What on *earth* is going on with that group of deer in-Forest?

What's up with all the default and real-deer pelted deer going running and around in a group, sniffing stuff, rubbing trees and not talking to anyone? o.o
That would be The Herd, they've got a blog about it in the community events.
I think the idea behind it is they play as true to natural deer behavior as possible.
I say let them play how they want, since they are letting anyone they want join and are non-aggressive towards those not in The Herd.
Though I have to agree, it seems rather dull to me as well.
I had to write a 1500 word essay for my Scientific Method module this year for my Animal Biology bachelor on red deer rutting behaviour. So playing a realistic(ish) deer in TEF is actually really rewarding for me.
Basically it's a herd centered around being a total animal behaviour geek =P You should try it before you knock it, it's kinda relaxing, being part of a hive mind for a while.
Yeah, I was looking at the page, and thinking I might do that. I've already got a deer I use as a relaxing 'real' deer, only it's an Irish Elk, so I think he'd be a bit out of place.
There isn't an antler uniform at the moment, I think the leader might have the fan antlers, so the Zombie or Crazy ones would be fine. As long as the pelt matches and you've got the real deer face (Which I will gladly help you get if you'd like) you'll be fine.
Yes yes, I realize that. I was just commenting. It'd be odd to play him without the Irish Elk antlers though, so I'd probably use Liëkadeer just so people know who I am. ...if I ever get round to doing it. ^^;
