songs that fit my characters. just keeping them here.

Rutilus Phoebus

Madison Blues by George Thorogood ::

- 'You women talk about your Madison shoes - we got a thing we call the Madison blues!'

Rutilus reaaally hates it when women act as if they're the only ones that suffer from heartbreak. Plus, he's felt the blues a hell of a lot in his life.

Get A Haircut by George Thorogood ::

- 'Get a haircut, and get a real job!'

Pretty much describes his mother and stepfather's attitude to his teenage self.

Mexico by Cake ::

- 'I had a match, but she had a lighter, I had a flame, but she had a fire'
- 'I was bright, but she was much brighter, I was high, but she was the sky - oh, baby, I was bound for Mexico'
- 'I say I want you and you don't believe me, you say you want me but I've got my doubts'

Always makes me think of Rut and Martisol, this one ;;

Agent 'Sax' No.9

The Day Before You Came by The Real Tuesday Weld ::

- 'Yes, I'm sure my life was well within its usual frame the day before you came'

I'm not sure why, but it reminds me of her life before Cypher entered it. Perhaps it's the general melancholy feel to it, as well as the feeling that each day was a repeat of the last.

Far Away (Red Dead Redemption Soundtrack) ::

- 'Pushing forward through the night, aching chest and blurry sight'
- 'Can't believe the state I'm in - it's so far, so far away'
- 'Who are you trying to impress, steadily creating a mess?'

Not only does it make me imagine Sax after a battle or a mission of some kind, in a snow-covered wilderness, the third line there fits so well I can't even. She does wreak havoc everywhere she goes, and sometimes it seems deliberate for reasons I can't figure out.

Riders on the Storm by The Doors

- 'Riders on the storm, into this world we're born, into this world we're thrown'

Sax tends to feel as if she has no purpose - and, in reality, she really doesn't. This song is a very dark, melancholic one and it fits her views on the world pretty damn well. There's also the added touch of constant rainfall in the background, which amuses me, since the sound of water scares her.

Jailhouse Rock by Elvis Presley

- 'Number forty-seven said to number three, you're the cutest jailbird I ever did see, I sure would be delighted with your company, come on and do the jailhouse rock with me'

Probably the use of numbers and talk of prisoners here, but it really does make me think of Snake and Sax on a good day. ;;

Keith Richards

L'amour et le morte by The Real Tuesday Weld ::

- 'Well I don't believe in love - until I'm in love'

Reminds me of his general attitude towards love, the way he constantly denies its existence for him, only to fall in love over and over again.

Live With Me by The Rolling Stones :

- 'I got nasty habits, I take tea at three'
- 'Don't you think there's a place for you, inbetween the sheets?'
- 'Why don't you wanna live with me?'
- 'You'd look good pram-pushin' down the high street'

Because sometimes, Keith gets desperate and doesn't understand why no-one will keep him.

You've Really Got A Hold on Me by The Beatles

- 'I don't like you, but I love you, seems like I'm always thinking of you'
- 'I wanna leave you, don't wanna stay here, don't wanna spend another day here'
- 'You treat me badly; I love you madly, you've really got a hold on me'

Basically describes Keith's feelings towards Austere in a nutshell. He's getting better at keeping his mind off of the sorcerer and 'getting over him', but this song still makes me think of them every time.

The Worst by Keith Richards

- 'Well I said, from the first, I am the worst kind of guy for you to be around'
- 'You shouldn't stick with me; you trust me too much, you'll see'

Pretty much describes Keith and Fletcher's current relationship, but I'm certain it'll be a big part of Keith's future, the whole 'don't trust me I'm bad for you' thing. He's genuinely starting to believe that he's a bad person, and it's not true in my opinion but eh...try telling Keith that. He's tired of seeing people get hurt because of him.
