world now at a deafening stand still she turned to Matilda."When can we leave..."she chocked out.

The witch turned as the young

The witch turned as the young doe spoke. She had expected the female to want to leave as soon as possible so she simply nodded & put a small smile upon her face ”We will leave now, if you desire” she said quietly as she turned & went into her cottage before coming back out shortly after. She hoped they would be back before dark but incase not she made sure to turn her lights on. She went over & covered her crops before locking the gate while she walked up next to Nadya. She lay her hand upon the does back, trying to comfort & support her ” We will be back soon, Nadya. No need to be sad. You are going to see your family, after all”. She started off, though it was in the opposite direction to the way Leo left. ”We must travel by trees” she whispered as she turned around to make sure the brown doe had been following. It was not a long journey to their transportation & Matilda stopped suddenly, looking away into another direction. Lifting her arm & pointing her finger in the direction she looked back to Nadya ”Past those trees & a little away is where Haley works” she said.

Nadya nodded and followed in

Nadya nodded and followed in silence. It felt odd now being without her mate. When she tried to encourage her the doe could not help but smile slightly."You are right"she said and let herself relax somewhat. She was unsure what she meant by trees however. Finally they came to a stop and Matilda pointed . "who is Haley?"she asked softly.

She rested her arm back by her side as she furrowed her eyebrows at the does question ”Well, Nadya… Haley is the girl who raised Leo. I’m sure he has talked of her” she said. After waiting for her answer, the witch continued her walking. Her dark brown hair lying perfectly still on her back & glistening in the sun that occasionally shone through the towering trees. Before no time she had stopped in front of one. It had a thick trunk though no leaves upon it. She walked up to it so she was only inches away & tapped her long finger nail four times on the bark. ”Come, child” she whispered before disappearing into the darkness.

The doe perked up,"Oh, he has

The doe perked up,"Oh, he has only called her 'my girl' before. I never knew her name"she said her voice somewhat dreamy as she glanced off in that direction. She stood for a moment then followed the witch. Silence passed between them as they moved. Like Leonardo the tree became a portal and she went through. Bright light filled her eyes and when it receded the sight that came to her nearly brought her to tears. She remembered all of this place. The road not too far off. Everything. She wandered her all the time. Slowly she stepped forward nearing the road. A flashback of her death night came to her and she jumped back. No cars were traveling up the road. She sighed then looked to see if Matilda was watching her before she followed the road in the shelter of the trees. She stopped and had to turn around when her house came to view. All her dreams, her life then came to her and it hurt terribly. She missed her life though she loved the one she had now as well. Her ears flipped up as the door opened. A young man perhaps eleven or twelve ran out with a basketball in his hand. It was brand new. Then it hit her, this boy was her brother. That ball was not the one she bought as he was only 8 then. Tears streamed down her face as she whispered his name inaudibly. Then father came out and the two played ball on the side of the house. They seemed happy. The third person made her heart skip a beat. Her mother. She looked less happy and carefree though she was healing. She had coffee and sat down to watch the boys. Every now and then though she'd glance out into the woods. A tear would roll down her cheek. She'd cast it away and return to her happy facade for the surviving family."Oh mother"she said softly wishing so much to hug her. "I love you mother and I know you'll always be with me"she whispered. Then something caught her eye. Behind the house near her favorite tree was a mound. And a stone. She gave a quick look to Matilda then ran through the trees to the grave. It was her own. "Nadya Marsh
Our lovely lady taken too soon" was what it read. She sniffled and nuzzled it. Something shiny caught her eye. A locket with the words "Mom & Daughter" on it. She clicked it open and her picture with her mom was in it. Looking up to make sure no one was watching she slipped the necklace on then ran back to the forest. "Alright Matilda..I..I can go home now"she said taking one last look, a deep breath then looked away, never to look back again.

Matilda followed the doe as

Matilda followed the doe as they made their way into the sunlight. Houses across the road lined up perfectly & the weather beautiful. She was glad Nadya got to see her family in such lovely weather, even though it was to be a bittersweet moment. She stopped & waited as the young doe gathered herself before again continuing whilst following the road. She stopped as Nadya did & her gaze followed to what she assumed was Nadya’s house. Watching as the humans walked out her eyes periodically looked to the brown doe, making sure she was ok & wasn’t thinking of doing something Nadya & herself would regret. As the doe spoke Matilda jerked her arm softly, ready to try & grab ahold of Nadya if she tried to run to them. All of a sudden the doe bolted. Matilda instantly threw her arm up, though had no hope as she was already to her destination & the witch decided to stay put. Pleased that Nadya came back eventually & had noticed the necklace around her neck though simply choose not to ask. She knew it was already a hard time for the doe. She gave Nadya one nod of her head before leading the doe back into the thick of the forest & into the tree they came from. She kept quiet, she knew Nadya would be in no mood for small talk & as they neared her cottage a small smile crept on her face. She knew the sooner Nadya could get back to Leonardo & their family the happier she may be. The witch walked a little ahead & a large gold figure came into view. Her smile grew as there was only one person that large body could be ”Leonardo” she said loudly with a slight giggle ”I hope you didn’t get into my cr…”. Her smile vanished as she closed in on the male whose body was limp on the ground. She heard movement in the surrounding forest though was too concerned in what her eyes lay upon. His eyes open & a pool of blood underneath him. She immediately turned to Nadya ”Do not come any closer” she ordered before running to the males head & closing his eyes. ”Nadya, you don’t need to see this… please… go back to the forest” she yelled as her voice was noticeably breaking at some points. She furiously wiped the tears that were falling around her cheeks & trying to push the bull awake to no avail.

Nadya's head was down the

Nadya's head was down the entire walk as she focused on her necklace. Her heart hurt horribly but she knew that this locket would get her through the terrifying birth of the child. That and her mate of course. When they got back she saw the big lump laying on the ground and laughed when Matilda started to tease him. But the smile faded as she was yelled at. The doe back stepped a little, confused as to what was going on. "What..why no..what's wrong Matilda?"she begged and moved forward anyway. She stopped when she saw the red and her eyes filled with tears. Her legs nearly buckled beneath her. "No..no NO NO Leonardo"she screamed and fell to her knees."No you can't leave me....no..not after this you just can't "she said sobbing into her legs. She didn't know if he was dead or not but the girl felt her world around her shatter into a thousand pieces. He was her world. How would she live without him. She had the family yes, but how could they handle her being so terribly sad. Her cherry red eyes looked back up at him and she forced herself to move closer. The tiny brown doe lay next to his large fluffy neck and gently licked the blood away from his eyes. "You'll be okay darling"she said her voice calm though her eyes told otherwise.

There was no use wiping her

There was no use wiping her tears away when they were replaced just as quickly though she felt useless & it was something she had never felt before. She was weak… in this moment she felt she could do nothing. She rose to her knees, though they were extremely wobbly, as she quickly fell to the ground at the bull’s chest. Leaning over, she placed her ear against his gold fur & she started laughing, though it was accompanied with many tears ”He…h…e….he” she tried getting the words out ”His heart is beating… Nadya…. His heart is beating.” She got up, a sudden wave of power surged through her. If his heart was still beating, there was a chance. Wiping her tears away she ran into the cottage, got her paste & worked on the fresh wounds he had gotten earlier. They were bad, but with some TLC they would heal nicely. ”W…e… need to ke…ep him warm”she managed out through hiccups as she went back into her cottage & brought out a couple of blankets & threw them over his large body. It didn’t cover much, but it was all she had at the time. Grabbing a cloth, the witch began dabbing at the wound site. It was a rather large wound & she knew he had been shot, nothing else would have caused something like this. She looked around for a bullet though found nothing & the wound seemed to be extremely big for it to have be lodged. Perhaps it had severely grazed his skull… she didn’t know… & frankly right now she didn’t care. She needed to get him better. Grabbing water, the witch came around with a clean cloth & began cleaning the wound properly. It was deep, she had not seen anything of this nature before & she dared not look directly at it. She knew her paste was not strong enough for something like this & she knew it was best for her to keep the area clean & free of infection. Her eyes moved to Nadya, with tears still in her own the witch spoke, it was empty words though, there was no feeling & she really believed Leonardo would not come out of this ”We will wait a couple of days.” Walking over & sitting against the bulls stomach, she pulled her knees to her chest & rested her head on them ”We will wait” she whispered as the darkness of the night slowly crept on them. Matilda lay down, curling into a ball & falling asleep next to his stomach. All she could do was hope that by morning, his heart would still be beating.
