Among Long Stone Shadows

The air here is still and old, the rocks even older.
They rise like teeth, casting long shadows over you and the grass.
Cracks and ripples form spirals, half-formed faces in the cool grey slate.
Spirits raise the hairs on your neck, skin prickling as your eyes fall across the stone basin.
Shallow but wide, stained dark and pungent with the unmistakable taint of blood. Empty now, it looks hungry.
Littering the grass, tiny shards of black; twinkling shadows of dark stone.
Jagged, sharp edges; perfect for parting skin.

Will you call for him?

Queze can not simply come and go from The Forest as he pleases..
Should you desire Queze's presence in The Forest, for RP, or a plot,
a character will need to deliver a suitable offering to Quetzalcoatl.
Queze can of course, deliver offerings himself, should he desire.

This is very much a work in

This is very much a work in progress, but it would be a good idea to keep an eye on this if you want to know when Queze is in The Forest...yes, like right now! Smiling

To clarify, your character does not need to die...not that Queze would complain, but still, unless you want to, don't go throwing your deer at Quetzalcoatl like lemmings. lol

Feel free to RP here and if you RP as a group, only one character need offer blood. Think of it as an Aztec group discount or something.

Why do they desire blood is it so they won't wreak havok on those in this world or do they mere enjoy the blood.?

Faunet: Why do the others ask

Faunet: Why do the others ask for words, burned slips of paper, crops and wine? It is proof of devotion, a willingness to give in order to receive. At least, that is why my Aztec god asks..I make no designs to know the mind of any real Gods. Eye

Your words are wise dear

Your words are wise dear sir,but I can not help but wonder what pain this will bring.Forgive me I mean no disrespect to your Gods.I merely am trying to understand them, but in that process there is pain.A proof of there devotion you say,how much blood is necessary just a prick or an amount that would surrender me lifeless?

Faunet: The drops of scarlet

Faunet: The drops of scarlet muddy the earth, drawn along the ground like serpents to coil up and into the stone basin. With a flash, the offering ignites! Black smoke, thick and foul billows between the stones. It is hard to see, but as the smoke thins a man stands before you, tall and fit, adorned with ink and barbarous garb.

"Your offering pleases The Serpent and honors me, thank you...though I am sure I do not know you." He rolls muscled shoulders with a satisfying pop, blue eyes appraising you. "I have never met another human under these trees. Who are you?"

Kaoori: Omg xD that's perfect!

Brushing a hand over the wound it heals .She smiles and straitens her kimono back into place. The garb is made of silk and is adorned with silver butterflies to accent the dark blue.
Her own blue eyes take in the man before.Bowing her head slightly in greeting."You are correct this is I believe our first encounter,My name is Tazanna but if I may what is your name."she inquires

It had been a long time since

It had been a long time since she had seen her stoic friend. She missed him; she felt circumstances had driven them apart and for that she felt guilty. This was his place, she knew he could usually have been found here. Could he still?
There was one way to find out. She found a sharp spot on one of the tall stone pillars that rose from the playground, the three towering like sentinels together in the pouring rain. Wincing slightly, she pressed a foreleg against the spot, applying pressure until the skin finally gave and sliced. Blood began to pour. It mixed on the stone with the wet rain, and trailed down the length of her short leg.

She waited.

"Hello."

Faunet: An eyebrow quirks at

Faunet: An eyebrow quirks at the magical display, he is impressed. "Tazanna, hm." He rolls the name on his tongue, committing it to memory. He folds his arms across his chest, tilting his head in confusion. "You do not know me? This surprises me, I wouldn't expect a total stranger to make a blood offering for someone...on a whim?"

Kaoori: The stone sizzles and the blood sputters, burning away into black smoke that drifts through air and time. Following her scent, a red ribbon fluttering through the ethereal, he ran. The jungle crawlers and lofty canopy give way to oaks and birch, familiar rolling green hills. Stepping out from between the stones, he slithers down on one scaled knee, priestly formality.
"You honor The Serpent with this offering, Thank you, Kaoori." Standing upright his face splits with a smile and he laughs; "You are still so small!" He sweeps around her in a flurry of nuzzles, barely remembering not to crush her.

Vee: That's amazing! I'm going to work on a visual response, hopefully done later today. Smiling

She places a loosed strand of black hair behind her ear looking as confused as he did.
"On a whim you say that's a different thought, but one must give respect where respect is due>It's the natural order of thing.Regardless of knowing or not knowing if one does not give respect to all walks of life ,then surely consequences will ensue."she blushed slightly"It seems I have been rambling on again sorry"she crossed her right leg over her left and bites her lower lip.

At the sight of her old

At the sight of her old friend, Kaoori grinned, and bounded around, laughing and nuzzling in return. "I knew you would come. You are still so big." She sat beside him closely, an ear idly flicking rain away. "I have not seen you in some time, Queze. Tell me.. have you finally found a way home? Or.. have you found another place that you love? I, too, journeyed outside the forest. I found my old home.. I know the world is a big place. Did you find something you have been looking for?"

Faunet: He takes a moment to

Faunet: He takes a moment to mull over what she has said, then nods, more to himself than anything. "You are correct, respect is needed in all things. You are not of my people but you enact a ritual of great significance to me...what respect should I in turn show you? If there is something you require aid with or desire to know, I could perhaps assist."

Kaoori: Standing above her he enjoys the feeling of rain sheeting across his scales, running down the smooth contours of his mask. "Mmm yes I have returned home many times, walked different paths. Experienced 'could haves' and set right the 'should haves' of years gone by. Not all of it pleasant, not all paths lead to good places." He smiled down at his companion. "What is your home like, Kaoori. Is everyone small and blue as you are?"

She smilled to him "There is

She smilled to him "There is no need for you to reciprocate the gesture, what I seek can only be found in time. However long that may be.To ask you to assist would be ntirely selfish on my part.
But if you insist you can please me in another matter. You asked what respect you should show me,how about the respect of a friend"she offered her voice was sweet and kind.

Faunet: He smiles, a flash

Faunet: He smiles, a flash of teeth behind the clay snarl of his mask. "Hah, a friendship bought with blood. Very well, you may call me Queze." He settles himself on the ground, back resting against a cool expanse of stone. "Out of curiosity, what is it that you hope time will reveal?"

He had expected some request for dark magics, the secrets of The Serpent, or to be set loose. To cut a bloody swath through Tazanna's enemies...were he in her place he would have asked something more useful. Unless she was hoping to lure his secrets through a bond of friendship, that is what Queze's cynical master would have said, at least. Though she didn't really look the type.

She blushed slightly at his

She blushed slightly at his request
"Well Queze"She said pausing to see how his name sounded on her tongue.
"Each person goes through there life searching forsomething or rather someone. Now this person may have friends and family around them but it is sometihing else that crave, there other half or in other terms soul mate. My people are peaceful tribe we are strong and nurturing but we rarely fight because no one dares to destroy the balance.
Even though I am a warrior one must not forget that I have a heart that loves as well"
She looked away slightly embarrassed by her confession.

Faunet: Listening to her

Faunet: Listening to her words Queze found himself nodding in agreement, until his mind caught up with her meaning and he hesitated. "Oh..er." He found her embarrassment confounding, a similar tint to his own traitorous cheeks. Tapping his head lightly against the unforgiving rock behind him he dragged a palm across his face. Yes, a change of conversation was definitely in order. "I would not have guessed you a warrior. Are there so few men in your tribe?" 'Yesss; mention how few men are in her life, Queze, well done.' He pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed, pushing Ocelot's phantom criticisms to the back of his mind.

(Oh lol, Queze, how do you always get yourself into these scenarios?! You haven't been back more than a few hours and you've already got your foot in your mouth. xD)

{LOLNicely done Queze} She

{LOLNicely done Queze}

She chuckled and sat on the ground the coolness of the stone was nice.Seeing that he was trying to make an effort to change the topic ,she took no offence at his words.
"Hardly there are alot of men in our tribe as well as women but both genders are allowed the chance to become warriors"she shrugged smilling hopping she had eased him.
Kaoori's picture

Sitting closer to her friend,

Sitting closer to her friend, Kaoori would have loved to hear him talk more about his own homeland.. she would answer his question first, starting with another laugh.
"I'm afraid no one is as blue as home as me! That's why I'm living here. They're all afraid of me." She paused. "No, everyone at home is the same; a deep brown, but small. They live in mountains, and it's much like here. Except in the spring there are miles and miles of trees that bloom pink blossoms. It's beautiful. I do miss it, but this is now my home." She glanced up at him, silently waiting for him to tell about where he'd been, his own home.

Faunet: Queze was amazed at

Faunet: Queze was amazed at this, his previous nervousness almost forgotten. "But women are not as strong as men...if your tribe is as peaceful as you say, surely there is no need for women to fight. Would healing not be a better calling for one of your talents?" He gestures a hand at his shoulder, obviously in mention of her previous magical display when closing her knife wound. In his mind, to throw a woman into battle was to risk her life in vain. It was wasteful and disrespectful.

Kaoori: Mountains...miles of flowers. "Hmm, it sounds lovely. It must smell wonderful...heh, your homeland sounds so different from mine. The jungle has a thousand ways to kill you and a thousand more ways to weaken you so something else can kill you for it. There are plants, long and deep, absolutely foul smelling. They eat bugs and frogs that hop in and become trapped." He chuckles as though it is the most amusing of ideas. He looks off into the rain, his eyes a thousand miles away. "It isn't cold like this forest, and the trees are much closer, littered with strangle vines...the stags here with their grand antlers, hehe, they would become so tangled! Very easy prey."

Vee: In the surreal

Kaoori's ears flattened as

Kaoori's ears flattened as she listened. His jungle sounded like a frightening place. A place where a little deer had no chance of surviving. Her eyes widened.
"Stags.. easy prey? And plants... that eat other living creatures? How frightening Queze... how do you survive..?"

A white stag, plumed with red

A white stag, plumed with red and gold feathers and numerous tribal tattoos. He walked about the rocks and noticed a familiar sign in an alien forest. His jaw dropped and he raced away for a victim.

He returned several moments later with a dove, whose throat was quickly slashed by the white stag.

"Please accept my humble offering, my Lord."

(Aztec deers unite!)

Kaoori: He chuckles, taking

Kaoori: He chuckles, taking a moment to shake droplets from the feathers of his head-dress. "You don't. At least, not forever. Not like here. Everything there dies eventually, even me. It was an unavoidable end to all the paths I walked, be it from a Conquistador's bullet or ceremonial blade...ah but this must trouble you Kaoori. Death is something I have been conditioned to accept, my own included." His voice softens and he settles down to sit at her side. "Still unpleasant though, haha."

Ryff: The doves white feathers curl and ignite, its blood searing the basin. Black smoke plumes and coils about the stones and you feel another nearby. "You know The Serpent's rite well, I thank you for it." The green stag circles the basin, inspecting the last of the dove as it sinks to ash. "Very fitting indeed...and those tattoos. Hm?" He watches the stag, taking his measure. Infinitely curious at the possibilities this one presents. "What are you?"

He watches the dove as if he

He watches the dove as if he had done this before, not seeming terribly frightened but rather respectful of the dove as it burned. The alabaster one startled slightly when the serpentine fellow actually appeared. "Not sure, now," he replied to Queze's question, after a moment of shocked silence.
"...I was an emperor once. I am Monteczuma."

Ryff: The smells of burning

Ryff: The smells of burning skin, thatch, charred stone, and gunpowder rise in Queze's memory. He would have never expected this! With a gentle sweep of a leg, he bows, the brow of his mask skimming the dust. "What do you require of me, Monteczuma? Why do you call on Quetzalcoatl-Kiss, body and high priest of The Serpent?" So so long since he'd said the title aloud, let alone to another who knew it's significance. Straightening he wondered just how it was the emperor had ended up here, of all places.

He too bowed, an awkward

He too bowed, an awkward action in this unusual new form. "Guidance." He rose and tossed his head to get that plume of feathers out of his eyes. Scanning the Aztec deity over once or twice, he continued. "For it seems that you have been here far longer than I. How did you get here, O Quetzalcoatl-Kiss?"
