"Good." Ross smiled. He was silent for a moment, thinking of something.. but he didn't quite remember what it was. It seemed almost on the tip of his tongue. A moment later he remembered- he hadn't given her his present yet! "Um.. I found some things earlier, that I thought you might like..."
Neela was quite happy sitting next to her long time childhood friend. She knew something was different about him lately but really didn’t quite understand what it was. He seemed to struggle a moment and so she waited patiently. Her long white brows perked enthusiastically though when he said he’d found something for her, “Oh, what is it?” she tried to restrain herself from wiggling. Wiggling might not be very polite or grown up.
"I'll go get it!" He stood and trotted off to Red hill, where he kept the interesting things he had found. Soon he returned with a bundle of things wrapped in a large leaf. Ross placed the bundle in front of his friend. Though she didn't know it yet, it contained preserved butterflies, colorful pheasant feathers, and dried flowers which smelled wonderful. "For you." Oh, how he hoped she would like them.
Neela couldn’t stop an excited tail wiggle as she waited for Ross to retrieve his package from Red Hill, he returned soon enough and she peered with interest at the leaf package. When it was clear she was meant to open it, she did so, being cautious about it, what if something delicate was inside? Carefully she pulled out the treasures, lovely hued butterfly in brilliant blues, sweet smelling dried flowers, and gorgeous feathers, she gasped with appreciation at it all, “This is all for me? the child looked around secretively, being a part of a large family meant she had to share often and she did not want to share. A grin spread across her face, “Thank you Ross,” she beamed happily, “Oh but I don’t have anything for you,” she thought of her jewels, earrings, and also her baby tooth necklace, gosh a boy wouldn’t like that stuff would he? She blushed embarrassed. It might be a while for her to find something good.
"Yeah." The buck beamed, grinning practically from ear to ear. " 'S alright," He would be happy with anything, really, and had no jewelry to speak of. Ross shuffled his feet in the grass. He would've blushed had he actually been alive. "I bet Verve could make something out of them if you asked."
Neela examined one of the feathers appreciatively, still thinking what to get Ross. Maybe she’d ask her dad or brothers if they had any ideas. They were boys too. “I bet she could!” she replied when he mentioned Verve making something out of the treasures, “My sister is the best at making things,” she said pride in her voice.
He nodded. Ross had seen several of Verve's finished crafts. "She sure is. I remember she gave my sister a necklace. It was very kind of her." He remembered how Pica had been cheered up by that little necklace, and smiled. She still wore it to this day.
If it weren't for Neela, Helios' likely never would have been able to find the medicine doe to save his mother. The other fawn had also been incredibly brave while her mother worked on his own, and for that he could only think to repay her for her kindness.
For the fae child, the young buck had acquireda silver and amber pendant on a silver chain. He thought it was pretty like she was, and he hoped that it would make her as happy as she did when she helped his mother.
In the dirt before the gift he left her name (picto), and underneath it his own.

She's so cute. I'll definitely keep an eye out for her in the forest. Not sure what Elliot would think of her, but she's still little and he's a big baby XD
