Eris was a human of a meek soul and a body which he never felt quite right in. Partly because of his own mortality and partly because of it's structure. Some bones were too long, some too short, muscles... atrophied.
He was born with an illness that weakened his body and ate at his musculature. Through his childhood he spent most of his time in the forests and plains by his house and enjoying his brother's company. He wasn't able to play as his schoolmates had and his weak stature made him an easy target to pick on, so he generally avoided much contact with his peers. When they sought him out he was often rescued by Saater, his brother. Through his earlier years he was able to get around without much trouble but as time passed he felt his moves grow more and more unsteady and his walks were taken with a cane and a moderate amount of patience.
His world was ruptured by war. After Saater was drafted his days grew long and bleak, unable to walk the forest paths he used to love he spent his time reading in the nearby fields or simply daydreaming of a better world. He kept Saater's poems by his heart, always in a small notebook he carried with him.
On a warm, early summer day Eris strayed a bit too far from home, overexerted himself and had to rest before heading back. The sun was setting as he was mentally beating himself up about his mistakes but his train of thought was derailed when he heard a distant whirr which set off all the alarm bells in his head, even if he hadn't yet realised what it was. He looked up and watched its source fly by, not processing what's happening until he heard a series of explosions too close for comfort. He fell to the ground and cowered, covering his ears and closing his eyes, trying to will his reality to be a dream. But it wasn't. The wind was blowing at his back and stoking the fires ravaging his home as he wept, unable to move from that spot for hours.
After a few days spent lost, hungry and miserable he was found by officials and assigned into care of his relatives living in a city nearby. Their home was a tall building in the centre of town with many steps he could not manage to walk on his own, so his connection to nature and the outside world was mostly severed. His aunt was kind, she understood how hopeless he felt, sickly as she was herself, but that illness ended up being what killed her in a mere year. A week after she died he received a letter telling him of Saater's fall in battle, which snuffed out the remaining light in his eyes. He was left alone with a neglectful and abusive stepfather. Over the years in his care Eris' condition worsened and by the end of his life he could not stand anymore.
Every day he thought of the freedom death could bring. Every night he dreamt of his family. When he woke up engulfed in flames his first thought was "Finally, they came for me." He couldn't move, he didn't want to, he just sat up and took in his last visions of that world, however cruel it had been to him.
---
As a fawn he awoke in a field of gold, body small and frail but much stronger than he ever felt in his human life. It took him a while to figure out how to walk but as soon as he could, he tried to run. Then fell. Over and over again until he found his balance. He didn't remember his old life but his subconscious clung to it, he felt as if he was a bird released from a cage he didn't know he was in, into a world unimaginable.
Once he grew more stable he started exploring the forest but his days were spent without much company. He observed other deer and oftentimes came in for a sniff if their antlers did not have flames in them, but all seemed uninterested in sharing their time with him. So, he played alone, rolled in tall grass, soaked in the pond, spent time laying in flowers just taking in their scent and listening to the song of the forest. But feeling so isolated crept under his skin. He discovered the old ruins quickly and made a nest of the cage standing in the middle. There he spent many lonely hours until someone showed up.
A tall black and white deer, graceful and gentle took an interest in him and they clicked instantly. He smelled of the lilac flowers on his antlers, moss and dust of the old crypt underneath the ruins and Eris would never forget him. His name was Saater and bit by bit he shared with him the joy that can be found in the forest.
Bit by bit his memories came back and the first were sparked by their connection. He remembered his brother, younger then but now in an equal state of infinity, child, man and a dead soul all in one body. He cried, then, once again, the joy of being reunited and the crashing waves of the pain from his previous life mixing into one confusing typhoon of emotions.
Although his body was a deer's he soon learned he was not bound by the logic of physics ingrained in his head from times since past. He Learned to glide, to shapeshift and fuse himself with parts of the forest. He was introduced to others, a few passing strangers before Widmung arrived and taught him how to use magic. Despite the imposing appearance he was nurturing and kind. After that, the candles that some deer brandished did not scare him anymore.
---
Now that he's grown he became a sizeable and fluffy stag with long white hair, a splotchy gray pelt and face markings similar to those of his brother. He is very physically affectionate and will often show it by smothering others in his fur, rubbing himself against them or body slamming, though only those he's sure it won't bother. He tries to be cautious of other's personal space but sometimes gets overexcited and breaks a boundary.
He found a family, many kind creatures took a liking to him and he spends most of his time now in their company. He often dwells on his mistakes and fears creating a rift between him and his friends, a fear perpetuated by their absence. When so afflicted he will curl up in his old spot in the ruins and try to sleep it away.

It was nice meeting you, Atlas and Gilles! I hope I remembered your names correctly since it's been a few days, but I thought they had a nice ring to them.
(27/02/25)
Widmung, I enjoyed our time as trees, you make a beautiful one! It seems like new life grows from your decaying flesh. I suppose the same can be said for ashes though.
(28/02/25)
Saater and Widmung, our time together was wonderful. Thank you for connecting with me and joining me whenever I stick myself in all the other objects.
(03/03/25)
Met another fawn today! I hope they enjoyed their stay with us.
Rindea! I'm so glad I finally got to meet you. Thank you for spending some time with us! And Saater, I'm not sure what I did to frighten you, I hope you forgive me.
Oh, a bird's eye view of two normal deer doing normal deer activities.
And a bit of bird love. <3

Saater was frightened by an amusing glitch! Eris, without getting up, floated on the pond on the water like a ship!
The screenshot of a tree sprouting through Widmung's dead flesh struck to the heart. I hope he wasn't in pain.

Beautiful screenshots! Thank
It was wonderful having you and Saater spend the time together. Also, It was great seeing new players around and having a perfect team effort to cast forest magic sets onto them.
Our lights burn strong in our pure hearted souls. We are grateful for having this wonderful time together.
Thank you so much for the playtime, and I hope to see you again soon! ^^

Hello Eris!! It was so lovely
I'm overwhelmed, thank you
Saater, I'm so glad I managed to convey my feelings well enough through that picture. You silenced most of the criticisms I held for it, though there's some faults I still can't unsee. It's funny that one of the bigger grudges was about the flowers that you like. And I'm glad it was nothing I did- I wish it was visible on my screen too. It really did seem amusing on a screenshot of you I've seen on here
Widmung, you brighten my day. I'll always be happy to spend time with you and (hopefully) many new players! I hope our magic is as exciting for them as it was for me when I was a fawn.
And Rindea, no pressure! Your presence brings me joy whether you're asleep or awake.

It was still a beautifully foggy day. I didn't know there would be so much weather here. I hope I get to see rain one day!
So peaceful.
Met someone and cast some magic. They turned out looking like my saturated double.
And two others alike me in some ways.
We had a very tranquil moment. It was lovely. <3

I've seen so many fawns lately!
We became deer in a liquid, solid and gaseous state of matter.
This was one of the best naps I've taken.
(07/03/25)
There were two fawns running around our pile! I wish I could've played more but my hands were full for most of this evening.
I found a clone of myself after disconnecting. I think we were all a little confused.
(09/03/25)
Saw someone close to me again today, I'm really happy they like it here.
I introduced them to a few others, but I didn't manage to take any screenshots. I did capture us dancing with Fjara though!

I did end up meeting the deer that escaped my lens last time. Can't wait to meet again, perhaps when I'm not recruiting, haha.

Saater, Rindea Ferne and I dressed up this evening. We tried to convert some others into our cult but it fell on deaf ears.

Hi Eris!! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to try to draw Eris and I hope it looks alright!! I really tried doing the blond hair for him, but I couldn't get it to look good, so it's more silvery in this one. ^^' I also didn't have any good ideas for the background, so I just did something because I wanted it to have some kind of a background in any case!
Here's the no background version! <3

Eris, I'm so glad that you like it!! <3 And I'm so happy to hear that I got the hair right after all! <3 And oh yeah that's so true, he really does look like the that, that's awesome! He was a lot of fun to draw, and I'm so glad that I managed to get the appearance right!
(03/17/25) Laid down with
Laid down with Fjara, Widmung and Atlas, (who is there I promise) for a rest in the pond.
(18/03/25)
Then, relocated to the creek next day. I was so touched then, I love it here. With you all.
But once alone, I returned to the pond. The water sends soothing ripples through me.
I met a couple of fawns a bit later. One very energetic, one calmer and both sweet.
We explored the forest and enjoyed the scenery. It's so cute to see two fawns run around me. I love them.
We met with Ace, a friend of mine, and they got introduced.
When Mewe (leftmost fawn on the above picture) left and Ace fell asleep, the other fawn and I ventured to de Drinkplaats to shift our forms. We relaxed there for a bit, in the water and up high.
Later, we returned to him and conquered the tallest peak of the playground.
(19/03/25)
The fawns were on again! And Rindea too! I became a tree for this cute group portrait.
Valarie joined afterwards too! We didn't get to play a lot but I was very happy to see her!
(20/03/25)
Awoke in the cemetary and was soon joined by the pair once again!
This spot was very nostalgic to me. We played on this wall just as I have with Saater when I was a fawn.
We took a stroll through the forest and a short rest.
And got to the bridge again. Mewe was being sociable as usual.
I cast some spells as we moved on, the fawns seemed to have fun testing out their magical horns.
I met Pestil! Sadly she is hardly visible here and I lack any better shots with her, it was only a short meting but I'm thankful for it. <3
We rested up after the dancing. The ruins make fur such a beautiful and peaceful ambiance.
A bit of cuddling before we moved on. They called me up there. It was adorable.
We met up with Rindea and Saater! I haven't seen Saater in a few days and this was just after Rin posted the Eris artwork so to meet them both at the same time that day brought me so much happiness.
Saater, I missed you. Rindea, I hope I conveyed my graditude well enough. I was so happy to get to say thank you in game as well. My words were far lacking, but I couldn't get anything written how I wanted. Your art brings me joy every day. I can't stop looking at it. I think I'm gonna compile all our deer on the pinboard in my room.
Ace seems to enjoy being the lurking tree spirit.
We went to sleep inside a thick Plane tree. I'm not sure if that truly is the species, but it reminds me of them. Beautiful and strong.

Marvelous screenshots, Eris!
I wish I was there interacting with these new players. I was feeling ill after camping in the deep woods. Someday these players will return, and we perhaps might see them again in the Forest.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful screenshots and I hope to interact some more with these new players!
