Ooh, I've been tag'd. Damn you Mick.

Oh here we go.

1. Tell us about your favorite writing project/universe that you’ve worked with and why.

Hmmm. I think my still-in-development planet is interesting to work with~ It's where my two alien characters came from c: I suppose it's a bit unrealistic and stuff science-wise but...oh well, eh?

2. How many characters do you have? Do you prefer males or females?

Oh God I have a shitload. As in, way over 100, including side characters anyway. I've had tons of TEF characters and even more non-TEF characters. I definitely prefer males. About 90% of my characters are male. And a lot of my characters are based on or considered 'alternate versions' of real people, such as Freddie (Eloquent and Mercury, I'll explain that later) or unoriginal characters such as Jareth.

3. How do you come up with names, for characters (and for places if you’re writing about fictional places)?

I used to just think them up myself, grab random letters and such and see what sounded good; Taliene, Lorak, Davita, for example. But I seem to have lost the ability to do that, so now I tend to use words -- Rhapsody, Flash -- or look up origins and such.

4. Tell us about one of your first stories/characters!

Hmm. We'll go with Jim, who is probably my favourite non-TEF character and one of the first non-TEF characters I ever made. He's heavily based on Iggy Pop in appearance, but has developed his own personality (although there's no denying it's similar). He's gone through a lot of crap in life, including drug addiction, prison life, cheating, being cheated on, etc etc etc. He's a child at times and a moron at others. And he loves rabbits.

5. By age, who is your youngest character? Oldest? How about “youngest” and “oldest” in terms of when you created them?

My youngest (TEF-wise) would be Jared I think~ Active deer-wise, anyway. My oldest would be Freddie, who is about...twenty-six I think.
My 'youngest' is Freddie, haha. Non-TEF-wise it's Xilo. My 'oldest' is Taliene.

6. Where are you most comfortable writing? At what time of day? Computer or good ol’ pen and paper?

I find I prefer writing in my bedroom. My most creative times are either very early in the morning, or in the late afternoon. I mostly type, but my best work is usually written down on paper first and then typed up.

7. Do you listen to music while you write? What kind? Are there any songs you like to relate/apply to your characters?

I used to rely on music every single time I wrote, but I've stopped doing that as it tends to distract me rather than help me unless it's instrumental - and I don't have a lot of instrumental music. I do, however, base a lot of writings on lyrics or song titles. I apply a lot of songs to my characters, often Queen.

8. What’s your favorite genre to write? To read?

I love writing angst with dry-humoured wit. It's about the only thing I can write well, really~
I like reading anything, really, it all depends.

9. How do you get ideas for your characters? Describe the process of creating them.

I tend to be inspired by one thing, and base the entire character around it, developing them as I go along. Kate is pretty much my 'tool' for development, since I roleplay all of my characters with her aside from the TEF ones, oddly.
Anyway, songs and lyrics are usually what inspire me, but for 'alternate versions' it's real people. For instance, I have an entire er, alternate Queen set. The band members are the same, but have different surnames, and of course different personalities since I have never been inside their minds and they develop themselves out. That, and their band is named Regal instead of Queen - though I'm constantly considering changing that. I only really roleplay those guys with Kate, mostly because I'm afraid people would kill me for it all!

10. What are some really weird situations your characters have been in? Everything from serious canon scenes to meme questions counts!

Hmmm. I'm not sure. Probably early in Thomas' 'life' when he was trapped in a house with a prostitute under the pretence of wanting to please her, etc, and Memoir had to come 'rescue' him. Good times.

11. Who is your favorite character to write? Least favorite?

My favourites would be Freddie (Eloquent; the alternate version's surname, haha), Jim, Rhye and Rutilus.
My least favourite would be Lorak, and always has been.

12. In what story did you feel you did the best job of worldbuilding? Any side-notes on it you’d like to share?

I think my Regal crew have turned out nicely; after much confusion and editing and such, I've got a system going, worked out albums and dates and history and childhoods and all that jazz. My aliens are also doing well, now that they make more sense. Come on, I managed to work out mpreg (which I hate) with them.

13. What’s your favorite culture to write, fictional or not?

Erm...?

14. How do you map out locations, if needed? Do you have any to show us?

Oh God, I don't! My characters usually live in England, since that's where the majority of Kate's characters live.

15. Midway question! Tell us about a writer you admire, whether professional or not!

Hmm. My favourites are often Kate's writings, particularly when she goes into all that descriptive stuff that I have to read twice to make sense of because her vocabulary is spiffing. I'm also fond of SentrySeb's stuff, and GingerNut's. I prefer reading Mick's roleplays rather than his writings, but he is amazing.

16. Do you write romantic relationships? How do you do with those, and how “far” are you willing to go in your writing?

I do write romantic relationships, yes, and I guess I do them pretty well as long as there's some kind of conflict. I'll go as far as I want to, which is often pretty far - but I can't write het or lesbian (sex-wise) because I'm weird like that 8C

17. Favorite protagonist and why!

Oh balls, erm...I have no idea.

18. Favorite antagonist and why!

...8C Can we not?

19. Favorite minor that decided to shove himself into the spotlight and why!

Zane! Because he's the hybrid son of a one-armed human and a psychopathic murderous alien, of course.

20. What are your favorite character interactions to write?

Oh I don't know. I love writing Freddie with people because he's just fun.

21. Do any of your characters have children? How well do you write them?

Eh a few have kids, yeah~ I don't write them, usually.

22. Tell us about one scene between your characters that you’ve never written or told anyone about before! Serious or not.

I tell and show Kate everything, so :U But, I haven't written Rut's first manlove experience |: Because it hasn't happened.
Yet.

23. How long does it usually take you to complete an entire story—from planning to writing to posting (if you post your work)?

Hmm. The good ones take a few hours. The crap ones, or rushed-to-finish-because-I-lost-interest-half-way-through ones, take about one hour, or as little as half an hour.

24. How willing are you to kill your characters if the plot so demands it? What’s the most interesting way you’ve killed someone?

Well I had a Slenderman-like character kill Bruce, is that interesting enough? :U But that's the only time I've killed a developed character.

25. Do any of your characters have pets? Tell us about them.

I guess a few do~ Jim has a rabbit, Brian had a baby hedgehog that he rescued, Fable has an octopus, Freddie has a cat...

26. Let’s talk art! Do you draw your characters? Do others draw them? Pick one of your OCs and post your favorite picture of him!

I don't really draw my characters, no~ I doodle them, but yeah. I rarely recieve fanart from anyone other than Kate.

27. Along similar lines, do appearances play a big role in your stories? Tell us about them, or if not, how you go about designing your characters.

Appearances do play a big role I suppose. I don't really know, I tend to just...go with the flow. One thing I hate doing is making a character attractive to absoloutely everyone, because it depends on opinion - just because Rutilus is described as handsome doesn't mean everyone thinks he is, just because I find Freddie Eloquent/Mercury attractive doesn't mean he is, etc etc etc...I like to leave it up to opinion.

28. Have you ever written a character with physical or mental disabilities? Describe them.

Well Davita doesn't exactly have mental disabilites, but he's definitely more than a little insane at times. Physical disabilities...hmm. I don't think I've ever had any characters like that unless you count Lindsey, based off of the character in the Angel series, who was missing his left hand.

29. How often do you think about writing? Ever come across something IRL that reminds you of your story/characters?

I think about writing every damn day and very rarely get around to it! And I see things IRL that remind me of my characters every day c:

30. Final question! Tag someone! And tell us what you like about that person as a writer and/or about one of his/her characters!

Oh God no, I'm not putting anyone else through that!
