Blue tears for the hurt ((short comic-like thing))

Very minor blood warning. Just taking the extra precaution. xD;

Wahhh I love drawing her <33 This was so much fun.
P.S. Though I feel the fighting's getting a little out of hand, I think it adds some excitement to the game. So I don't totally disagree with it. I just hope it doesn't go on for too long. Smiling

Had my first exam today; English. Tomorrow's a hard one! French and Science. Wish me luck. I miss you all and the Forest.

The Forest had returned to sunny glade when I raised my head this day. Soon before, the birches had glowed with rose dust and ruby sparks, so bright, so beautiful, splendor at its full. And it was then that I had met dear Paavo again, first since my body changed to that of a doe... It had been wonderful to see him again.

Now, the scent that first met my nose was of Hania. Joyful, I galloped towards him, my leg now nearly healed.
I sped through soft grasses and there he was, waiting, and we exchanged bows and nuzzles in greeting...

Ah, thou hath returned, Sun, to warm our pelts and butter the bark of these golden seas...

"A stroll, perhaps?..." I asked timidly, and we began to walk together across the dusty plains, mottled robust ochre and gold...
And it was beautiful...

Soon I felt a kind of joy within me burst open, and I began to hop about - silly as it was - and jump within the birches. To my surprise, Hania joined me, and soon we were both jumping and hopping everywhere...

I felt so happy, and I realized how wonderful it felt to be happy, with not a care, and the whole absurd silliness of all this hopping just made me want to... want to...
And then...

I laughed.

Not a grin, not a giggle, nor a chuckle. A full laugh, the kind that starts in your belly and doesn't like to stop.
I nearly choked at how amazing it felt to laugh. And now I understood what it was to laugh, or I remembered what it was like to laugh... For I hadn't laughed since that day...
And the nostalgia, the familiarness of laughing, nearly overwhelmed me.

Olive's Diary ~ May 18/09

.

Dear Diary,
Today was quite odd!
Since the twilight seemed to make me very goofy, I decided to turn into a squirrel and run about. Silly me, I know! But it was good fun. I met Ephra and Virgil, and after a while I turned back yet again into a deer. To my surprise I was wearing a very strange set! Sneezing didn't bring my normal one back, so kind Virgil and Ephra helped me out there. Thank you!
It was even better when we all became mini-deer! The terrible trio, I suppose.
Then Virgil had to leave, and it was saddening. But after some frolicking about, we came across Cirrus and Lorak, who was sneezing terribly.
I quickly realized this wasn't Lorak, but another with the same pictogram. A strange doe who looked very sad, I must say. She kept on looking at me and being sad, so naturally, I was curious!
I followed her about the Forest, always wondering about the strange tugging feeling in my chest, something to do with the funny hole that was there...
I suddenly realized with a great burst of shock that the doe was Nina! Yes, that was her name. I felt a great burst of joy and amazement at meeting my mate again, for she had been my mate. No, she still was, wasn't she? I still loved her.
But even though I tried to show her I was glad to see her, not angry at her or anything, she seemed so down and miserable. I nuzzled her many times, but alas! Why did she need to be so sad?
When she fell asleep and left the Forest, I had a strange feeling that I might not be her mate anymore. Dear Diary, I am very confused! Why did I forget her, anyway? How could I forget her? Is it because I forgot her that she isn't my mate anymore? But I'm sure we still love each other! This is strange.

Bewildered,
Olive

I awoke to the pittering of rain upon leaf and bough. I raised my head, a slight smile on my face; I liked the rain... My fur seemed suited to it, for the drops simply slipped away, rarely soaking in, and it soothed my injured limb as I stretched...

Glistening drops... Cling to the spider's web, adorned by a widow...

I sat there awhile, in the sweet-swelling rain, pondering and thinking...
I missed Paavo and Shyla dearly. I wonder where they could be... My heart ached for them both.
And then there was the stag, Hania... Silly that I'd called him Wisp. It was only because of others that I'd found out who he was... But I was strangely glad. Hania. A good name...
And Birrmagnur... The good sir. How wise he was! He was strong, too... But... he could never replace Paavo...

I finally raised myself from the ground, perking my ears to listen. To my surprise, many were about at this rainy hour... Sir Birrmagnur, Aegle, and the doe named Chantico...
First I will seek out Chantico, I decided. I am sure she is lonely... She hates for so many to approach her...

I stayed with her a while, but soon I heard Birrmagnur call to me... and I was obliged to go to him. Remorsefully I told Chantico not to follow me; I knew that where I would go, there would be plenty of deer... and she would dislike that, I knew...

"I'm sorry," I whispered as I left her, and she watched me go sorrowfully. It's for your own good...

On my way to find Birrmagnur, I passed by the Ruins, and there was my good friend Aegle.

I woke today with the birch forest's sunshine on my pelt. Sweet wisps of golden wheat tickled my nose, urging me to wake and listen...
"Yes," I whispered back, and I walked... or limped, as my leg still ached from the trip of yesterday...

Beautiful grasses... Waft gently... Take the wind's rustles and bend to throw them further...

I soon came to the edge of the birches and wheat. The border between dark moist earth and sandy soft soil was clear, and I paused; the old Forest had little places to hide...
I was afraid... As I so often were, and am.
Silly...

I took hesitant steps out into the shade, noticing a large group of deer that stood upon the Hill of the Gods. I could hear voices, and laughter.
I wish... I could laugh like them...
I watched from the crook of an oak, silently selfish in my desires.
They were loud... They seemed to be enjoying their antics, and as I watched, I could see spells pass between them in a flurry of golden lights.

What is it... to "enjoy"... like them?...

Suddenly from behind me sounded the beat of light hooves. I spun, fearful, to gaze upon the eager fawn that raced up to me. I yelped in fright and scuttled as briskly as I could with my injured leg, and as it still pained me, I stopped to look behind me...

The fawn had trotted away, quite dejectedly. I felt a pang; "I'm sorry..." I whispered, and began to limp back into the birches. Perhaps it was best for me to stay away from any I could hurt...

To my surprise I heard the same hoofbeats yet again; the same fawn was dashing up to me, even faster than before!

~*Plumeria's Farewell*~

[center]Rain pattered.

Gentle rain. Sweet rain.

The rain pattered, gently upon the leaves and the heavy boughs of the trees. They dripped in beautifully perfect droplets down to the forest floor, where they were sucked down and pulled deep into the loam. They fell, softly, to feed thirsty roots and to water the dry earth.
The doe named Plumeria stood silently in the rain. She stood under a proud pine, at the cap of a rounded hill, near to the watery depths of the Pond.
Gently, she blinked, and stray drops of rain slipped away from her eyelashes and rolled slowly down the contours of her butterfly mask. The violets wrapped around the antler-doe's tines were happy in the rain; lively, they swayed with the rhythms of the drops' patterings, and their colors were bright and fresh.

Gentle rain...

It had been raining when Taint said goodbye.

With the rain, a pearly mist had come, and joyfully it had wrapped the Forest in its curling wisps. Masked, the trees in the distance were only silhouettes of their proper selves.
Behind Plume was the sleeping figure of her brother. Dear Olive was oblivious to the rain; he slept a peaceful sleep, with no worries, no aches, no painful desires. He did not remember that he had once had a love, and all he knew was that there was a strange empty place in his heart.
Plume simply watched the world in the rain, everything soft and muffled, wet and moist and heavy. Her face behind her mask was calm, but now, her deep sorrow was openly visible in her eyes.
Painful reminders floated down with the rain, and they threatened to overwhelm the doe's heart. With it came the wishes, the hopes, the dreams...
Plume closed her eyes.
From the depths of her mind wandered the melody... The song of her beloved, the only worded song she knew, and the one she would never forget. Could never forget. It came, to wrap her up in its warm arms, to remind her of all she lived for.
