A young fawn hadn't took a bath or groomed himself since his arrival to the forest and both his odour and looks clearly expressed that. He had collected an impressive arsenal of twigs and leaves on his fur, especially his fluffy mane was a mess. There were tangles here and there but it didn't seem to concern the fawn. He wasn't aware of problems which his ungroomed fur could cause.

Jade-colored eyes observed a bug crawling on a fern. He didn't remove his gaze for a second as long as the bug kept moving. Once it stopped the fawn chomped both the fern leaf and the bug - ending up spitting everything out. Mouth wide open the fawn starred the wet mess beside his feet bit confused. The bug seemed confused too and in a panic it started crawling away in the grass. The light fawn took it as a challenge and started chomping the grass, trying to catch the bug.

Every once in a while the bug managed to escape from the fawn's eyes, resulting the fawn frolicking around trying to find his new friend - or a lunch, he wasn't sure about it either. Excited cries escaped from his mouth as he spotted the bug and continued his mission to catch it.

A young buck jumped out of the Crying Idols stream and shook away as much excessive water as he could. He had to bathe more often because of his wounds and the fact that he wasn't able to sit still for all that long or not roll in flowers. But it wasn't a bother, he didn't mind taking more bathes than usual; he does play in the pond often anyways.

Still dripping water, he began his trip back the the Ruins, then paused. There was a small fawn chopping away at the grass. It didn't really look like it was eating any of it, though. He walked up closer to the little one and noticed that sticks and everything else was caught in the fawns fur. By the smell of him it was all accumulated over a long period of time. He grumbled lowly. Apparently this fawn didn't have anyone to groom him and possibly didn't know how to do it himself.

It clearly wasn't the bug's brightest day - after avoiding playful fawn's attempts to eat it the bug finally spread its tiny wings and took off. Bright jade eyes widened and didn't let the flying little victim away from their sight. Its flight was bumpy and each bump in its course made the fawn drop and lift his head again.

His fluff-framed head stopped moving for a little moment when his eyes spotted a stranger starring him. He was about to ignore the stranger to continue his play with the bug but it had gotten away in such a brief moment. The fawn flapped his ears a bit checking his surroundings for a last time and then frolicked towards the stranger like he never had a bug to catch.

He stopped right in front of the other deer and poked his nose into white neck fur of the skull-faced stranger, loudly sniffing their scent.

The poor thing... The buck

The poor thing... The buck thought as it became clear that it was the fawn's target. He silently watched, amused, as the little deer chased after the tiny flying creature. He huffed as the insect made its escape at the fawn's distraction.

Ashe was surprised how easily the fawn took his appearance as he trotted his way over to him and proceeded to push his nose in his fur. He has seen older deer be easy of their approach to him as well, but they usually have antlers or something to defend themselves. This little thing didn't even seem a year, nothing close to beginning to grow antlers.

The buck returned the gesture, lowering his head to the fawn's fluffed up head, ignoring the odor coming from them, and chuffed. He even had twigs and other forest litter up here. Did the fawn not feel them? Or did he just not care? Grabbing a hold of a twig, he brought his head up, and let the twig fall to the ground.

The white fawn carefully

The white fawn carefully sniffed the skull-faced deer, just like he had seen others doing it. Hastily he backed just a couple of small dancing steps and bowed. Naturally his bow wasn't very elegant or even easily done, he wasn't too familiar with doing properly it yet but it didn't bother him.

As he performed his gestures he felt something tugged from his fur. It didn't hurt but he gave out a small surprised voice. What was the other one doing?! Seeing a twig dropping on the ground he tilted his head again, lifting his gaze to the skullface's eyes and stared them confused. Where did the twig come from?

So it seemed his question was

So it seemed his question was answered. It seemed the fawn was unaware of all the things he has picked up if going by the little white fawn's confusion when he dropped the twig meant anything.

Reaching out, again, towards the wild fur on the kid's head, he picked another one out, cooing all the while to reassure the little one. It seems he has made it his mission to help this one get clean.
Kohva's picture

Another small confusion noise

Another small confusion noise slipped out; did that twig come from him? How could that be? The fawn flung his head side to side, up and down to see was he growing twigs. He spotted some leaves on his back and the fawn was quite sure they weren't there before. How strange.

Getting a second twig away from his fur the fawn lifted his head high, all determined. He slid off from the skullface's front side to their right side, clearly checking the bigger deer for twigs as well. Maybe there were some to pick off, too so he could return the favor.

With swift little steps the fawn went around the skullface, then returning in front of them. There wasn't anything wrong with the other deer, except for some reason they were really wet. Is that normal, either? He bleated jade eyes locked to the skull eyesockets.

I never realized how hard it is to play a small kid; I have no idea what is going inside their head. :'''DD

Watching the fawn walk around

Watching the fawn walk around him, inspecting him, he had to wonder if he though this was normal. Of course it wasn't... But then again, it could be the forest's normal. He had seen a fawn growing fungi from it's pelt.

This time when the kid caught his gaze and gave him a quizzical look he titled his head; he didn't understand what was wrong. Surely the fawn had seen deer that didn't have twigs and leaves caught in their coat. He then remembered that he had just finished taking a bath and was still wet. That was probably what he was wondering about.

He shook his head, letting little water droplets go in every direction. He wondered if taking him to the Crying Idol was a good idea. It was apparent that the kid didn't know what to do with water but possibly drinking it. He took a few steps away from the fawn and in the direction of the stream before stopping, waiting to see if the fawn would follow.

It is a bit difficult, but I think you're doing great. He's adorable!

Few drops landed on his sensitive nose and he giggled a bit, rearing softly and threw his front legs around. That felt funny! The fawn chuffed eagerly and ruffled his mane as well as he just could, getting couple of leaves off also.

Those just few steps away got the young fawn on alert; was the other one leaving? No? Good! He hurried next to the skullface, sure to stay close to him. It had been a while since he had spent time with anybody so he really wanted to follow this fellow as long as he just could.

: D
I almost find him a bit annoying, most likely because I can't really follow his line of thought.

The fawn seemed to like the

The fawn seemed to like the little water drops easily enough, but that could change with bodies of water. That was one reason why he had decided to take the fawn to the stream instead of the pond; it was smaller so it wouldn't over excite the little one.

Happy to see the other follow him, Ashe continued his journey back to the Crying Idol, walking slowly as not to trip the other up. The fawn didn't seem to have a problem when he had walked up to him or around him, but he had a feeling that if he gave into sprinting the fawn would not like that.

Arriving at the idol and stream he paused, looking down at the fawn, before stepping down the stream's steeply sloping bank. The buck turned back to the fawn and lightly mooed at him.
-----
Ah yeah, I had that problem with Ashe at first, still do sometimes.

The fawn stood on the bank,

The fawn stood on the bank, eyeing the stream in front of him. He wasn't totally sure how to react; it was just water. You drink water, it can't be bad for you. The big rock was a totally different thing though. Sliding down a bit on the steep bank he approached the crying rock his posture uncharacteristically low. The white child observed carefully how water ran out of the statue's empty eyes; he was totally fine with skull-faced deer and other creatures but this thing didn't seem to live. But it cried. His small head couldn't process thought.

Without any warning he turned around quickly, trying to get away from the statue as soon as he could. His hooves couldn't get a grip on the wet grass soon enough so the fawn slid right down the bank, ending up plumping in the stream.

He watched the fawn closely

He watched the fawn closely as the little one adventured down the bank. Everything seemed fine, but then the fawn began to cower. He turned to where the fawn was looking and only saw the Crying Idol. What was the fawn afraid of?

The sound of quick movement brought his attention back to the fawn. The young one was trying to hurry back up the bank, but was having a difficult time doing so. He felt bad for bringing the fawn here when he fell back into the water.

Ashe lowered his head to the fawn and cooed at him before lightly pushing his head to the fawn's side, trying to help him to stand back up.

The white child sat there, in

The white child sat there, in the stream, looking both confused and a bit terrified. He didn't really understand what had happened, just a second ago he was standing and now he was all wet. He blinked his eyes, staring the other deer like asking for an answer.

He stood up with the skullface's help. He tried to mimic their cooing, somewhat succeeding. It didn't sound exactly right but it was clear enough to understand what noise he tried to make. The fluffy fawn pressed himsefl against the skullface's legs, continuing cooing.

Water in the stream wasn't very deep but it reached his stomach easily. Cooing got a bit more silent as the fawn stared the everchanging surface of the stream. His mane was drenched and wisps of fluffy fur were glued to his body and face, making him look even smaller than usually.

The buck nuzzled the small

The buck nuzzled the small fawn as it pressed up against him and repeated the noise he had made. He seemed to have calmed down from what ever had frightened him and caused him to panic. For that, he was thankful.

The fawn's cooing becoming quiet, made him begin to wonder if the fawn was now scared of the water. Watching him look down at the water, it didn't really seem like it, it just seemed like the kid was fascinated by the water's surface, but he was never quite sure of other's thoughts.

He got what he was hoping for though; a lot of the the dirt and grime and washed off of the fawn's white coat. All that was left was to take out the forest debris that clung to the mane... Which he should have tried to do before getting in the water. He huffed.
Kohva's picture

The child seemed like he had

The child seemed like he had shut down; not really reacting. Inside his young mind he tried to connect things, little by little. After a moment he lifted his wet head, huffing couple of times. He didn't get the hang of the situation so he wanted to move on from it.

Mixing huffing and cooing he escaped from the stream with a little jump, landing on the bank. He almost tripped but was luckily able to place his hooves again this time. The fawn turned to look at the skullface, dropping his head to his side. From the corner of his eye he caught a sight of water dropping drown his fur. He flinched, pulling his neck back quickly; this resulted some more water dropping from his fur.

Slightly open mouth formed a wide smile and his eyes started to shine with excitement. Legs began moving the child around, jumping and frolicking again as the child laughed when water danced off from his fur. He leapt back to the stream, inviting the skullfaced to join with a loud coo and a headbutt on their side.

Ashe was having a hard time following this kid's thoughts. One minute it seemed like he was removing himself from the world and the next he comes back full swing wanting to play. Thinking back, he remembers being told that he was sort of like that when he first woke up here.

He let out a loud hum when the fawn leapt back into the stream, splashing him, making his earlier thoughts go to the back of his mind. The head-butt to his side got him excited to play with the white pelt child. The buck, giving a small trill of delighted warning, did a little jump, sending a small water spray up in the air.

The child followed the lead and jumped too, trying to get water to fly around. Every time he managed to get splash high he laughed brightly, frolicking up and down the stream and circling around the skullfaced playmate.
Couple of times he tripped on his own legs and fell into water but got up as quickly as he had fallen. His whole fur was soaked, there was no big signs of his untidy looks left anymore.

The blue stag appeared out of

The blue stag appeared out of nowhere. Maybe not that very much out of nowhere since he had left his spot at the Ruins to run around the Forest. He had done that because of two reasons. Firstly, out of habit. Secondly, and in this case even more importantly, the boredom wrapped its claws around him. To free himself he knew he had to move and that was enough since during his laps around the place, he always saw something interesting or met someone he knew or even didn’t. It didn’t matter that much, at least something was going on.

This time he got the wind of his friend’s scent. Ash. For some dudes it was an unpleasant scent. Well, probably everyone prefers flowers over a smell of something burnt. However, Mandel got used to it and he had only good connotations with it, so far at least. excited for the meeting, he followed the scent, quickening his pace. The closer he got, the stranger seemed the scent to him. It was ash but ash…with something? Close to the Crying Idol and to the two deer at the same time, he kept looking above the stream. Not noticing the others, he learnt that someone was down by getting a fair amount of water splashed onto his mask.

“What a fresh and a bit cold greeting”, he said, trying to shake off the water drops from his mask to make sure that the deer he was talking to was indeed Ashe.
