Her footprints seemed so much smaller, but then again, the world was much larger now. Familiar landscapes and markings no longer passed her- she was far from having anything that might have once been recognizable. It's been so long.. Or has it? Her mind was a constant flurry of questions and counter-questions that she had no answer for. So, for now, she kept her thoughts to herself.

She didn't have anyone to share her worries with anyway. As of late, she'd simply been following a large group of deer, keeping her distance and never venturing too close. They wouldn't talk to her, and only offered the protection that numbers could bring, but no comfort. There was something wrong with her, though they never told her so. She simply knew that she was different from these creatures, unsettling and unnerving to them, though they tolerated her proximity.

Something was wrong, very wrong. She didn't know where she was. The trees were different, the birds didn't call out to their passing, even the cold wind was not right. There was no sense of security within the woods she traveled, no sense of the ever-present gaze of the Gods. Had the Creators given up on her? Was she unworthy or a no longer wanted occupant of the Forest? This was not the same land as before, and there wasn't an obvious route back her home.

It hadn't felt like a home before, though.. Was that the problem- the reason? She hadn't loved and cherished what the Gods had given her? Had her desire to disappear been granted? She wasn't so sure that that was what she wanted now. She missed the familiar trees and smells and knowing gaze of her fellow deer. She hadn't thought that the reoccurring landscape would feel so secure, when it had once been maddening and inescapable. The constant feeling of someone knowing that she was there had been nerve-wracking. But now, she knew what it felt like to be watched a different way; to be the source of constant worry by those she meant no harm, or the possible meal from an unseen danger that seemed to be in every shadow.

She didn't feel safe anymore. She felt alone, tired, and confused. What could she do to gain the Gods' favor back? She didn't know, and there was no one to ask. Staring at the footprints in front of her, she kept moving. The snow was still falling and she was falling further behind.

P: Wounds have scarred. Healthy, but sore || M: Sound || E: Determined and bored

Felt like doing nothing but being lazy today. Lounged at her tree for a long while until a family took up romping in the flowers close by. Left for a spot farther away to give them space to play.
Eventually got bored and decided to go for a run, though was distracted by an idea when passing by the willows at the pond. Got an itchin' to try her..hoof at climbing trees, as she'd seen many a deer perched in the branches of tall trees. Failed miserably at scaling the largest of the willows and opted for the smallest tree instead. Start small and all that. After many tries, finally got herself relatively high up and gazed out over the pond, fascinated by the new perspective.
As hours passed, she started to see why most deer don't sit in trees...because it hurt after a while. Decided it was time to get down...and gracefully fell on her hind end. Ow.
Toughed it at on a quick job to work out the sore spots on her legs. Made her way to the Playground, feeling pretty mighty for having accomplished a small feat. Noticed a bit of blue beneath her when she scaled the large boulders. Took a peek from above at the sleeping doe (Isiel) before continuing on her way, not wanting to disturb her.

(Was then followed by a very oblivious/trolling fawn who did not understand that many No-s and running away for 5-10 minutes means leave me alone -____- Had to jump in the Pond for them to leave me alone and they promptly changed to a new fawn. Grr.)

"...Hmm."
P: Stiffness in leg, fine otherwise || M: Confused || E: A little hurt
Woke to a noisy forest. Everyone seemed to be doing something. And everyone seemed to be doing those somethings relatively close. On edge and feeling lonely, slowly trekked over to the Ruins, though there was a crowd here as well. Craving a bit of companionship, thought it a good idea to maybe sit at the logs where she knew was a favorite spot of a particular deer. Deeply regretted it when Reed appeared from the Ruins and chased her away. Hid in the grasses of the Birch trying to figure out what had just happened.

"...Hmm."
P: Mostly recovered || M: || E:
Becoming increasingly mobile again, has started to wander as per usual, though felt that she'd pray at the Gods' statue today to maybe help her leg heal more, since a permanent limp and being hindered handicapped was a scary thought. Tried very hard to make herself rest, but kept having to move around as a few fawns and unfamiliar deer approached off and on.
Was dozing in bushes a small ways from the activity when she noticed Darcy's scent, though it seemed...very off. Looked around for him with no success, but saw the small blue doe (Talla) again. No wonder his scent was off, it was her.
Curiosity building over this doe. Had a huge urge to follow her when she bolted from the statues. Flight drive kicking in as well due to the increasing number of deer, Isa followed the doe, but couldn't keep up and had to rest when her leg really started to bother her again. Hunkered down between to two trees to rest again.

P: Sore and aching, healing || M: Low, lethargic || E: Fairly stable
Stubbornly refused to rest for long periods of time, felt as if she was a sitting duck. Limped to the pond to rest on the sandy shore, taking multiple breaks and naps between short distances. Finally gave up and headed back home, but didn't stay long when she scent Darcy somewhat close, assumed he was at those logs where he can frequently be found. Needing comfort and security, she made her way towards him, but stopped when a doe (Talla) about her size appeared to be with him. Didn't want to be a bother and was getting exhausted again, headed to a nearby patch of flowers and settled down.

March . 31 . 2013
"No... No, no, no, no..."
P: Everything hurts || M: Exhausted || E: Frantic
It may have been an instinctual thing, or maybe her own usual unease, but something told her that something in the Forest was very wrong. Hesitantly making her way to the statues, Isa quickly prayed for a blessing from the Gods, highly nervous about what was going on in her home. Moving down the small slope, she couldn't help but notice a few deer rush past her, all in the same direction, all eerily quiet in their haste. Her heart dipping, she blindly followed their hazy shapes towards the Ruins.
A sense of deja vu slipped into her mind and her heart sunk to her small hooves as she slowed at what she saw. Black beasts. Grotesque, demonic shadows. Gods help us, she thought, eyes scanning between flying hooves for what she once protected. The small flower, the dangling picto.. but it the glowing name no longer held on to the roots of the yellow plants, instead hovering above the head of a huge deer that was legend among the inhabitants of the Forest.
A fire started in her heart as she puzzled together what was going on, what she had to help achieve. Steeling herself, she rushed to the wounded stag- to the living blockade formed around him- and quickly joined the ranks, knowing full-well what had happened to her when she last fought against these demons.
---
Battered and bruised from the fight, the small doe staggered away from the group, mostly disbanded already with pairs of deer scattered about comforting and helping each other before the next wave of demons came. Thinking only of the black terrors, Isaita slowly headed toward the Pond. Each step was painful, and the doe tried to tally up her injuries: her head was pounding, her right hip was throbbing so badly that putting weight on it made her cringe in pain, she was sure that her legs, ribs, and torso in general was covered in bruises and scrapes, and she could now taste the blood that ran from the bridge of her nose where she had just barely avoided the flying talons aimed at her eyes.
A sudden wave of vertigo hit and her legs buckled under her. Collapsing to the ground, she nearly screamed in pain as she landed on her right side. Her vision a blinding filed of white with black dots dancing about, she corrected her position onto her left side. Laying her head down, she vaguely was aware that the flowers didn't smell right.. smelled too much of copper.. "Guess I lost more blood than I thought."

March . 26/27 . 2013
"..."
P: Tiny bit tired || M: Numb || E: Despondent/Content
Starting to spend her days mostly in an apathetic daze, only to snap out of it when approached, which then triggers an immediate defensive posture and heightened anxiety levels causing her to flee the area regardless of whom caused it. Spends a great deal of time unconsciously avoiding everyone leading her to roam the birch forest for vast portions of the day if left alone. Has taken to occasionally seeking out small spaces such as between the roots of the Old Oak or inside the crumbling walls of the Ruins for a sense of security when her nerves get frayed or when her mind has taken a turn for darker thoughts.

Started her day off much like the any other by walking about the Forest in a less-than-cheerful mood with depressing thoughts bouncing around in her head. Continuously moved herself away from any passersby and stayed in the relative quiet of the bright birch forest.
Was not paying total attention to her surroundings, as it had been some time since she'd last spotted anybody, but the sound of approaching footfalls snapped her out of her thoughts just enough to have her pace quicken and head away from the deer coming her way.
A familiar call rang out behind her as she continued to flee. Darcy. The knowledge that it was only her friend did not slow her at all, instead, urging her away as to not inflict her poor mood on one of the few companions that continuously lifted her spirits. Diverting from the short-lived sanctuary the birch forest had been, Isa sped towards the Ruins in hopes of hiding herself away in the small hold in the stone walls, but with little success as Darcy already knew about her hiding spot.
Now cornered by her own foolishness, she turned to her friend..pleading him to let her alone for the time being. Seeming none to happy about her plea, the butterfly stag took his leave. Once alone, though, the small doe stupidly wished for his return, as she felt a painful squeeze in her chest. Telling herself that she'd be alright, Isa huddled her small self into the farthest corner and waited for her heart to slow from the frantic run.
As she settled, she slowly became aware that there were other individuals hanging about the stone building. Uneasy about this, the little doe started on another walk back to the haven of the birch forest. As she walked on in no particular direction, she felt the urge to constantly check her surroundings. On edge and not sure why, the sudden need to move quicker came upon her. Planning on only easing into a slow jog to satisfy the need for a faster pace, she found herself instead sprinting through the tall grasses.
Not caring where she was going, she simply ran. And ran. And ran. For a moment, there was no worrying about what she was doing, or who might see her, or for how long she would run, the only thought in her mind was the present. The present that was that she was running as fast as she could in a place with no end for who knew how long... And trees- pesky trees that kept clipping a hind hoof or a hip as she scraped by them at the last second so as to not jostle her bee-line for the horizon.
Eventually, her legs did slow and the brown blur that was Isaita came to an unsteady halt. Breathing in short huffs, the doe stumbled over to a shaded bit of ground and somewhat collapsed into the cool dirt. A small smile grew as she numbly thought that she finally wasn't thinking anything. With a smidgen of renewed energy, Isa pushed herself to her hooves and started to trudge up to the pond for a drink and a short swim, since feeling (and probably smelling) like she'd just ran as much as she had did not seem like a pleasant idea.
Arriving at the edge of the water and having her fill of the cool liquid, she slowly eased her tired body into the shallows of the pond, watching as her color seemingly bled away from her. Knowing that her coat must be a wreck, the little doe set to ridding the worst of the knots out before moving to the willow by the bridge to straighten herself out further.
Finally satisfied with her neatened coat, the doe again moved herself as a vibrantly colored deer passed by. Still tuckered out from her run, Isa eased on over to the Sun-warmed stones of the bridge and shortly started to doze in the sunlight.

"I missed you."
P: 100% || M: 90% || E: 95%
Wandered the First Forest in an apathetic daze, unsure of what to do with herself or where she should go, Isa slowly meandered about, stopping frequently to stare off into the distance. Paused at the Gods' statues in hopes of some reassurance of her place in the Forest, but to no avail. Followed the river back towards her tree- where she felt more out of place- and then over to the Ruins.
Her spirits lifted some when she took notice that Darcy was at the logs. Immediately thought to go to him, as she was feeling in desperate need of company, but decided against it when she saw that he was already accompanied by a deer unknown to her. Her mood quickly turning negative, Isa left to go back to her home.
Awoke from a very short nap that she hadn't planned on taking to a familiar and unexpected presence- not that she minded at all. Feeling a tiny bit embarrassed, she tucked herself into Darcy's side and settled down to resume her nap until she was pulled out of her sleepy haze by the unknown scent of a deer..A deer that was very close. Trying to make sense of who this scent and this deer was, she took cover behind Darcy. It was his companion from before- that red stag (Matthew?Reed?).
Always uneasy in the presence of others, Isa refused to go towards this deer, despite Darcy's coaxing. Felt bad that her stubbornness drove the red stag away and that this upset Darcy. Wanting to make things better, she departed in hopes that Darcy would go to spend time with his friend. Was displeased when the two of them followed, because Darcy still seemed unhappy about her unwillingness to meet the red. Eventually gave the stag a curious and hesitant sniff after the two deer followed her for a second time and Darcy used his tried-and-true method of getting her to meet others.
Isa trusted the red stag a little more when he and Darcy warned off another stranger (didn't catch the picto P: ) that seemed intent on investigating. Followed Darcy back to his log pile where they found and were met with a couple of fawns (x). ~~
Moved herself back into her hidey-hole at the Ruins after dazedly noticing how many deer were about and not seeing Darcy close by.

Mini Spell . Magpie Mask . Frost Pelt . Purple Flowers

Isa is a pretty plain little doe. She doesn't have any antlers, no fancy feathers, no sparkly jewelry. She isn't tall, nor super thin or lanky. No beautiful human face or hair, no other-worldly or magical features, or even extravagant patterns in her fur.
She is a good example of her breed, the Sitka Black-tailed deer. She is short in stature and most of her features are rounded, instead of angular. Her pelt is a soft, diluted brown with a small, white throat patch, white underside and rump and the tell-tale black dorsal stripe. Her stripe starts at her dark nose, ends at her black and white tail, and is broken/interrupted, making it almost look like large, oblong rough patches along her top-line. The facial portion of her dorsal stripe is broken up enough to leave her with a stripe and star, like that of a horse. Her ears are also dark as a result of her breed. The only thing physically different about this doe that keeps her apart from others like her is her grey-blue eyes instead of the traditional brown of her kind.

Relations

Ammy Was once a good friend, but have drifted apart over time. Never sure as whether of not to approach.
Anzel † A very good friend. Misses.
Axis Her champion and crush after defending her from a nosy stag. Found a friend in him and enjoyed his company.
Damien Unsure of where she stands with him now.
Darcy Was one of her first friends in the Forest and quickly trusted him as he seemed to understand her awkwardness and difficulty being around other deer. Enjoys spending time with him, but is sometimes confused by moods, as she doesn't see him often enough to know what is going on in his life. Worries about him. Might even have a small crush on him, as she has a strong tendency to follow him and watch to see what he's up to from a distance. Admittedly, she stalks him.
Drium † An old and good friend. One of the few she really played with. Misses.
Ephra Literally attached to as a newcomer to the Forest, still looks at as a guardian, safe haven, and good company.
Kody Neighbor. Intimidated by his close proximity, dark appearance, and size-not to mention the company her keeps.
Kona † Adores. Loves. Misses.
Persephassa † Good friend from way back when. Misses.
Quad Trusted.
Red Korra One of the first deer she bonded to after entering into the Forest. Looks up to and seeks out for comfort. Trusts.
Saosin Very intimidated by his appearance. Avoids interaction.
Shay Scared of this doe after being chased around for what seemed to be pleasure.
Timber † Mate. Loved him very much and longs for him to return to the Forest, though she does not hold out much hope for it anymore after so many years. Misses.
Umay Terrified of. Circumstances played a big part in her being afraid of this doe, but still sees no reason to trust her, especially after being driven off multiple times from her home.
Zacharias This stag was her protection during the fight against demons to save Dag's pictogram. Has claimed shelter underneath and close to him so she wouldn't get stepped on while she caught her breath in the mass of deer that grouped around the dandelion. Feels she has to be thankful he was there and that she can trust him, at least a little bit.

Isaita is a character and does not represent her player. She is in-character the vast majority of the time, though may be OOC when asked to help with getting a deer's set or during abios. I take full responsibility for any and all actions of this character.

It's not really a requirement

It's not really a requirement though, more like a preference. If you like your deer just to be a regular deer in the Forest, then don't even worry about that.

I think it was a year or so before I made an official bio and storyline for Quad, although it really just kind of played out in-game.

Here is your finished

Here is your finished "Spirits in the Wind" request

Also I wanted to help you out with knowing more about your animals and what they represent:

Bear is a symbol of bravery, peace, and motherhood. Bears carry messages of patience, confidence, authority, nurturing, and protection. They are often associated with defending their young no matter what the cost.

Coyote is a symbol of instinct, enthusiasm, intelligence, resourcefulness, and playfulness. Coyote is often considered to be a trickster, and will test you often, but his teachings are there to help make you better. He is a very powerful guide.

Elephant is a symbol of reliability, dignity, power, pride, happiness, longevity, and good luck. Elephant teaches us to be dependable and loyal, and are often associated with sensitivity and social connection.

Wolf is a symbol of cunning, intelligence, communication, friendliness, loyalty, and generosity. Wolf is a great teacher, and can help you understand the world around you as well as how to connect with others. Wolf will never leave your side.

Hawk is a symbol of Awareness, Perspective, Insight, Truth, Visionary Power, Guardianship, Strength, Initiative, Decisiveness, Creativity, Messenger, Caution, Maneuvering, and Leadership. Hawks are there to tell us that it's time to begin something.

Mountain Lion is a symbol of leadership, encouragement, and power. Mountain Lion is a difficult totem to work with, but can help guide you to success in the future. Mountain Lion reminds you to be confident in yourself and to never back down.

Quad!! <33 Holy crow! Thank you thank you thank you! Gah, still love the elephant <3 But the bear is a very close second, so is the hawk! <3

And thank you for looking all of the animals up ;; You didn't have to, but I'm so glad you did. I could certainly use a few lessons from the Hawk right now. Heh... Funny- good luck from the Elephant on the biggest test of the year and the two hardest guides to work with had shown up at the same time. Go figure. Thank you so so much, Quad <3

Hey it's no problem at all, I

Hey it's no problem at all, I actually enjoy looking up their meanings so I know them better. I had a friend whose totem was the bear, so I knew a bit about them already. And since you and I share the Wolf and Coyote as guides, I was happy to explain what I knew about them. Coyote actually came to me in a vision, I saw him running through the desert, and I soon took the dream to mean that he wanted me to plan ahead.

We all have our difficult animals to work with, too. Wolf and Tiger for me, since they were animals I absolutely hated, but over time I learned about them, and now I respect them both. They taught me many valuable lessons about accepting people as they are and not being so judgmental. In fact, their teachings really paralleled many of the Zen teachings I've been studying. It's interesting how that works, huh?

If there's any other animals you'd like to know more about, just ask. I'm happy to do some research for you.
