Like a Phoenix
Rising from the ashes
I breathe like it's the first time
My eyes taking in the scenery

My body is new but my memories intact
I look around
Saddened
I see no one
Not even a hint of life
Surely there must be

Friends of old I have returned
To those that are hiddened
One of old has returned to live among you

I shake my head removing the dust from fur
Determined to find life that I know lives in this forest.
