A Talented Community

I just had to come on here and say how gratified I am to be part of such a creative, talented community (and that goes for all producers of creative things, regardless of the medium). Quamar's and Pepokeen's recent art just blew me away.

Here is a blog post about this awesome communiy. It's one of the many reasons people should join this game.

In other news, I haven't been able to get in the Forest all week due to severe computer problems. I am using another computer for my Internet needs.

All of you guys are awesome! *drops weapon of mass-nuzzlation*

Hanging Flowers - Chapter 9

"Skokey...Skokey, wake up..."

Skokey weakly opened his eyes. It was almost blinding, what he saw. He let his eyes adjust to the bright light.

"Skokey... My poor boy..."

A sillhouetted figure of a stag stood before him. His appearance was glorified with a bright yellow light. Skokey could barely make out the ghostly object hanging above the figure's head.

"Why are you doing this to yourself?"

"I..I don't know... What else am I supposed to do?" He asked, still bewildered by the darkened figure.

"You're in so much pain..."

"You have no idea..." Skokey squinted, trying to seek out any detail of the figure. He completely opened his eyes, tears starting to spill over, "...It's you..."

"Skokey, you shouldn't do it. There's no reason for you to."

"How should you know? How can I keep going at this point? What could there possibly be for me?"

"Remember what I taught you. That's all you have to do."

The light started to fade away, the figure of the late stag diminishing as well. Skokey got up, pleading for the light to come back. But soon, it was night again, and Skokey realized he had just opened his eyes.

"It was a dream..." He got up. There was a full moon out, everything was glistening silver. The stars shone brightly, twinkling like diamonds. A breeze flew overhead, blowing some leaves off trees as the rest clattered together. Skokey started to sob, laying himself down again. A small pool of tears formed below his face; it too had a silvery glow to it. "...Dad..."

***

Skokey awoke again. His face was still wet. He looked about himself. Everything was the same.

Timber...

You know I'll be away from the forest for the rest of my summer, two months, I just wanted to know if you still wanted to have Isa as a mate, when more than likely you won't hear from her very often, let alone get to see her. And I just got news that my dad currently has no internet. I'm not sure if you'd prefer waiting for her all summer, or not. I'd like to know before I leave (tomorrow at 4AM oO) for vacation.

I was cut in half! D:

So yeah, I haven't really had a chance to come to the forest because of the weekend. I don't know... it seems that I can't get on because of... I don't know. But yay, I came for a little fun today! I'm stressed recently, what with the wedding coming up, so I had a great time just chilling in the forest, but while I was there something horrible happened!

It seems that the Deermuda has cut me in half!

Or I simply found another fawn dancing half way in a rock so I joined her/him/it. Ah, whoever you are, I hope you had fun too. If you see this, please tell me so.

The Floating Duo

I have some more I'll post up later (if I choose to add to them later on), but here's something wierd - two deer floating on a willow tree.

Well, it starts out as one and then the other somehow does it too.

I WANT TO LEARN HOW TO DO THIS!! IT FREAKS ME OUT WHEN IT HAPPENS!Exclaim

Serenity...

This glitch makes the forest quite calming...

Oh, and...if you watch me on dA, I'm gonna post a picture of a chipmunk soon...just caught one that the cats brought in yesterday, and let it free.

Lastly...This is the closest you can get to a winter wonderland in the forest, heh...click here for the full image...

Anzel feels ticked...

Anzel feels ignored.

She feels ticked that nobody cared about what she said.

...

Everyone ignored what I had said. I don't know why I even bothered saying anything last night...

I feel kind-of ignored. I'm going to be quiet for a while.

Chapter 1 - Dawn

:edited June 12th for some minor improvements: < o.o; >

Chapter One - Dawn

“Rise.”

The gentle voice whispered through the blinding white that assailed her first-seeing eyes.

“Rise, little one...” Again the sound came, so different from the thrum and heartbeat that had been the whole of the world. Everything before her was a blur and there was a biting feeling against her moment-fresh skin that made her shiver and ache.

A warm gentle something touched her head and the newly born fawn tried to blink the fog from her vision. She could see the shadowy shape of her mother, haloed in the dim predawn light of the forest behind her, a soft amber glow hovering just above her ears, singing with a voice almost inaudible what the fawn would come to know as her mother’s name. The song of who she was.

Love, realized the fawn, her song also spoke of love and that love warmed her heart.

“Come now... it is time to greet the world.” The gentle licks began again as the doe carefully washed the life back into her little one. It had been a close thing, this birth. The winter chill was still heavy in the air and the snow still swirled on the ground to cover the not yet awoken life that waited for the sun. She had tried for years to bring life into the world, and yet the two before this child had not even drawn breath before they were ended. The other does of her herd were not nearly ready to give birth yet and still a few months away from it, but the new fawn’s mother was of a different sort than those she called kin and her mate was as well. Now though, this little one had been born earlier than even she had expected. She had not yet reached the glen on the other side of the forest where the woods were sheltered and safe, and her mate would be waiting to help her. It was still many days away. Her child was breathing though, and that was enough.

| Sun's Rise |

Name: Sun's Rise (or just Rise)
(('owned' by Light the Sky.))
Pictogram: [~^~]
Age: Young Doe
Gender: Female
Appearance: Small and slender, with an golden wheat colored pelt and two small budding horns sprouting from her head. Her eyes are large and filled with an amber light that speaks of curiosity and intelligence.
Set: (will be soon, once we get it) mini-deer, doe horns, real deer mask
Family: None. Rise came into the forest alone, but though she mourns her family she is not lost.
Mate: None at present, but considering if the stag is right. Rise is young but careful, and will not choose lightly.

Personality: Rise is a bit shy, but once she gets to know you she is warm and friendly. She is very alert to her surroundings and wary of danger at all times due to her origins from outside the Forest, so she does startle easily if caught unaware. Though cautious, she is also brave and stubborn and will not back down from something she feels convicted about. She has butted heads with buffalo, and will not hesitate to challenge even great stags who push her past her tolerance, though she would much rather shelter next to them.

She is a bit wary of fauns, especially when they swarm around her, and can sometimes be confused by certain forest gestures.
