Woah almost a year (correction: year and ten days) since last update!! The commentbox has been fixed, thanks to the two kind souls that helped out, and some more art was chucked around. Wanted to state: Fjara hasn't been logged on a lot lately. As much as he is a character, he's mainly an emotion; a combination of things that is sometimes hard for me to bring back. Still, thank you all for your ongoing company when I do log him on, despite the shortness of our encounters and my general lack of in game reactivity. Fjara and I are still around, just in different forms. I promise, and I haven't forgotten any of you <3
I sit a lot on my IC-ers nowadays (or a certain OOC clown called Armitox...), and don't really move around; but if you happen to pass by, and want company, I invite you to stay, IC or OOC. I'm also starting to work on a website of my own, for all of my art, characters and musings...whatever content, and a character hub. Will post the hub here in forums too, someday, if I finally figure out how to code a proper div.

Nicknames: Fjarko (dubbed this by Atlas; Croatian pun), ''My beloved koi'' (also Atlas), ''My darling wife'' (yes, you guessed it, also by Atlas please someone give him better nicknames-) , Calico Deer <3 (by several people)
Birthday: 12th of December
Species: Nykur
Gender: Male (I know it's surprising /lighthearted)
He has a very loose concept of gender. Doesn't quite get the gist of it; cue why you might see him without antlers sometimes. He forgets to appear with them! Or that they might be a social clue.
Demeanor: Nervous, hesitant, oftentimes not verbal. Incredibly sleepy, warm. Friendly. He's a bit silly.
Size: #13 (Slightly smaller than native TEF deer)
Scent: Probably bog water and algae. Nothing too dreamy from the fish man, sorry!

Voice: I don't think he knows either. But he sounds like the song does, in my head.
× His pictogram looks like a sad clown face to me, which is a large motivator for his design.
× The orange face he's drawn with is a mask! Which well, largely morphed to his face. There are no eyeholes in the mask, or a way to breathe.

× BroadSandwich - The first deer ever met, as a fawn. A beloved, playfully silent friend, very much misses seeing them around. Always delighted to see. They are associated with comfort.
× Fabi - A gentle soul; forever remembered and appreciated. He very much misses seeing them around and the shared naps and playtimes. They are associated with huge antlers.
× Barkley - A sleepy soul; quiet and beloved. Seeks him out whenever he is present and immensely appreciates his calming presence. Nap buddy <3 He is associated with... napping. Kindred spirit.
× Culver - A quiet, incredibly sweet little fawn. Adores casting magic upon him, whenever he is able to. Really curious about, and always excited to see. Now a very cool, tiny deer! They are associated with gentleness and resting on logs.
× Spin Fawn (Mewe) - New friend! A very hyperactive, adorable little fawn. Adores spinning and jumping his soul out with. Now... spin deer? Also an impressive spinner, also really enjoys the arts of phasing into other deer like a specter. They are associated with... pure energy.
× Idun - New friend! Interesting looking, calm and slow-moving. Very comforting aura. Surprisingly, also very comfortable to sit or lay on. Wishes to see more a lot more <3 She is associated with sofa's and lazing around.
× P - New friend! Very cool, mysterious and rather chill to hang out with. Wants to get to know better <3 Associates him with Moth (little fawn) and birds.
× Bloinky - if Fjara were capable of speech he'd say that words cannot describe this one.

Disclaimer
If you're going to view the art tab, heads up for colorful eyestrain, and for possible distressing imagery. Most of my art is uploaded to Toyhouse, but here I'll upload my TEF related things.
Fjara is a very special character to me - and one in an interesting predicament at that - he is forever stuck between being OOC and IC especially when active in The Forest. His character sometimes dvelves into sensitive thematics and serves as a creative outlet, a way of exploration and working through certain personal matters. Originally was created when I was trying to get back into art after an excessively long pause due to loss of passion; the intention was to have a character to TRY to roleplay with but as Fjara develops further as a being - I literally do not know how to approach roleplay with him. Possibly only with individuals I'm OOCly acquainted with, as it is hard to treat him as something ''other'', something that is fully disconnected from myself. As much as he is a character, he's even more of an emotion; combination of things that is sometimes hard to bring back.
Despite that, he is my main connection to The Endless Forest - and probably will continue to be for a very long time. You may approach him IC or OOC, regardless every interaction is welcome and very looked forward to <3
Stories of Origin
A shapeless imitator motivated by love towards others. Nykur; Sphinx; Shapeshifter; but above everything, currently just a sleepy koi colored stag.
Born from a troubled star, Fjara is many things at once, while also being nothing at all. A shapeless being, guided solely by his love towards others. He began as a water spirit, a creature of barely any consciousness that drifted through existence. Though he possesses the ability to shapeshift, it is not a conscious act but a response to deep emotion and specific circumstances. Fjara’s forms are never perfect imitations. Each carries remnants of the one before, a ghost of what was. Though he can change, he will never fully belong, forever caught between shapes, never quite fitting in.
His first transformation was into a fish. The first creature he saw upon gaining awareness, and the first to stir emotion within him. Overwhelmed by love for its small, fragile form, he became a gray-and-orange koi, dull-scaled and unshimmering. Decades spent as a fish left their mark; his mannerisms remain odd, his understanding of the world incomplete. He rarely blinks unless he remembers to, and often lies face down in ponds, seemingly drowning, but simply resting or blowing bubbles. He adores food but misunderstands what he should eat, chewing on foxtails despite the inevitable stomachaches. With his first form he learns of joy.
Fjara's second shift came with a human child: a boy who eagerly fed the pond fish where Fjara lived, hoping to bond with them. In time, this boy became Fjara’s first friend and the one who gifted him his most treasured possession: the crying mask he now wears to conceal the intricate fish-like patterns of his skin. With his second form he learns what it means to be grateful.
His third transformation was inspired by a mule deer, a creature of effortless grace he glimpsed while learning to coexist with humans. Longing for such beauty, he instead became something caught between worlds; neither fully humanoid nor entirely deer. Despite his efforts, his strange nature set him apart, making true acceptance amongst both species elusive. In this form, he learned the weight of yearning.
His final transformation took the shape of an adult human, mirroring his first friend who had since grown, moments before his passing. With this form, he learned sorrow and the timeless weight of loss.
Ageless, he carries the memories of those he has met, fragments of those he has been. He remains gentle, still largely incapable of speech despite fully understanding. Yet he knows how to recognize a friend and offer them his quiet, unwavering company.

Optical Mirage Poem No. 1 (The Subconscious Dream of Fjara)
In the silent Forest, Widmung was preparing for a good night's rest, until when he saw Fjara's pictogram appearing out in the middle of the pond. He went to see if he was alright.
To his surprise, Widmung noticed that Fjara got turned into a sleeping frog, floating next to the pond's shoreline. He then waded into the water to get Fjara's attention by attempting to wake him up.
With no luck, Widmung then sat at the edge, contemplating on what to do. Moments later, his friend, Atlas, came in to see if Fjara was alright.
Both Atlas and Widmung then sat down in the water as they waited for Fjara to awake from his pond slumber. The water acted as a warm soft blanket as it made them fall fast asleep into deep hibernation.
Hours later, Widmung started dreaming through his subconscious mind. He felt that he was walking into another version of The Endless Forest through a parallel dimension.
What Widmung saw were the warm memories of Fjara's past. He saw visions through his life back when Widmung first met Fjara as a young fawn. Those memories remained special to him.
It was a dream of Widmung's past accomplishments through the years in the Forest befriending new players. Knowing that he hasn't been around Fjara for some time,
Widmung felt that he can give him more comfort and support along with his family and friends.
"Have a good night and sweet dreams!" said Widmung as they snuggled to bed underwater. ^^

I really enjoyed reading his story, and how he feels about each of his friends, and then looking at all of the gorgeous art he has received over the years. I feel very tender toward him. Motherly, almost.
Dear Hydde, I understand
I understand having a special place in heart for characters like these, I think the same whenever I reread bios of mutuals on here. Or even new ones, and then recognize specific characterizations that are clearly super dear to people... it feels as if people share pieces of their hearts openly, and it makes me endlessly happy. ;w;
Oftentimes whenever I look at, or draw him, or even reread anything I've written about him, I'm transported back to the headspace from the time when he was just made. The emotion tied to him is something I can't quite ever avoid, and so I've turned to trying to display it, and redirect it the best I can, before it becomes overwhelming. I'm incredibly grateful to every friend I've made over him, the way he's grown (and alongside him, my freedom of self expression...?), and the amount of love he's steadily received with. This comment too; it means a lot to me.
In short, I'm extremely happy that Fjara's character has been able to move you.
