Is this so bad...?

Boop. Hello~
Just curious, and I know this might be weird but...

Is it so bad to have a normal TEF deer?

Now, I know a few players play OOCly, and this isn't exactly what I mean. I mean to say, is it so bad to have an IC deer that lacks striking physical features, magic abilities (aside from the usual spell casting), or some fabulous plot?

PLEASE don't think I'm saying anything is wrong with those deer, because they are beautiful creations of a creative mind. C:

I just wonder if thats what really makes a character? Or, what is required of characters i should say.

Like, do you think IC deer that do follow the game concepts (human face, exactly as appears in forest, etc.) are a little too... ehh?

Sorry guys, just something thats bugging me. This is the only forum I participate in, so, haha, I end up dumping this here.

So, what do you all think?

Actually on October the 1st

Actually on October the 1st I'm going to bring in a secret fawn character that is a tradition TEF character that will act how the game was meant to be played..all the while being IC.

I find nothing wrong with it. c:

Sounds neat, because thats exactly what I was talkin about! IC yet "normal" deer. Maybe I should try that. cx

Well, in my opinion a non-magical normal deer wouldn't be something to be shunned. I mean, we all have these magical beasties- it might be nice to see something less sparkly or demonic. xD No offenses meant to those Oc's.

To me, a character is made out of the personality and history given to it. The design can come from the history or from things they like, or not be related to either. It could be something passed down from the parents and uncontrolled. If you have a character with a background and some sugar ((or spice)) to go along with it, I think that's just the cherry on top.

Ohohh.. they should meet then

Ohohh.. they should meet then one day if you make one!
It will be so much fun.

I also have another character that plays how the game is meant to be....
But he isn't normal and has markings that have nothing to do with Tef. o-o

Well... a little I mean he isn't outlandish...like my character Juda...HE is red.
I try to base my character's designs off the sets. Try being the key word I tend to change them a weee bit.

You are allowed to play the game as you see fit. Your characters are also your own creation. What you make of them is entirely up to you and if they make you happy, what else matters? c:

@cloudandis: I like your perspective, and I agree with it! I just didn't want to rant about it in my entry lol. Thanks for the input! C:

@Encountering: Haha, yes, they most definitely should!
And yea, thats understandable, basing it off the sets with a few unique tweaks, I personally tried to do that with my characters. Er, their pelts at least. C: But I gave one character, Faible, a lion tail, just because, ya know lions maaaaan. cx Thanks for your input!

I have several "true" TEF

I have several "true" TEF deer. Two are more so than the others, but they're all based around the original Forest concept. Their lives are often a lot simpler, and they tend to be more carefree Sticking out tongue

(That's not to say they can't lead very interesting lives, however! Rire's gotten himself into mischief here and there - read his journals sometime if you're interested. A lot can be done without TEFc roleplay or text-based interaction!)

That's how my Vasant is. I

That's how my Vasant is. I mean, I still gave him a different look but to him people lose pelts and can change appearances and he just lives in TEF how it actually is with nothing special or extra about him. Keshadei is more wild and she doesn't consider pelt changes as the deer ACTUALLY changing their colors, and same with Lumilla who is actually a dragon.

So yes. Very possible. And it's freaken fun.

See, the human face doesn't

See, the human face doesn't appeal to me, so I prefer to create a character that either sports a skull or an actual deer's face. That's my preference though.

If you want to create something that follows the original concept, then do so. There's nothing wrong with doing what you want to do in all aspects of character creation. (:

No, not at all.

Haha thank you all for your perspectives! Its fun to see so many opinions, and it gives me some more input to my question. C:

Hah, while reading all the

Hah, while reading all the comments I'd like to say Jennie is a 'normal TEF deer' as well. Yes, some aspects of hers are unique, she is developped character and all, but she knows what is losing set, what is helping with set, what happens if game crashes/disconnects and looks at the technical side of the TEF almost the same way as I do ^^
I don't see anything bad in it~!
