The Diary of Seed, 12-21,22-08

I have a little bit to say about the day before yeasterday, though I am aware the entry will be a little lacking.

I did get some work on the Forest production of Little Red Riding Hood, at long last: Noortis and I scouted out a few locations that we liked, so that, at least, is settled. I met a new fawn (her name, as I understand it, is Nara) who seems...particularly familiar. I showed her around the forest a bit, and ran into Lemon and 21, as well as a few other deer. It was rather fun, having a few fawns around, all innocent and wide-eyed, that fresh 'new fawn' smell lingering after them as they hop eagerly about...There's just something about watching fawns that makes me feel all warm and complete. I guess I'm feeling a little paternal.

The next day was a rather busy day: when I woke up, I found a group of deer sitting by the pond. It turns out that it was one of the deer's, a stag by the name of Ialu, stagday, though I was unaware at the time. I sat with them, until the new stag fell asleep: at which point, his brother and I did use him to cast some spells (and as a chair ^^). When he woke up, we formed a conga line, with Lemon, another fawn, and another stag joining in at its longest.

Later on, I ran into Scape and another deer I don't think I've met (at least not thoroughly) called Zerg. They were hanging around a mushroom circle, and so we started to to what any sensible stags would do: we were silly. This silliness was interrupted by Redkora, which led to a new activity: running around and jumping. This, in turn, was interrupted by a fawn that...at least from my perspective...just appeared there. We were all a little disturbed, of course, but...the fawn was frightened by us! It eventually calmed down, and started asking for some shapesghifting magic. When I sat down to help the little fellow out, a sitting line formed behind me. Quad (or mini-Quad) came around that point, too, and joined us. I didn't get a shapeshifting spell, for some reason: neither did Scape. Did the faeries of the mushroom circle rage at us for our siliness? I hope not: faeries make bad enemies, and besides...if you can't have fun in a mushroom circle, then who's to say where that slope ends? I suspect it was just something random, really... Even though I got no spell, one got cast on me: I turned into a frog. I didn't stay a frog long, though.

Scape and I went off after that. We ran off into a different part of the forest, where we did some dancing and, ultimately, some unfortunate sit-sliding...I hate how poor I am at sit-sliding. I tried very hard to manage the version where one can turn...But without any success. I know what I'm trying to do, and I'm pretty sure I know how Scape manages it (I think), but I just can't manage it. I can do straight backwards and forwards sit-sliding, which I suppose will have to do. I just got...so frustrated. I decided to stop worrying about that, while I could, and ran off to get a drink, with Scape following. So, we had a drink from the idol (the cleanest, freshest water, in my opinion), we munched on some berries as well, getting juice all over our faces. After that we did some grazing, just to balance out our mealtime. That was just what I needed: there's nothing like a good run, when added to a good meal, to unwind when you're frustrated. And then we did some air-sitting near the idol, when I had to go. We walked, red and slow as a religious procession, back to my sleeping spot beneath the bridge, where we said goodnight.

Truthfully, my deer can turn

Truthfully, my deer can turn while sit-sliding cuz I play using a controller. Scape felt a little guilty for "showing off" when he saw Seed getting discouraged. =( There is a way to do it using the keyboard, dance, and roar, but I forgot how it works. >.< And if you go "offscreen" while sliding, when you reappear, you're no longer sitting to someone, even if you're still sitting to...well, yourself.

Ah, I forgot about the controller....I always forget about your nice controler.
The misteries of turning while sit-sliding continue to elude, but one of these days (heh-heh)

Only downside to the controller is sometimes it overrides the keyboard. ^^; Or my deer will randomly keep facing to the side no matter which way I rotate the camera. O.o I think I'm wearing the controller out.

Haha, kind of wish I could pull off sit sliding as well... So far all Zerg can do is sit and get stuck there. |D *fail*

Hmm... kind of wonder why that one fawn was so freaked out by us.

Likewise.
I can pull of sit-sliding, but not the good version, just the "goes in a straight line" version...but I'm glad I'm not the only one who can't do the fancy version.

and I have no clue. For a while, I wasn't certain if the fawn was saying that it wanted a shapeshift spell cast, or if it was telling us it was afraid of the circle....that was a wierd fawn.
