I've been thinking, it's time for another contest! The last one I ran went really well, and I have an idea for a new one. This contest requires you making a video that represents your deer!

THIS ENTRY IS SUBJECTED TO CHANGE. PLEASE SEE UPDATES AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST WHEN THEY OCCUR.

Rules:
1, You must be a member of the dA TEF club.
2. Make a video! Your video must include 2 things:
- Your deers name
- Your deers pictogram
Everything else is up to you!
Do NOT include any text other then the name of your deer in your video. Your video should tell the story of what you think your deer is without text. You may put some description about the video in the description box, like why you chose certain clips or music.
3. Upload your video to a video hosting site, like Youtube.
4. You MUST put all credits in your video description. This includes song, movie, and image credits. If you do not credit, your video will be disqualified. For example, you use a clip from your favourite movie that happens to represent your deer. Credit the movie in the description.
5. Post the video link here and it will be added to the entry list. You can also make it a video response to my sample video so they are easier to keep track of, but that isn't mandatory. Entries will be judged on creativity, originality and effort. The judging process is still being thought out.

But Jen! I have no idea how to make a video!
Well, this is a great chance to learn now isn't it? Trust me, it's not difficult. Almost all computers have a free video editing software on it, Microsoft has Window Movie Maker (if you don't have it, you can download it by clicking that), which works great. If you need help with editing, look around google and the help section of the program.

Next you'll need a program that records the game, that's where the free program called FRAPS comes in. It's extremely easy to use! Download it, click on the Movies tab, set the frame rate on the left hand side to 25 (that's what I use), make a video capture hotkey (I use the letter 'G'), and you're ready to record! Just open it up before you start playing and press the hotkey when you want to record. Your video will then go into your Fraps folder. Load them into your editing program and away you go.

Video Tips:
- Hold the CTRL key when you record, so the interface where are your icons are goes away. It makes it look neater, unless you need the interface when communicating with other deer!
- Save your videos at high quality, if you can. I know some programs only have one setting, but high quality goes look nicer. You won't get points deducted or anything like that if you don't though, don't panic.
