Oh godness, I did it...
This was so much fun! I think what seriously inspired me to do it was that upcoming movie, Desert Flower, which is a film adaptation of the book by Waris Dirie. It's a german movie, but I hope they'll synchronize it into other languages too... Because the story is absolutely epic. It's a true story about a nomad girl from Somalia, who has the awful experience of female circumcision with 5 years. At the age of 14, her father wants her to marry a 50 year old man. Because of that, she flees from the desert to start a new life. After really hard times, she accomplishes it to travel to London, where after a few years she is discovered by a model agent and becomes a famous model who is now proceeding against female circumcision in Africa.
All this absolutely inspired me to draw this Flyra-picture. Yupp, I drew Flyra as an African, in a model pose and in the desert... (Wow, must be my first digital drawn background ever.) The dress she wears is inspired by a picture of Light the Sky's which she drew for me. (:
Anyhow yay. I seriously suck at human anatomy. Better not even take a closer look at the hands, or anything else actually.
