“She didn’t seem to enjoy it very much.”
Shrugging mildly, Pan sipped her coffee. “She’s not used to your type of parenting. Her mother spoiled her, from what it sound like.” Across from her in the café booth, Never ran his tongue over his pointed teeth, smiling slightly. “Yes, she did. Five minutes with that woman is all it takes.” Raising his hand to a passing waitress, he ordered another couple of donuts. Pandemonium arched a thin eyebrow. “You’re gonna get fat, you know. Besides, I’m short on cash. We’re gonna have to torch the place.” The huge man shrugged apologetically – his black eyes flashed under his sunglasses, and he grinned. “I’ll get some exercise, then. But nevermind. Set up any plans for today?”
“Well, most importantly, I’m getting on a plane in a few hours. I have to decide who survives the crash-“ she paused to take another drink- “but I’m landing in New York, to pay my sister a visit. Looks like she’s been keeping out of sight, from what the FBI’s got in their computers.” She smiled fondly, looking very much like some kind of rabid wolf. Never looked intrigued. “Oh, the terrorist, right? You never told me you sprung her out.”
“More like blew.” The redhead leaned back and looked out the window. “But I’ve promised not to kill her, so I guess I should see how things are going.” Her unkempt curls framed her pale face as she looked back at never and set down her mug. “Okay, let’s do this.”
He seemed excited. “Wonderful. The chairs are made of metal – they’ll crack bone, at the least.”
“Perfect. I’ll go get the…you want arsenic or arsenal, sweetie?”
“Surprise me.”
