Art Theft! Help! Peoples Characters Being Used!

Okay... so I pretty much loveee roleplaying and have visited many jcink sites. I had clicked on one that kind of stunned me for a minute, because not only did I see a lot of art that had been stolen and made into their own personal characters, I saw that they were being used for sexual and lewd roleplays. This is an 18+ site, but either way I got pissed when I saw that some of the art they used were actually from TEF and were STOLEN characters! Now they never claimed the art as their own or said in any way they created the art, they just claimed it and used it as characters. I need TEF, deviantart, I need anyone who is willing to try and stop them from taking more art as a few people were already bringing up art from TEF to use for their sexual roleplays! I don't want peoples art to be shown like this, and I bet you don't either. Mind lending a hand to help take down these people? We might no do much, but if it's really filled with mature 18+ people than maybe they might be understanding and bring it down.

Most of it is on the admins,

Most of it is on the admins, some of the characters he/she has have links underneath and about 3 of those have links to some of the characters used on TEF. Not only that I went through the chatbox and found they were discussing about using soem characters they found on TEF for roleplays.

Ya, I signed up today as I

Ya, I signed up today as I saw that they were pulling up images from deviantart on peoples oc's/art, and I felt upset as I follow some of the artists and they spend hours upon hours on their artwork. I signed up and discovered that the entire site is stealing loads upon loads of art. I also found that TEF was one of the victims.

Indeed, looking around in there it looks like they just Google search and take what they want and 'claim it' on the site. There's no rule against art theft on that site at all.

I'm not finding the Tef stuff though, or at least none that I'm familiar with

Report here, follow the information and link the infringements - best bet would be screenshotting where you can, I imagine. Either it'll be taken down or they'll be scared enough to do it themselves.

I saw them too. HBs was stolen from. Under some of the humans at the bottom of one of the longer posts, they have links to the TEF art stolen directly off DA.

I'll spread the word around on FurAffinity. There's a lot of furries being ripped off too.

Thanks for your guys' help, it irritates me that these people are doing this. I am reporting the site right away, and on top of that alerting the members who were stolen from on TEF and on deviantart. I suggest everyone do a thorough search of the site to make sure they haven't taken anything of yours. I'm hoping they will take it down, but some can be stubborn and they might abandon the site altogether after this.

Hey guys, don't only get a throwaway Email - you need a throwaway password. Be very careful. I've been an admin on Invisionfree and Zetaboard sites (which this forum is hosted by) and admins can see passwords in some cases.
IP addresses, too, but there's not much to be done about that without some know-how and wall-building.

I am simply staying logged in

I am simply staying logged in after registration, the password was simply a few common letters and numbers. Something I will only remember once to retype when registering XD I have been a admin as well, and it's true that they can see emails, passwords, pretty much nearly everything.

I agree, just collect as much info as you can. *I sound like a spy XD or a detective* let them recover a bit perhaps, but we can't just let them move on to this site with all the art and act like nothing happened.

I agree, the Crossstix one

I agree, the Crossstix one seems a bit snappy but I must admit he has his reasons to be. Both sides feel attacked, let's tone it downa bit and try to confront is in a mature and reasonable way, even if they are just taking the art and going site to site. Must remember all these people on that site are maybe 20, they have jobs and are probably exhausted XC

Yes true. I'm not mad at all actually. At first I was but they are taking it rather well (thank god..cause that is RARE). It just a "I'm tired and this is kinda silly " thing for me. But i am glad they are being somewhat civil. Soon so glad.

They just received the message and knew that it's something that needs to be done, and it's for the right reason as that art is not theirs and on nearly every piece in the description it says not for rping or for use by anyone else other than ____.

I know on FA they say when

I know on FA they say when you submit to the site, the art also becomes copyrighted to that site (or something along those lines), so using any IMGs off that site IS a chargeable offence. They CAN sue another website for IMG theft.

I agree, thank you all for

I agree, thank you all for helping. I just hated to see your guys' artwork being shown on a mating website. People can admire artwork, but they may not take it unless they have permission to do so. I just don't think they understand that these are actual characters that have been developed over years and some of the owners have connections and love these characters as if they were real sometimes, and the fact they took them without even realizing that is quiet disgusting and sad.

I'm so sorry this happened to some of the TEF community members (probably other places too but.. u know)
Though I am not sure any of my art was stolen, I am very glad you guys took the time to hound these cowardly thieves down, honestly the members whom committed the theft should be banned imo
