Too Many Glyphs?

LambFleece's picture
Just a "Who is this?" So, uh... Who is this? And does their picto have too many glyphs? Shouldn't a picto only have 4 individual glyphs? This one seems to have more.
And I've seen this deer before, so its not a one time thing...

Just curious, I'd like to know who this deer is! They are, I believe, still romping about in forest. Smiling Thanks!

Oh yeah, that's way too many.

Oh yeah, that's way too many. There's something wrong with mine to begin with because it has an extra dot but that's DEFINITELY buggy.

I can identify some of those as Gen I glyphs that cannot coexist. I can't even identify the glyph in the top left that looks like a line at the 45 degree angle. Gen I doesn't have any lines that occupy that space. Same with the vertical line to the left of the square against the left border.

Here are the ones I know though.

Glyphs I think I see but they're in a spot other than where they belong:
Shifted down about a third of the way
Shifted all the way left, still at the top.

It's a glitch that turns up

It's a glitch that turns up pretty frequently. Sticking out tongue Just a regular nameless with a hiccup for a picto, as far as I can tell.

And yes, you're right - this pictogram cannot be built with the glyphs which should be available, even if you use extras. Some of them are shifted.

It's certainly

It's certainly bizarre-looking. My brain treats it with the same confusion as if I tried to read a word that starts with "ck," it just doesn't compute.

AllisonRobin: Ahh, so it does

AllisonRobin: Ahh, so it does have many glyphs! Thank you for taking the time to even pick them apart. I see that odd line too! How weird. O.o Thanks for your input!

Aivilo: So it's just a glitch. Weird. I was playing in two windows (set stuff) and one window saw this picto, while the other saw a blank glow. How strange!

I've seen that a couple of

I've seen that a couple of times as well. xD
I think this glitched picto looks creepy o.o

It's weird how after a while

It's weird how after a while of getting used to seeing things behave a certain way, seeing them differently is "creepy" like Jennie put it. I get that too. It comes with that foreboding sense of "this should not be this way" that Lovecraft tried to grab with his less-pronounceable monster and place names.

But it happens to us with buggy line segments being shifted a few pixels. It says a lot about the quality of the game and the way that the mind reads things.
