Pica - What if my heart's misleading this?

Physical : 90%Thin and underbuilt. . Mental : 100%...
"Keep out of this!"
Actually had the stupidest yelling match with Monroe over the ruined can of soup he made back home as well as how his hugs weren't normal at all. Was so pissed, craning her neck to yell at him as she walked off to avoid throwing herself at him shE COMPLETELY MISSED THE FACT that she was almost walking into Greitai's face.

When she realised - or more accurately, when Greitai realised and got up - she shot back to the sleeping Rossamund and a smirking Monroe. Didn't even give the sighthound a glance when he looked like he was smug to see her back so soon but stood close to her brother's form nervously.

Not now not now not now was the only thing going through her head at the time. If her brother wasn't asleep, if he wasn't there and vulnerable, if Monroe wasn't prancing around so obliviously, things might have turned out differently but as it was, Pica did not Want A Fight.

Honestly, she forgot how terrifying a charging toothy creature could be after so many months of sleepy peacefulness but the fear she felt was overshadowed by her fear for her brother and Monroe.

Greitai had made a few false charges towards her before she decided that to run was the better option. She would have yelled to Monroe, "Stay with Rossamund!", but she became distracted when the raptor doe snapped her teeth a little too close to her for comfort.

Skittered in an uncharacteristically panicked throughout the forest before she gathered her wits enough to stand her ground, turn around and tell Greitai to back off. She was met with derision (honestly, what else was she expecting though) but somehow she got the message through a couple of tries later. Monroe, to her frustration and followed throughout the whole thing and had even made himself a target on some occasions despite her trying to ward him back and keep him behind her. I MEAN SHE KNOWS HE'S BIGGER THAN HER AND CAN HANDLE SHIT but you know she still kind of cares for the arsehole--

When she finally managed to back out of the scuffle, wobbly-legged and shocked, she made her way to the blueberry basin before she dropped to the ground. Ross had awoken in the meanwhile and had found his way to the duo. She vented her frustration onto Monroe for leaving Rossamund alone and for taking her concern for him as a joke (her words not mine) AND LITERALLY LIKE.......... CRIED from the frustration wtf pica when did you become so emotion tf

anyway, pretended not to be crying but cried until she got tired and drained and then fell asleep to Rossamund's sweet lovely fae singing, was actually nice to monroe for a bit which I'm sure he was thrilled to see

The fawn, peeking out from her 'disguise' of crytree, stiffened when the wing-thing seemed to stare directly at her. Even worse - sniffying the air. Maybe it wasn't a good thing to hide. After all, it seemed that her cover was blown once the red creature began stalking over to the crytree. Plan number two. If she couldn't go ahead and pushing it inna the water, then something else was needed. Turning as quietly as she could, she was stopped short when a red muzzle appeared, followed by two predatory eyes.

Fine. Her cover really had blown. Too bad, but she didn't really need it anyhows. Snicking her ears back and narrowing her eyes 'menacingly', Pica bristles her short fur and does a raspberry. "Tchah, wing-thing, go'way!"

@Waning
Short is sweet. Or was it short and sweet? O.o Anyhows. Don't worry.
--
Intrigued by the roundness of her tummy, Pica had leant over the best she could to inspect it critically, but now she perked one ear up and kept her gaze on her stomach as she patted it. Mumbling into her fur, the fawn half-hears the question, but caught enough to get the gist of it. Raising her head slowly, dramatically, Pica glares up at Acton. "Tummy nevah get sick of blueberries. Pica does, sometimes.[/]" She looks regretfully at the blade of grass.

"But then again, there ain't no other food than blueberries that taste nice 'round heah."

Vaharo widened his eyes, causing his slits to thin inside his eye. He moved closer to the fawn and tried to sniff around her ears. Vaharo looked more menacing than he was, thankfully his aggression was gone for now. Wing-thing? Is that what this fawn calls him? Vaharo figured he'd better speak soon, in case this fawn got the worsening idea that he was there to hurt her. Vaharo snorted and shook his head. "I have a name you know.. It's Vaharo." He gave the fawn some room, and leaned back away from the tree. He thought with his rather huge size that might also intimidate the fawn, but he couldn't help that sort of thing, so he decided to flatten a patch of grass and lay down.

Pica was slightly daunted, since there seemed to be no other of-same to rely on as backup, but she squared up and put on her 'tough girl' face. Turned out it wasn't when no stinging line of red-hurt appeared. Hm. Name? It had a name..? Didn't know not-sames had names.. Fine. He play nice, Pica play nice. Maybe. "Nup, Pica didn't know. Vahar." She'd deliberately made a nickname of the wing-thing, in hopes that she'd get to play mean.

"HaHA! Pica gotcha. Pica gotcha good." The fawn decides on whether to roll off Rossy's legs, but decides against it. He wouldn't mind. Pica patted Rossy's tummy reassuringly. Vaharo lifted his ears when Pica repeated his name, although missing the 'o' from it. He didn't mind too much, not thinking that might've been his nickname besides wing-thing. He could tell this fawn was younger than he thought, she spoke with a young tongue, not knowing how to form things correctly, unless that is just how she is. He lifted himself from the ground and shook out his wings and pelt. He leaned down and corrected his name for her anyway, he thought 'Vahar' was awful long for a nickname. "My name is Vaharo, not Vahar." He felt this fawn might get bored of him easily, so he lifted his head and blew a ring of smoke from his nostrils. Although he could not breathe fire, his nose still smoked like that of a dragon.

@staff
The fawn eyed the wing-thing warily. Perhaps it was time to start trying to whack at him. She was further convinced when he got up and seemed to be about to use his wings. Pica tensed, ready to skitter off if he did, but ended up immensely confused when all it did was correct his name. So maybe he didn't get the jab. "Psh. Wharreva."

The wing-thing seemed okay though, up close. Even had pretty eyes. Lotsa colours in it's eyes. Pica was examining the red and gold colouring of the wing-thing's eyes when suddenly her attention was moved up to where a wispy black looking thing floated. Frowning, half-forgetting that the wing-thing was there, Pica sat and stared at it with fascination as it dissipated. Well, maybe Var had it's uses. Made pretty things in the air.

@Waning
"Jah. See? Pica don't have much else to eat. She stared wistfully off in the distance. "Wish Pica could eat different stuff. Crunchy stuff. Hot stuff. Cold stuff. All dat stuff." She motioned her head vaguely to emphasise the gigantic amounts of stuff she could eat if she weren't in this 'world'. Suddenly, she seemed to snap back into herself as she gazed up at Acton. "Acton been to another world before? Tea told Pica about worlds..." She muttered the last sentence, unsure if Acton knew Tea or not. Oh well.

Vaharo tended to learn and

Vaharo tended to learn and remember many things about other creatures when he encountered them. For instance, he remembered the way Pica talked, the way she would quickly switch attention with things. Vaharo constantly practiced remembering things, in case something or someone ever needed help or if someone needed someone.... eliminated.. perhaps. His mother told him a good mind and quick wit makes the most skilled hunter, which Vaharo considered himself to be entirely. He grunted and scratched his neck with his back hoof, then shook his head for a bit. He figured this fawn had to be hungry, so he unfolded his wings and took off in a split second and was in the air. He searched the ground, until he found some mulberry trees clustered together. He lowered himself just above the trees, and knawed off a branch full of succulent berries. He flew back to the fawn and dropped the branch just by her hooves, then landing near her. He lay down and folded his wings and gave the fawn an expressionless but innocent look.

@staff
The fawn had been staring at the spot where the wispy thing had disappeared - perhaps it would come back and play with her? Urgh. It didn't seem so - and staring up at the sky was beginning to hurt her eyes. She was about to turn her attention bak to the large presence beside her when she was bowled over backwards by the hooge gust of air that blew up as Var beat his wings as he got aloft. Splash. Surfacing, Pica splutters whatever colourful insults she could think up of right now, wet and beginning to accumulate mud in her fur. Again. "Yah, you big lump of tchah! A tree coulda walked into you and .." It continued on as she shook herself out into a spiky wet and grumpy fawn.

She was ready this time when Var touched down and was about to start raspberrying him when with a soft thump and rustle of leaves a branch was dropped next to her. Was he trying to whack her on the head?! Pica glared at Var before inspecting the branch, wondering if she could lift it to bonk it on the wing-thing's head too. But - whaa? Berries? Red and black? Never seen those before. Intrigued, Pica eyes Var, but with no expression to give away, she was stumped. Food? Or to make her sick? Undecided, Pica flops along with her happy-go-lucky nature and leans forward to nom on the biggest, juciest berry, still warm from the sun.

@Echo
Snuzzly. Cuddly. Schneegly. Nice. Pica almsot purrs from happiness, but seeing that she didn't have the right throat to make such a noise it came out in a strangled gurgle. Hopefully Rossy didn't mind the noise in his ear. It stopped, however when Rossy shifted positions and turned into an alarmed squeak as she tried to balance herself in all the fluff. It was hard, seeing that she wasn't even sure if that patch of fluff there had a Rossy underneath it or was just a patch of fluff hanging off the side of him. Urgh. Did a balancing act before tugging at his ear happily. "Not fun, since Pica can't run fast, but if itsa fun for Rossy, itsa fun for Pica." Still with that childlike love for her brother.

"Other worlds?" Like...like...home? Home? He could go home somehow? He struggled to regain control of himself, but he had jumped at the thought without so much as realizing how desperately he missed home. Not the home he had come to know in the end, but home home. The place he had been born, raised, defended. A smile flickered on his face before he realized with a jolt that the home he remembered wouldn't be the same. His friends were dead. He had killed them. That put a halt on the excited look in his eye, but only by a bit. He could pray their forgiveness...find a wife and settle down. Have a family. Live. Truly live. But he was getting ahead of himself. He didn't know if he could even go home. She had just mentioned other worlds...something someone named Tea told her. He peered down at the fawn, trying to keep his over eager excitement to know what she knew of this in check. He didn't want to scare her. "No, I never knew of them..."

Vaharo paid no attention to

Vaharo paid no attention to the spiteful muttering of the fawn, he knew she couldn't do much to try and hurt him anyway. He was glad that she decided to eat the berries, he knew how paranoid and naïve fawns tended to be. Seeing his actions as likeable and no need to worry about Pica's pestering, he decided to groom himself while he was resting. He unfurled his left wing and began gumming the rims of it to give a glossy shine. Once done with that, he licked the leathery inside flaps with his forked tongue, making sure to get them glimmering. He then scratched at his shoulder and knawed on it a bit before grooming his other wing. Vaharo was more like a cat than anything, always making sure his wings are groomed and pretty. He turned his attention back to Pica and blew another smoke ring towards her, knowing that gives the fawn a good play.

@Waning
Pica had been watching him in a confused manner, but when he hopped up suddenly, as if having cold water splashed on him, Pica tried to scramble away in fear he was going to trample her. Failing that, her round stomach allowed her to roll around and vaguely out of the stag's way. "[=@6DD6CA]DUNSQWISHMEACT....on..?[/]" She trailed off when he seemed to begin smiling. Had she made him smile? Had she?! "Jah, well there the good forest, which is here, an the bad forest, which is somewhere there." Encouraged, Pica rattled off about the meagre knowledge she knew about worlds, looking up every now and then to inspect Acton's reaction.

@Staff
Berries were actually nice. Different from blueberries, and that was a change. Bulldozed through the branch, snaffling black and red berries alike with gusto. At last! A different taste! Waddled out after eating all the ones that were reomotely edoble and squishing the ones that weren't so that she left faint imprints of mulberry juice as she tottered her way over to a grooming Var. Gently lowered herself down to watch him. ".. Wings're fine. Why're you eating them?" She was curious on why he seemed to be trying to eat himself or something. Wriggling forwards eagerly, Pica was about to try nom on Var in case he actually tasted nice when the blackstuff whooshed out when he turned his gaze on her. Thank goodness she was down already, otherwise it would've gotten in her face.

After watching it float away, Pica turned her head back to Var and looked rather peevishly at him.

Vaharo thought it might be risky, but he wanted to give a gesture anyway. He got up and shook any flecks of dirt from his pelt before leaning down beside the fawn and extending his wing closest to her to act as a ramp. Vaharo was taught that a dragon's true sign of friendship is giving them a flight. Thoughts of mulberries flashing in her mind and her eagerness to get more, the fawn doesn't notice as much when Var snorts rather derisively. Instead, she was dreaming about how o get at the berries - assuming that they were around ground-height. Var was a strange thing. For one, he was big. Verrah big. Two, he had wings. Pica didn't. Wonder how he got them.. The small fawn was musing around on this when Var got up and did something weird with his wing. "Are we getting more of the black-red berries?" Pica looks up hopefully, but still unsure about what he wanted to do.

Perhaps he was bringing her there so she could eat as many as she want..?

@Waning

If it meant getting the nice berries again, she'd be more than happy to sit on his back. What she didn't know was that he was actually going to flyfly, while Pica thought he was just going to glide around. Vaharo was quite happy Pica

Vaharo was quite happy Pica decided to climb his wing. His tail started waving the grass back and forth as she used the rims of his wings to help pull herself up. He lifted his wing to allow her to gently slide onto his back, and then stood up into a proud dragon stance and waited to let her adjust. He knew he'd have to take it easy, seeing as she is a fawn and how she doesn't really know how to work her hooves into a good gripping stance. He took Valittu for several flights before, each faster than the one before. Vaharo was a very fast flyer, which for his size wasn't too unusual. His mother was quite larger than him, and flew at an average to slow speed, but she didn't fly that often compared to her son. Vaharo lifted his smoking nose into the air and inhaled the winds, seeing how fast their currents were and what directions they were going in. Vaharo's flight mostly relied on his tail acting as a directional guide, and also kept his balance in the air. But with his large wings, he could keep himself up for long enough if something were to go wrong, which he wasn't worried about with Pica's flight.

Apparently too tall, as Pica shrank back down unhappily, only deigning to stay on because of the tempt of those delicious berries.

Pica whimpered quietly and scrabbled her hooves weakly around in an attempt to try get down safely, any was she could and ended up flailing all legs around to get down on the ground, whichever way she could and without meaning to got her hooves roughly in the position to secure herself for the flight.

In part of his heart, he'd be saddened if she backed out, a dragon only offers the flight of friendship once, and never any more. But she did seem to like those berries, that's for sure. Vaharo skimmed around, and located a patch not too far from where he was standing. He used his tail to give Pica something to lean on, and walked to the patch, grabbing a branch with his jaws and placing it on his back. @Waning Pica was now

@Waning
Pica was now progressing to the stage where rubbing around on the grass was essential for the furious itch she had on her back. Wriggling and rolling around, Pica's ears caught most of Acton's thoughtful sounding words, full of dirt as they were. "Jah, butcha got to find the doors first. 'N Pica's tried alla 'em." A peeved expression crossed her features then - must be because she was remembering the whole day spent galumphing around the forest, poking, prodding and headbutting anything she felt that would be a door.

@Staff
As soon as Var started skimming around the forest, Pica was certain he was out to kill her, or topple her off. The fawn had shrieked and cringed into the coarse fur, grabbing onto a hunk with her teeth, though it truth he actually didn't taste very good at all. No wonder she didn't see many other of-sames 'preening'. But that wasn't the point now - the point was that Pica could see the grass blurring all together into a hard looking, spiky ground with only the shadow of the wing-thing that was keeping pace with their speed. Which made Pica feel sick - she was obviously not a creature of the air. Between pauses that sounded vaguely like Pica was holding back the berries from earlier from spilling out, the fawn croaked out, "Wharra... Why... we doin' this... a-"

She was cut off when they stopped and a rolling motion of Var walking occurred, and a large branch nearly landing on Pica again, but she didn't mind - not when they were laden with glistening black and red berries. The little glutton dimly heard Var's words as her ears were full of the sound of her chomping busily on the berries, smearing his back fur with bits of the dropped delicacies.

His nose smoked heavier when he also saw that his back was a mix of red, black, and purple from the smeared juice of those mulberries. Gee, Pica is sure a messy eater... he thought to himself. Vaharo did have an idea though. Since he is quite furry, and his back in general did have long tufts of fur, he grabbed a tuft with his jaws and wrapped it around one of Pica's front legs. He tugged it a bit to see how sturdy that would hold. He did plan on taking the fawn for a flight after all. He went ahead and wrapped Pica's other front leg just to make sure, before he turned his head around and unfurled his rather large wings to their entire wingspan. His head turned around in a rather innocuous way and he just stared at her and gave a low grumble.

As she was making a mess of the dragon-stag's back fur, the fawn noticed the black wispy stuff again - coming from Var's nose. Pica stared at it rather intensely, paused in her chewing for a while as she was studying how it dissipated in a breeze. She'd never seen anything like this before in the forest other than other of-same's poofing, but that was purply.

About that time Pica, in her sprawled position watched curiously as Var turned his rather flexible neck around to fiddle with the fur around her forelegs as she resisted the urge to flail at his nose when his mouth full of toothies got too close. (Her face: :<) Then he did the same to the other, now with Pica staring at his quick work with occaisional snatches of mulberries in between. The fawn was inspecting these bits of knotted fur that bound her forelegs to Var's back when she was startled with the whispery rustle of his wings unfolding and promptly choked on her mouthful of half-chewed mulberries.

Darnit, they were HOOGE. The thin membranes of Var's wings stretched out on either side of the small fluff, giving her a very vague idea exactly how wide they were. The fawn was warily peering over the sides of the dragon-stag's neck to inspect the shadows the wings made when she jerked her head up upon feeling movement in Var's neck muscles as he turned his head around again. Hurriedly arranging her tough-girl face, Pica frowned in an attempt to cover her dim fear of heights and mumbled, "We gunna fly or not? .... An' you got big wings, Var. As in verrah big."

Thank you, Tuo and Kohva!

Vaharo just stared with an expressionless face at Pica, one eye on either side occasionally blinking. After a minute or so, he shook his head a bit and turned around. With haste, Vaharo bent down to give a bit more spring in his jump, and took to the skies with quite the speed. He almost forgot that there was a fawn pretty much tied to his back, and he lowered his altitude a bit and spread his wings out to the sides to just glide along the currents. He barely skimmed the treetops as he decided to make his way to the grassy plains outside of the forest. How he loved that area, the winds would make the long grasses shimmer in the sunlight. Vaharo almost felt as if the grass turned to waves amongst a shore, it creating a watery sounding whisper as it blew from the wind. Vaharo lightly flapped his wings, the plains now coming into view. He turned his head to check on Pica before giving his wings a strong flap, allowing him to gain a bit more speed to leave the trees behind. He lifted his head higher to allow a barrier from the wind, to make sure Pica wasn't being blasted by the air as she was on him. After flying a good distance from the dense forest, Vaharo slowly cruised downward until his hooves almost dragged on the ground. He lifted his wings and flapped until he landed on the ground. He turned around and unwrapped his fur from Pica's legs and sniffed around her, making sure she was alright. He failed to notice that he snorted smoke at her in the process. He lay down amongst the flowy grasses and folded his left wing, but lowered his right to allow Pica to climb down.

I missed an Abio yet again. XD It was really late though. Oh well...

Rossamund gazed thoughtfully at Pica over his shoulder. Perhaps if she exercised more... "If you practice running more, you could go faster, I think. And maybe eat a little less berries. I could practice with you!" He perked his ears up, excited by the notion.

Pica was beginning to feel uncomfortable under Var's blank face and had begun shifting awkwardly and considering sliding off when with an alarming bump and dip, the fawn was yanked up into the air with only the dragon-stag's fur wrapped around her forelegs keeping her in place. And yelling. Don't forget the damn-loud, high-pitched fawn secured on his back. It was a terrifying experience for Pica to be buffeted by winds and knowing the only thing between her and the firm ground were Var's wings.

She was so preoccupied with wondering with horror how she'd fall that she realised that her forelegs weren't being yanked by his fur, and that the wind which had made her eyes squeeze shut was gentler. They had got to the part where the grassy plains were able to be seem before Pica yanked her thoughts away from the ground and to the shimmery grasses in the wind, eyes wide with fear and confusion. Wasn't there supposed to be grass there...? The fawn, hunched up against the neck of Vaharo merely stared at all the strange places that were familiar, but unfamiliar all at once when viewing from the air, felt vaguely grateful when they settled on the ground. Half frozen in the cold wind - since Vaharo's head and neck couldn't prevent all the icy wind from blasting the fawn - and still trying to comprehend the strange perspective she had seen the forest from, Pica didn't particularly notice when Var blew out the wispy things again, still seeing with her mind's eye the forest and the plains as she sat on the dragon-stag and stared dumbly at the ground.

To Echosong: (Oh well. <3)

Perched relatively comfortably on Rossy, the fawn only noticed Rossy's stare on her after a few seconds or so and she twitched her head around to look down on Rossy's endearingly flat face. Even the little twitch made her wobble, and the fawn hoped that, one, her 'brother' didn't mind getting sat on, and two, he also wouldn't mind her using his head as a support as she rested her chin on it. Whatever Rossy said though, must be true, so Pica perked her ears as he took a breath to speak. Instantly regretted it when he told her to actually exercise. Laying off the berries was almost just as bad, but then again, they weren't always that nice. Since they got boring.

Putting on a pouty-face, Pica took her chin off to make puppy-eyes at her brother and began whining. - "But Rossy! I don't wanna exercise! It's haaard." She blinked soulfully at him, hoping that he'd have another alternative for her to be lighter, yet stick to her regular diet/lazing.

Thank you, Tuo and Kohva!

Vaharo began to get impatient

Vaharo began to get impatient with the little fawn now. So instead of taking things easy, Vaharo turned his head around and carefully placed his jaws around the fawn's abdomen and lifted her up. He made sure to tuck his teeth so that they weren't on her at all. He placed her on the ground and then lay down himself. He waved his tail around in the air for a bit before letting it smack onto the grass. He adjusted himself a bit before lifting his nose into the crisp air, letting the winds toss his chest fur and blow the smoke from his nose. He really enjoyed coming out into the plains, he reminded himself to come more often. Vaharo secretly couldn't stand the trees most of the time. They always blocked the full span of his wings, Vaharo would have to tuck them in close to his body to be able to fly at high speeds, and even still the trees barely skim past his wings. His size didn't help for that sort of matter either. The trees made Vaharo feel restricted and closed in, so the plains were ideal for him if he wanted to fly or run, which he planned to do soon.
