Endless Days ((Sam's Archive))

As with Sabel, I've decided to make an archive blog for Sam. I'm not quite sure how often I'll be playing this character, but I am quite happy with how they are developing.

CHAPTER SELECTION:

You are at the start of her records.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

March 7th, 2016

Crouched behind a wall of stone, rubble flying everywhere. Someone had set off a land mine. I'd taken cover to reload my weapons- an AN-94 and a Desert Eagle. I was also taking the time to bandage my wounds. Several bullets had grazed my sides, and I was bleeding pretty badly.
Blam
I froze. Someone had a sniper rifle out. Not good. They were also firing from the wall just behind me, and had no idea I was here. Good.
Blam
A bullet shot through a hole in another wall, where two of my comrades were hiding. Not friendly. I reached in my pocket and pulled out a detonatable bomb, quietly setting it down. I waited. One... two... three...
Blam
After they fired I ran from my spot, pressing the trigger. It took about one second as they looked up from the wall in confusion and it exploded. But as I was running, I heard something rather surprising.
KABOOM
The world flashed in white and a deafening ring went through my ears. I couldn't see and I stumbled through my blindness. I was definitely going to get shot and die this time- again. But as I continued foreward, my feet couldn't find any ground. I panicked. I couldn't feel anything beneath me as I fell.
Thud
My body protested in pain as I fell onto thick, dried out grass face first. that didn't feel good. At all. I struggled to get up, but found that my body wasn't responding properly. Speaking of which, I couldn't feel the pain of slow draining blood loss. I also couldn't feel the familiar collar of my jacket around my neck. Where is it?
After managing to stand up, I decided to wander for a bit. the world around me was freaking weird. No rubble, no walls or destroyed buildings, no gun fire or the sound of a land mine going off. I was paranoid. Heard strange, unfamiliar sounds everywhere. Didn't like it. Couldn't tell if there were threats around or anything, and couldn't find my weapons or supply pack earlier. Felt totally naked.
Headed past a pond up to some strange stone monuments. Saw a very strange colorful... bird? There. It seemed sentient too, and could talk. Weird. Didn't seem threatening though. Decided to stick around with it and learn about this place, and maybe find somewhere to hide. Followed the colorful bird to a forest of birch trees and hid in the tall grass. I don't care if I don't hear bullets, I'm keeping my head down.

I feel like this weird talking bird is a guide of some sort. Though even it doesn't know where we are. It mentioned something like being in either heaven or hell, and what each probably was. Sure I never got into all the religiousness and stuff back at home, but this doesn't seem like either.

I tried to get the weird bird's name, but they said that they didn't have one. Was it weird to expect an animal to have a name? I decided to say screw it and named the bird Blue. For more reasons than one. Not the most creative name either, but it was better than shouting "HEY RANDOM BIRD" if I needed them.

Decided to be friendly for now. I don't know if this bird is really a good thing to be around, but it's the only company I have and it hasn't tried to kill me- not that it could, right? I mean it looks small and fragile. I don't think I'd wanna accidentally lay on it.
After a lengthy talk I realized that the bird didn't seem to be looking at a human. Even called humans two legs. I was very confused and had it lead me back to the pond we'd passed earlier.

"Ohh..."
"Wait, where did all of my stuff go then?"
"Am I STUCK like this?"
"I can't hold shit with these things."
"The tines are pretty cool though."

Totally didn't trip over the big logs in there and face plant in the water. Nope.
I don't know what all is in this forest. All the damn mooing and roaring and.. whatever else.
Speak of the devil, a weird human faced deer (( boo )) came up to us. Well... kinda weird. I mean, I look the same. Decided to stare at them for a little bit before wandering over, since the bird seemed to think everything around here was safe. Awkwardly jumped with them in the water, getting used to the feeling of being on four legs, and then had flowers... thrown on me? no. Somehow blooming from my tines. Kinda nice I guess? They smelled nice. I guess I'll keep them.

A little nervous now. The bird is gone. Where the hell did it go? Do things just vanish on a whim? Stayed with the weird... deer thing. I don't know what to call myself or it. Looks kinda spooky. Yeah. I'll just call them spooks. Because I'm so fucking good with names.

Fuck, the pond is so noisy. I didn't notice it until the bird left. Can't stand it. Getting up, nope, out. Might take the spook with me.
Yep, took the spook. Headed around and found some place that seemed homey- a ruined bunch of stone. Yep, totally home. What the hell happened to this place/ it's covered in moss and has graves everywhere too. Can there be death in Limbo?
Felt tired and my sides hit me with a really nasty ass pain. What the hell? Tried looking. Saw dark shadowy marks on them. What, is that supposed to mean I'm still shot somewhere? Maybe I am in a coma or some shit. My eyes felt heavy. Decided to curl up on a flat slab of stone and fall asleep. Sorry spook, maybe we'll talk next time. Watch my six and make sure I don't die here.

March 8th, 2016
Got my ass up after a while. Felt a lot better now, considering the pain I'd felt earlier. Was this gonna be a reoccurring thing? I hope not.
Decided to track down Blue again. Found them within the tall grass and settled next to them immediately, but found a tiny little fawn... spook approaching, along with a much bigger spook. Spoopy.
Awkwardly bounced around with them and the bird. What the heck is with this place and it's hopping obsession? Don't they, ya know, not hop sometimes?
After a while, they decided to sleep within the tall grass. But I was restless now. I'd already slept for who knows how long- seeing as the sun doesn't appear to have budged at all. I got up and ran into the spook from earlier ((boo)). Found they were super bouncy too. Decided to humor them, as it really doesn't tire me out that much. Just gets a little old.

"HOLY SHIT THAT IS A BIG ASS BIRD"

A giant crow came up to us. I was pretty scared at first, considering birds didn't usually get that big where I came from. I waited for the spook to investigate it first. He seemed pretty alright with the crow, and it wasn't looking aggressive. So I decided to take a closer look. Pretty friendly.
I guess i'll just have to trust that everything here is friendly until it tries to kill me?
Walked around the crow and checked it out for a while before it wandered off, and then followed boo around the forest. They seemed to be tracking something. Watched their back whenever they stopped to listen to their surroundings and followed them when they moved. We came up to a large mushroom circle, where the crow and another stranger appeared to be. Cautious. Let the spook greet the other spook before deciding to try it myself. Still a little awkward ambling on these long legs, so I stumbled a little. Tried to make up for it with better posture. Yeah, because these things care if you have a straight back sam.
Decided to sit with them, facing away. If you aren't watching your backs, I guess I'll watch them for you. Just don't try any shit.

".... SPOOK."
Was surprised that my fur color had changed without me noticing, and the spook I'd been following had wanderd off. Suspected they were responsible.
"Well it doesn't hurt, so whatever, right?"

After messing around with the white spook, I found myself just bouncing after the crow because holy shit it's a giant crow. Getting bored of bouncing but oh well. Everyone just seemed to be able to do it for days.
Found myself following it to a sleeping spook with a skull or a face. Jeeze, what ate you? I'm not really sure if it was dead or just... sleeping. Who knows what goes on here? Best to just assume it might be threatening and sleepy. I was pretty damn confused when the crow wanted me to go up and touch it. Hell no. Just got close for a few seconds before sitting up. Weird. I feel a little different. The crow seemed to be trying to get me to do something, when I felt some kind of power drain from my antlers. And then it got... a little bigger. Okay, cool. We did this a few times for whatever reason, and I saw that the crow was just being a friendly jack ass.

"Not what I had in mind."

The crow had decided it would be a better idea to head to the noisy pond. I didn't outwardly object, but kept a good distance. We met up with a long faced spook and I awkwardly danced with them for a bit. At least they were getting a good laugh out of me and relieving most of my paranoia. Not that the pond was helping.
Backed out of there after a few minutes because i was starting to get a head ache and parked myself next to a random tree.

"I guess I'll head... home...?"

When I got to the birch tree that Blue had introduced me to, I had the holy hell scared outta me by a skull faced spook. I would have taken it better if I wasn't closing my eyes for a little bit, really. After a bit of calming down I learned that the skull was really their face. Odd. They introduced me to a whole group of other strange spooks after even more bouncing. I noticed that a customary greeting of sorts was bowing, which I was pretty hesitant to do. That might leave me kinda, I dunno, vulnerable.
Was asked to sit with the group and did, but with my back to them as a sign of trust. As long as no one tried anything I'd be fine, and I'd be watching the outside of this weird circle we'd made. that kind of contradicted what I'd thought about the greeting though. But at least it meant I was relaxed. It would totally suck if a reason for me not to be came up though.

After laying down for a bit I got restless and wandered over to the skull faced spook, leaning on them in a comfortable position. Smelled pretty good and familiar too. Wait a minute... it smells like alcohol. Pretty sure that isn't something a fairy tale whatever-the-fuck-this-is, is supposed to smell like. I'm further convinced I'm in a weird coma and the smell was probably brought on by someone bringing a bottle into whatever ward my body was in. Decided to try and analyze this weird lucid trip. Skulls on deer... okay, yeah I was in a war zone. So that would probably explain a bit. But the forest and things I had never seen before made no sense.

The spook didn't seem to mind my closeness too much- and actually seemed to take it pretty well. Were all creatures here this... nice?
I began to hear bleating and mooing again. Something was probably upset or trying to get another thing's attention. I wasn't all that sure.

March 9th, 2016

NOPE NOPE NOPE
Went to scout out more of this place and see how much of it there was, happening to pass a bunch of giant boulders. Kinda cool, kinda weird. Cool factor went down when I saw a massive pile of fighting spooks. Blue, you know those things I asked you about? If there was anything to avoid? That might be one of them.
Wondered where the damn bird was while i kept my nose out of it, hiding under a large slanted boulder. Sure I could try fighting in this body, but I was probably going to get my ass handed to me before that. Headed back to the birch.
Where are you, Blue?
Tempted to call out for the bird but decided against it. They'll come when they can.

March 10th, 2016
Decided to try and explore a bit more today. Everything seemed generally quiet, aside form the sound of my own breathing and hooves pounding the ground below me. I'm getting better at running in this body, thankfully. Still need to lean how to just walk without falling on m-
"FUCK"
Ate my own words and a clod of dirt. Got up and continued running. Started to freak out a little because I'm pretty sure I've passed the same place a few times. I mean, how many crumbled ruins can this forest have that look exactly the same? Hell, how many giant TREES can it have that look exactly the same? Realized I was practically going in circles. This place was fucking repeating. Seeing the same spooks that I'd passed a few moments ago pretty much confirmed this. Tried turning and going other ways, but always came back to the starting place- the ruins, the oak, the pond. Didn't like it one bit.

Also noticed the spooks I had been passing were glaring at each other. One seemed to be a mixture of wolf, and the other was a mixture of deer. There was also a dead spook under the wolf mix. Yeah, no. Beat it.

Decided to slow down a bit and try not to trip on my face (fuck these antlers and how heavy they are) and headed up a hill to a pair of statues. I wasn't going to dream analyze and figure out what those meant because this sure as hell didn't feel like a lucid dream. And I was getting too annoyed. took the time to look around and listen to my surroundings, noticing a spook next to a tree nearby. Warily walked close until I saw the candles on their head.

"Okay that's fucking cool."

Went a little closer to take a look at them and find out more about this place. they called themselves "The Collector" but that was a bit of a mouthful to remember. Asked them for a simpler name and found that they said others called them "Tig". Not gonna admit that is kinda cute to them, nope. Felt a pair of eyes on us and saw a baby spook nearby. Kinda cute, kinda weird? Decided to keep an eye on it while asking some more questions. Became a little wary after Tig told me not to play near families of spooks and their kids. Mkay, noted.
Got more wary when I saw a bigger spook come up to the little one.
"I think that's enough for today."

March 23rd, 2016
Hadn't seen the blue bird for quite some time and decided that it probably showed up whenever it pleased. It probably had its own worries. I'd adjusted to this body pretty well with movement and was busy keeping it healthy and not letting my muscles go flabby because that would suck later on. I'd gotten to know a good deal of the area too, as this place just looped around. There was some strange shrine like area with a pool of water, where I'm pretty sure I hallucinated a floating fish and lightening strikes- which meant I wasn't gonna frequent that even if it was close to the damn tree that I'd decided to stay at. A pond seemed to be one of many central gathering places, considering it was one of the few sources of water around here. It never ran out and a large carved rock referred to as "The Crying Idol" seemed to keep the water fresh and circulate it. The forest residents that aren't baring their fangs have mushrooms, blueberries, flowers, pinecones, and other things to munch on. Though some of them bring things that don't appear in the forest at all- clothes, jewlery, things that look like personal effects. So many are like me and come from other places. Though, there are spooks here that don't have these and look more like they belong here. It's just hard to tell the difference sometimes- although they are, for sure, much more familiar with the "magic" of this place.

I've looked at the biggest tree in this area and surveyed it for a while, noticing it was a safe zone for most of the spooks here. There rarely was more than one of them in the tree, and when there were more- it was packed. Others avoided it and stayed out of the range of that loud annoying hum that vibrated through it. And as far as I can tell, it might be like one of those trees that is connected to every other tree- making everything in this forest a root to it.

The only spooks here that I've had much contact with are Blue, and that weird cat thing that smelled like alcohol. Otherwise I've steered clear of the rest to watch and learn. there are many days where they all just sit int he sunlight or the flowers, but every now and then things get pretty violent. The only indication that this might happen is when the spooks stare at each other for a long time or pace. And apparently not everything with fangs is an enemy to something with hooves.

I still have a lot to learn about this place, but I don't plan to stick around long. A lot of the creatures here are unpredictable, dangerous, and not what they seem at all. I can't trust that anything around here is safe or reliable.

May 27th, 2016

It's been a while here.Starting to think that there isn't a way back to where I came from. Haven't been able to find my stuff, so it probably didn't come with me. And I never saw that bid again. Great. But so far I haven't been hurt or anything because I just keep my nose out of things. Getting pretty lonely, though. Awkward trying to socialize- nothing to gain from it. Watching others from a distance doesn't get me much satisfaction either.

While out walking and avoiding the freaking pond of loud frogs and unknown creatures, I spotted something near the two pillars up on a hill. Fire. Went up to investigate and found a spook sleeping there. Decided to get close because he looked pretty harmless, and the candles on his head were pretty cool. Felt weird that it wasn't with a group or something. Stayed with him.
So tell me all about these magic candles.

Found out that there actually might be a way to leave. But there were different ways and it seemed to depend on the person.. Damnit. If only he knew some way that everyone used. Wish on a star, hop across a pond, and then boom! Home... right?

Not gonna tell him but it's probably also because he looks like a pretty good meal for some of the crazier spooks here.

Speaking of which, after chatting it up with the kid (names tig. Pretty cool name.) some random spook got into my personal space. Lifted myself onto my hind legs and reared. Didn't like that. Back off. Back off.

And someone else was just staring eerily at us. Wanted to go over and scare him off somehow but ended up in a staring contest with the lightly colored spook. He seemed pretty confident. Wait until I get my ass over there.

Eventually got up and confronted him about it. Flirting? Flirting? You're kidding, right? Gave him many nasty looks and an alias. Didn't want to mess with those sharp ass claws of his but damn, it was tempting. Very tempting.
After some talking, I learned that this guy had some clue about things that weren't from the forest. So either he wasn't from here, or someone else had introduced him to the weapons at some point. Watched his expressions and body language carefully- yeah, he was just purely looking over to give her those glazed over eyes. No thanks. While he was in his own thoughts, quickly said good bye and noted him in my head as "Sir Fluffybutt mc old man". gonna keep that in mind in case I run into him again. Told Tig to stay away from the weirdo and then left to cool off.

Holy shit these guys are crazy.

And suddenly there was a massive fight. Followed it from the giant tree tot he ruins and the blue flowers. But DAMN someone had stepped on someone else's toes.

Kept my distance. Wasn't gonna take sides for folks I didn't know. Eventually it all stopped and I wandered off towards the blue flower patch surrounded by trees, running into a spook with big red antlers. Looked imposing, wondered why he was staring. Decided to try and friendlier greeting this time and just sat next to him.

May 28th, 2016

Since things had calmed down a bit, I decided to go and find out more about the spook I'd met the other day. 'Sir fluffybutt'. Sought him out and found him lounging by a birch tree in that area with the large boulders. Also tried testing my social skills. Kind need to work on them. Gave a quick greeting and tried to hold back my aggression. Very hard to take this guy's advice about being nice when fights broke out here pretty often. While asking him about instructing me in combat, I found that he was the type to have other people fighting for him- not something I wanted to mirror. Great sure, until those people aren't as strong as whoever you're up against. Decided to take half of his advice about being peaceful, but otherwise try and learn how to defend myself.

Found out some very important information. This guy seemed to have access to someone or something that could give him enhancements. Highly likely that he wasn't born and raised here. Though, wondered how he had access to these things. there definitely weren't any vending booths on the forest floor. And this place didn't seem to have a currency system. Though, with the way he described it- basic trading appeared to go on. There are already pretty shady lookin' things here- the fact that they could make anything any more dangerous wasn't comforting. Even more of a reason to not just become a bump on a log and depend on someone else.

After this guy had showed me what he used to... hunt with...? I guess? My curiosity got the better of me and I kinda wanted to see his huge ass claws- talons- whatever, again. Because they looked pretty cool. Tried touching them with one of my forelimbs, but was rather annoyingly reminded "idiot, you don't have hands". Almost got up when he moved one to touch my face, but then it hit me.

Double idiot. Your face still has skin that can feel.

The smooth texture and fine points on these things were enough to convince me he didn't just defend himself with them. No, this guy probably used them regularly. But he didn't pick fights so....? For what? meat eating teeth- a scavenger?
Really didn't want to admit it, but they were pretty freaking cool. Probably did a lot of damage and just kept things in general from picking fights with this guy. What can I say? I'm a little jealous.
But then the guy had to fluff up like the other day and make his feathers more noticeable. After a few months here I had an intense craving for feeling things that weren't wood and dirt on my face, but wasn't really sure if I wanted to just keep... touching him. He was already pretty intimidating. When he said yes, I decided to just touch them for a few seconds. Heard him give some kind of sound while my face was there- a chirp. Moved my face away, but didn't have the social skills to try and just pass it off as 'cool'. Nope, just stared off to the right.

They're soft and pleasant... but not much underneath them. So he can hit hard and do damage, but probably avoids getting hit.
Despite being calmed down by being able to feel some things, was not very ready to receive peaceful gestures like smiling. Scooted away so that I wouldn't just get pissed. Keep it cool, kid. He just moved a few muscles on his face. No big deal. It's a good thing. But what am I supposed to DO around good things? Yell? Scream? Hit something?
Oddly enough, that actually got a name out of the guy. Alabaster. Wasn't going to let him know, but that name sounded pretty cool. Kind of sounds like cannons. But uh... not... cannons. Maybe it just had that bad ass "BOOM" or something. We said a few more words to each other before he unexpectedly stood up and tried messing with my hair. Didn't manage to duck in time and found that he was just... pushing it back? Not used to the gesture and was left confused. Decided to stay at a nearby tree for now.
I need to know how he gets to this black market. Because if there's a way out of here, I'll take it.

But... it won't be there...

Isn't that a good thing?

Decided to try and learn to use this body for combat on my own. First thing's first- familiar things. Might not be able to use these hooves to punch, but can probably time strikes. Felt a slight pang of pain at my sides and remembered... something. Bootcamp. Muscle memory. Great, but not my biggest concern right now. Tried peeking through the fur and saw that some of the skin had turned black, but was gradually regaining proper color. Like last time... is that where I was hurt...?

Encountered a stranger while Sir was sleeping. Not sure about, and rather oddly decided to sniff them. I can smell... particular... things... Hadn't quite noticed this, but even Alabaster had some faintly noticeable smells. Paper and rather expensive, sweet stuff. Wasn't going back to try and get a better whiff, though- I'm pretty sure I could recognize that from a good distance.

Felt tired and decided to head closer to the rocks. Talking with 'Sir' seemed kinda harmless, but I wasn't going to trust him while I was sleeping. Found a sort of natural lean-to where a slanted boulder was leaning against the side of another one, and decided to set up. Lined the open sides of the lean to with rocks to be able to hear something coming so I would wake up if it approached. Entered and fell asleep after I tested them with my hooves and could clearly hear their clatter.

May 29th, 2016

Was woken up abruptly by the sound of hooves approaching. Quickly retreated out of the lean to and saw that this might actually be someone's home- crap. Decided to leave the stones there for them to make some kind of use and began my day. Not that daylight seems to end here.
Went for a pretty long run, passing things in the forest and trying to ignore other activities. Passed many strange spooks that looked very big and very dangerous, but were resting. After a while, found a suitable tree and began practicing on it. Struck it with my hooves a couple of times and decided to see what I could do with these things on my head. Antlers. Seemed quite sturdy. Tried ramming the tree, but these things seemed to be better built for catching things. Defensive. Practiced timing my hoof strikes when rearing. Not much to work with, here. Watched a group running around another tree and mooing or something.

Left after a bit because I could feel them becoming more aware of me. But while I was heaidng back to the place with all those huge stones, I encountered a face painted spook. Looked like he might've been some smartly dressed bartender. Or waitress? Can't figure out what this spook is for the life of me, but just gonna ignore that. Didn't like them staring at me, and they seemed to make some pretty similar expressions compared to fluffybutt. Though, a little more relaxed. Decided to go with that 'peaceful' approach thing and kept a good few feet away just in case. His speech pattern felt oddly familiar- pretty happy about something like that. Seemed like a pretty calm understanding type of guy, but he was also keeping his distance. He knows to be just as cautious. Shared a few laughs and decided to try and get a name to remember- rather than just remembering that they smelled super fruity. When was the last time I ate a fruit?

Gave em' my alias for now after they identified themselves as "Dorian". Also let me call them 'Tux'. Yessss. Classy, cool, mysterious. Pretty much all you in a nut shell.

And then a kid came by. Well... buck? Doe? I don't know. They seemed kinda curious so I danced with em' for a little bit. And then of course, hopping. Because everything here loves jumping. Settled back on the rock after they lost interest.... sort of? They came back and sat next to me. Not sure if that's a good thing, a bad thing, or both. But pretty sure it's good that I impressed a kid.

Eventually left Tux and went to try and bother fluffybutt again, but was distracted when I kept hearing repeated mooing. Seriously, that's annoying. Followed the sound and saw some blue antlered spook I'd passed earlier. They seemed eager for company so I let em' follow me. Also saw a smaller spook, but they were too flighty to try takin' a better look at. Left them alone. While walking through the birch, I spied two spooks having a staring contest. Get out the popcorn and grab a seat, there's trouble abound.

Eventually it just came down to them inching closer, so I left. Headed back to the big rocks and saw that 'Sir' was still there. Along with something fluffy. Observed their interactions carefully before attempting to move behind Alabaster to startle him. Unfortunately, the kid was pretty alert. Got to me before that and said hello. Tried to pose for them bit tripped and fell over, only for them to bite my nose. Ow.

After a bit, the fox kit was pretty content with batting at my hooves or nibbling on them. Felt pretty painless so that was alright. 'Sir' invited me to try some of the rabbits they'd hunted which brought me to question what I did eat. Sure I'd been going to the crying statue to get water, but I hadn't eaten anything and... I was fine. Weird. tried a bit of the meat but found it kinda gross because it wasn't cooked. Can't wait to get mad cow disease.
Was inwardly hoping I wasn't gonna get sick later.

Decided to ask him about the fox kit. They guy said he was caring for it or something. I would have believed it, if I didn't remember his words when he'd mentioned there being 'vendors' in the forest.
"Fox pelts are a good start."

Poor kid.

While talking, found him giving me that smile again. Peaceful attitude almost gone. managed to smack him with mud while he wasn't looking and scared the kid off. Could see why too- this guy didn't like getting dirty. Looked pretty angry too- at least the smirk was gone. Decided that was pretty good for today and left a very angry bird with a fox kit. However- while I was resting in the birch, they appeared to have snuck away to try playing with me. Decided to oblige and it worked out for a while. that is, until they scooted over to some slepeing big guy and started biting his face. Nope nope NOPE. Pushed em' off and told them no. They didn't like that very much. Decided to call the little thing Bitey because of all their teething and anger. Lured them back to my side by laying down and scooped them up in my antlers. Didn't think I would head back so soon.

Tried dumping them back over at Sir's place, but found that wasn't what the kid wanted. Annoyed. But decided to let Sir know I'd been there by leaving writing in the dirt. "Your kid won't leave me alone"- Red. Oddly unsettled by the noticeable junk in his fur. Weird... didn't see that before. Just kinda picked it out trying not to wake the angry bird. then, the fox kit decided to walk off. Followed after it and tried ghosting, but the kid was pretty aware of my presence and mooed just to make me run after it. Had a little fun chasing it, but fell over a lot. Vry bruissed and dirty Sam sitting with the kid at a tree.

"Smartass."

Eventually fell asleep next to the tree it had decided to occupy. Tomorrow should be fuckin' great.
Restless sleep though. The markings on my side seemed pretty persistent.

May 30th, 2016
Staying by the tree for now.
After the pain in my side and face went away, got up and did some running. Not gonna become some lump of meat sitting for something to eat. Came across the fox kit along the way and wanted to see what it was up to. Following around some stranger I didn't know. Probably biting them. Would have chased it more for the fun of it, but was feeling pretty grumpy. Let it play with the spook and run off. Also noticed two spooks huddled in a tree- no doubt in my mind that Bitey probably bothered them. One of the spooks was Tux. How the fuck did you get int hat tree?

Didn't stalk the fox kit while it played with a big red spook. Nope.

Earlier, I had passed by some large group of spooks with two of em' lookin' pretty mad. No fight- just a lot of staring. While tracking down Bitey again, I saw one of the spooks from that same group- dark grey with a black braided mane. Decided to note them in my head for now in case I saw them regularly.

Saw Bitey and their big red friend following me. Decided to chase them, and in turn got chased. Then we just started running through the trees- got my Adrenalin pumping. Jumped over them, got jumped over, knocked over- and pretty much made a mess of any flower patches or clearings we went through. Bitey was pretty tired after a bit so we rested next to a log. Teased them about it, and got a snarky "Ni" in response. It's all fun n' games.

Nothing productive outside of that. Going to practice dodge rolls and striking again. Maybe a bit of trap setting.

Rough housed for a bit before the kid was too tired. Let em' curl up in a safe place and put a bunch of stones near them- hidden under stuff so they would know if something approached. then started wrestling with the big red friend of theirs. liked this spook's energy and aggression, and pretty much had a field day running all over the place. Might've overdone it a bit, but we were fine. Settled on the giant boulders after a while. You can actually tire me out.

Woke up on the large boulders. Not the best sleeping spot- pretty sore. Could smell fluffybutt nearby, so he was probably at the usual place. Decided not to get into a fight and headed to the crying... rock thing for water. Not taking anything from that nasty pond. Noticed a familiar figure resting in some blue flowers and sat across from them. Heavy bags under the eyes and a really out of it expression... he's had a busy day. Inquired about tig's tired look. Apparently they'd been with quite a few friends today. Didn't know friendship was so exhausting. Decided to stay with them and got a few laughs. Also explained that they were a sugarcube. By not explaining what a sugarcube was outside of 'sweet'. Stop being so cute.

While resting with him, two spooks came up to us. One was blue with bright yellow markings, and the other was some dark brown color. Seemed alright. Gonna subtly crawl over tig and watch because
my sugarcube
. Exchanged looks and spoke to the blue guy. Jovan Williams. Hell no, you aren't from around here. Probably from a similar place to mine, too. Wondered how he walked around with all that hair in his eyes, but didn't question him about it. Not vital. Talking with him seemed pretty okay. But then when we got on the subject of stuff at 'home' I started seeing and hearing things.

Bullets. Bullets everywhere, hitting walls and metal.
Running ahead of several people- seven of them. One is bleeding and unconscious.
Shouting and screaming. Disagreeing- arguments. Almost to where we need to be.
Trying to stop her from bleeding. Can't let them have the blood.
The wound is too deep- she's gone.

"What the FUCK are you doing?!"
"We can't let them get anything! You understand?"
"But it's her body!"
"Exactly! We have to get rid of it!"

We leave behind her body, smoldering into ashes.
"Drop a DNA bomb, just in case."

Suddenly, a voice that does not belong.
"Hey! You shouldn't do that too often...."

Came back to 'reality' shivering and sweaty. Jovan was giving me a look so I tried getting the sweat off of my face. Found hooves wiping at it rather than hands. Groaned and found him placing some flowers and leaves in front of me. The scent was oddly relaxing.
"Thanks."
Contemplating if it's really a good idea to go back. What am I even going back to?

Decided to let Tig sleep and check on Sir's location. Headed to the big boulders to find that he was more than likely sleeping. Probably gonna bother him the next day- also wondering where the fox kit went.
Is it weird to want to look for folks...? Even if they're mad?
Got in some training today. Dodge rolls. Going to practice environmental usage or trees, dirt, and other things. That way I have a back up strategy in case I don't have 'bigger stronger' friends to back me up.
I wanna be my biggest, strongest friend anyways.

Saw the braided, dark grey spook watching us from behind the crying statue. Didn't know how aware they were, but came up behind them to try and scare. Nope, they were just moody. I could see why, based on the body language. This spook was hurt. Left em' alone and decided to investigate the spook in the water- one I had been sitting near with J and Tig. Seemed pretty okay-ish and confused about me going in to check on em. If you were dead, the water would be a whole lot less drinkable.

June 3rd, 2016

Spent the past three days doing some body and combat training. Also tried swimming in the pond- okay at first, but this isn't a human body. Learning to tread water with four legs is a bit difficult, but staying afloat isn't too bad. Going on runs first thing after I wake up, and finding that I am slowly growing hungry. I can wait longer without eating, but I'll need to get something soon. Frequenting what the spooks around here call "The Blue Bowl" and taking berries from there. Noticed a wind chime handing from one of the trees- strange. Some of the trees also seem to have things stored in them or around them.

. . . .

After spending some time getting in a good run, I came across Tig again. Either he REALLY likes that tree, or he hasn't moved for three days. Asked him about it because I wanted to know if someone could literally just sit there for three days and be fine. He'd moved around so... I guess not. However, while sitting with the sugarcube- a fluffy white rabbit came up to us. Expected speech at this point, didn't expect it to be so damn grumpy. But whatever, spooks fought all the time. I was having a little bit of fun pissing it off when I noticed that it was kind of sort of SETTING THE FLOWERS ON FIRE. Had a mild flashback about explosions and may or may not have hit the rabbit in the face with mud. Sugarcube was pretty upset about the flowers, but a little hug and keeping him close settled him down. Spoke with the rabbit and decided to try and figure out where it was from. A few smartass answers at first ((what can I say, I probably would have done the same)) before it gave me a few clues. You don't come from my place, for sure- if you don't know what the hell half of the weapons are. Considered they may also have had memory loss but didn't bother inquiring. Eventually learned their name was Saro.

May-August
Spend the past two months keeping my body trained through excersize. Learned how to swim properly in the pond and did daily five round laps around the forest, using the trees and the rubble as obstacle courses. Been sticking to eating what the forest offers; berries and pine cones. The flavor gets really old after a while, though. Makes me miss potatoes. As luck seemed to have it, I didn't run into 'Sir' throughout that time. he was probably busy with other things. But I had to admit, I missed Bitey. They were fickle, fun company.

August 2nd-5th, 2016
Had spend yet another day training my body, practicing swimming in the pond and jumping over the gaps. had a shitty time doing it because the frogs and ducks just don't let up with their damnable noise. I could barely spend a few minutes in their without getting a stupid head ache. I need an alternative. This isn't working."

After drying off and running around the forest for a bit, I saw a very familiar face. [i]How the hell does THAT one always show up?
It was the spook with a spotted pelt. They confused the ever loving hell out of me. Couldn't tell what the hell they wanted half of the time. Sat with them in a mushroom circle and they seemed pretty happy using magic on me if I ever fell asleep. Right back at ya'. We kept this up for a while, until I noticed something. We were slowly being surrounded by other spooks. Some kind of feline creature in armor, and two figures slowly approaching in the distance. Didn't know if these guys were that thing's friend, but I quickly made sure he knew I was leaving and bolted. Not having any of that. I rushed straight back to the pond, no matter how many damn frogs were croaking.

Tux came and sat a short distance away. I was pretty happy to see that cheeky dancer, but he looked kinda down. We talked for a bit and he taught me a dance move called "The Moon Walk". Not so sure about the name, but it did look outta this world. Of course, he'd been doing this for ages and flaunted it. Maybe someday I'll get good enough to dance with you regularly.
Then when we sat down to rest, he started asking me about hobbies. Oh boy. I feel like I'm having De-ja-Vu. I told him about what I did in my profession, and I could see the look of fear in the guy's eyes. I don't think I'd ever met someone who was afraid of these things... kinda weird. Tried to lighten the mood up a bit, but some images briefly flashed in my head. Yeah... I know why folks would be afraid. You lose a lot to those... guns. The mood felt pretty much killed. Got up to leave, blaming it on the frogs. And then he said it. Toots. Guess he figured it out, huh? Did really know how to feel at the moment because I wasn't sure if I'd upset Tux, or he'd bothered me.

The next day, I was doing my laps around the forest and deciding to take a rest int he ruins. it was nice to get my muscles burning. I was about to doze off when some little goat came up to me. What do you want, kid? And then they headbutted me. Okay, I see what you're getting at. They coaxed me outta my sleeping spot and tried tussling with me, which wasn't so bad. But I could also see a large stag and a little spook on the other side of the ruins where they were heading. If I remembered right, that blue bird had told me to avoid families or confrontations with them. So I was keeping my distance. The kid seemed pretty happy messing with them, so I was about to just sit in the red flowers by a tiny idol when they came back. Seemed they wanted me to participate.

It wasn't so bad, hanging out with them. Lots of headbutting and roughhousing from the kid, with the little spook trying to figure out what or who I was. That large stag seemed pretty okay, but he only rough housed with the goat. After a while, the kid fell asleep and we all sat together. It was kinda nice.
And then suddenly, two other large spooks with two other little spooks came up to sit with us. Did they know each other? Was this bring your kid to the debris and chill day? Seemed kinda shaky with greeting them and they left pretty quickly. Eventually decided to get my butt up and stop being lazy, giving the stag and his little spook a good-bye.
