Had a very tense reunion with Darcy after being absent for a couple of weeks.
He was extremely joyous to see Kumiko again, as she was with him, but Darcy's reaction to his arrival left him upset and confused.
Attempted to approach Darcy only to be met with taunts and antler-shaking.
Dejectedly, with some coaxing, he sat a little off to Darcy's side with Kumiko, willing to at least keep him company.
Darcy soon left their side, and Obake forced himself to be cheerful by playing a little with Kumiko, Herla and a couple of fawns.
Herla turned him into a mini, which further helped lighten the mood. The oni ran around in good humor, failing to be threatening.
Was saddened all over again when Kumiko left. He then followed Darcy's scent to the Gods Hill, much to his dismay.
Cautiously the oni approached, strangely not deterred when he saw that Darcy was praying. He remained vigilant, however.
Darcy then moved towards him while bearing the devout spell, causing Obake to flee as he believed that the monarch would use it.
Darcy pursued him to the playground, which only angered and upset the oni even further. They had a stand-off before D left again.
Stubbornly the oni followed him, and seeing that D was at his daughter's grave site he sat a distance away out of respect.
Was surprised when Darcy soon got up and beckoned him over. He did so, and the two sat together in silence.
Darcy was later persistently "attacked" by Herla, who kept casting animal spells on him and darting around.
Although amused, the oni got between them and attempted to discourage Herla, as he was afraid that a fight may break out.
Later on Herla returned again, and the oni beckoned for her to sit by him in peace. She did so, and the oni could finally relax.

Obake is an oni who is not only carnivorous, but also consumes souls on occasion.
This occurs when he is starving, doesn't wish to hunt or as an act of venegful spite.
He consumes just enough, rather than an entire soul, to satisfy himself.
The process itself is relatively harmless, and painless.
The side-effects are not severe, but include mild dizziness, nausea and fatigue.
Side-effects vary in strength depending on how much of one's soul he has consumed.
Obake prefers the souls of fawns and young deer, as they are more potent.
He is drawn to pregnant does as the unborn fawns are prime targets for soul consumption.
The process may be indentified by him circling and then nuzzling a fawn continuously.
He may be chased off, and will usually not put up a fight.

Just want to commend you on your RPing in-forest! I always worry about hurting people's feelings when my deer is being rude to someone I haven't spoken to before, but it was so obvious you're perfectly IC and your character is great and interesting and I'm having a lot of fun. Can't say the same for Ravus though, lmao.
Wow, thank you so much; I am very flattered and happy to hear that! ♥ Oh don't worry, I picked up on Ravus's body language very quickly, and after checking her bio I now understand completely. She is protective of the geisha, and Obake understands and respects that. Plus, he certainly doesn't want to make enemies out of the geisha's friends, as he is rather smitten with her. =P

I am glad that she's allowing Obake so close; he can certainly be trustworthy despite his appearance and weird mood-swings, haha. Although he's a little bummed out right now, he's content that he's at least allowed near the geisha to some extent. =)

Nope, he was tripping out yesterday when he ate way too many mushrooms. Now he's suffering for it, and has a fever that's making him unsteady and hallucinate. When he was ducking his head, he was trying to not collapse. He's extremely thirsty, but he'd rather stay in seclusion while he recovers than sit near the Idol, especially since Krystal and Big Bunny are taking the opportunity to torment him...which, of course, he totally deserves. =P
Unfortunately, he just collapsed out in the open on the way back to the birch woods. He is such a lightweight, haha. =P

Oh dear...all the more reason for him to be embarrassed! He did eat quite a few of them, though, and he has eaten mushrooms only one other time only to end up like he is tonight. Coincidence? Hm, probably not...just a lightweight! =P
Oh my, I fear that Obake would never recover from a mushroom-eating contest! He needs to condition himself first (a la the wise teachings of Darcy, shroom-master), and then someday he may be a worthy adversary! =P

Oh my gosh...right when I was about to go to bed, a bunch of tall mushrooms and snow began to appear! Obake's fungi-fueled hallucinations are coming true and haunting him, haha!
It was a beautiful spectacle, but it freaked Obake out. He's definitely laying off the shrooms for a while! =P
Thing is, this was right after Umay stalked Obaké Obaké and Umay parted ways. When he was asleep, she was eating mushrooms from a nearby tree. Although mushrooms don't actually affect her that way, I still find it.. odd, lol. 8D
Ohh, so that was Umay! Oddly enough, she appeared as a naked deer to me, even though it had her picto. I just assumed that it was a random, stalking nameless...whoops! I apologize if Obake happened to ignore her earlier while he was awake; a few nameless were running around him while he was wandering around his own personal nightmare. =P
That is a funny coincidence, though; I'm glad he's not the only one! The shrooms in this forest are pretty special, haha!
As is to be expected from shrooms, I suppose! =P It's pretty funny that Umay was stalking him; he was so out of it that he didn't even notice. But the giant fungi...that sure got his attention pretty quick, haha!
The oni snorted and looked away, embarrassed, as he lay in the tall grass. "I no want to eat now. The thought of it disgusts. But, euh...thank you for concern," he replied softly, reluctantly dragging his gaze back to the small shika. Although he wouldn't admit it, he was relieved to see her. His fever was pretty much gone, but he still felt weak, and although he was very hungry he had no appetite.
