:.{ Moving On And Still Together | Featuring Nina and Leo}.:

**This story features two of my old characters.**

"You always said that the Gods were your main priority."
Leo lifted his head to look at the doe lying beside him. His reddish-brown eyes looked calmly into her emerald green ones. Hers were cold, but soft. His were wise, but still young.
"And they were, until recently." A smile tugged at the corners of his lips, coaxing Nina into smiling, too. "Stop worrying. I'm here. We're here. The Gods are watching over us." The stag was aware that Nina was afraid of being alone again, afraid of facing the dark that she'd twice had to endure. "We're safe."
"I know," She murmered in return, head resting on the ground. It wasn't the once-familiar dirt that had covered the Endless Forest's ground. No, this was snow.
Their world was ice and snow and blizzards for now. Endless white, stretching on and on until they felt they had seen enough, and could leave. Both of them knew that the Gods would let no harm come to their messengers.
This, however, didn't mean they could relax all of the time. While one slept, the other would be awake, for there were creatures here bigger and faster and stronger than the two deer put together.
Nina slept soundly, curled into Leo's side, gold fur against white.

"NINA!" His head tossed as he stomped the ground, trying to wake the doe up. "Nina, wake up! WAKE UP!" He headbutted her neck, somewhat relieved as she sprang to her feet in shock.
"What!? What i--" Nina's bewildered voice cut off abruptly at the sight of the creatures before them. "...Oh, Gods," She breathed, eyes widening in fear. Leonard looked the same.
"They're called polar bears," Leo half-whispered, staring at the three beasts. "Nina, please run."
"But you--"
"RUN!"
The doe took off and fled, weaving her way between the bears expertly, running with the speed and stamina that she had always prided herself upon. Her heart was pounding for Leo, afraid that she'd never see him again, that those white bears would devour him...
But Leo was not about to let that happen. He stood there, head held high in the face of possible death, looking at the beasts that snarled infront of him. As they lunged forwards, he darted away - and turned around, blasting a white light in their faces. They howled and raged in confusion, stumbling into eachother, blinded by the wooden masks Leo had cast on their faces. He ran off, following the fading scent of Nina, running, running, running...

That night, they curled up together, as close as possible for warmth. The stag's head rested on Nina's furred neck, and her eyes were closed. For once, he slept, too.
It was time to move on.

I felt like writing this xD I dunno. I decided ages ago that Nina had found someone but could never decide who it was despite always considering Leo. I decided against him at first because he didn't want a mate due to the Gods coming before everything, but they seemed right together 8< <33

Ah, Dannii, your writing get

Ah, Dannii, your writing get better and better every time. This was an excellent story, I especially like the lack of violence and substituting a spell for momentary confusion -- creative! This is cute and you should write more often. <3
