[ "He's got a fedora." ]

"I hate birds, but I'm gonna have to put up with them I guess."

Snake gave a grunt, expression hidden behind the smooth wood of his mask. He didn't look at his comrade, eyes set straight ahead at the crumbling stone of the ruins, at what might have been a church once upon a time. It would have been beautiful, he was sure, but even in its slow decay it still held a strange allure despite the graveyards that so unsettled him and the female that stood at his side.

"Never thought I'd see you 'put up' with somethin' y'didn't like."

The scruffy white doe laughed shortly at that, tossing her head. "Yeah, well. He's gotten his ass kicked for me a ton'a times, might as well stick around for a bit." Sax sniffed, watching for movement at the ruins, and between the trees around them.

He smiled, twisted and wry. "Until you get bored, right? Throw him away after." A disapproving gaze swivelled to fix upon her, knowing her so well that it might have been dangerous. She was not the sort of creature that one should have known a lot about, for it would surely damage whatever relationship they had with her.

Saxophone said nothing to that. "You'd know him if you saw him. If you do wanna y'know, meet him." She changed the subject slightly, head tilting back briefly to look up at what passed for a sky in this place. An unnatural blue void. No clouds. No real...sun. "He's got a fedora."

"Tried to steal it yet?"

"Only once. He was sleepin' and half-dead at the time."

"...Unfair, really."

"Yeah, well. 'Fair' don't go through my head when I want somethin'."

"So I've noticed."

They stayed there for a while, fireflies twitching softly around them.
