Mmm... Forest

I love the smell of fallen pine needles warmed by the sun and the sounds of birds singing happily overhead. Fills my little fawn heart with joy.

Today was a wonderful day. I ran, I danced, I changed Eli's pelt many times.

I think dancing was my favorite! Smiling

I'm still trying to learn how best to communicate with the other dear. I'm so young and new! I hope they don't find me too cheeky! I wonder if they mind us fawns practicing our forest magic on them?

Perhaps tomorrow I will run as far as I can as fast as I can! I just love to run.

Sometimes this vow of mine...

[=white][i]...can be quite tiring. And a peaceful walk meant to observe one's surroundings can be interrupted by the calls of other deer. Calls not of joy or even a shouted conversation. No. Some feeling told me that these were calls of a different sort. I could not trust my "gut instinct" however. I had to see with my own eye what was going on.
And thus my peaceful walk to the pond was ended.
Rushing back to the ruined stone building, I could see a small herd had gathered closer together. But this was not a herd meant for protection. This was a herd divided. A quarrel had broken out, with three combatants, as neutral deer not choosing a side went about trying to halt it. I hesitated a moment, waiting to see if it might stop so I need not interfere.
It did not. And appeared capable of going on for some time.
I stepped in, assisting a brightly-colored doe in blocking the attacks of those fighting. Eventually it broke up, and I went on my way again. But not for long, for I seemed to catch the attention of a fawn that lacked a name. And what a rambunctious fawn they were! Causing fights with deer much bigger than it, be they stag, fawn, or doe. Even trying to convince me to lower my own antlers!
Though when I made it clear I would not partake in their play of fighting, they would simply nuzzle me instead.
What a strange young one this was.
It felt almost as if I were scolding a child of my own.
...
Such an odd thought.
I had even required the assistance of a dark-pelted doe of royal blue. Lady Kaoori if I am not mistaken.
The fawn had attempted to start a match with one of the combatants of earlier - one of pale white fur I believe I recognized - who wished to have no part of it. Even though being bothered by just a young one, they fled.

The violence ended not long after that moment, thankfully. I did not wish to have to step between more antlers.
And to think that first fight was mainly between two does.

A lament over spilled blood

[=crimson]Do I even want to reflect on this past week? It was no more than madness and bloodshed. Tethering of flesh and bone, and unheard cries for understanding...

I understand that in a forest so blatantly ruled by the false gods, and their cultist servants who call their selves devout and light, those who understand the truth are fated to only be shunned and scorned. Where does the misery begin, and where does it end?

Father’s day had come and gone. I spent that day primarily alone in the birch forest. I couldn't even face Lagho that day. Heavy hearted, I brooded there for hours before wandering to the lake. It's funny in a way... One can come to the lake while it's abandoned, and sure enough a few minutes later it would be crowded. Virgil and some of his herd had come and joined me. My mind was elsewhere, and I didn't much pay attention to whatever conversation we had. We say at the bank for a while, until a permanent devout pelted stag... Wudin.... appeared heading our way. Virgil stood to converse with him, and I continued to brood.

I left the area, never minding Wudin's death happening perhaps a moment after I left the scene.

I had seen Wudin before, in many parts of the forest, but we never spoke. Perhaps its better we hadn't, anyway. From what I know, we were alike, yet opposite in many ways.

Two days later, the rain was drowning out any potential upbeat spirit. I scarce desired to so much as lift my head. My awareness drifted in and out for some time. I wasn't feeling quite myself... I was healthy, but it seemed the weight of the moon was upon me. Perhaps knowing myself as the father of a dead family has left a vulnerability... Bah.

Moxy: Deer Update

Condition: Perfect, extremely hyper
Thinking: Play with me play with me PLAY WITH ME!!!
Wishing: That other deer would PLAY WITH HER!
Feeling: Fit to burst with extreme happiness and energy
Activity: Roaring and racing around so loudly that she's probably going to wake the entire forest
Wearing: Default set (she only just grew up)
Physical Health: 100% (if you could go higher than that, she'd be 1000%!)
Mental Health: 100%- Just barely though because she's so hyper her mind is twisting

Hello Mother, Hello Father

Hello everyone! I'm only on my second day as a fawn, but I've had the good fortune to meet a kind pair of adult deer. They played with me (a fawn named Lillu) for quite a while, and in my head I've taken to referring to them as "Mom and Dad".

Unfortunately, I don't know how to post a picture in this blog, or even if I'm posting this where I want to be, so I'll have to rely on verbal description to identify them. "Mom" had a marbled coat, warm brown with white on the front of her neck and golden streaks and spots on her sides. Her antlers curved backward and were light gray, with circular loops in the tips. "Dad" was also brown and silky-looking, with bands of lighter brown, and very large antlers. Both of my "parents" had masks that lowered the tone of their bellow and had dark blue patches over their eyes.

"Dad" had to leave before long, and left us at the ruins. "Mom" stayed with me for quite awhile longer, and we spent a good amount of time changing my pelt, antlers, and mask in the woods near the pond. Afterward, Mom sat in the shade of a willow by the pond's edge. I sat with her a while, but eventually got impatient and bored and went off to play by myself. I returned and stayed with her for a while longer before leaving the forest.

"Mom's" pictogram was a square with a small curlicue at the top, in the middle, and "Dad's" was a large curlicue positioned vertically, with a curve and maybe some other lines (it was hard to see between his antlers). My pictogram is two downward loops on either side, with a bar across the top and in the middle a vertical line down the left with a diagonal line up to the other loop at its tip, with a tiny vertical line hanging down from the center of the bar.

Here's hoping this sounds familiar to someone.

Anyone wanna do an art trade?

Cato is bored and needs amusement.......and she has a drawing itch.

But just one trade......maybe later I'll take a few more.

It can be anything, any animal....people...eh..I can sorta do people...they look good enough.......but no machines.....and no really lovey-dovey mushy stuff, I'm not terribly great at that. Other than that....no limits.

Whoever I trade with, for your half you may look through
my gallery and whatever character I claim as my own you may draw and you may reresent them any way that you wish.

You don't need to make it highly detailed, I may do so with yours but that's just cuz I'm bored and I can't help it ^^;

Ready....set....go! first come first serve!

The Endless Forest:|| About the Screensaver...

How on earth do I change it?
I do not like the new screensaver at all.
I mean, the game takes a REALLY long time to load as it is. '~' The screensaver takes twice as long, and I don't really want it.

Any way to change it? I can't remember how.
