This isn't an official topic for this (I'll post an official one if I decide to set this up) but I thought it would be neat to have a writing tournament/competition! I'd need some help with it, though, like I was thinking prizes could possibly be artwork anyone would be willing to do for whoever won and maybe 2nd, 3rd place...dunno
Anyway, the idea was that there would be brackets, and so two writers would write stories/poems that would face off against each other. And the community would vote on which one they liked. I'd probably do a story bracket and a poem bracket. The voting process would most likely be silent (e-mailing or IMing me your votes) so there wouldn't be any hard feelings toward anyone. And then it would continue until there were two or three writers left in each bracket.
It was a thought to promote more writing for this community, but I don't know if I plan to set it up or not. I don't want anyone's feelings hurt if they got eliminated, but then again it IS a competition *shrug*. I don't know if I would participate in it myself either, which I would love to but I'd be afraid that anyone would that was unfair, which isn't my plan at all. It is just supposed to be for fun and for the community to get some creative writing done.
Anyone interested, or do you think this is too risky/complicated?
