The air was fresh, clear, but not too cold.
The light was golden, the leafes wore the brightest red, orang and yellow colors.
One of those days in autumn you want to last forever.
He could hear children laughing.
Someone was calling him.
"Jakob...Jakob! Träumst du?" ('Jakob, are you dreaming...?')
He opened his eyes.
Hannah stand next to him, smiled at him.
His heart jumped. He was unable to move for a second.
Why... why was he so overwhelmed to see her? After... after all she was never gone.
He smiled back, lay his arm around her, kissed her.
"Ich... ich habe dich vermisst!" ('I... I missed you!') but why?
She laughed, her blue eyes shone.
"Ich weiß." ('I know.') does she?
He could feel her hands on his face. It felt wonderful. No scars.... What scars...?
A child screamed, started to giggle, to laugh.
He turned his head.
Hannes and Maria ran through the thick layers of foliage on the meadow. Throwing bunches of leafes at each other.
For a moment he was overwhelmed by the bright colors... so many colors...
... it felt like he haven't seen such bright colors for a long time. But why ?
His heat jumped again, his legs started to shake.
Why... why am I so...
Hannah took his hand, smiled at him, dragged him with her towards the children.
They stopped their play, looked towards them
"Papa!" They cried at once, ran towards him.
He went down on his knees, opened his arms...
... Hannes reached him first, nearly ran him over. Maria followed.
He mebreaced them, he laughed...
... he hold them....wont ever let them go.
... happy?
Tears ran down his face.
"Papa warum weinst du ?" ('Papa, why are you crying?') Maria asked, smiled at him.
"Ich weiß es nicht." ('I don't know') he smiled back... finally opened his arms again, stood up.
"Du hast ihm wehgetan wie du so auf ihn gesprungen bist!" ('You hurt him when you jumped on him like that!') Maria shouted at her brother.
Hannes started to laugh "So ein bisschen tut Papa doch nicht, weh, oder?" ('That bit doesn't hurt papa at all, does it?) a bright smile... a bunch of leafes that hit him.
Maria laughed, ran away... Hannes went after her... laughing.
He couldn't believe it but why.
"Hannah ich..."('Hannah I...') he turned his head. She put her finger on his lips.
"Ich weiß." ('I know') she replied.
"Ich liebe dich." ('I love you')
"Ich liebe dich auch." ('I love you too')
He took her hands again.
They watched the children play.
Their children.
It felt like they stood there for hours.
BEEP
"Jakob... du musst jetzt gehen." ('Jakob... you have to go now.') Her voice was sad.
"Was... wovon redest du..?"('What... what are you talking about...?')
BEEP
"Ich weiß... du willst hierbleiben... aber... aber das geht nicht. So sehr du es dir wünschst... so sehr.... ich es mir wünsche... es geht nicht."
('I know... you want to stay here... but... but that's impossible. How much you wish... how much I wish... it is impossible.') She looked at him, a sad smile on her face.
BEEP
"Aber... aber..." ('But... but...') She kissed him.
"Ich liebe dich Jakob... ich werde dich immer lieben... die Kinder... sie lieben dich auch... vergiss das nicht, hörst du?"
('I love you, Jakob... I will always love you... the children.... they love you, too... never forget that, hear me?') She hold his face, her smile, warm, calming... like an angel's smile.
BEEP
"Du musst jetzt gehen.... ich... ich wünschte... du könntest bleiben, aber.... du muss jetzt gehen"
('You have to go now... I ... I wisch you could stay, but... you have to go now') She kissed him again, he lay her arms around her.
BEEP
"Nein.... nein Hannah... ich... Ich liebe dich... ich... ich will dich nicht verlieren... nicht noch einmal!"
('No... no Hannah... I... I love you... I don't want to lose you... not again!') .... again...? She was never gone... wasn't she?
BEEP
"Ich weiß.... ich weiß es ... aber... da ist noch jemand... jemand umden du dich kümmern musst. Jemand dem du auch dein Herz geschenkt hast."
('I know... I know... but... there is someone else... someone you have to care for. Someone you gave your heart to.) She was still smiling. Understanding... warm... like an angel.
BEEP
"Was... nein... du bist die einzige..." ('What... no...you are the only one...')
She kissed him again.
Wasn't she...?
Tears ran down his face again...
BEEP
"Du musst jetzt gehen. Denk daran... wir lieben dich... "
('You have to go now. Remember that... we love you...') Her voice suddenly sounded like she was far a way.
BEEP
"Es war nicht deine Schuld, hörst du...? Es war nicht deine Schuld!"
('It was not your fault, do you hear me...? It was not your fault!') she looked into his eyes
"Es war nicht meine Schuld."
('It was not my fault.') He repeated.
BEEP
"Es war nicht deine Schuld." ('It was not your fault.')
"Es war nicht meine Schuld." ('It was not my fault.')
BEEP
"Ich liebe dich Hannah! Ich liebe dich mein Engel...!" ('I love you Hannah! I love you my angel...!')
BEEP
"Ich liebe dich auch." ('I love you too.) His angel smiled.
BEEP
"Bitte... bitte... lass mich bei dir bleiben... BITTE!"
('Please... please let me stay with you... PLEASE!') Tears ran down his face.
BEEP
She smiled. She turned around.
My God... the writing... Stop
everyone needs a good cry
(to be honest, this part made me really cry... even more than the other... for.. personal reasons)
