Ah, that's sweet! Glad you had such lovely experiences - and don't worry, LOL I'm sure they weren't too annoyed!

I remember the first time I played - as a nameless. A named deer lead me around and showed me all of the spells and played with me for a while. I actually found the player later on and we were friends for a little while.

Over 7 years ago but I'm still fond of that and the kindness that person showed me, often think of it when I see a nameless around. I like trying to show them the same kindness when I'm able.

I don't remember my fawnhood a whole lot 8( and I don't have many screenshots of it cos I didn't realise you could press P to take them LOL

But I do remember the first month or so was spent with Hal/Halogen cos she actually introduced me to the game waaaaaay back and we'd just goof around a lot.



I also thought that the users with Skull masks were staff or special players cos barely anyone had them.

I remember playing with a deer called Kanter. Almost nine years ago, now.

I still remember my very first day in the forest. I was a Nameless and I was playing with the emotes to try and get a feel for them. I mooed once and accidentally did so a second time when doing some other emotes. It was about that time a named deer came up to me and bowed. I scrambled to find the bow emote and returned the gesture.
I remember The Named Deer pawing the ground and walking away then repeating it a second time and thinking "Oh, they want me to follow". So I did and they walked me around the forest, gave me flowers and masks. I remember being surprised by the spells and how beautiful the forest seemed to me and how magical it all felt. I remember being a little confused and annoyed I couldn't get a spell as a Nameless to give it back to my friendly mentor.

When my mentor had to log I immediately went to sign up with my first name. I always wanted to thank my mentor but back than I wasn't able to remember pictograms and had yet to know I could take screenshots. Instead, when I am actively up, I try to at least give a Nameless deer a sniff if nothing else. Just so they don't feel ignored. If my first TEF day wasn't so memorable I may never have signed up myself.

I still remember who was my first rememberable friend as a newbie fawn too, before I even found the community site. I remember trying to ask them if they remembered me even though we couldn't talk as deer. lol They're still semi-active but I don't think we interact as much anymore.

I don't have that same feeling of wonder with the Forest anymore. Just because the Forest has become like a home away from home and very "normal" for me now. But I still remember feeling it which makes TEF pretty special to me.

My first memory is when I started up the Forest before registering to see if my computer could handle it. I remember waking up in the middle of some tree area (can't remember where as I didn't know how to zoom in yet ='D ), taking a few steps while being anxious that someone might come near me when I had no clue what I was doing. I distinctly remember thinking/saying, "Ok I think it works" in a slight panic after hearing a deer moo and quickly closing the game.

Registered right after.

The next time I opened the game and logged in for the first time was a day or two later. I think I just wandered for a bit, feeling a little more confident since I had a name, til I came across a zombie deer at the Ruins. I had read the entire website so I'd know what I was doing (even printed myself a "cheat sheet" of what all the action buttons meant >>; ), so I thought it was the Giant Zombie Deer. Nevermind that it wasn't Halloween. Noob me didn't think of that. Anyway, we spent that whole time playing with masks and laughing at the voice changes.

Other than that, I remember a week of nightly hide-and-seek with Sluggs, seeing Michael in-Forest 3 times during another week (this was waaaaay before the days he would get swarmed), and hopping around with Halogen and Seed.

First moments consisted of:

Seeing Micheal and Auriea dancing by the Pond. I kept wondering why these two deer in particular were so huge compared to everyone else.

Walking up two deer (one was laying down, another was standing). Standing deer walked up to me, and I showed the scared emote. Deer nodded at me. Instant dejection. Meh.

Seeing a bunch of Idol pelted deer dancing in a conga line by the Pond.

Pretty wild first day.

After hearing about tef 7 years ago I downloaded one of the first versions (with the spirits and all -wish I had kept that!) and then realized I needed a more updated version to connect. I was really scared to, rofl. So I played as a nameless first, an d I don't remember the names at all of the deer, but one found me and showed me around and they played with me. After that, I decided to create a fawn. It was around Halloween too, which was so much fun.

I have two really clear memories from when I first joined tef xD

The first, is that I stumbled upon a sleeping deer wearing the real deer antlers and the forest God mask from princess mononoke and I flipped out cause I thought I had found an actual god in the forest and I was super stoked about it.

My second memory is my deer following Virgil and mooing at him along with other random emotes. I thought it was nice because he interacted with me and didn't ignore my deer but I realized later in the game what a pest I must have actually been to him. Vee you have always been my senpai since the beginning. <3
