Weird voices..

Sithrim's picture
Okay.
So, this is gonna be weird. But, huh, I cannot think about any other place to talk about this. It's about some strange happenings that kinda' freak me out "a little" inside. Sometimes, it's like I can hear a voice speaking to me in my head. This is rare though. Last time it really happened, it was like 5 weeks ago, Saturday morning when I was alone at home, feeling terribly sick (fever and such, but nothing serious). Before that, it happened to me when I was like... 13 or so - so 3 years ago. I was playing Age of Empires on my computer when a woman was constantly asking me 'if I was sure' about something I didn't even know... it haunted me so much that I had to pause the game for a bit to try and make it stop.
Last time it happened, it was more like a man, I don't know... but it was feeding a sort of fear in me, I was becoming so stressed out I had to lay on the couch to distract me a bit.

Why do I post this now... huh, because I just remembered, and because the woman was asking me if "I was sure" again, minutes ago. Just once - so that's why last time was 5 weeks ago. Normally, it sticks to my head and it's hard to make it stop.
I can't even tell you in which language it speaks... I tend to say it's more an english-like idiom... but I don't know...
I'm like shivering to no end right now, writing this.

I know this may sound really creepy but it still torments me like hell. What the fuck is this? What does it mean? Or does it mean something?
The thing that strikes me the most is that question... most of the time I'm randomly playing or drawing when it happens; it comes for no reason!

geez... I'm sorry, I guess it had to become "public", one day or another ;_;

Sometimes weird stuff just

Sometimes weird stuff just happens...

i think I may have experienced that sort of ting a few times...I usually hear something that sounds like my name and i have to stop whatever I'm doing, turn off all sound and listen.

It usually happens when I'm alone in my house o-O

there was also the maniacal laughter a friend and I heard while we were camping last summer >.>

that...I blame the Oujia Board for that DX

I honestly think you're okay though, so I wouldn't worry ^^

Hearing voices isn't a new

Hearing voices isn't a new thing, it's been happening to people for centuries, if that makes you feel any better. Heck, authors and artists claim and do hear muses/characters all the time. What I mean to say is unless it's really unsettling you, to the point you feel something is wrong, then don't feel you need to run out and get your head checked.
However if these voices start telling you to burn things or scoop people's eyes out while they sleep, disregard my advice and get immediate help...and a straight jacket, those are always handy.

Phantom' @ lol I'm glad /or

Phantom' @ lol I'm glad /or not/ to know I'm not the only one.
Tera' @ Hm true.. I'm not doubting of my sanity or so, lol, but it can be really... disturbing. Because they ask me "if I'm sure" in a really mean/cruel way, like if they were trying hard not to laugh at me. o_o
Rain'@ Well no, not something that I've been thinking about for so long... I think. :/

Have you considered asking it

Have you considered asking it "Am I sure about what?"

It's worth a shot, and maybe you'll finally be able to give an answer that satisfies whatever it is so it leaves you be.

... TEf deleted my post

... TEf deleted my post before I could post it... -.- well I don't wanna write everything again, here a brief summary:
-had a fever one time, very high (I never have high fever normally)
-heared voices but didn't understand anything, I didnt feel like myself then, I thought I would go crazy
-you may say it's because of the fever but I was really scared

-I more and more have hallucinations where I see things that aren't here (call me crazy I don't care)

Are you tired? When I'm just

Are you tired? When I'm just about to fall asleep I'll have little auditory hallucinations like that. If you're drawing and playing games while it's happening maybe it just means that you're spacing out and have relaxed your mind so much it's slipping in and out of the waking state?
Munkel's picture

I would also think it's

I would also think it's because of being tired, because having a fever, playing games I don't know... makes you tired and lets the mind do strange things >_>
Ephra's picture

Yeah, it is possible to

Yeah, it is possible to remain conscious while your body is going to sleep. Or it could be a very short episode of sleep- microsleep, which is caused by fatigue

edit: sorry to keep bumping this but I wanted to mention, if it is microsleep you'll generally think you've been awake the whole time, and when it happens you go straight into REM sleep - the dreaming stage. So it's possible to have hallucinations like that.

I don't want to jump to the

I don't want to jump to the conclusion of "paranormal activity," but that's always a possibility.
It could be happening because it seems to happen when your brain isn't really there, like when you're tired or zoning out while playing a game.

If it's something paranormal, then asking it the question Sunflare suggested will most likely get you some results. Either an answer (and you'd probably pee yourself. Or.. at least I would xDD) or it will stop.
If you're tired, then by all means sleep! Always allow yourself a few hours away from the computer before heading off to bed; the lights from any kind of screen, whether it's computer or the tv, will play tricks with your brain that can make you see or feel weird things. *bad explanation ;;*
Aegle's picture

I would suggest you try

I would suggest you try getting alot of sleep in the next few days. This may help these voices subside. I have had many instances of micro sleep, it is scary as hell. I hear things. I see things. I can't tell whether it is real or a figment of my imagination.

Hi, I'm not an expert of any

Hi, I'm not an expert of any thing so this is only some thoughts:

1: Take a week out of using the pc let your brain relax.
2: Get 8 hour min sleep a night.
3: Speak to your doctor. You may have an underline condtion
4: Try not to think about it when it happens this will cause more stress (chemical in the brain over load) raising your blood presure and cause you to go in to a painic attack.
5: You may be a magnet for spirits this can be dangerous (I'm being honest) If you know any prays recite these after hearing the voices Th full thing no mumbling. (should help no matter what faith)
6: Keep talking to people about it.

I hope this helps I to have heard voices, Some times i find they have importaint things to say that can help guide life, other time they need to be ignored and controled.

The more you worry to strong they wil get. So please take care .

*shakes head* Some of these

*shakes head* Some of these responses...

There's something called Hypnagogia. I experience it frequently, due to my narcolepsy. What you're describing sounds very much like it. Not sure if this article mentions it, but it doesn't always happen when you're on the brink of sleep.

"Hypnagogic imagery is often auditory or has an auditory component. Like the visuals, hypnagogic sounds vary in intensity from faint impressions to loud noises, such as crashes and bangs (exploding head syndrome). People may imagine their own name called or a doorbell ringing. Snatches of imagined speech are common. While typically nonsensical and fragmented, these speech events can occasionally strike the individual as apt comments on – or summations of – their thoughts at the time. They often contain word play, neologisms and made-up names. Hypnagogic speech may manifest as the subject’s own ‘inner voice’, or as the voices of others: familiar people or strangers. More rarely, poetry or music is heard."

I don't have time right now

I don't have time right now to answer to each one of you but thank you for this load of informations, I'll keep that in mind. Just wanted to point out that I had no fever when I was playing Age of Empires lol |D

There is maybe something that may explain why I hear a woman and a man, now I'm realising it. But I think it is too hard to explain or even for you to believe, at least I don't know if you would but huh... you would get like "omg Sithrim IS crazy >D"

I don't know you or your

I don't know you or your medical history but I can tell you that this, as well as other pychological oddities, happen to me when I take certain medications. Examples like Zertec, Tylenol, most anti-anxiety meds, anything with serotonin in it [anti-depressants], anti-pyreyics[to lower a fever], and almost all anti-biotics/anti-virals. I know I'm not necissarily 'normal' but perhaps the medication you were taking while you were sick could have caused something?

Just a little thought. <:

(No subject)

<_< nheee. I can sort of understand how you feel, since I'm still recovering from something similar. If that happens more often be sure to tell your parents about it, or consult a doctor. Or at least open up to someone, other than here on the net.

Whoa. This is about a 8 on the deja vu scale. Whenever I get sick, I have a not-so dream where I'm lying in bed awake with my eyes open, but it sounds like people are yelling at me and I don't know what they're saying but it's like so high-pitched that it has made me cry before. It's scary. I dunno if this has any relevence to what you're talking about, though, but it only happens to me when I'm sick and usually at night. o-O

Thing is ... it's really rare, so I don't know. Maybe it's just a spontaneous brain disturbation or something..
