Snuffed Out - A Rock Hound Story

This is for events that need to be written about the
Rock Hounds but not necessarily in their own story. I'll post little updates on events that occur, such as crystal purifications and maybe Iugulare's thoughts on what is going on.
Anyone who would like to write their own Rock Hound Encounter stories can do those here instead of making individual blogs, but that's strictly up to you. Even if anyone wants to just draw a comic or a picture (or a series of pictures) of their deer facing a rock hound or ripping the crystal out, I'll even count that as a 'victory'.
Don't forget the eye/crystal colors and abilities:
Omega Varieties
(Attack more wildly and untrained compared to Alphas)
Red
Enhanced strength
(Red Rock Hounds can often overpower even the toughest of deer)
Blue
Stronger defenses/more endurance
(Blue Rock Hounds can take much damage without wearing down)
Green
Regeneration
(Green Rock Hounds can heal their bones quickly)
Yellow
Enhanced speed and reflexes
(Yellow Rock Hounds are extremely swift and agile)
Alpha varieties
(Much deadlier than the Omegas as they have been trained to hunt)
Purple
Invisibility
(Purple Rock Hounds can cloak to their surroundings, appearing invisible to their prey)
Orange
More Potent Infection + Infection 'spitting'
(Orange Rock Hounds can quickly infect and paralyze their prey, leaving them vulnerable. They can fire their infection from long distances and are extremely accurate)

Keep in mind - the crystals have to be purified! Make sure your character takes captured crystals to Quad or the Twin Gods for purification!

Just need to point something out guys...
The 'Alpha' rock hounds, the orange and purple varieties, are supposed to be very difficult to fight. While it isn't required, I think your deer should either get help fighting them or have a very long, drawn out fight against them. They're supposed to be the top hunters of the rock hounds and not fall so easily compared to the 'Omega' varieties. A lone deer should have a difficult fight against one alone, unless they're an experienced fighter, but even so they should have a tough fight ahead of them.
From now on, I want to see more realistic fights against the 'Alpha' rock hounds.

Iugulare is an alien infection that manifests into the shape of a stoat or a weasel (though she can look more 'otter'ish at times too). She is one of several alien infections (known as Goxi) who have arrived on Earth to infect and create an army for universal domination. The infection itself can appear either white or black, though there are reports of color in there as well (yellow, light blue, pink) but they're rare. The shade of the infection has to do with where the Goxi lived on their home planet of Venterm.
Iugulare herself was created in 2008, but the idea of the infection is something I came up with when I was a child. I would see animals with white or black bellies as 'infected', and imagined the infection making them crazy and causing them to want to infect others. It revolves around countershading in animals.
Anyway, Iugulare is Quad's arch enemy, and the reason why the Twin Gods gave him powers to fight her. There's a long story about a prophecy that she would bring darkness to the universe and whatnot if their chosen champion failed to defeat her, and for the most part Quad's stepped up to the challenge when she tries to take over again with her infectious trickery. I've written a lot about the battle of light and dark between the two of them, and have even introduced other Goxi as well such as Noctuis (who appears as a snowy owl) and Tonivox (the Queen Goxi who appears as a polar bear). They have their own powers and desires, and often Quad has to help Iugulare fight the two of them off. I always loved the idea of teaming up with your enemy to face an even deadlier threat.
To top everything off, Iugulare has a love/hate relationship with Quad, and even has said she would abandon her plans for galactic conquest if he would be her mate. Quad, on the other hand, thinks she's crazy and has no desire to be with her, so that sets her off and next thing you know, there are infected wolf skeletons everywhere. XD

The crystal will go inert for a while, long enough to take it to the Gods. However, after a short time, if it hasn't been purified, it will attempt to reunite with the Rock Hound that it belongs to. The bones will start to reform and the crystal will zip back to the skull, and the process of dislodging it would have to be done all over again.
In addition, holding onto it for too long may cause a trace amount of infection to be transferred to the holder. This can be cleansed with direct sunlight, or going to Quad or the Twin Gods, but being infected for too long would possibly result in zombification and mind control by Iugulare.

Twice the risk, twice the glory! Think you're deer is up for facing a rockhound with not one, but two crystals in it's skull?
They can be identified by the glow as usual, however one eye socket would emit one color and the other emits the other. The skills are equally potent and gives the Rock Hound lethal skills. These guys'll be tough, but a strong fighter should be able to figure out how to handle their hybrid powers and defeating one results in twice the amount of crystals captured. This'll be no easy task but should provide some fun encounters.
Here's the list of hybrids. It's up to you to choose which combination to face. Normal rock hounds with single powers are of course still available, and hybrids do not include alpha varieties.
