I wish I could make them fit...

Like strings on an instrument...

Fit together perfectly...

And make a beautiful symphony...

Kita's head lifted from where she had rested it upon the ground at the base of the statue of the twin gods. She tilted her head slightly up toward them, her deep sea-green orbs searching, looking for some truth; something that could help her.

With a resigned sigh she pushed herself upright, turning to gaze out over the forest, taking in the sight of the pond and those who frolicked within the shallow depths. She envied them, those who were heedless of the danger of the deep.

And so she lifted her head, ears strained against the silver poll they were bound to. No one who she knew was within the forest...good.

She had no real desire to be with another currently and so she started walking, walking straight forever until she had become submersed within the the tall grasses of the birch forest.

Surveying the forest around her showed no sign of the other inhabitants, merely the small songbirds who flit between the protection of the canopy and the lure of the promise of food that lay hidden among the forest floor.

A whisp of breath slid past her nostrils as she allowed herself to collapse to the forest floor, muzzle rested upon the bed of grass that lay crushed beneath her form. And so she slipped into thought of all that had happened, especially within herself. Ever since that time, the eve the angels sang, and the night snow fell from above.

The happiness. The worry. The sadness. The jelousy. The pain.

She had hidden herself away, coming out only twice during the week long break from the forest for food and drink to sustain herself. She could not, did not, face Fran, the one who held her heart. Disgrace had driven her to her choice.

However...during this time a new light had formed. When she had emerged the first time, he came to her. The white one. The smiling one. He who let her drown her sorrows for a short time upon his beautiful pelt.

He had wanted nothing, and she offered nothing. She had no desire to play, and no energy to. When she lay beneath her willow, merely staring into infinity over the pond in search of answers, his form lay next to her. Warmed her. Protected her.

She moved. He followed.

Even the second time when she came for a breif time into the sun, he bound to her side. Gave her the softest of nuzzles. Then took his place at her side, not to play, maybe to comfort or to speak, or merely to offer his company so she did not have to suffer alone.

Then after the week, heart and mind repaired, she emerged back into the forest, only to find her loved one had not returned.

She had sighed, this however was not entirely unusual for Fran, there were many others who also needed attention. Kita had turned and continued with her day, playing among the fawns and other adults of the forest.

He had come then too. The white stag with the grand crown of silver and the smiling face.

A nuzzle of greeting, met by her own, fondness blooming within her white chest. A smile slid naturally onto her muzzle, she couldn't seem to force it away around him. She reared up as she spun and bound away. As always, he had followed.

Now she did not know what to do. Her heart held onto Fran tightly, had built strong ties and barriers to protect her heart from the invasion of doubt. And yet, he had shattered those barriers. Not out-right, he had slipped between the cracks, destroying the defenses from the inside out.

She knew she had a great decision before her, one she dreaded having to make. Much time had passed between her disaappearance from the forest and her return.
Fran she saw with great joy, never a week passing without seeing her at least once.

But she had also seen him. It was rare for a day to pass without the white stag's appearance in her life as he pretended to fall into the pond, or sprung from her side in a flurry of hooves after a passing squirrel.

He had unlocked a part of her that she did not even know had existed. Now she did not know what to do.

A soft hoof-fall from near her caused her to lift her head, twisting quickly to look, she had not heard someone approach. A smile lit her face, blue-green eyes shining as she saw her white stag.

She gave a chuckle and pushed herself to her feet, turning and closing the short distance to him, nuzzling her head fondly into his white fur as she took a soft breath of his scent,

"Furfur, I missed you"

YAY RESPONSE PEICE!

lol It is spelled poll -just went and checked- which is the junction between the head and neck between the ears of an animal (mainly horses but I would assume it could be called that for deer also)

@VCG: O.o That is awesome! xD I love this song backward or forward

@Deathwing: Thank you very much xD I am glad you think so, I wanted it to be short and sweet. I think it came out well for trying to sort through emotions that she was feeling back at like, christmas xD
