you really are mature for your age, Takeshi. you're doing a wonderful job of watching over your mother. Gods know she needs the comfort of friends and family right now..
"I heard about Hoshiko. Take, I strongly regret how this has happened to your family, and mourn such as well. If it helps any, would you be up for some berries?" he suggests. He keeps his extra sets of eyes closed dispite wearing his "night" pelt, keeping them so they appear nonexistant. He had the faint idea that perhaps he could summon Hoshiko's spirit so Kaoori and her family could speak to him, but for now it is best to keep his abilities under wraps.
The young stag nodded. "I've left mother with some friends. I could use some food.. and maybe I can get mother to eat some berries. Hn, show me the way." He looked toward the much larger stag.
(XD OK. Btw sorry I had to leave forest. Had to drive to autozone to get a new rear parking light thing. I'm going to assume they're where they had been resting.)
Arch nods, then stands up. "Yeah, she looks like she really needs some." he agrees. At that, he heads down the hill they had been resting on and toward the nearby "Blue Bowl", where blueberries would be more than bountiful. Its location probably comes as the easiest to find in this forest, being marked by a perfect circle of massive trees, and ever enticing with the smell of fruit. He looks back to make sure the younger stag is following, before actually arriving.
Takeshi followed not far behind, his ears swiveling right and left for any sounds his mother may make while he's away. When they reached the bowl, he ate hungrily, then picked a few, carrying them in his antlers for his mother.
I hope she eats these. She.. wouldn't even touch her favorite food.
At the blue bowl, Arch takes his own fill of blueberries. Being a rather large bull, and something of an omnivore, it naturally took a larger amount to fill him. He looks back at Takeshi as he takes a few berries up in his antlers, and mentions Kaoori hasn't even touched her favorite food. He flashes a concerned frown, visible threw the toothless opening of his skull mask. "That's distressing." he agrees simply. "Maybe we should grab some pinecones for her as well. She might be able to eat those..." he suggests.
Takeshi nodded, trotting around to find a tree that was abundant with some. His ears still attuned to his mothers whereabouts, he rubbed against the nearest tree he could find.
Nnn, I wonder if she'd like those. It's worth a try. Anything, even a nibble, at this point.. The stag's voice trailed off as he gathered the cones in his mouth.
Archelius finds another nearby tree that seems to have rather sizeable pinecones hanging among its branches. He looks back at Takeshi and nods once. "Even if she doesn't eat right away, we'll at least have something there for her when she wants to." he figures, then looks back at the tree. He takes a few steps back, then charges the tree, slamming his forehooves into the base of the tree to give it a good enough shaking to drop a few cones at once. He returns his hooves to the floor and begins to collect the acorns carefully in his mouth.
Takeshi nodded slightly, heading his mother's way. He didn't want to think the other option- her not eating at all. he always thought of his mother as brave, and strong, and to see her like this pained him- he did not know what to do.
Archelius follows after Takeshi, letting him lead the way to his mother. He partially hopes she wouldn't really notice his 'temporary' change of pelt that would probably clue her off to him being Darkweaver's son, but such would only be a minor thing to worry about. Right now it just mattered that she would get better after all this trauma.
They finally reached the grave where his mother sat near, silently. Kaoori hadn't been paying much attention to their arrival. She did indeed look very close to skin and bones. Takeshi's ears flattened as he came close, dropping the pine cones near.
Mother.. I've brought you some food. Look at it.. maybe you'd want to eat it?
Archelius follows suit, dropping the pine cones he had collected beside the ones Takeshi placed down. He then takes a few steps back, letting Takeshi speak.
Kaoori notices the two coming, lifting her head up in a greeting. She looks at the food offered her, and sniffs it half-heartedly, nibbling it a bit before resting her head down.
Archelius smiles a bit. At least Kaoori at a little of the food they brought her, even if it isn't too much. Not far away, he notices Laghodessa in her raven form, sitting on a headstone and looking over Kaoori and her fawn's grave. He silently wonders at if the child had a soul yet, or if it had been miscarried too soon. He doesn't recall ever encountering one soul which had been lost so soon.
