Chapter 5 - Danger Within Beauty

Quickie

The sky rumbled, like the growl of a predator. Light flashed, leaving photographs etched for a few seconds in the eyes of those who were awake. Sometimes it caused pain in the optic nerves, but the rain washed it away. The rain washed everyone clean.

Moss stood out in the middle of the storm, dripping wet. His face was raised to the sky and eyes closed against the visual onslaught. Water washed over the black and white fur, soaking through to the stag's skin. It was cold, though he was not. Because of this, the stag steamed, tendrils rising off of his body.

With a chuckle, the beast broke from his trance. His body again became insubstantial, as was the way of true residents of this place, and he was no longer soaking wet. Rain fell through his body and onto the ground below. The stag sent a silent prayer to the Gods, thanking them for giving the residents of their playground such a gift.

Just something short. It's raining where I am so I decided to doodle a writing.

~The Protector~

The Protector

Finally getting the candles to stay on her antlers, she turned her head... and saw two young fawns, bowing at her and, jumping around happily. Trinity smiled, and jumped with them. Her candles held hard onto her antlers, they wouldn't fall off now. The doe looked after opening her eyes, and she gasped. The fawns had left! Trinity looked around and spotted them near another deer, ears perked to listen to something. Being a doe, she ran after them and skid next to the young ones. The fawns mooed at the deer that stood, and it moved. Frightened it seemed, by the stranger's movements, the fawns romped off. Trinity followed, she wouldn't let them go now. Coming to the rippling lake, the doe huffed. "Hmh..." she chuckled, and walked towards them. The young ones played, letting her join in rears and laughs. The playing went on for a bit, and they chased each other around the glistening pond; before the sun began to silently drift down in the sky. Had it been that long? Trinity thought, but laid down. The two young fawns laid next to her, and their candles flickered, and burst on. Trinity's flickered, too. Before they opened into small tiny flames. The doe sighed, and nuzzled the youngsters. "Hm..." one said, and giggled. "M...Mo-," one said, then it felt into a night sleep. The other one, smiled, but its eyes told everything, everything Trinity had dreamed for. After the two young fawns laid their heads on her... Trinity looked to the sky, and said, "Thank you..." before she rested too.

First day

Today is wonderful day. My deer wants to run and walk in our endless forest. I read a lot of information about adjustments in our play. About nonunderstanding information...for example about css cods and clothes for deer...

The lonesome journey - Chapter 1

This little story is not of the endless forest, but I hope people won't mind me placing it here for others to see. It came about as I was pacing and thinking about several random things in a quiet room, remembering how I once thought of it and told it to someone very special to me.

This story is about a game called Journey http://thatgamecompany.com/games/journey/ web link for some more information about it if you don't know of it. A must play for lovers of more artistic game types with more meaning than one would expect at first glance, the true beauty of it caught me off guard. Now with the basic introduction to the story's origin out of the way on to the main part, the order of the stages might be out of whack from my last play but my memory is a bit hazy at times.

Anyway on with the story.

Drumming in My Head (A story of the Dag event.)

"I swallow the sound and it swallows me whole
Till there's nothing left inside my soul
As empty as that beating drum
But the sound has just begun."

"No one knows the true extent of waiting, the slow sickening slide of hours, the knowledge that what comes next will decide everything. The seconds tick away leaving a trail as gruesome and as crucial as blood flowing from severed veins. With every beat of the hands I can feel it build within me, as insistent as the beat of a war drum. Adrenaline builds, sounds quicken, darkness will fall. And this time we know. Something is out there. Among the dandelions phantom images fight out the past battle. They flicker as they fade in and out of existence. Slowly the battles of my past appear, blending so tightly to the hills that they cannot be torn apart. Red seeps deep into the soil branching up into every living thing crawling like veins. The fog swirls around, drawn to my skin cloaking me in shadow. The insistent buzz of flies climbs upward. I've waited years for a fight like this. I'm ready. "

"I can hear this beat it fills my head up
And gets louder and louder
It fills my head up and gets louder and louder"

The doe was not disappointed. The creatures came in waves, burned blacked husks made from brittle wood, razor filled maws. Weak as they looked they leveled to ground, bursting in to licking fire and smothering ash. Deer whirled around her in a dance of death. 40 or so against thousands, odds stacked higher than the skies. The beat of Lilith's heart filled her head. Back home she had carved a a hole for herself, her reputation did not lie. They had feared her with all that they had.
