Spirits in the Wind - Art Project (Finished)

quadraptor's picture
Well after the discussion I had with FaunGrae on the Positivity Blog about spirit animals, I wanted to draw a group picture of my animals.

Here they are without the background

--------------------------------------

About each animal and their importance to me:

Deer - My favorite animal. I rarely get to see them due to where I live on the coast, but the ones I've seen in zoos and parks have made my heart melt. Deer reminds me to keep my mind open and to appreciate all forms of beauty.

Goat - Another favorite animal, I've loved them for being so peaceful and optimistic. Getting to feed goats and pet their fur reminds me that I need to stay positive and smile every day. They also remind me to enjoy the little things in life.

Goose - My totem animal, an animal who represents loyalty and humility. Geese are compassionate and will never abandon a friend in need. I still have many lessons I need to learn from them.

Hummingbird - Visited me last year, and since then I have been obsessed with them. I put a feeder out for them and love watching them come and drink. Hummingbirds inspire me and I've learned important lessons of determination and encouragement from them.

Cardinal - A favorite songbird that often visits me in my back yard. I enjoy watching them feed, their feathers sporting my favorite color. They remind me that my burdens hold me down and that true freedom is within grasp.

Wolf - Was an animal I hated for a long time, but over time I grew to appreciate them. Wolf has especially taught me to be open-minded and respectful, and also to accept myself for who I am. Wolf has helped me incredibly with my self-esteem.

Coyote - Came to me in a vision, taught me to lighten up, also asked me to look to the future and think about what I want out of life.

Tiger - Another animal I hated for a long time, but has been teaching me to let go of my fear and burdens. Also has tapped into my assertiveness, but I still have a lot of work to do.

Thanks for the support, guys! I may add a little more dark shading to the stag's back later, now that I look at it I think it could use it.

Coyote has been added, and I shaded Deer a little more. I didn't realize how dark Coyote's eyes were, so I actually just edited it and touched them up a little bit so they were more visible, but it'll be shown in the next update.

Hmm does Deer look too big, or do you think it really matters? I'm really kind of guessing on the sizes based on how tall I've seen them to be.

Perhaps a little big, though

Perhaps a little big, though there are some deer that get very tall.

I think I'll resize him a little, thanks for the feedback.

Edit - Resized Deer and also added in Hummingbird. I actually drew Hummingbird too big at first to get all the details in, and then shrunk to look closer to the correct size.

Wolf has been added...I guess

Wolf has been added...I guess I need to flatten out his paws so it looks like he's standing correctly. Maybe thicken the lines around his body too, I had to resize him a few times.

Edit - Goose has been added as well, which leaves Tiger left.

I do need to ask, though, what kind of background should I have? I was thinking about maybe having a photo scene for them to be in rather than drawing anything, but I wasn't sure. Or if I should have a flat color in the background. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Thanks XD In case you

Thanks XD In case you haven't figured it out yet, I'm drawing your animals together now.

Deer and Red-Tailed Hawk have been drawn, I wasn't sure what kind of horse you like so I think I ended up picking a Clydesdale (my personal favorite Eye ), and a Tabby for the cat. I got a good background picked out too.

Give me a day or two and I'll have it finished for ya
