In The City of Angels - Sol

Ebony3's picture
Name: Sol Vanderbilt Doldrums
Given names: Marquesas Everdean Jones, Uriel Whitaker, many many others - the people in his cities tend to call him whatever they want

-An extremely powerful but inexperienced god
-Only 28, most assume he's older
-Very much a city kid, knows nearly nothing about the wild places or country. Areas with lots of trees and nature that aren't parks fill him with unease
-Lives in and takes care of four cities in four worlds, has his home in one - which he spends most of his time in. Has greatly improved the cities in the time that he's lived in them. His main city is filled with all kinds of magical nonsense and has an abnormally high concentration of gods and deities living in it.
-Workaholic, incapable of taking more than a 5 minute break. Has an extremely busy and hectic schedule, does everything from breaking curses, moving parked cars, installing plumbing and weaving protection spells.
-Expects to be repaid for tasks he completes, the cost is negotiated before hand and those trying to duck out of a fee will be punished. Cost is variable though - bases it around how much the client can give, will also do work and help for free. If he is given a gift will remember it and try to repay it.
-Takes his job seriously, strives to protect and help every inhabitant of his cities. Keeps his power in check and fears the few times when he snaps and loses control.
-Holds grudges like nobody's business, if you slight him in any way he'll remember.
-Has an orb of glowing fire/light as a head that flickers and changes based on how he's feeling - can make a human face but will lose it if he forgets to concentrate on it. The orb is extremely hot and can cause painful burns if touched unexpectedly. Accidentally sets things on fire a lot.
-Comes off holier than you for most first meetings, especially if that meeting takes place in the forest. Tends to view the forest residents as ignorant peasants. This goes away if Sol meets someone more than once - then he's a very excited, caring individual that will do his best to take care of the people he's close to. Any friends of his friends become his friends instantly.
-Owns four pigeons (3 from Rid), a box full of screaming human teeth, something demonic that can be loosely called a horse (named Lippy), and a giant moth
-Shares his apartment with Pembroke, a human born god and a thing that crawled out of his mirror one day.
-Used to think he was human, found out this wasn't the case when a being came to his world and nearly destroyed it. Confronted the being in a last ditch effort to save the world and ended up inadvertently absorbed the world's sun - beat the being but also doomed his world. Also ended up loosing his head and internal organs when his godhood activated. Fled the world and ended up in one of the cities he now calls home. Used to be a semi-successful pick-pocket and thief that was good at casting decent illusions.
-Partial to wearing suits and gloves, always has cold hands. A neat-freak, keeps everything clean and in place - except for his workshop which can only be described as organized chaos.
