Respect for the Nameless.[bumpethed]

This topic is something I think we should all remember.

When I see a deer bullying a nameless stag, it makes me sad. I know that they can come off as trying to pick a fight with you, but honestly, they are probably just testing out the actions.
The Nameless stags are the heart of the forest, if you think about it. Everyone starts as a nameless, and they gradually grow to be something wonderful. The Gods made the nameless for a reason, to show the people who are testing out the game, the wonders of our forest. All I ask is that everyone please respect them and welcome them into the forest with open arms. There is a person behind that screen, and they have feelings, just like you. c:

Yep. It's important to

Yep. It's important to remember we were all nameless once. If one starts using aggressive emotes, I just tilt my head at them. They tend to follow it with another random emote, so why respond negatively?

I'm not nameless. but I

I'm not nameless. but I still don't really know what means what. Whenever I use the sad emote, people invariably think I'm going to attack them. So I can understand the confusion.

I concur. I think we all

I concur. I think we all need to step up and instead of freaking out and attacking back, do what we're supposed to and show them the ways of the forest. Same goes for fawns, in my opinion. Yes they can be utterly annoying and down right stubborn, but most of the time they're new players or still beginners.

Even if you're roleplaying,

Even if you're roleplaying, you need to step back and understand that chances are the person controlling a nameless have no idea what the heck they're doing, let alone the social implications of their actions. If a nameless rears or lowers his antlers at me, I simply shake my head and continue on with whatever I was doing. It's as simple as that. Thanks for posting this Snowrift, common sense as it is, everyone needs a little reminder once and a while. Smiling

I agree. It's always kind of funny to watch Namelesses, but they should be treated with love and respect, and encouraged to have fun and join. Anyone who gets really annoyed should just walk away.

I agree. I admit my characters were angry and defensive at first, but I learned that was the wrong attitude. Now I always greet them politely and even play with them sometimes. Too bad they usually wander off to explore the rest, cuz they're quite fun entertainment. Laughing out loud

I agree! I thought i was

I agree! I thought i was being attacked by a nameless today but it was actually just trying to figure out how to 'act'. When i bowed they showed the amazed emote, whitch most people use as an attack, because they were like "omg they respect me :D". Then they reared up. (to play>?)

This kind of unintentional offense should be ignored, i mean, they're still learning.

I've been playing as a nameless deer for a little bit now. I wanted to get the hand of things again before I came back to the forest. xD;

I love nameless deer - they

I love nameless deer - they are perfect to play copy-cat with and befuddle with combo actions! And they're pretty quick to realise when they've done something you don't like. Let's not forget that the people playing them (testing, if you will) don't understand that there's a heavy dose of RPG behind the forest that they don't see, thus don't react to or take into consideration. They shouldn't anyway - it's not actually a roleplay game, after all ;D

/end babble

I agree with everything you've said Snowrift. Sometimes I even prefer the company of nameless players (especially en masse); they're a welcome break for general silliness and non-backfiring action-bashing =)

Much agree with everything
