Anywho, the only thing I can reccomend is to just get a typing lesson CD or something... I tried it though, and it didn't really work out thanks to my short attention span ;; That's all I got, though...

I typed with just my index fingers until 12th grade. That was when I took a class called Speednotes, where the second half was all typing. I was too stubborn to learn before that, and I've typed properly ever since. |D I never did like those "learn to type" computer programs. It's like knowing that if I didn't I wouldn't pass the class is what motivated me to learn properly.
But if I'm forced to use one hand (holding something in the other hand, like a sandwich), I use random fingers without any real method.

I use all of my fingers when I need them :B

That's how I learned. Super-old program that OWNS. It's so much fun.

I highly suggest 'Kewala's TypeQuick Adventure'. Lawl it's really childish but it taught me how to touchtype, which I now do at around 180 words per minute when I'm relaxed, with 97% accuracy. It's been such a huge benefit for me, and I recommend it highly to anyone if you want to learn in a way that's kinda... Whacky. You get to ride Emus and shizz 8D

I only use my middle finger on my right hand, index/middle/ring fingers on my left, and both thumbs for the space bar. I never thought that was odd, and can type pretty darn fast this way xD

I had to take a typing class in 8th grade too. It did help me learn to type faster and without needing to look at the keyboard, but I never learned how to type "properly" or with all my fingers like you're supposed to. I don't know of any good programs or classes, but I hope you find one! Seems everyone has odd typing habits.... hmmm

I type with all fingers in a non-standard touch-typing method. I type based on patterns of words and knowing the location of a key from the location of any other key. I've typed like this for most of my life so I've gotten relatively fast at it. I'd say just try to get your other fingers in on the action, I personally hate touch typing yet I use all of my fingers to do so. I never start on home row and never keep my fingers there. This probably helps me avoid carpal tunnel considering that I'm typing on the keyboard almost all day every day without any special support or keyboard and never have any problem with it.

Zebbie, are you sure those numbers are right? xD Typing 180WPM would put you at 30WPM faster than the average typing speed of the world record holder and 10WPM faster than the speed they could reach in short bursts. And that's with them using the Dvorak keyboard, one which is specifically keyed for English and can allow for much faster speeds than the QWERTY keyboard (For English).

I had a typing class in middle school- mavis beacon for 20 minutes every morning.
My highest 'normal' speed is 81 words per minute. I was very surprised to learn this about a month ago.

Le this was the recent one :3 I would test it on Typequick or something more reputable buuut, doesn't run with Windows 7. Dontcha love compatability? ♥

Regardless of my typing speed, at any rate it's helped me touch type and I highly recommend Typequick-just figured I'd put this here seeing as I don't mean to like, hijack a blog entry or anything, tee hee

I generally only type with my forefingers but when I'm on a roll I throw in other fingers as well. :3

I use three fingers when I type, the first and middle finger for letters, thumb for the space bar.
Never taken a typing lesson, pff maybe that's why I'm so slow at typing skdfhsd.

All my fingers are used when I type.

My thumb for the spacebar. My smallest finger for Ctrl.
My first and middle fingers for all the letters. And my ring finger is for Caps lock.

I didn't really know until I typed this... okay, I only use my indexes hahaha. And the ring one to delete or the backdelete thingie.

I only use my two index fingers and I type fast. *shrug* My hands just never could really use ALL it's fingers at once like you're MEANT to. That's also part of the reason why I couldn't play the piano when I tried to take lessons. lol
