Non-TEF Related, but... Wisdom Teeth-?

Whyss's picture
Just got mine ripped out on Monday and they still hurt like the dickens. Luckily my doctor gave me some lovely painkillers, but they make me dizzy and if I take the maximum dose for extreme pain I throw up.

Has anyone else had theirs removed recently? Does anyone still have theirs?

I know it's sort of random and not TEF-related but they hurt and they're all I can think about atm xD

Awww, thanks doll. lol I

Awww, thanks doll. lol I would have left them in there myself, honestly, but the problem was they were coming in UNDER my molars... Which wouldn't have felt very nice if I'd just let them come on in D:

I have them all and going to

I have them all and going to keep them unless there comes a good reason for me to remove them. For now I'm fine with them. 8]

Yep, I had mine removed when

Yep, I had mine removed when I was 16. Two weeks of swelling and pain. I didn't get pain killers either. I had to pop basic ibeprofen and sleep to keep the pain back. Also lived off of milkshakes and grits and mashed potatoes.

It's rough. >_< But it should heal quickly for you.

I thought all mine grew out

I thought all mine grew out when I was 16 or so, and I've been known to try to use them (dispite them being like 1/2 the size of my mollars.) but this past year I noticed two more trying to grow in. |'D but they're like 1/4 the size of the older ones. Roots of wisdom teeth probably. (Already have a recorded root sticking out of the roof of my mouth since I was 6)

Never had them removed - never had reason to.

My wisdom teeth are still

My wisdom teeth are still under the gums. And my dentist told me they're impacted. 8D; Much fun when they try to come up. But I don't know if mine will, as I'm 22. |D

My experience was relatively

My experience was relatively easy, woke up to a numb face and a lot a bit of bleeding-that went on for a few hours-got some painkillers and a ban from good foodand straws..then my stitches were out in a week.

Most people I talk to experience much more problems than I did. I count myself lucky.

I still have mine, apparently

I still have mine, apparently mine grew in fine. (:
I hope i won't have to get mine taken out though... So many people have told me horror stories of having them shattered and pulled out.... D:

I wish I was like my mom, she never had wisdom teeth, it's really weird...

I recommend lots of

I recommend lots of milkshakes or ice cream or similar cold stuff, although you're not supposed to have too much because it can kill tissue, but just enough to numb things is nice. It's been a long time, but I had all four out at once because they were partially impacted.
The only other thing I remember is basically look for lots of distracting things to do that don't involve talking. It'll keep your mind off the pain some. In a week or less it should be down to a dull, mild annoyance.

Mine grew in without much

Mine grew in without much issue, though a few years later when I was getting my mouth x-rayed my dentist noticed I still had them and recommended I take them out because "it will cause problems later on."

pssssshhhhaaaw.

8D

I think all dentists have to say that; both my parents were told the same, but they never had them removed, and it's never caused problems.

They just want money Dx

lolwell, it's day 4 now and

lolwell, it's day 4 now and the pain is going down slightly, the swelling still has my face bloated into a boxy shape, and I can't open my mouth all the way yet. But, yesterday I had mashed potatoes and eggs and even half of a hot dog (without the bun) :'D

The one thing I'm majorly worried about is Dry Socket... I've heard horror stories, and I'm terrified of getting it, so I'm pedantically careful about what I put in my mouth.

Got mine taken out- I think

Got mine taken out- I think one was coming in wrong. It might've been that there was overcrowding too. |D
It was annoying for two weeks (do NOT NOT NOT put any food near your stitches and bite down xD), but I was overjoyed to eat real food again. xD

G'luck with yours. Laughing out loud
