it's almost 2am and I'm too

it's almost 2am and I'm too amused at the idea of a badger cub suddenly meeeeeehing like a fawn

Never knew I needed that in

Never knew I needed that in my life until now.

Remember the ninja duck everyone hears and never sees in TEF? That, is a perfect unlockable.

Afraid there is not much more

Afraid there is not much more I could do myself. I don't really hold weight anywhere else and I broadcasted on DA, Twitter, and Facebook.

I am on a bunch of Discords, but I don't think anyone is really interested in TEF. I could certainly try.

It probably would have helped

It probably would have helped if the whole funding project would have bern a bit better planned. A lot of random outsider people will not help fund a project like the endless forest unless they can easily see what it is about and what is in it for them.

From the start, all perks should have had images to show what you are getting when you pledge.
The "road map" should have also bern displayed from the start.
Images of what the new endless forest in unreal will look like is what is truly missing the most out of everything! Like, I am not even sure if the graphics will even be upgraded. And if that is the case, ut will be that much harder to get random people that don't know about the ebdless forest to pledge. I'm sorry, but you also have to keep other campaigns in mind, what they asked for and what they gave for their pledge prices (like lost ember for example).
Besides all the physical perks are expensive and need to be paid extra.

Anyway, the campaign feels way too rushed, especially if you wanted and needed help from non endless forest players. The competition is giant, so presentation is so very important.

^ I am not disagreeing by any

^ I am not disagreeing by any means at what you've commented, there's actually many points I agree on. But I think it's too late to bring this stuff up, since the campaign is nearing its end now.

I am aware that is too late

I am aware that is too late now, but that doesn't mean that there can never be a campaign like this again in the future where they can learn from their mistakes.

I'd rather leave critique now and let the creators of the game know where they might have gone wrong. I think they just might be discouraged after not being able to reach their goals, but it is not the fault of the game itself, but rather how and when the campaign was set up.

Endless Forest is an amazing game, but getting new people into it and having people that never played it getting to donate is a difficult story.

True, the campaign is mainly

True, the campaign is mainly aimed at people who have played the game. Maybe they played it long ago and loved it... Maybe they'd like to see it continue. When I asked myself did I want to keep The Endless Forest online after all these years my answer to myself was a resounding YES. Now, I have my own reasons for this. I know everyone who gives to the campaign has their own reasons too.

The Endless Forest will not suddenly become a game "for everybody" or a videogame in any traditional sense. I do not see it as a videogame at all. If we are successful in recreating the game in a new engine there won't be much change. It is an artistic project for us and we let you inhabit it and find your own fun and meaning inside the world. We want you to trust in us, as you have so far, in playing. That's all.

There is no right or wrong in this. If the game does not convince then I do not think I can do more. People who want to see the game continue, we hope you will contribute. But we by no means want you to feel obligated to do so.

You know, when we first

You know, when we first designed The Endless Forest the main idea behind it was "A world that is always online and that we know is always there even if we don't visit... It lives inside us. And when we do go there it is a space for dreams. Your computer falls asleep and you wake up as a deer in a forest."

Perhaps for you the endless forest is something else. That's important. But this is what it is for me.

As far as youtubers went...

As far as youtubers went... Too bad extra credits was not poked if they'd like to showcase this game. As far as you can follow their videos, (i haven't watched in ages?) they seem very glad about games that are not just simple fun but also blurr into artistic enjoyment.

And i think it would be an interesting pitch how the players were able to communicate in this game through all those limited activities.

We have done this kind of

We have done this kind of thing a lot, marketing for our work etc. youtubers would not have made much difference. Seriously, the only thing that matters is peoples willingness to give who know the game already.

Auriea, thank you for your

Auriea, thank you for your responses!

I think a lot of fear and doubt could be assuaged through some answers to questions in the Crowdsourcing blog.

Anyone know what's the cause

Anyone know what's the cause of the sudden influx of donations? We've risen a few hundred in only a day. It's really cool.

I got a newsletter Email from ToT earlier in the day, that might be it.

I put the link on StumbleUpon yesterday, too, but I seriously doubt that has anything to do with it because it still only has one like (mine!) lol.

Hmmm.. Not sure why I

Hmmm.. Not sure why I didn't think about this before, but what about letting mini deer get pelts like normal deer? If that would be possible with a new engine.

I know it was posted on the

I know it was posted on the Meadow Steam forum earlier today so that might be it too.

@Draak Yeah I think that's

@Draak Yeah I think that's the cause because that was posted 18 hours ago and since then 26 donations have been made. Before the 18 hours there were only a couple of donations a day. It could also be that since the funding is ending soon people are more desperate to donate.

Woah... Might & Delight

Woah... Might & Delight actually donated €1000!

Wow! That's really cool of Might & Delight to do!

Amazing! I didn't realize

Amazing! I didn't realize they were actually inspired by TEF! I just figured the similarities were coincidental. That's really awesome of them to do that ;w;
