Action Dictionary Celtis and I are a little old fashioned in how we express things in-game, so just to be sure, here's a basic rundown of what means what! Bellow~ "Hellooooo!" Calling to someone far away. A warning if he does it right up in your face. Listen~ "Huh??" Startled. Listening to someone in the distance. Alert and waiting to see what you do. Full bow~ "The pleasure is all mine..." Very respectful hello, usually reserved for greeting does. When followed by backing up means goodbye. Half bow~ "Charmed to meet you." Typical hello. Not to be taken as disrespect at all. Tilted head~ "Uhm...?" Not sure what you want. Thinks you're amusing or curious. Tilted head + sad~ "What did I do wrong? I didn't mean to..." Unsure why he's being yelled at/threatened. Didn't intend to offend anyone. Sad~ "S-sorry..." Scolded. Feels put out or driven off. Sad. Apologetic. Surprised gasp~ "Woah! That was impressive!" Sometimes used for playing with fawns when they pretend to threaten him or yell in his face. Horns lowered~ "Stay back, please...you might get hurt..." Feels pushed to defend himself or someone else. Used as a warning to adults. Cower~ "Ahh...!" Frightened. Sees something scary. Feels threatened. Cower + sad~ "I'm sorry I'm sorry!" Scared you're mad at him. Hurt. Depressed. Paw at the ground~ "Can you help me...?" Wants something. A mask or pelt, etc. Wants you to follow him. Prance in place~ "Now you listen to me!" Scolding. Usually used on fawns. Stay here, I'll be back. Rear~ "Get back!" An attack. A very firm threat or warning. Occasionally used as a dance move. Nod~ "Of course." Yes. He understands, or thinks he does. Nod + sad~ "Can't I help?" Wants to help, but feels you don't want him to. Distress. Shakes head~ "No thank you." He doesn't want it. No. When followed by backing up it means he doesn't want to get involved. Sniff~ "And you are...?" Getting to know you. Checking to see if he knows you. A friendly gesture. Curiosity. Nuzzle~ "There there..." Friendliness. Comfort. Used often on fawns. Rarely used on adults he isn't familiar with. Sad + backing up~ "Sorry I bothered you..." Feels bad for having intruded, or being unwanted. Usually will turn tail and run shortly after. Sits beside~ "Mmm...the forest is lovely today." Usually used only with fawns and deer he knows. A friendly gesture. An offer of companionship for a time. A protective gesture as well.
I know it ain't much and it ain't fancy, but that's the way I, and Celtis like it. Easy to read, easy to update.
Updated...Fixed a little coding error, and changed up what's going on in Celtis' life. Added a little glowy of his picto! Once I figure out who he met last night I'll be adding a new acquaintance to his list!
Haha yep! Celtis was actually very fond of him. I was considering offering for him to adopt him, but it seems little Paper-face has a mommy now! Maybe they can play again some time.
*giggle* That'd be funny! "Uh...hi. I'm this thing's...dad?" "Oh uh...I'm its mom...hmm..." That would be cute though. I'm really interested in learning more about Paper. *scritches behind its ear*
<3 Anyways, Celtis would be happy to play as adoptive father to Paper. I'm heading off for the night now, but perhaps tomorrow/the next day we can work up to it in RP of some sort? I'd like that, and Celtis would like to have some form of family in the forest.

*chuckles* Yes, CSS...I've never been good at it. This bio's actually mainly pure BBCode, with just the music up top really being in HTML. It's an ungodly mishmash of coding, but I love it. <3 And it suits my needs.
The day was beautiful in the forest when Celtis awoke. He performed his morning ritual: giving thanks to the twin gods until they washed his fur white and clean, then trotting upstream to the crying idol to bathe in its tears until his pelt was its usual red color. That completed he frolicked a bit, looking about for anyone he knew. Unable to find them, he lay down to rest near the gods' hill. After a long nap he awoke to find Calliste and Paperface curled up beside him! How wonderful. The three were also joined by Gladiator, and romped about on the the hill for a while before the two young ones began to spat. Horns were lowered and hooves were stomped-- From what he could gather, Paper was just a little jealous that he had to share his parents' company, perhaps? But it seemed like Gladiator maybe had just wanted to play. Celtis intervened, and the pair finally got settled before he fell asleep once more. Taking care of little ones was fun, but a lot more tiring than he'd imagined...Still, it was worth it.
The creature's head hung low, visibly glum. It was with a very strained, and strange sounds that it was able to say, Miss... you..papa..
It had found it's voice... perhaps only this one time.
OOC: Hey everyone. Anyone who knows Celtis should be glad to hear he'll be back soon. I may or may not have...well to put it bluntly, tripped down some stairs while carrying my laptop. >_> It's all repaired now though (except for a broken hinge, so I can't actually close it...) so Look for me bounding about the forest in all my deerish glory! Must find old friends. Especially little Paperface. <3
